Is there anyone around who has just found out that they are pregnant and are due in Sept?
I know it's very early days but I thought maybe I could get the ball rolling...
I'm due around Sept 4th I think, with DC2, feeling very happy if a bit nervous :)

Feeling tired tired tired rightontime - I remember feeling like this with DS too but I had forgotten quite how exhausted I felt...It is amazing how quickly the symptoms kick in isn't it, I guess there's a lot going on in there for our bodies to get used to Grin

No nausea yet, but appetite definitely less, and I have completely gone off certain things (like tea - what a shocker!)

As for bloating, yes me too. I was prone to bloating before too (especially when I had eaten salty food) but that would come and go, this appears to be staying...I have heard its because all of the extra hormones (especially progesterone) that our bodies are producing help to relax our muscles in preparation for becoming much bigger which means our abdominals aren't as efficient at holding everything in....great!

Ponyclubmum · 04/01/2012 09:57

I'm really sorry Eyeslikeraisins and queenrollo. Fingers crossed for next time.

Welcome and congratulations to the new people!

I appear to have a bit of a belly already too. Everyone says it appears faster with your second pregnancy, but I didn't expect it this quick! I'm also a bit tearful today, just cried at some random comment on FB for no reason. I'll make sure I have a huge supply of tissues next to me tonight when I watch One Born Every Minute. I can't remember when the last series was on, but I don't think I was pregnant then, and I cried loads - it's bound to be worse this time! Anyone else going to watch it?

Poppyjen · 04/01/2012 10:01

Pony the first time one born every minute was on I was a few weeks away from my due date with DS - I remember watching it on my due date....and then for 2 weeks after my due date getting crosser and crosser that all of these women were giving birth and I was not Blush Grin

I'll definitely be watching, although it will definitely make me cry!

sketti · 04/01/2012 10:16

Hi i'm expecting my second child on the 7th, really excited too. Hoping I won't get as sick this time as was in hospital last time, but feel ok atm :/ second time round so happy to give any advice, though its different each time.

NinaMu · 04/01/2012 10:26

Also feeling very sick now rightontime. But not completely sure if it's the actual pregnancy or nerves! My stomach doesn't feel that different too how it did the week before my wedding!

Had my doctors appt this morning and now have midwife's appointment booked in 3 weeks. Suddenly feeling totally terrified by it all!

Anyone else feeling scared??

sketti · 04/01/2012 10:44

Hi I'm due with my second child 7th September, really excited, but hoping I won't get as sick as did first time round as got in such a bad way. Feel OK atm but only 3wks. Second time round so feel welcome to ask questions?

sketti · 04/01/2012 10:49

Thinks its completely natural to be scared! Its a big change and a general big thing! My last pregnancy was horrible, but its all worth it and here i am again!

Whatevertheweather · 04/01/2012 10:50

Thank you all. Rightontime so sorry to hear about your ds3. It's the hardest thing ever isn't it. I had an emcs so am a bit worried about stretching the scar so soon after but it healed well so hopefully all will be well.

Sad for eyeslikeraisins and queenrollo. Take care of yourselves ladies.

So far I feel okay. A little bit queasy in the mornings but not too bad yet. Didn't have bad sickness with dd1 or dd2 so fx for this time too. Am seeing the consultant who delivered dd2 in 3 weeks time for an early scan. Never had one before 12 weeks before so that will be interesting.

Still not told anyone in RL. Last 2 pregnancies I was bursting to tell this time I want to keep it quiet for as long as possible.

Hope everyone is doing okay xx

Rusulka · 04/01/2012 10:54

Sorry to hear your news QueenRollo and Eyes. FX that you're feeling better and ready to TTC again soon.

Although I've been feeling bloated, I haven't changed size. Saying that, I already have had a right belly on me, if I stick it out I think I look 6 months gone, but that's always been there, lol. I'm looking forward to changing shape, it'll be a constant reminder for me. I don't like not feeling anything apart from the boobs...
I had brown CM the day after I found out, which really bothered me, but I told myself it was either the implantation bleed coming out, or AF trying to annoy me one last time before it lost its stranglehold for a bit. Either way it stopped after that, but I expect there might be more at monthly intervals.
My temps have dropped from 36.8 to 36.2 over the last couple of days, which has freaked me out (anyone still temping?). Did another test this morning to check if everything was ok and the test line was just as strong as the control line, which was a relief. Going to be holding my breath til the first midwife appt and scan, I think!

rightontime · 04/01/2012 12:23

poppyjen the tiredness is creeping up on me too. Had 2 naps yesterday! Blush

whatevertheweather I don't know about the time period after CS but my DS1 was delivered by EMCS and DS2 was a successful VBAC when DS1 was 2y 9m. If your scar has healed well than FC that it will all be fine. Good luck for your scan and consultant visit.

I haven't told anyone yet either and have no desire to do so. Just me and DP know. Last time I told all the family before I was 6weeks but this time I just want to pretend it is not really happening and be in denial as long as possible.

Rusulka so glad you got a good strog +ve after you brown CM. Sounds hopeful. Got my FC for you that everything is ok.

MillontheFloss · 04/01/2012 12:30

5+1 and no symptoms here apart from slight stomach cramps (ok today though), tiredness and needing to pee alot. Was paranoid about lack of symptoms last time and that turned out to be an anembryonic pregnancy (resulting in mc at week 10)

Grr! I want more symptoms!

jennilondon · 04/01/2012 12:48

Hello all! I've been watching this thread in the past few days as I got a very very faint line on 2/1 (dpo 11) - DH saw the very very faint line too so its not my imagination I hope lol Blush

I'm still temping and temperature stays high so I'm still hopeful Smile I only have one test left - would testing on dpo 14 (tmr) be good enough? when I see a stronger line I'll add myself to the list Wink I look forward to joining you all! Grin

jennilondon · 04/01/2012 12:54

Forgot to say, this will be our first baby so I don't really know what to expect and what to do. What happens after you get a strong pink line? Do you go to your GP to be referred to see MW?

millon I'm abit paranoid about lack of symptoms too - only have minor stomach cramps (which I don't know if they are good things or bad things to have) and no tender boobs yet. But those symptoms sound painful so I guess lack of symptoms isn't do bad? (though would love reassurance that the baby is still living happily inside!)

Hotcupofteaplease · 04/01/2012 13:19

So sorry eyeslikeraisins and queenrollo; thinking of you both.

Rightontime; I'm looking quite large too, my work trousers won't fasten and my belly is protruding out of my jumper dress... I was quite big early on with DS, but I think I'm even bigger this time round, what Pony says makes sense.

Whatevertheweather another one here who hasn't a clue what you have been through, but I'm here for support and hand holding if you need it.

jennilondon congratulations! Book a GP appointment, they will refer you to MW. Symptoms vary for everyone, I'm sure you will get them in full force over the next few weeks!

Oh and I will definitely be watching One Born Every Minute; I had just had DS when the 1st series was on, it made for very tearful watching...

CustardL · 04/01/2012 13:47

I think I am more anxious second time round and have been very moody over the past 2 weeks, which I don't remember before with DD1. As far as other symptoms go have not had many yet and can't remember what sysmtoms I had with DD as it was 4 years ago Confused. Think I have been more paranoid since I found out that something will go wrong cos I was so text book last time.

Rang doctors to book MW appt yesterday and they said they don't see you until 10 weeks so have a long wait.

Question: I don't have a thyroid gland after total thyroidectomy. Does anyone know whether I should go and get a blood test to check thyroid function before I see the midwife? My most recent blood test was about 3 months ago and all was OK.

Thanks x

Ponyclubmum · 04/01/2012 13:50

Think DS must have been about a year old when One Born was first on then, if your DS is 21 months now Poppyjen.
The fact that I've also just cried at a Halifax advert means I'm probably going to be a mess tonight!
jenni, I've made an appointment to see the GP to get a referral to the midwife. I did this last time too. I'm not sure if you have to, or if you can make your first appointment directly with the midwife, but everything I've read always says to see your GP when you get a positive pregnancy test.

Caitycat · 04/01/2012 14:13

This is my first post but I wanted to tell someone so early! I'm due on 4th September. Keeping fingers firmly crossed as had a miscarriage last May.

MillontheFloss · 04/01/2012 14:22

Welcome Caitycat

That's my due date too. I also MC'd before and a few others on here have too.

wineandcheese · 04/01/2012 14:35

Please can I join in? I got my BFP last night! I won't have a due date until my scan in mid-Feb (my post-Pill 'cycle' was kind of non-existent!) but I think that I'm due in early September.

Loooopy · 04/01/2012 14:40

whatever the weather i had an emcs with DS who was born nov 10. At my 6 week check with the doctor, i asked how long i should leave it before trying for another baby. She said there is no need to wait, and that the scar would be fine and that ruptures are very rare. She said in an ideal world, wait 6 months but anything after that is not a problem, and i got the feeling the 6 months bit was more about giving my enitre body chance to get over having DS. Is there a particular reason you are having an early scan? the only thing i remember being told is there is a risk of an egg implanting onto the scar tissue, which isn't good, but can't remember much about this - will ask my doctor at my appointment next Tuesday.

jennilondon cramps are normal and good things - your uterus needs to stretch a hell of a lot, and thats what you can feel. i kept thinking i was going to have a miscarriage in the early days of expecting DS, as kept getting pains, and became obsessive in going to the toilet and wiping to check if all ok!! but it is normal, i've been having them for the last couple of weeks, which was the main reason i thought i might be pregnant, as i've never had period pains, so the only time i had felt these cramps was when i was pregnant with DS. They were my main symptom, i didn't get morning sickness apart from twice when i gagged when overenthusiastically brushing my teeth which led to me hurling in the toilet. The other main symptom i got last time was that my boobs increased massively by the time i was 6-7 weeks pregnant. As in so big i had to get a whole new set of bras. And although i didn't put on much weight at the start, i very quickly found my jeans were too tight. And crazily despite only getting BFP yesterday, it would appear i will be showing a lot sooner with this one. Jeans are already feeling uncomfortable and like they are putting pressure on my stomach area when i sit down.

One Born Every Minute is already series linked, can't wait!

cakeismysaviour · 04/01/2012 14:40

Am i the only one without an exact due date? I know mine will be around early September, but I couldn't say an exact date as I haven't had a period since I got pregnant with DC1.....

Will it be a case of not getting an EDD until after my first scan?

cakeismysaviour · 04/01/2012 14:43

Ahh, have just seen your post wineandcheese. We can be the 'no EDD yet' club of two. Grin

wineandcheese · 04/01/2012 15:09

Yey, cake! I'm in. Grin

Whatevertheweather · 04/01/2012 15:11

Thank you Hotcupofteaplease that is lovely.

Loooopy my consultant said she would scan me at 8 weeks just to put my mind at rest that all is in the correct place and has a heartbeat. I think she is just being kind as she delivered my dd2 in August and was very upset when she died in the operating room. Only 4 months has passed since emcs but she didn't seem too concerned.

Hope everyone is doing okay xx
