Hi all. I'm new to this (long time lurker).

Whether you're pregnant or have been, I'm looking for a little wisdom here:

I know there's no 'right' age to have a child and that you can never really be fully prepared for what it entails - but what would you say is a good age to consider it? Obviously everyone is different but I'm just really interested to know.

I'd love to have children of my own one day, and although I know myself well enough to know when it's right for me, a little wisdom from those already walking in those shoes would be nice :)

Im 26 now with my first, and although it is planned, I still think im too young, but also dont want to be in my 50s trying to kick my children out of my house so I can have my second youth!!!

I have just got pregnant with my first child at 29. I would have liked to have children sooner - my mum was 23 when she had me and I've always appreciated her youth and vitality! Although I can see the advantages of a more mature mum too. We are not in an ideal situation at all, having both just finished our degrees, but I am convinced that we'll find a way to make it work. And you don't need loads of money at the beginning - people will give you lots of clothes etc and if the breastfeeding goes well there's not even much to add to the shopping list! Nappies and childcare are the bits I think will be most expensive at the beginning. I know we're making it extra difficult for ourselves but I can't face the idea of aborting this baby just because it's a couple of years early!
