Hi all. No more babies?! Sad

Am cooking curry and about to section some off for me and make super hot. Tonight's plan, spice the baby out!!!!! Wink

used2bthin · 14/06/2012 19:34

how abou dairynips she sounded promising?!

I had my sweep. My stupid cervix has returned to posterior despite being pulled down on tues and themidwife said I am nowhere near! Also it was very painful her trying and I then got really stressed out that I won't dilate again, the baby will get stuck , its getting bigger, what if my labour last time caused my DD's issues etc etc (hormonal wittering) and also that my anti biotics finished today-the dentist said she'd give me five days worth to hopefully see me through till after the birth ha ha!

The upshot was the midwofe rang hospital to see if she could get me in with an obstetrician to discuss it all and see if they'd induce before 42 weeks. There were no appointments but on the grounds of what she said they offered to book me in tomorrow to begin induction Shock

Not sure how I feel now-a bit guilty tbh at forcing the baby out without a major reason but also very relieved as was driving myself insane worrying about it all. And terrified of the tooth flaring up again and getting ill with that.

DairyNips · 14/06/2012 20:17

usedto Sorry the sweep didn't go too well but good that you're going to be induced tomorrow! No more waiting for you!Smile

I'm afraid nothing to report here, crampyness, more mucus, general knackeredness.. Yawn

used2bthin · 14/06/2012 20:29

oh poor you. I am scared they will change thier mind when I get there! And scared that I am doing the wrong thing! But midwife said she feels I would be induced anyway in the end.

Have you got induction booked?

DairyNips · 14/06/2012 20:31

Try not to worry, the midwife must have a good idea of how things will go if she thinks you'll end up being induced anyway.. How far over are you now?

I'm booked for induction at 42 weeks, on wed 20th.. I tried to get it earlier but they said no wayHmm

used2bthin · 14/06/2012 20:50

I think I was very lucky my midwife rang for a second opinion on the tooth abcess situation because I think she really argued my case. Otherwise it would have been next friday- I am 40+7 tomorrow.

She just wanted me to be in before next fri don't think she expected them to say tomorrow so either they thought it best to be quick or its just they had a slot. Bit worried they will change thier minds when they see me not in agony with the tooth any more! Mind you its still on and off hurting and am out of anti biotics now. In so much pain still from the sweep every time the baby moves it pushes on my cervix and is so painful, tiny bit of bloody discharge too but nothing major.

justwantcheese · 14/06/2012 21:14

usetobethin good luck tomorrow and I hope that tooth gets better!
How's it going dairy ? I'm booked in for the 20th now aswell.
array enjoy your super got curry, hope it does the job.
Good luck jesse with the 2nd sweep tomorrow, hope its not too uncomfortable for you and does the trick.

Felt really low today, cannot stand this waiting around, when nothing at all is happening. Can't go anywhere no car but also don't want to be too far from home.
Friends are all working In the daytime.
What can I do to amuse myself ?

used2bthin · 14/06/2012 21:35

thanks justwantcheese at least my strep b anti biotics will help with the abcess too!

I've been low too justwantcheese its impossible not being able to do much but also being bored. I have spent a lot of money this week as keep going shopping!

DairyNips · 14/06/2012 22:02

usedto I'm sure they won't change their mind about the induction, they have no idea how much pain you're in with your tooth. It's not like you're lying about it anyway, it really has been hurting a lot and doesn't sound completely better yet.
Sorry you're in pain after your sweep, last thing you needSad

justwants ooh, an induction buddy! Let's hope we both go in to labour before then.

Just had a curry here, worth a try.. Having a bit of a cramp here and there but no pattern. Have decided to ignore all cramps/contractions until I get ones that I simply can't ignore.. If that ever happens!

DairyNips · 14/06/2012 22:05

Meant to say, I am feeling ever hormonal today. As I left the house earlier to pick ds1 up from nursery I swung the gate closed behind me. I didn't quite walk forwards quickly enough though and it caught the back of my ankle and scraped down it taking the skin offSad It was so bloody painful and I just felt like it was the straw that broke the camels back! I had to blink away the tears as I drive to nursery cause I just felt at the end of my tether.. Fed up, uncomfortable, in pain, urgh!

I still feel like I could cry at nothing at all, I might just have to to get it out of my system!

used2bthin · 15/06/2012 02:29

Crying loads too. Have actually felt really down the last week, sort of in a dream world but very unhappy. We must have so many hormones flying about.

used2bthin · 15/06/2012 02:31

also i cried because the two pregnant facebook friends i knew were due at same time posted pics of thier new babies Blush

StarlightOverJuicy · 15/06/2012 03:38

Having some painful BH but backache is constant and feel desperate to poo!

EmilyD2012 · 15/06/2012 06:28

After three long days our brave little man Alfie Stanley Hughes finally arrived by c-section at 4.24, weighing 8 pounds 13. We think he is perfect and was well worth the wait.

Good luck to everyone else, will keep checking in to see how you all get on.

sewingandcakes · 15/06/2012 07:19

Huge congratulations Emily, well done! Enjoy your little man xxx

To everyone else: I hope things don't take too long and you can stay positive. I had a down day yesterday, went for my 1st sweep and cervix is very posterior. 40+6 today and other than slight bleeding after ththe sweep there's nothing. It's my ds2's 5th birthday next Friday and i'm making myself stressed that i'm going to both miss it by delivering baby, and ruin it for the rest of his life by having the baby on the same day....

I need to distract myself so going to clean the whole house then go shopping.

How is everyone else doing today? x

DairyNips · 15/06/2012 07:36

Morning allSmile

Emily massive congratulations!!GrinLovely name and a good weight! Hope you're recovering well.

sewing I feel your pain.. For my finger and toes crossed you go in to labour before your ds's birthday..

Usedto How are you now? Not surprised at you crying at pics of friends newborns.. Think I'm close to that point myself despite being super happy for them. I just want my baby!

Star Ooh, sounding very promising!! How are you now??

Today is the day my ds said baby will arrive, I'd love him to be right but I'll not be holding my breath. Had a few contractions since I got up but just trying to ignore them. I keep getting one off contractions then nothing for an hour or two. What's the point of that?!

DairyNips · 15/06/2012 07:37

got my fingers and toes crossed..

used2bthin · 15/06/2012 08:14

Ah Emily congratulations! What a long time for you bet you were so pleased to finally hold him!

Star wow that sounds promising! Dairy hope your DS is right!

I had a lot of pain in the night from the stupid sweep and still sensitive but no signs other than that. 40+7 today.

DD is a state all nervous energy and odd noises bbecause I have explained as far as I can but its not easy. Poor her at least she will have fun at my parents and in a way its easier on her than if I was going off int he night or something I think although maybe the thought of it all is worse.

DairyNips · 15/06/2012 08:18

Hey usedto what time to you have to go in for induction?

runlolarun10 · 15/06/2012 08:51

Right, I've been lurking, but I'm now officially joining in please (if you'll have me) as this baby is due today and it's showing absolutely no signs of making an appearance Angry

used2bthin · 15/06/2012 08:58

dairy at 3pm. Terrified! Not sure what scares me more-them saying they are too busy and sending me home or the actual process! DD said see you soon baby as she left, ah! Hope she does, had been deliberately calm and vague about what I was doing in case it took days but tbh should've known better as she thinks I'm going to "get baby out" every time I go to the shops! How are you now any more pains?

runlolarun welcome! It is so frustrating this baby waiting business.

Right, I have decided I absolutely need to get DD a new rain mac before I go so I am going to shower and get that plus fathers day cards and gifts. They may end up being bizarre because I am too scared to concentrate.

Kveta · 15/06/2012 09:36

good luck used - my induction was fine (not so much the eventual birth...). they monitored me for an hour, then did internal exam, then gave me the gel at 7pm, and I had to lie still for an hour, still being monitored, then that was it! I was going to be examined again between 2 and 3am, and potentially given another dose of gel, but had started contractions by then. as my last labour was stop/start for 2 days (before they hooked me up to a drip on the 3rd day), this one felt very rapid in comparison!!

used2bthin · 15/06/2012 09:51

thanks kveta mine was very slow too and involved induction eventually and nil by mouth etc ready for the c section they thought may have to happen. Good to hear it isn't always the same second time. Quite worried about the actual gel and pessary bit as the sweep was so sore too and am still really tender there. But I know thats not much compared to the birth! I had wanted to avoid epidural but I may take that back I think as was so glad I had had one with dd in the end.

Kveta · 15/06/2012 10:07

my epidural didn't work this time, but gas and air was good until I ended up in theatre! then the spinal was brilliant :o

my labour was much quicker this time, and had DD not got stuck, would have been a very straightforward delivery! and I found the midwifes at the hosp were very gentle with internals. hope all goes well for you :)

DairyNips · 15/06/2012 10:28

usedto hope it all goes straight forward for youSmile Both my inductions were pretty quick once they got going. First time I just needed pesssary and second time they slipped that bit as they were able to break my waters and then I went on the drip after a few hours.

Not getting many signs here, more show, surely there can't be much more, been losing mucus since Sunday now! Slightly crampy down below but nothing more. Feel like crying again, maybe I could just cry until the baby arrives?
