AND i meant lost not most my A-level certificates.

GRUMP GRUMP GRUMP

Hope everyone else is fine. I have had all the bad luck so all you will have a trouble free non-dappy preganacy!!!

mears · 26/01/2004 15:24

Cazzybabs - do what the lady told you Get all the necessary information organised into a folder and get your interview rearranged. That way, you may well have a place secured for your training. I don't understand your bit about needing a midwife of your own. You are allocated a preceptor in each clinical area you go to. You do not need to arrange your own.

Quackers · 26/01/2004 17:40

Cazzybabs is PG Mears!!! That's why she'll need her own!!! !!LOL

mears · 26/01/2004 17:43

I am giggling here - thanks for pointing that out Quackers. My brain is mush. Cazzybabs could still have her interview and secure a place on a later course once she has had the baby.

Quackers · 26/01/2004 17:56

Bless you! What a lovex

cazzybabs · 26/01/2004 18:04

I shall try and arrange another interview, but now I am not sure if I can afford two babies in full time nursery care.

MEARS get on with your eassy!!!! I am trying to finish one of my OU eassys too.

Quackers · 26/01/2004 18:20

CB, are you able to study at a centre that provides day care for your little ones, it''s usually subsidised. I know not everywhere doe it though. Good luck

steppemum · 26/01/2004 19:31

mears, you really made me giggle, what a sweet mistake!
costamum, I'm in Central Asia, so I'll be home for the birth. I'm now panicking about all the "NHS tourist" stuff. I am a British citizen, and pay NI contributions and am liable for British tax, but we work as charity volunteers (ie no salary) overseas, and so we have a cheap health care insurance which relies on us flying home to the Uk and using the NHS. When ds was born, my GP and the hospital were really supportive of us doing this, (I happened to be in the UK when I was 12 weeks preggers, and then went overseas again until 35 weeks). Now it looks as though it will be illegal for me to do this, despite PAYING for it through taxes and NI contributions.

Sorry, letting off steam a bit, and a bit panicky about arriving home and being charged for delivery. (maybe just a tad more hormonal than I thought.....)

Welcome crazzybabs, and congrats!

Quackers · 26/01/2004 19:36

I can't beleive that and yet asylum seekers and the like are able to get immediate free treatment! I just think if you have paid your taxes the least you should get is healthcare!!!You're even a citizen. I would be steaming a little too!

pollingfold · 27/01/2004 17:07

Steppemum

Worry not. The changes you are talking about are JUST IDEAS, they have yet to find out what the cost is of providing services to those who do not contribute to the UK system via tax, NI or the EU, let alone implement a way of stopping those people from receiving care, since it goes against the oath of all doctors to preserve life

You will be given care.

steppemum · 29/01/2004 10:01

thanks pollingfold, I hope they don't make any decisions in the next 9 months then!!

Ronniebaby · 30/01/2004 23:43

Well ladies at the start of this thread I was Bod, and expecting 6th Sept, sorry but you can count me out of the running, lost the bump last week, was supposed to be 7 weeks, and bump was only 5, then after scan lost it.

Well time to move on, and try again in about a month, when I eventually stop bleeding.

Life to short to dwell or worry or regret, it wasn't meant to be so move on. Maybe I'll be posting on a later one, who knows.

BekkiKay · 30/01/2004 23:51

Oh Ronniebaby I'm so sorry. This must be awful for you. You seem to be very strong about everything. I hope it doesn't take too long before you have some happy news. lol and hugs.

SpringChicken · 31/01/2004 12:41

Oh RonnieBabe - how awful

Hope you'll be back soon!

pollingfold · 31/01/2004 13:48

Ronnie

Sorry for the news, I was in the same position in June thread.

Great to here that you are staying positive, and as you say I'm sure that you will be back very soon, look where I am now...

Lots of luck

Quackers · 31/01/2004 14:01

So sorry Ronnie xxxx, be good to yourself and hope to see you on another pg thread in the not too distant future!

jacksmumto1 · 31/01/2004 16:41

So sorry Ronnie.... I wish you all the best for future bumps xx

cazzybabs · 02/02/2004 01:06

Ronnie - I am so sorry. Hope all goes well for the furture.

How is everyone else? I am not really anything yet - not sick or tired (well apart from a lack of sleep) and have been having stomach aches for the last few days and have been running off the loo to check for anything. Haven't even been to the doctor yet. I am so laid back this time - even had a small glass of wine at the w/e (i forgot that I couldn't drink) then spend the rest of the w/e feeling horribly guilty and I keep not taking my folic acid. Have moved it next to my makeup now so I will find it! Anyway must continue with my reports. Have also been filling the time looking at houses as we don't own one yet and live in a tiny house at the mo. They are all so expensive though!

pollingfold · 02/02/2004 11:23

Folic acid pills are always going astray in our house, I have threee packets of them around the house and still forget to take them every day.

I'm glad you mentioned stomach aches, I've been getting those and doing the loo chech thing, but I suppose it is just our bodies streching to make space.

Am extremely tired at the moment, end up going to sleep at 8pm and sleeping through alarm and DS at 7am. Trying to keep awake at work is a nightmare. Nausea is just starting to kick in, although thankfully no hewing yet, this is the part that I remember hating last time.

Also seem to cry at the most minor things, poor DH is having to tread very carefully at the mo.

How is everyone else, any tips on how to make the next few weeks bearable, how are those of you who are really suffering managing?

Dinny · 02/02/2004 16:07

Ronniebaby, so sad - lots of love to you.

niknik · 02/02/2004 19:48

Ronnie-baby I am so sad to hear of your loss. I can empathise with you entirely as I have had 2 m/c's within the space of 9 months and it leaves you feeling absoloutly devestated.

I fell again immediately after my last m/c so I hope that when the time is right for you to start trying again you will soon be pg again

steppemum · 03/02/2004 19:51

Ronniebaby, so sorry to hear about your loss, hears hoping you'll be on a other thread soon
hugs

Dinny · 04/02/2004 11:51

How is everyone doing on this thread? I am still lost in a land of pukiness. Just hoping it stops at 12 weeks....

pollingfold · 04/02/2004 12:42

Poor you Dinny, I have nausea but no puking yet!! Although I have managed to much my way through 3 packets of ginger biscuits in the last week, all under the excuse of warding off puking!!!

Have you got a date for a scan? I'm still waiting to see if I have got a place in the hosiptal I requested,

Dinny · 04/02/2004 15:07

Ooh, got mine through yesterday - 23 Feb. Seems ages away. Can't remember if I was feeling sick still at 12-week scan last time round.

Worried about my appalling nutrition at the moment - all I can keep down is cherryade (loathe it normally) and cranberry ice lollies. Can rarely keep vits down either.
