No she just asked if she wanted to try pethedine instead.

I've been having contractions since I had a show at about 5am. It all seems to have calmed down now though Sad

I put the pool up and my god it's lovely in there. Just got out to let some water out so it can be topped up with warm water again.

StarlightWithAsteroid · 19/06/2012 09:26

Ooh, good luck McK!

jessebuni · 19/06/2012 10:19

Grrrr!!!! How dare people be having their babies and not me lol! No congratulations ladies! I'm glad you're little ones are finally arriving and you're suffering is over! I am still sat at 41+2 and after 3 sweeps cervix still thick, posterior and only 1-2cm! Getting severely peed off about it since with DS I was walking around at 3cm for weeks beforehand and went into labour the day before my due date.

I had a totally natural birth last time, even though they told me i had to have him in a hospital because he'd be massive and I'd more than likely not be able to have a natural birth (they estimated 10-11lbs he came out 8lbs!) My whole labour was under 4hours and I had no pain relief but they kicked my partner out of the hospital less than an hour after i'd had the baby because it was midnight. So i sat on the ward and balled my eyes out unable to sleep and in total panic (i was 19 and first time mum and they didn't ask if i happened to need any help with anything or showing how to do anything) so this time i REALLY don't want to go into hospital at all. I want a home birth but unfortunately induction date is looming and ruining my hopes of another natural easy birth.

DizzyKipper · 19/06/2012 10:46

Good luck for today Pink, and also to rrray and cheese for tomorrow, seems like the group is really getting a move on with getting these babies out now which is good.

McKayz very jealous of your show and contractions but also very excited for you Grin Not been through labour before but me and DH are both so excited about the moment when we know it's finally begun and either my waters burst all over the place or I start getting contractions.

jesse that sounds really awful, I'd hate to be without my DH after such a momentous event. We're also going for a home birth. fx for you that the LO comes before induction date does, when is it?

jessebuni · 19/06/2012 10:53

the midwife said probably friday night but i may be able to put them off a little bit IF i've had some sign of progress. she's doign another sweep thursday (she's not really supposed to do a 4th one apparently) IF I've shown some sign of dilating further or my cervix thinning etc then maybe I can put them off a little longer but if not then the chances are she won't come out by herself before 42 weeks so they'll be pushing for induction.

i don't know how to get my cervix to be more ready! with my son it did it by itself, this time it didn't and i've tried everything! EPO and LOADS of sex and as much walking as i can manage with SPD and i've made no progress in 3 weeks!

DizzyKipper · 19/06/2012 10:57

Oh dear, walking and SPD Sad Unfortunately I don't think there's anything that really does help, it just happens when it happens as much as it'd be nice to be able to move things along. But there's been so many times on here I've seen other ladies say the LO made an appearance just before they were booked for the induction, hopefully it'll be an ironic induction date for you too.

jessebuni · 19/06/2012 11:08

fingers crossed :/

McKayz · 19/06/2012 11:08

Everything has stopped. Last contraction was about 45 mins ago.

I really could do with a sleep.

sewingandcakes · 19/06/2012 14:02

Congratulations used2 and dairy, and wishing you a good recovery and rest!

I'm now 41+3 and am booked in for induction on Thursday, but have had a 2nd sweep and am 2-3 cms dilated so fingers crossed something will happen by itself very soon :)

Good luck to everyone, it's so frustrating to wait!

shellywellybaby1 · 19/06/2012 14:47

Got my fingers crossed for you too Jesse must be so frustrating!! Ooo keep popping back in the hope of some news McKayz hopefully it will start up again!! I have just had a full leg wax n me toes done. This is my form of nesting me thinks... Haha!!

McKayz · 19/06/2012 15:45

Someone else can take over having a baby.

I have had more show but contractions are completely irregular. I did have a spell of 1 every 10 minutes that I had to stop what I was doing and breathe through but they have gone.

justwantcheese · 19/06/2012 16:12

Come on mckayz I feel you are so close!

friedfrog · 19/06/2012 16:52

C'mon McKayz you are nearly there !

McKayz · 19/06/2012 17:03

I am hoping she comes tonight or at least tomorrow.

My Dad comes up to stay on Friday and goes home Monday and I would like him to meet her.

DizzyKipper · 19/06/2012 20:36

Hope those contractions are behaving themselves by now McKayz and you're well on your way to having that baby, if you haven't already!

McKayz · 19/06/2012 20:43

They are getting a bit more regular and they bloody hurt!!!

shellywellybaby1 · 19/06/2012 21:02

Woohoo!!! Exciting stuff!! Lets hope they keep comin!! Eeee more babies please! Hehe!!

justwantcheese · 19/06/2012 21:37

Goodnight all, see you on the other side. :o
Sending lots of contraction vibes to you all x

McKayz · 19/06/2012 21:47

Just rang the hospital and the MW is going to come see me and see how it's going.

DairyNips · 19/06/2012 21:48

Exciting McKayz! Won't be long till you hold your baby nowSmile

McKayz · 19/06/2012 21:49

I hope not. I'm dreading them saying I'm about 2cm.

shellywellybaby1 · 19/06/2012 22:18

Hehe. Keep us posted!! Living my labour thru everyone else at the min hehe!!

jessebuni · 19/06/2012 22:33

Oh wow! Good Luck McKays! Fingers crossed that this is finally it for you and you've made some good progress!

I've been feeling a bit odd today...my stomach has been rather tight all day and I've had crampiness but no actual pains (although my contractions with DS didn't hurt until they were about 2mins apart and I was 7cm so I guess I can't really go by that) but no regular contractions either. I'm just hoping that at the very least it's a sign that SOMETHING is happening and when I have sweep no 4 on Thursday morning she'll be able to tell me my cervix has at least progressed a bit! Some sign that there is light at the end of the tunnel!

sewing 2-3cm is really good so hopefully this sweep will kick things off for you! I was 3cm when I had a sweep with my first preg and two days later was in labour so fingers crossed for you!

McKayz · 19/06/2012 23:11

I'm in labour!!! 4cm and 3 very strong contractions in 10 minutes.

McPhee · 19/06/2012 23:12

Yay Grin

Sending you lots of good luck.

You'll be holding your baby soon!!!!!!
