Is there anyone around who has just found out that they are pregnant and are due in Sept?
I know it's very early days but I thought maybe I could get the ball rolling...
I'm due around Sept 4th I think, with DC2, feeling very happy if a bit nervous :)

Poppyjen · 12/01/2012 11:29

Mill I have that too Blush on and off. Not sure whether its due to the medication I am taking (Metformin) or the morning sickness, whatever the reason it is not pleasant. Not at all.

Booking appointment this pm - should be a fun hour of paperwork and bloodtests...hopefully the MW will be able to chase up the date for my early scan as if they don't get in touch soon it won't be very "early".....

Rusulka · 12/01/2012 12:07

Hey ladies.
Feeling a bit down as I had a bit of spotting yesterday and a lot this morning. It's all brown though, so keeping my fingers crossed, but my boobs weren't as sore as they have been when I woke up.
Did another test, but this is a different batch of internet cheapies, so can't tell if the line is fainter than my other ones.
STILL haven't heard anything from midwives so rang up drs and panicked at them, they got me in straight away to see dr, he's faxed off my info to the EPU and they should ring me within the next few days for an early scan.
Really hoping it hasn't gone wrong, but feeling horrible and upset. Driving myself insane with worry, and really wishing DH didn't have 2 late nights in a row. Still, my MiL is here to keep me company. [yay.]

Anyone have similar experiences that turned out to be fine?

Macaroons · 12/01/2012 12:18

Quick question everyone, how soon after meeting your GP will you get contacted by your MW for booking appointment? I went to GP last Friday but got no letter no phone call. Feeling abit impatient with the wait!

Bakeroo · 12/01/2012 12:40

Hi all, ponyclubmum and Rusulka I wanted to write to tell you about my hospital appointment this morning. I was going for a second scan to check for a heartbeat. From my last scan I should have been 6 weeks 5 days today but from the scan they think I might not be quite that far. Happily we had a lovely little heartbeat.....but.....they also found a bleed :( they said it was outside the sac and was very normal for this stage. They said that I may bleed( haven't seen anything outside yet) and that it may be brown, red or pink and it's 'perfectly normal' when I saw the nurse after the scan she was even more positive. She said it would be the placenta fusing with the baby/wall. So although I am nervous and dreading seeing blood, I am going to try to be positive and not panic. I know for you ladies its very worrying but I wanted to pass on the information I was given today, just incase it is the same for you. Good luck to all, I know how worrying this time can be. Xx

rightontime · 12/01/2012 12:44

Million Yes I kind of have upset tummy. The last 2 nights I have had awful stomach cramps that seem to be trapped wind but god it hurts. Blush Seems to be linked to dodgy belly even though it is difficult to 'go' if you see what I mean, double Blush

Fruitloop Could it possibly be due to tummy troubles. Sometimes I have found that constipation gives me back ache? If not than this is the time that the ligament stretch so possibly to blame. I have just started getting hip pain which I got through teenage growing years and through every pregnancy.

Macaroons Last time they said I would be contacted by the MW to make an appointment at 10 weeks, by 9weeks I hadn't heard anything so phoned the surgery and it turns out I have to make my own appointment. This time I am being referred to a different hospital for my early care and scans so will see if they contact me.

Littlechurub Yes to the nipple thing. Also cold like symptoms can be due to pregnancy too.

Iph · 12/01/2012 13:00

Thanks bakeroo that is reassuring and congratulations on seeing the heart beat :)

macaroons I saw my GP on Thursday and just got my Choose and Book letter today. Just booked my booking in for the 1st of Feb. Every area is different but be prepared that they may not want to see you much before 8/9 weeks for booking in.

Sorry about the spotting Rusulka, glad your going to be seen by EPU. I have had continuous brown spotting for 6 days with one day of bright red, it appears to tapering off now, hopefully. Take heart in what bakeroo was told, I know it's impossible not to worry.

whatever 13 days to go now, time is drrraaaaggging! I thought last week was long but someone seems to have added a bunch of extra days into this one. Hurray for the nausea though, even if does make the school run more interesting.

I didn't have the full on hurl feast I was expecting this morning passing the magic 6.1 but I did feel a bit of nausea mid-morning so I'll take that for now.

Hope everyone is well?

Iph · 12/01/2012 13:03

Oh, also yes to the nipple thang and to the dodgy bowels Blush

AmandinePoulain · 12/01/2012 13:23

bakeroo that's the same diagnosis as I got - there's an area of "bruising" adjacent to the sac. The nurse and radiographer described it as "one of those things" and they said they don't know what causes it but that it'll either work it's way out or be absorbed. Just now I've had a bit more brown mucousy discharge with tiny spots of fresh blood do I guess that's it. It's hard not to worry but seeing the hb is very reassuring. And rush when I miscarried my loss was orange, with dd it was red and brown so brown and pink is ok in my head.

AmandinePoulain · 12/01/2012 13:29

And around here you just make a booking in appointment yourself for around 8 weeks, which is at the gp surgery. I haven't bothered to even see a gp this time. The first appointment is just about being given all the bumf, then the mw does a home visit at about 10 weeks, when she gives out all the blood forms to take into the antenatal clinic, and then you get a scan appointment through the post. Last time I queued for ages to have my bloods, came home to have received a scan appointment through the post and bled that lunchtime, to be told the baby had died at the emergency scan the next day Sad

Atlastadragon · 12/01/2012 13:37

Hi all, have been reading for a few days. I am, by my reckoning, 5+4, due on 7 Sept. MMC in June, nervous as have not been having any symptoms, apart from slightly sore boobs and a little bit more tired than normal.

I am trying to keep calm, and think, what will be, will be, but last time, my MS stopped at around 9 weeks, which is when the baby died. Is anyone experiencing MS, or alternatively none?

Rusulka · 12/01/2012 15:40

Bakeroo you have made me feel sooooo much better! And DH, since I managed to ring him on lunch and pass on your info. We're really hoping the same is true for us. Still waiting on that phone call though...
Glad this has happened in a way, as I don't really trust the GPs round here to find their arse in a paper bag, never mind actually do what I need them to.

Well, I am 6+4, and I hate to say it, but no MS.
What I seem to get is instead of feeling hungry later on in the morning, I already feel slightly sicky-hungry before getting out of bed- I figure it's because I'm using extra calories to grow the blob. I keep a packet of gingernuts by the bed and one in the morning usually does the trick for me.
My mum didn't get MS with either me or my sister, so on the one hand I'm thinking woo-hoo, and on the other hand, it's doing bugger all to set my mind at rest on current concerns!

Current symptoms [barring recent brown frightenings] have been uber-sore boobage, mainly nipples, to the point where I've had to have a go at DH for bonging into them during the night, and a bit hungry queasy as mentioned earlier, the occasional cramping, and periodically headaches. Sometimes constipated, sometimes runny, depending on what I ate! I cried when DH had a go at me for not giving him enough toilet paper, but other than that, I'm quite rational (which is an alien state for me, lol!)
I've gone off sundried tomatoes, red peppers, and my red leicester smells like cheddar.

Welcome dragon [really want a dragon now] hopefully this time things will work out better for you.

MadMonkeys · 12/01/2012 16:14

Room for one more? Got my BFP this morning, and by my reckoning I'm due on 17th Sept with DC2. DD is 2 years old. Lots of mild cramping so far.

Macaroons · 12/01/2012 18:59

Welcome to more new joiners :)

Rightontime and Iph - thanks for sharing your experience. I'll just have to keep waiting! So does NHS usually provide a scan at wk 12 and wk 20?

Rusulka and atlastadragon - I'm having no MS too. Although I imagine I wouldn't like the feeling of being sick, but the lack of MS makes me wonder how's the little one doing in there! and my taste buds haven't changed, I still like to eat what I used to like to eat, and no strange craving. I'm 6+2 today. (why would pregnant women get MS anyway? hormones?)

Amanda and atlastadragon sorry to hear about your loss last time, fingers crossed nothing horrible will happen to anyone on this thread!!!

I think this coming year is the year of dragon so all babies born between February 2012 - Jan 2013 are all dragons!

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 12/01/2012 19:00

Hi all and welcome to the new ladies!
All here ok, but to whoever said about the lower backache, I really struggled with it last time. I was ok as long as I didn't do anything that did need me to sort of bend forward for any extended period, so hoovering was out!!Grin I did yoga for pregnancy from about 15weeks and that helped I think, so would recommend that.

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 12/01/2012 19:04

Oh and macaroons don't worry about the lack of MS. you might be one of the lucky ones! I didn't have any last time at all and DD was as right as rain. I know though that if there are no symptoms it's easy to worry that something is amiss. But just try to enjoy it! Smile

WinkyWinkola · 12/01/2012 19:28

Apparently it's the placenta cells that emit hormones making pg women feel sick. The placenta is complete by 12-14 weeks which is why most stop feeling sick by then. Some don't. Some women have zero ms. Lucky blighters.

Hi Guys,

Wow, this thread is going so fast!
Well I still have only v sore boobs and tiredness as symptoms but had my early scan today and saw the heartbeat. Was a bit tearful as convinced there wasnt going to be anything to see (pessemistic day)

They wouldnt give an EDD but thought I was just 6 weeks. That would fit sort of with LMP and gives an approx EDD of 5thish September.

So relieved & excited. But suspect tomorrow will be back to pessemistc mode Blush

Davidsmom · 12/01/2012 20:50

Sorry, me, me, me!

Hoping eveyone is doing OK.

Spuddybean · 12/01/2012 20:55

Hello all. Hope you are doing well.

My health is deteriorating, not sure if it's pregnancy but i have been exhausted and sick, then today i had a mini stroke at work. All very frightening.

Hospital have sent me home with aspirin and neuro tests booked for Monday and DP is on his way back from America so should be home about 11am tomo.

I am worried about the baby and myself. Not sure if this is usual/common. :(

Sorry for the self pity.

Davidsmom · 12/01/2012 20:59

Oh my goodness Spuddybean you poor thing. How frightening and with your DH away too.

Spuddybean · 12/01/2012 21:07

i don't have any support network so am just worrying alone now and was in the hospital by myself. it's so hard living away from my parents and having no friends. i don't know what i'd do without mumsnet.

Davidsmom · 12/01/2012 21:25

What happened?

I presume they think your safe to send home or they wouldnt!

Virtual hug ((((( )))))
