Anybody else overdue/due soon?

Hi Everyone

I am 4 days overdue and completely fed up!Can't sleep at night because of painful hips and heartburn from hell, and am just sick of sitting waiting around!Every pain comes with a desperate hope that it will turn into a contraction, even the ear ache I had yesterday was googled to see if this was a sign of labour (desperate times)

Plus on top of that, I can't deal with another message/phone call asking if I have had the baby yet, especially off close family members! What do they expect me to say- 'yes I had him last week, do you not follow me on twitter?'. Do they not think I would of been in contact as soon as I possibly could to tell them the good news!!

Anyway, I am just moaning now!Was just wondering if there are any fellow pregnant ladies due to pop any day now,and fancy a chat to pass time until our little bundles of joy arrive!

Sounds lovely Amanda! Have a lovely newborn snuggle for us and hopefully more of us will be enjoying ours soon. Each day gets us closer one way or another!

Welcome MrsH, worcestershiresauce and Kelerina. Sounds like we are all fed up of waiting and bouncing on the ball!

I left DS with DH this morning and went for a walk to try and get things moving. I'd been out for a walk before I had DS so hoping that will work again.

Have just popped to Holland and Barret for some raspberry leaf capsules and clary sage oil! Probably won't work but I feel better for getting out and doing something! Amanda that sounds wonderful......

Hi everyone!

Sorry haven't been on since I originally started the thread, but my little man arrived on Friday 22nd and is just perfect! Waters went on the Wednesday evening, had a few mild pains Thursday that developed into full blown labour by later Thursday night/Friday morning! Delivery ended up in an emergency section, but we were both fine and healthy!

Life has been a world wind since, can't believe how much my life has changed, but all the heartburn and pains were definitely worth it!

Hope all you ladies are well and your babies are all here soon :)

Congratulations on the arrival of your DS Whereswalt! Thanks for reminding us that it is all worth it in the end. Can't wait to get to meet our newborn now.

40+5 today and sweep booked for Weds so really hoping something will happen this week.

Kelerina hope your Holland & Barrett purchases do the trick.

My desperation to get baby out has backfired as I just discovered I've developed cholestasis & have been rushed to hospital to be induced immediately so waving goodbye to my dreams of lovely natural water birth!

Hoping induction isn't as bad as they say it is!?!

SausageMother · 04/03/2013 18:32

Oh leannac, so sorry to hear that and hope you and baby are okay. Just reminds us that all that matters in the end is a safe delivery. I've heard induction is more successful for 2nd and subsequent babies so hopefully you can avoid the drip but whatever happens I hope it goes well and is all forgotten once baby arrives. Good luck - will be thinking of you.

Are they inducing you with the pessaries leanna or going straight for the drip? I've heard some scary things about the drip but as far as I know the pessaries just set you off in normal labour (if they work). I think they can take a long time to kick in though. I'm sure you'll be fine :) and at least you know the end is in sight!

I had a pessary at 2pm & got pretty bad period pains now so hopefully things will get going without my needing the drip. Fingers crossed. Scared but remembering how lucky we are that both baby & I still ok as as long as I can get baby out safely that's the main thing. V disappointing to go from relaxed home birth plan to this in a matter of hours though! That'll teach me to be inpatient!

Good luck to everyone else!

The irony - about 5 minutes after posting my last whinge I went into labour! Just arrived home with a gorgeous snuggly newborn after a relatively straight forward delivery (needed ventouse at the end, but no epidural). Good luck to those still waiting.

Oh congratulation Worsestershiresauce! :) It's my due date today, I've had tons of Braxton-Hicks all day but nothing promising :(

Congratulations worsestershiresauce! So lovely to hear that another baby has been born. Did you have a DS or DD? Enjoy those lovely newborn cuddles!

Leannac, still thinking of you. Hoping that your baby is here now and induction process is not dragging on for you. All the best either way.

I am 41 weeks today and booked in for a sweep this evening. Really hope it isn't too painful and that it works!

I'm now 37+5 with first. had MW appointment this afternoon and was secretly hoping that she'd say something along the lines of 'oh my, any moment now' but she didn't.

Getting quite uncomfortable and want to meet baby! But I'm sure i'll miss this time to myself once she's here!

I know that feeling Tinkerbell, my midwife examined me last week intended to do a sweep (I was 39+2) and I was convinced she was going to say I was starting to dilate and everything and that I wouldn't be long, even though it was before my due date... turned out she couldn't even reach my cervix and baby's head was no longer engaged :( she's trying again tomorrow so I'm hoping things have progressed!

Christilass I'd love my baby to get here in time for Mothers' Day too, hopefully our sweeps work tomorrow!

Report
SausageMother · 06/03/2013 19:33

Well, just got back from my sweep and it was fine. A lot easier than I thought. I am 2-3 cms dilated and baby's head is very low (1/5th so progress from 3/5th last week). Although this is second time round so apparently being a bit dilated already is not a surprise. Midwife felt my bump and said 'does it often go hard like that' and I said I assumed that was just Braxton Hicks as there's no pain with it. She said that it was more than BH so fingers crossed baby will be on the way soon otherwise I'm booked for induction next Weds at 42 weeks.

Christilass and catlady1 good luck for your sweeps tomorrow. Hopefully the midwife will be able to do what they need to and get these babies moving!

Tinkerbell if this is your first I would try and expect to be a bit late and then if you are early it's a nice surprise. I know everyone has probably said it to you already but try and enjoy these weeks to yourself. I know it's hard not to want baby to arrive though.

Hi sausage, I know I should be glad to have the time to myself, and it is nice, I'm just so uncomfortable! And I'm running out of things to entertain myself with!

But I know I will miss this time afterwards, so I shall be glad of it now!
