Morning Ladies,

I'm sorry the m/s has kicked in, Nemo, I hope it's short lived for you.

Go Little Rom Go Litle Rom - what a fab DD.

Friz lol at your DD2 playing her cot toy - she was obviously happy so didn't need a feed which is why you didn't wake up :)

Well Midwives was excellent, the consultant the next day was bloody awful. Apparently Ds was underweight when born 7lb 5oz!! and they need to keep an extra eye on this one - 4 extra scans! would be nice to have the extra scans without the stress of being told this one is small too.

I'm only 5"4 what do they want - for me to turn into Burger King and produce a 9lb whooper.

I also have to have a drip during labour and delivery to prevent PPH - as I bled quite a bit last time and ended up very anaemic. Not happy about the needles involved.

HandbagAddiction · 26/05/2006 19:45

Just a quick check in from me - nothing major to report and up until about an hour ago I would have said I've got ages to go yet...however it did dawn on me earlier that I have been having some period like pains throughout today and then whilst dd was in the bath tonight, I had Braxton hicks like contractions every 5 minutes for a while - very light though and not entirely sure what they should feel like as I did get any with dd and these are the first I've experienced this time around! So who knows...maybe this baby will appear on time after all - EDD is Sunday.

Managed to avoid a conversation with the MIL today through call screening. She - like last time - has taken to calling every few days to see 'if' anything is happening - flaming annoying if you ask me.

Anyway - depending on what happens I'll try and catch up with everyone's news over the weekend but for the meantime - hope you#re all OK and big congratulations to Nemo!!! Smile

MeAndMyBoy · 27/05/2006 18:52

Wow handbag that sounds promising - fingers crossed for you I'll be sending you lots of labour vibes over the weekend.

Hello everyone else sorry i havent been around much but had a very painful back,so much so the Dr sent me for another scan on friday just to reassure me,Bibby was absolutely fine opening and closing fists whizzing around, and bouncing around on my bladder which is pushing into my back,so thats why i have a bad back, just as long as bibby is ok,i can put up with anything.oh and now measuring 12.7cm so seemed huge on the scan.
love to all will catch up soon xx

DebbsyandBibby · 28/05/2006 09:52

Nemo1977 · 29/05/2006 17:12

Oh Nemo! I am so pleased to hear that all is still well. What a huge relief. Take care of yourself.

MeAndMyBoy · 30/05/2006 09:31

Fab news nemo so pleased for you. Had my finges crossed for you yesterday.

HandbagAddiction · 30/05/2006 11:01

Well no news from me yet! Lots of niggles and I've been getting period like pains for a few days off and on but it's all materialising into nothing! Now 2 days overdue and beginning to climb the walls a little. Took dd to one of the local farm places yesterday in the hope that some physical exertion might encourage this baby to come out...but alas - it was all in vain and I just ended up knackered instead! Got an appointment with the midwife this afternoon but the local hospital allows you to go 14 days over, so I'm unlikely to get an induction date (although I'm hoping it won't come to that) until next week at the earliest!

Maybe some more cleaning this afternoon might help.....

Anyway - hope everyone else is OK. Great to hear the positive news about your scan Nemo and also glad to hear from Debbsy that all is OK and the backache is just being caused by the beany!!

Will let you all know if anything exciting happens.....

Love to all. xx

dinosaure · 30/05/2006 11:01

Come on HandbagAddiction, go for 1 June - like I said, it's my birthday!

HandbagAddiction · 30/05/2006 11:09

For you Dino - I'll try. Just off the clean the bathroom...and then I'll tackle the kitchen again....

MeAndMyBoy · 30/05/2006 11:09

Handbag think your ears must have been burning I've had a search round this morning to see if there was any news about you. Fingers crossed it happens soon for you, Sex worked for me, but I had been having on off contractions all day.

Sending you lots of labour vibes xx

Dinosaure - happy birthday for tomorrow :)

dinosaure · 30/05/2006 12:41

Thank you!

And best wishes to everyone on this thread - I'll be checking for birth announcements when I come back at the weekend!

DebbsyandBibby · 31/05/2006 12:39

fingers crossed handbag ((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))

Frizbe · 31/05/2006 21:11

Go handbag, go handbag Smile
Nemo Smile glad all ok with scan and beanie
well quick report here, dd2 fine with camping, dd1, no so much anymore Sad hated rain on canvas, and the wind, oh and the dark! argh, none of this was a problem before she hit 2....dh ended up sleeping in her compartment with her all weekend, apparently she fidigits all night Grin can safely say dd2 didn't and we had a nice double airbed to ourselves Smile

CantSleepWontSleep · 01/06/2006 08:47

Hello all. Been ages since I've been on this thread and can't possibly catch up with everything now, but have had a quick skim read of some of the messages.

Glad to hear that all is going well still for Bella, Debbsy, MAMB and Nemo.

Come on Handbag - hurry up and have that baby!

All feels a little calmer here this week. We have at last discovered the reason for a lot of Pippa's distress and screaming - she has a cows milk protein intolerance, so if I eat dairy then she suffers pain. Around 30-40% of babies with this also suffer a soya allergy, but I have yet to establish whether DD is one of them, so I'm off cereal breakfasts altogether until I can find somewhere that sells rice milk (does it taste cr@p does anyone know??).

We've also managed to establish a bedtime routine at last, with DD now sleeping in her cot in the nursery, instead of in with me.

Hope everyone is well - saw reference to cadmum needing a docs appointment, but didn't see what for, so hope everything is ok there.

Munz · 01/06/2006 18:45

hey all,

just a quick note still at mums - joey had 4 days of screming and being unsettled so not really done a lot as he's been up every 1.5 hours by day.

nemo - glad all's well with u.

HA - come on girl will look in again for your BA - good luck hon.

anyhow will stop in again hopefully towards the end of the week.

MeAndMyBoy · 01/06/2006 22:15

Friz so glad that you got to go away - even if it wasn't quite the weekend DH was hoping for. Fingers crossed that DD1 will be better with camping next time you go.

CSWS - lovely to see you and I bet your glad you've got to the bottom of Pippa's distress, sounds like things are moving in the right direction - don't think rice milk is that horrid - soya milk on the other hand is vile stuff - couldn't you mix nesquick in to mask the taste if it really is horrid? I'm sure I've seen it in the bigger Tesco stores.

Munz - hope you're doing ok hun xx

Cadmum how's it going? have you been to the doc's yet?

Bella how are you getting on?

Wendy if you are about - you're in my thoughts and hope you are ok.

Handbag - where is that birth announcement? sending you lots of labour vibes hope that things start really soon for you.

Hi to everyone else hope you've all had sunshine today and got a chance to enjoy it too.

H x

Frizbe · 02/06/2006 22:14

CSWS sorry didn't mention on Feb thread, but glad you found out about allergy and here's hoping she grows out of it (have friends who used to be allergic when younger, but ok once reached teens!) Good luck with the rice milk, bet tescos/sainsburys have it in the gluten free etc section.
Munz, Sad is it a growth spurt, he's about 14/16 weeks now ?
Handbag hope things are ok Smile
Here's hoping you all have fantastic weekends, dh is working again tomorrow.....so unsure what to do with 3 kids in tow, probably nothing!

Munz · 04/06/2006 12:08

friz - he's now 14.5 weeks Shock but he settled down on weds/thurs so was good - even went from 10.30 to 5.30am just grizles for his dummy. dreading the w/e when I go home as he'll prob do the growth spurt then, alhtou we have about 9 bottles of EBM in the freezer so not to worried about feeding.

bella - just had a quick scan and yes ignore the books, feed on demand when baby crys, (and ignore whateva ppl tell u about feeding, u do waht u feel is right for your baby, ignore the has to be on for so long and has to suckle contiunasly) my only advice there is don't use a dummy too early, if u do want to, MIL gave joe one from 3 weeks old and I had no end of trouble with his latch so in the end I copped the needle and stopped it as it was being used to shut him up and drag feeding hims out to 3/4 hours instead of 2.

Baby whisperer works well for us Joey's more or less done it himself, althou i've also kept in mind after feeding we have a little play - when he was first born that was a bottom change and a bit of a chat, then he zonked out, now it's about 10 mins on the play mat, the thing is thou even those things aren't brill - they recon 45 mins feeding 45 mins play 1.5 hours naps - but joey's thing is 20 mins feed, 30 mins play 45 mins nap then feed after 2 hours in the am, then awake for an hour after he's started his feeding, then 2 hour nap (sometimes 2.5) over/around 11am, then feed play sleep for 45 mins and so it goes on! lol. in the early days in the evenings I was feeding every 2 hours from about 4pm till about 8/9. we try to keep a bed time routein well we do keep the routein but not the time - that's out the window, we tried it and it badly back fired so really I think baby will do/settle as and when baby's ready.

anyhbow best get off Joey's about to wake in a bit, and I want to get his toy's out to play - lol, how sad am I a trip to babies r us and i'm happy for hours! lol.

Frizbe · 04/06/2006 22:10

lol at your trip munz Smile small things keep us mums happy!
The feb threaders have reminded me there is a 16-20wk growth spurt coming up, you have been warned, apparently it involves loosing all sense of night time feed scenarios for some Sad lets hope that's not the case for us......I've just about run out of frozen EBM at the moment, am struggling to find the time to express more than twice a day at present (which just about does the evening bottle for dh to do, although didn't last night, so we had to have a boob top up) so might get a spot of formula in for dh's feeds this week, so I can sit and express in peace then, as my expressed flow has dropped from what it was for ? reason (baby drinking more me thinks) but I need to try and keep it going/replenish the freezer stock for emergencies/impending hen do in July, so reckon a few feeds of formula won't harm and will give me a headstart on freezer back up! (or am I just kidding myself here....)
Hope you've all had fab weekends Smile

Bella23 · 05/06/2006 09:09

Morning everyone

Not been on last week as had my parents down and have been mega busy.
My parents were real stars and have done lots of housey stuff like paint window ledges, revamp our garden etc.
We have now started painting the nursery so all very exciting and very real! My mum also arrived with a huge bag of baby stuff so am actually starting to believe that a little one is on the horizon!!

Munz - thanks for the tips on the books. I have started to read a couple and there is a lot to take in so I think you are right in seeing what baby wants and taking that lead.

Handbag - any news yet??

Well just a quickie this morning as have a mountain of work to get through - love to all the ladies. Caddy - been to the docs yet??

DebbsyandBibby · 05/06/2006 10:48
