Hi Everyone

I am 4 days overdue and completely fed up!Can't sleep at night because of painful hips and heartburn from hell, and am just sick of sitting waiting around!Every pain comes with a desperate hope that it will turn into a contraction, even the ear ache I had yesterday was googled to see if this was a sign of labour (desperate times)

Plus on top of that, I can't deal with another message/phone call asking if I have had the baby yet, especially off close family members! What do they expect me to say- 'yes I had him last week, do you not follow me on twitter?'. Do they not think I would of been in contact as soon as I possibly could to tell them the good news!!

Anyway, I am just moaning now!Was just wondering if there are any fellow pregnant ladies due to pop any day now,and fancy a chat to pass time until our little bundles of joy arrive!

I'm due in 2 days 1st baby . no signs of anything yet . I'm feeling very calm and laid back .

leannac · 01/03/2013 20:01

Toddlers fever has broken, she's seeming better so I've just ordered a curry from the curry house I ate at the night before going into labour with dd!

Lets hope Amanda has started a domino effect of lovely water births!! Good luck all

catlady1 · 01/03/2013 20:13

Currently bouncing on my ball and scoffing a pizza with chili peppers and jalopenos. No sign of baby but my mouth is on fire!

christilass · 01/03/2013 20:28

Leannac...... i was awake the whole night 2 nights ago with period pain

leannac · 01/03/2013 20:36

Don't you all get to this time & start thinking, much as I want this baby out, I'm actually pretty tired tonight & wouldn't mind a good nights sleep. Benefit I guess of this being dc2 is that I'm under no illusions (as I was last time) that i will actually get more sleep when baby arrives!

Christilass, maybe you're next!?

phoenixrose314 · 01/03/2013 20:53

Haha yes leanne I am soooo emotionally wrecked today I just want to sleep and sleep and sleep... But at the same time, if baby decides to come now, I'll be over the moon!

Here's hoping for lovely straightforward water births all round :)

SausageMother · 01/03/2013 22:28

Spent most of the evening bouncing dutifully on the ball. Totally agree about being taken between enjoying getting more sleep now but still wanting baby to arrive. I was convinced that second babies come earlier. This one is obviously happy where it is.

Glad your DD is getting over her fever Leannac. Wonder what our little ones will think of the babies? DS is very much a mummy's boy and might be a bit shocked at having to share me!

Hope everyone sleeps well or if not at least gets to go into labour! Glad

WithNailandI · 02/03/2013 08:21

Chillies did nothing...:( Anyone else have any luck? Going to walk as much as I possibly can today!! SausageMother I am also feeling very nervous as to how DD will react. She is also very much a mummy's girl and 2.5 so very much in the 'Me, me, me, now, now, now" stage! How old is DS?

Learnnac glad your toddlers fever broke, that's a relief. Did the curry work? At night time I start getting stressed about childcare for DD and urge labour to start in the early hours so its easier to just call someone at a more respectable hour. Silly I think as I can't control it...

PhoenixRose hope you are feeling better today. I've read that crying can be a sign of impending labour...

Catlady I'm impressed with your bravery of chilli peppers and jalopenos!! The jalopenos wrecked me but I found drinking hot tea at the same time did really work to cool my mouth down...

Christalass definitely sounds promising. However it is frustrating this bring awake at night with nothing to show for it....grrrr!

leannac · 02/03/2013 08:30

Nothing for me. DD is v clingy to mummy today at 21 months old I am wondering (praying?!) if she's actually v intuitive & can sense new baby coming soon so is acting up a bit to try get our last time alone together as close as poss. Doesn't it reek of desperation that as I have utterly no symptoms myself for impending labour, I'm now checking my toddler for symptoms of physchic behaviour?!?!
She could still be bit run down I guess. Past few days I've weakened due to frustration, tiredness & all sorts of other hormones & have given DD her pressies off new baby already in order to keep her occupied ... I have no bribes left!!

phoenixrose314 · 02/03/2013 09:03

Well no signs yet, but I did wake up this morning thinking "It's going to be today!"

I'm either heading towards delusional, or having a bit of a psychic moment!! I've been doing everything I can to help it along, bouncing on ball for most of the morning, even resorted to scrubbing the kitchen floor! (Not something I will be trying again... yeouch!) Leanneac you made me giggle looking to your toddler for psychic behaviour - you never know!!

Keeping fingers crossed...

SausageMother · 02/03/2013 09:25

Nothing here either! 3 days over now.

Loving the looking to your toddler for any impending baby vibes leannac! DS is 20 months old and I have nearly given him his presents so many times but we have definitely been relying on cbeebies more than usual if I get tired! I imagine that will continue when the baby decides to arrives too!

Hope your positive feelings are a good sign Phoenixrose. At least you have a nice, clean floor if nothing else.

Not sure what my plans are today but might make a few batch lunches to freeze for DS - and bounce on the ball of course!

bbface · 02/03/2013 16:38

Hi all, I drop in and out. I just love reading about the babies arriving! Congratulations!!

I am 40 plus 3, and lost my mucus plug this afternoon. This is my second dc, and midwife said on thursday was 2cm dilated, but apparently this is very unexciting with a second timer.

Should I be excited by the loss of the plug? Or can this mean squat all??

SausageMother · 02/03/2013 17:03

I would be very excited by that bbface! Fingers crossed ....

bbface · 02/03/2013 17:24

Would you really sausage? (I love your name!)

But a quick google reveals that the loss of mucus plug is not an exciting sig. I lost it with DS in the throws of labour.

SausageMother · 02/03/2013 17:35

Oh, that's a shame. I thought it meant things would happen in the next day or two when you lose your plug. At least it's something. I am also 40+3 and waiting for cramps or backache as that's how it started last time but nothing yet. Even tried getting DS (which should of course be Darling Sausage!) to coax it out by getting him to say 'baby out' to my bump but I don't think he/she is listening!

MrsHBaby3 · 02/03/2013 19:12

I've had 2sweeps this week, apparently I'm 2cm. Getting bh but nothing exciting. My mum has done some reflexology pressure pts on my feet so hopefully that'll set it off. Also walking, swimming, etc. Come on baby!! (40+6)

leannac · 02/03/2013 19:24

Anyone? Anything? I've walked miles today, cried at a bus driver for not letting me on a bus with my pram, swore at DH for nothing really, wet myself a bit every time I had a coughing fit (every 10-15 mins!), have answered about 30 people with 'no, the baby hasn't come yet , oh ha ha yes we all thought it would be here by now') & been a generally miserable cow all day. DD clearly not psychic with her clingy-ness - no baby signs whatsoever!!

phoenixrose314 · 02/03/2013 20:00

Well I had two very promising contractions earlier... Terrible backache and uterus tightening... but clearly wasn't the start of anything as have stopped now. So disappointed think I might cry!! Poor hubby is trying to look after me but am feeling rather blue right now :(

Going to open a giant bag of Doritos and go to town. I wouldn't normally but really feeling the need to cheer myself up!! Send more contraction-y vibes my way if you can ladies xxx

leannac · 02/03/2013 21:46

Oh Phoenix rose - 2 contractions must be the start of sonething? Maybe baby can tell you need the Doritos fuel before going into proper labour? Good luck for tonight !

phoenixrose314 · 02/03/2013 22:09

Well I still have a backache but nothing else. Probably just false labour. Silly old me. It's scary when you've not done this before and have no clue what you're supposed to be feeling or what to expect.

Just very fortunate to have you lovely ladies to keep me company Grin and DH too who has done everything he can to perk me up tonight, letting me watch a trashy zombie film and bounce away on my ball... How is everyone else coping?

SausageMother · 03/03/2013 08:17

Just checking in. Nothing here - was really hoping DH wouldn't have to go back to work on Monday.

Hope something has kicked off for someone!

Kelerina · 03/03/2013 08:28

Hello ladies, can I join you?

I am now 40+3, had a sweep on Friday, thought things were kicking off, cramps all day Friday and overnight into Saturday, then Saturday morning- Nothing! Except what I think was part of a show?! Midwife had said that I was 2cm and very favourable! Blood pressure suddenly high (has been fine throughout pregnancy) and now am concerned I won't get the lovely birth centre pool birth i'd wanted.....but as long as he gets here safe. Where is he???? Why doesn't he want to come out??

And now I have a cold. Boo.

worsestershiresauce · 03/03/2013 08:59

40 + 3 here and nothing. Nada. Not a twinge. Was sent to hospital for a trace due to reduced movements, where everything was fortunately fine, so the midwife offered me a sweep. Why did no one warn me exactly just how awful this would be? Cervix was too high behind baby's head for the midwife to be able to do the necessary, but that didn't stop her sticking her whole hand up there and having a good old dig around. It really hurt, and bled, and felt like an assault (and I'm not someone who has ever been squeamish about smears of VEs). Never again....

I'm resigned to having to be induced now, as I can't see this baby coming out of her own accord. Depressed Sad

MrsHBaby3 · 03/03/2013 11:20

I think being overdue is really getting to me now. Keep bursting into tears at nothing (haven't been like that any other time- so what's that about? Is it a sign??). So restless and bored, but very little energy to do anything (esp sitting on that damned ball!)
I just want to go to sleep and wake up when labour starts.

AmandaCooper · 03/03/2013 13:26

Hi guys sorry I didn't set off the domino rally and everyone is still waiting. Sending you all labour vibes and hoping for quick straightforward births for everyone. I don't know if it was all the walking and bouncing that did it in the end or just time - but my waters broke mid bounce, so I wouldn't rule out a connection!

DS is absolutely scrummy he's sleeping next to me in his moses basket right now sozzled with milk. I can't believe it really I have to keep peeking at him and pinching myself!
