The rain was such a blessing this morning.

Debbsy - arh lovely to hear that you are feelings loads of movements etc. So if I am right you are going to find out the sex at the 20 week scan and keep the info to you and DH.........and us??Grin..........go on you know you want to !!

Rom - lovely to hear you and little one are doing well, yes must be a nightmare for her in this heat, bless

Well best get cracking ........seem to be on a wind down until maternity leave but seeing as that's not until the 11th August I think its just a case of me being a lazy cow!!Smile

MeAndMyBoy · 13/06/2006 19:21

Wooo Hooo fab news Handbag - congratulations on the safe and speedy arrival of Amy.

Bella sorry you're melting - hopefully the cooler days to come with be easier. It's hit me today, just have no energy and can't motivation myself to do anything.

Cadmum · 13/06/2006 20:24

Congratulations Handbag!!!

Welcome baby Amy.

I am off to the Dr. with DD1 who has ann infection /abcess under her arm but I will post later.

Frizbe · 14/06/2006 20:31

Shock ouch for dd1 caddy, hope she's better soon

Grin CONGRATS to Handbag and Amy Grin well done on that fab quick labour!

Rom, horrible weather for tinies isn't it, I went with windows wide open, nappy and vest too, or nappy and very low tog grow bag, which did the trick here, with lots of extra boob milk.....in fact dd2 spent virtually the whole of monday attached to boob, poor hot little mite...

DebbsyandBibby · 14/06/2006 22:11

hi all just a quick post as off to bed now.
Midwife appointment went really well she was really nice this time, found bibbys heartbeat straight away and it was at 156bpm any ideas??
Congrats on little Amy handbag beautiful name too xx
check in again tomorrow xx

Bella23 · 15/06/2006 10:01

Oh dear poor little one Caddy - hope they get it sorted.
Debbsy - I think my midwife told me that a fast heartbeat is supposed to be a girl.......

Well not a lot to report here really. We have finished decorating the nursery and had new carpets fitted yesterday so sat in there last night and imagined how life will be different in a few months...........very exciting!
Just need some furniture now so going this weekend to have a look, can't wait.

Hope everyone is well............ xx

romilly · 15/06/2006 19:46

awww bella - bless! so cute that you have finished the nursery.

debbsy - GIRL!!!!!!!!!! romi's h/b was always around 155 - boys are usually 140 ish

caddy - hope DD is ok, poor thing

friz - thank god its cooler 2day. hope it lasts.....

Frizbe · 15/06/2006 23:24

Debsey, defo girl, fast heartbeat!
Bella, congrats on the nursery!
Rom,how are you all doing?
We had a mare last night......
dd1 had decided to take her nappy off in her sleep at 3am, que one very wet bed, 1st I knew about it was when she came into our room and tried to get into our bed with nothing on.....so I took her back to find her jammies, and nappy to find a rather wet bed....changed that and her and then for reasons known only to her, she charged into our room and screamed.....I'm guessing cause I'd just uttered the words 'come on lets get you back into bed...'Que dd2 getting woken up, so I then got to do a big feed for 3/4 of an hour, both boobs....as she thought it was breakfast time....then dh got up for work, and you can guess the rest......and here I am like a nutter still awake now and typing away on here!

Anyway off camping for the weekend, Wales again Munz! same place!! so have a good one ladies and catch you all next week!

Munz · 16/06/2006 09:12

morning girls - nightmare night last night - joey own bed own room = mummy having no sleep! :( up every 1.5 hours thinking of moving him back in with me but don't really wantto do that if I can help it.

HA - well done u big congrats to u and the fmaily, and welcome to little amy.

debs - few other q's, a) were u sick at all early on? b) is it a strong heartbeat easily found? c) have u had any errotic dreams? (I have a theory u see! lol)

bella - congrats on the nursey, how far are you now?

MM&B - hope you're looking after yourself honney. u take things easy now.

rom - tbh with Joey we've been leaving all the windows wide open upstairs/.doors and he's been in his vest/nappy and swaddled in a thin blanket, but the room's only been 21oC so it's been ok for him.

anyhow best have a quick shower/get back down to the boy incase he screams don't wanna give DH any excuse not to sit up tonight! lol.

Munz · 16/06/2006 09:13

friz - where is it u go in wales again? will miss the house/location thou.

Munz · 16/06/2006 09:26

also did this \link{http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=1700&threadid=181670&stamp=060612081800\latest Joey piccy}

Cadmum · 16/06/2006 12:29

Munz: Sorry to hear about Joey not sleeping... Fairly standard for my little ones as well; hence the reason that I just kept them in with us. (Probably not the answer that you wanted to hear.) My options seemed to be sleep with the baby or spend my nights wandering between rooms and my days wandering about like the living dead.

DD1 needs to see a dermatologist because the pediatrition doesn't 'lance' things.

DH's new employer is playing new games and although we should be set to move for July 1, our effects cannot be moved for another 3 weeks from either NYC or the house in Canada. ARGH!! I am not keen on the idea of being stuck here with 4 little monkeys that are anxious to be with their dad. Sad Angry

Bella23 · 16/06/2006 12:50

hello all

Caddy - life is never smooth is it! So will you have to wait another 3 weeks before you go over? Is there anybody you can throw a fit out to get it sorted any quicker?

Rom - lovely to hear from you. On the basis of your heartbeat rate I reckon I am having a boy but I did have a vivid dream the other night about having a girl so who knows!!

Friz - thanks for asking, am well apart from having a crap night's sleep last night due to hip pain keeping me awake! Anybody else remember having this? I get it about once a week and it really keeps me awake especially seeing as i can only sleep on my side!

Munz - how adorable is he !!Grin

Another glorious weekend ahead........lots of cold baths for me I think!

CantSleepWontSleep · 16/06/2006 16:22

Congratulations Handbag and welcome to Amy - what a quick labour!!

Rom - Pippa really struggling with the heat too. She wore just a nappy and swaddled in thin sheet during the worst of it, but the night that her room didn't drop below 28 degrees she woke at 1am and screamed for 3 hours until I walked her round the garden in her pushchair and then she slept in that in the living room (in front of open patio doors) with me on the sofa! Unfortunately looks set to be really hot over the weekend again, so not sure how we will cope this time.

Bella - I had some hip pain, which developed into groin pain too with a mildish case of SPD. The bad news is that the groin pain hasn't gone yet - apparently it takes longer to recover from if still breastfeeding.

Munz - congrats to DH.

Cads & MAMB - cyber hugs to you both. MAMB - there were some threads on antenatal depression a while back - might be worth having a look to see if they offer any help, even if just to know that you aren't alone in feeling like this.

Friz - enjoy the weekend camping.

Debs - def think you need to tell us the sex if you find out!

DebbsyandBibby · 16/06/2006 18:14

hi all munz sorry your having a hard time with dhs work,Joey is goooorrgeous xxxx and in answer to your questions i was sick fropm week 6 to 15 weeks, heartbeat was found straight away and yes i have had a few erotic dreams Blush!!
m and mb how did the scan go?
Bella how have you done the nursery what type?
in answer to everyones question yes i will tell you if i decide to find out hee hee
cadmum ((((((((hugs))))))))))
and hello to everyone else xx

Munz · 16/06/2006 18:47

ooh debs i'm voting for a boy then Wink

bella how about u? anything similar for u?

not sure what we're doing with JOey tonight - althou after feeling his gums properly today witht he gel/my finger there's a tooth pointing out of the skin on the side - it's def not one of the front 2 whioc are ment to come thru first, this looks more like one of the fang ones (position wise) would prob explain his grumpiness last night. he's slept most of today thou.

romilly · 16/06/2006 19:55

munz - romi is just starting to teeth as well. which gel is best to use? and any other teething tips to relieve their sore gums?

CSWS - sorry to hear pippa is suffering too. i really hope it doesnt go up to 28 again - its toooooooooo hot for the little 'uns.

friz - lol @ your post, i so hear you on the 3/4 hour feed, been there done that!

DebbsyandBibby · 16/06/2006 22:56

when i worked in pharmacy ladies i always recommended ashton and parson teething powders as they contain camomile v v soothing and v v good xx

Munz · 17/06/2006 11:19

yep deb's is right we're using the ashtons now - althou beware - Joey had a n explosive nappy this morning and a second one was green in coulour i'm assuming it's that that's caused it - he has half a sashet int eh morning/afternoon when he's really bad. apart form that we're using the calpol gel for 3m +, we did have the dentanox which if u ask me is the same but HD favours the smell of the calpol one and tbh Joey seems to settle better on that one. def don't use bonjella - there's an artical about it (must ask mum what one again) apparenlty it's really bad for little ens.

ahy been there with the 3/4 hour feeds - althou now a long feed for Joey is 20 mins! lol. I feel the longer the feed the longer they'll last - not always thou, DH gave him a bottle of EBM last ngiht - he took 7 oz the guzzler! lol. althou by day now he's taking 4oz instead of 3 so guess he's grown up over the last 3 weeks :(

romilly · 17/06/2006 22:33

thanks debbsy and munzie - will try the powders. glad you warned me about green poo - that would have given me a shock!

seems its another hot night again 2nite - got all the fans on and windows open. come back clouds!

hope everyone is enjoying their weekends, and bella and her bump are not getting too overheated!

Bella23 · 18/06/2006 07:50

Morning all ladies

Am up at this time on a Sunday - why why why !
Well cat decided to bring his toy mouse into the bedroom for a play so woke us all up and I find it difficult to go back to sleep once I am disturbed!

Well I reckon based on the heartbeat theory that I am having a boy as I think my little one is 142 or near there. Also have always had a feeling its a boy - mind you had a very vivid dream the other night that it was a girl so who knows!

I have done the nursery in lemon and are buying white nursery furniture, once we get to see our little one I have found some great transfers to put on the walls - space, underwater, fairies etc. Just depends if its a boy or a girl.

Went and bought a pram yesterday and ended up paying £550 for a travel system thing - I think the shop assistant must have seen a pair of over eager first time parents coming!!Shock
Oh well its nice and the colour I wanted so what the hell!

A question for you ladies. I was planning on having the little one sleep in our room for the first 1 month and then put them in the nursey but was reading somewhere yesterday that the recomendation is that they should be in with you for the first 6 months...is this true? Thoughts please as would prefer to get them settled in their own room early on???

Poor little ones with teeth coming through..........gosh its amazing how early on they get them.

Can't sleep - hip pain has now gone but will expect it back in another week probably, very strange. Must be a weekly growth thing!

Debbsy - oooh cool we get to know the sex if you find out.....exciting!! When is the next scan?

Well I hope everyone is managing to avoid the heat, I am lying on the sofa lots when its really hot eating ice-cream - its the only thing that helps!!
Caddy - what's the weather like where you are?

DebbsyandBibby · 18/06/2006 10:24

hi Bella glad the hip pain is better:) ahh nursery sounds lovely we have decided on the treacle and bubble range from lollipop lane its lemon cream and very pale green its beautiful.20week scan is on the 11th july at 10.15am (which is my birthday) so an extra suprise if we decide to find out, still in 2 minds.Well hope everyone is enjoying the weekend and the teething babies arent too poorly. xx

Nemo1977 · 18/06/2006 10:37

hi all

bella lol best get used to trying to go back to sleep after being disturbed hun otherwise every move baby makes will have you pacing the roomWink

Debsy love colour scheme you have picked...about finding out the sex there are plus sides to both and negatives
With ds was great to know as we could really get ready for him and named him etc however was also less excitment in the announcement iykwim.
With DD we didnt know which was frustrating in trying to sort out clothes etc and only soo much white and cream you can buy. However the moment we had her and dh said its a girl was amazing and loved phoning everyone to say we had a girl.
This time we dont know if we will find out or not...although if we do will help with sorting out the binbags full of clothes we have..lol

Well I have my scan tommorow and am petrified. Am convinced all has gone wrong as I dont feel pregnant at all...if things are wrong then I dont think we will be trying again as it will be one mc too many iykwim.

Love to all cadders hope you manage to sort something out about you all moving together..I really dont know how you do it [hugs]]
