I think I'm in labour but I don't know

Its agony. Every ten to fifteen minutes my lower abdomen and back become so severely painful it makes me loose my breath and want to cry.
I don't know if it's real. I'd had a tough time of it today (another thread) and have been bouncing on my ball, but now I'm really hurting and I don't know if this is it?
I just want to sleep but just as I get settled ur starts again.

Sounds possible. You need to call your midwife or the hospital and let them know you'll probably be in soon. Good luck!

ilovehugs · 11/09/2012 23:22

Could well be. When you get the feeling, breath in through your nose and out through your mouth, really slowly. I had a doula with my last labour and that one breathing technique really helped so much. Labour doesn't have to be agony. Don't let yourself get stressed as that can slow things down. Just breath, stay calm and let go. Good luck x x x x x x

Flisspaps · 11/09/2012 23:22

That sounds like it!

booksandchoc · 11/09/2012 23:24

If your pains are regular then you are probably in labour, phone the hospital and get checked out.

Pickles77 · 11/09/2012 23:26

It's agony. I've been in hospital
Already today they didn't seem that fussed by me Sad
Told not to do anything until they are more regular.

But they are regular! I'd ring them again, good luck!

booksandchoc · 11/09/2012 23:30

Do you have someone to advocate for you? Midwifes not listening to me meant that I only made it to hosp 15 mins before dd was born. If it wasn't for my mum forcing me into the car she would have been born in my bathroom.

Pickles77 · 11/09/2012 23:33

Right haven't had one for fifteen, but moved to the ball as its a bit comfier

Just keep timing them, if they get closer phone the hospital. I've lurked on ur threads, I think your very brave pickles
and your going to be a wonderful mum.

Pickles77 · 12/09/2012 00:06

Eight mins apart

pinpan · 12/09/2012 00:39

Good luck! My midwife said to call when they're 5 minutes apart, so you're getting there. Grin (I'm in NZ so wide awake and happy to attempt to distract you in the middle of your night. Wink)

pinkyp · 12/09/2012 00:42

Maybe the wind will keep the dog away Grin. Hopefully you're not alone but have a virtual hand to squeeze! Have you tried a bath? I found it hard to get in but lively once in.
