A place to carry on chatting after a BFP and support each other through the stressful bits. I hope to see many new graduates appearing....

IBIP, yes 20 weeks has taken a long time to get to! I definitely haven't been an earth mother and neurotic the whole time. I hated guiltily the first trimester as I was moody (see ur getting that), sick, tired, felt fat and and twinges a lot. Felt do wrong to feel like that after all the heartache of the mc but I just did! So 20 weeks feels good! Had my scan last wk and all fine which is helping me relax. We opted for the surprise Wink. Just got to get my head around it coming v early now so nice prob got 12-14 weeks left of pregnancy!!

Ah just read back a bit almond- wow that's soon! Must be exciting/ scary at same time. Do you know how long you/baby will have to be in hospital afterwards?

Janie- I didn't realise what it was the other day. My friend sent me a pic of the wall art she is putting in her nursery - I literally sobbed. Hysterically. Thank goodness DH wasn't here to see it. Already thinks im mental.

I was a bit shocked at first but think I am getting my head around it now. The bit I am most worried about is not being able to do the 'normal' things straight away (like holding the baby after birth and it going to the special care babies unit). But I guess what will be will be and I just need to be strong about it. It is a bit of a wait and see game so I if the baby comes at 32 weeks it could be in for awhile but it if come at 36/38 weeks it will be less. It also depends on how big it is and if there are any complications.

I was exactly the same with the hormones at first. It has definitely eased off now but I do get irrationally emotional occasionally still!!

Wow almond. Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly for you and bub.

Okay, seriously concerned now. Just settled down to eat a few whole bag of my favourite sensations crisps, and couldn't face more than a handful. And don't even talk to me about the guacamole that I was trying to eat with it!
What the chuff is going on?!

ibip [whispers] symptoms! They will drive you crazy. I don't really have cravings yet but have completely gone off lots of favourites! The only craving I did have was sea salt and balsamic vinegar kettle chips because they stopped me feeling sick long enough to get an appetite for dinner. Now I can't even look at the sodding things!

Hey ladies.
Okay I think I need a little sense talked into me. Can someone help please?
I am panicking about what I should do next. So am more confident hormones going up now, but what next? When I went to te docs after mc 2- they said there is nothing that can be done. Even when I get pg again. And my doctors policy is that you don't book to see a doctor, you just pop in and get a pregnancy pack from reception, and wait for a midwife to call you.
So, what do I do? Do I try and see a doc anyway, knowing they will probably do nothing at all? Do I wait for a midwife to call me and then panic on the phone to her? I don't think I am really thinking straight, any help with be appreciated :)

Right lovely. Get on the midwife list. She will ring you back to make an appt and you can then panic at her at will on the phone. If your hospital has an EPU you can ring them and ask if they'll do a reassurance scan but I would wait until you think you're 7 weeks because they should be able to see a heartbeat then. Unfortunately, until then, it's just waiting. Eat well, drink lots of water, take your vitamins xx

Oh ibip that's a very frustrating position to be in. I think anda's advice sounds pretty spot on.

I'm just on folic acid at the mo, what other vitamins should I be taking?

TMI alert...I had some of that brown stuff when I wiped last night (prob from implantation I guess) today it's gone a kinda khaki colour with little brown specks - only when I wipe, not on knickers. Hopefully this is ok so long as its not blood red?

Thank you. That is the sensible talk I needed. :) in just so scared I am missing something that may cause/not prevent another one.
But you are right. Will go pick up my pack tonight and get registered.

Janie- it sounds okay to me but how annoying and worrying for you :( why ist mother nature being kind, have we not been through enough?!

Report
andadietcoke · 18/03/2013 14:14

Janie I had 'brown stuff' for the best part of ten days from about six weeks. Ended up getting scanned at the EPU because I had pain too I think now it was trapped wind pain but they said it was just from bedding in. Brown is normally okay. No pain is very good.

Vitamins. I feel like I should be rattling. I'm on high dose folic acid, vitamin d, ferrous sulphate and aspirin. Vitamin D is my only recommendation if you're already on folic acid. The midwife told me to take it but I was already on it, as I'd found stuff on the Internet linking vitamin d deficiency to miscarriages so I thought it was worth a go. I get 25ug from Boots.

Shell - jealous. DH ate ALL my crisps. Not that I wanted then, but still.
How's mini shell doing?

Just googled early scans. £70 where I am. And there is a date that I could get off work which is when I would be 7+5. Tempted.....

shellshock7 · 18/03/2013 14:44

He's still very poorly, but we got some smiles this morning which really cheered us up Smile

I would do it, with DS I had to have that scan I couldn't cope with the worry....this time I have surprised myself by saying to DH last night that I think the stress of going for the scan might be worse than the wait for 12w...does that make any sense?!

Report
IBelieveInPink · 18/03/2013 15:28

Kind of. Yeah. Already getting myself worked up thinking about it and clearing the weekend after in case it bad news!

At what stage did you go for scan with your ds? Is 7+5 far enough along?

Report
shellshock7 · 18/03/2013 15:41

Went at 8 weeks as that's when the MMC had actually stopped growing, you could see heartbeat etc. but still looked like a kidney bean not a baby like at 12 Smile

Report
shellshock7 · 18/03/2013 15:42

Also if you didn't ovulate on CD14 I'd adjust to make sure you are 7+5 not earlier iyswim

Report
IBelieveInPink · 18/03/2013 15:48

To be honest, I just want to go along and see a heartbeat. Both mcs have stopped at 5 weeks, one the sac carried on growing, the next it didn't. So I kinda just want to see that there is something with a heartbeat, and my body isn't growing an empty sac again.

shellshock7 · 18/03/2013 16:09

If you can afford it go as soon as you can then, you could always go again later Smile

IBelieveInPink · 18/03/2013 16:42

Ha no! DH will only allow me one. Will see how long I can hold out :)

thanks for the advice on the wipage girls. fx it's all fine and dandy. i think i'll defo try to get an early scan. i'm hoping i might be able to get one at epu following my last issues post mc but maybe that's wishful thinking. otherwise there's only one private clinic here that offers it (£100 gulp). if i can afford it then i'll get it.

Hi all, how are you all doing? I'm having a bit of a wobble, just don't feel very pg :( I was getting a few stretching twinges and sensations going on in my womb but now nothing at all and only 'symptoms' are being tired and constipated which could be non pg anyway, it's do crap thinking if this one isn't going to go well the only option is going through all of this again :( sorry to be so depressing x

Report
andadietcoke · 19/03/2013 07:30

bumpkitty enjoy it. It drove me mad when people said that to me, but it's true. I was desperate to feel awful and was jealous of people throwing up and feeling like crap. Truth is, there are lots of people on my September thread that got to their 12 week scan thinking they'd imagined their pregnancy. My nausea kicked in about 7 weeks, and the vomiting from about 8 weeks. By week 9 I couldn't imagine why I'd ever wished for morning sickness. Oh, and then you worry again when it goes!!

Report
shellshock7 · 19/03/2013 08:07

bump snap! I too have constipation and that's it really, was nauseas at first but that's gone so don't feel PG at all really now.....but it was like this with DS, got more symptoms with the MMC Confused
