Just did two pg tests and positive (although faint). Took 10 months ttc last time and as DD is almost one I've only had periods for a few months so this is a hugely pleasant surprise!

Anyone-else out there?

blackcatsdancing · 08/01/2012 13:23

yes and my typos are getting worse. think my contacts are playing up since i got preggers.

geekette · 08/01/2012 15:40

Went to the gym for the first time since BFP.
I had been dreading it as I need to lie down every hour or so now.
And I was pretty scared it would do something to the little one. I know, I know: Silly thought but it is my first pregnancy. [bush]

It was blooming marvellous! I only felt tired towards the end. I did everything a bit slower than usual since I hadn't been in for almost 2 months. and my gym routine is pretty tame anyway.

No bleeding or cramps afterwards. A few pains but those seem to be muscles having a whale of a time.

Looking forward to going back on monday.

geekette · 08/01/2012 15:41

[bush] => Blush grr

NathanDetroit · 08/01/2012 15:41

blackcatsdancing my pg book says the shape of your eyeball can change in pregancy (is nothing sacred?!) so that can affect your lenses.

I went to the shops for about half an hour today and could barely walk round! Staggering like I don't know what. I should walk to work but I've been driving lately...gonna try to walk tomorrow (if it's not raining). It's good to know there is a good reason but all the apps, magazines, websites go on exercise like it's a piece of cake. CHUH!

Westcountrywife · 08/01/2012 16:40

My contact lenses have been being difficult recently... have just put two and two together. Thank you, I thought I was going mad. Grin

Dorita75 · 08/01/2012 17:53

I wear lenses too so will keep an eye on any problems, boom boom Wink I've just slept for an hour on the couch and can't get up off it, very unlike me, think I'm starting to feel sick in the mornings but only slightly...I hope this is the start of proper symptoms to make this all feel like it's actually happening....!

NathanDetroit · 08/01/2012 18:00

Ooh, glad to have imparted some useful information. Apparently you have to watch out if you wear glasses too. Mine had better not play up as I dropped a LOT of money on new glasses a couple of months ago. My eyesight is horrendous.

geekette that's good to know about the gym. I wish I could find a way to drive to work but walk home...well, that's not impossible actually. I just fear getting to work and feeling exhausted/ill and then having to walk home. Maybe I just need to woman up though!

Redbird12 · 08/01/2012 18:55

Just wanted to add to Mrs L, thank you so much for sharing your experience & giving me some hope for a future pg, very similar circumstances you are right, even same age and trying for similar amount of time. Good to know others have got through this & come out with positive news the other side :)

glittershoes · 08/01/2012 21:24

I must start back with the exercise! Was a Jillian Michaels Shredder before but think that may be a tad strenuous!

I had my scan today and so so so relieved that everything looks great, all measuring exactly right (8w2d) and a lovely little beating heart.

We got to see it all and, the best ever, hear the heartbeat which was amazing and surreal. Best £99 I have ever spent, it really gave me some peace of mind as I have been feeling so normal and unpregnant. The lovely sonographer said not to worry about having no symptoms, just to enjoy it. She also said that she doesn't know how people wait 12 weeks - when she was pregnant she scanned herself every Monday!

Feel so much better and now just want to enjoy it!

blackcatsdancing · 08/01/2012 21:38

gosh our eyeballs can change size!

glittershoes great news on the scan ! i'd probably scan myself weekly if i had the equipment (and the know how)

Ooh! Ooh! Add me! I am due 23/08/12 :)
booked in for first MW appt on 30th Jan. Sickness not too bad so far, the only problem I'm having is I'll enjoy something while eating but afterwards I'll think "I'm never eating THAT again!"
Are the bracketed numbers ages? (sorry, I'm dipping and out as thread is so long) If so, I'm 32 on Wednesday :o

NathanDetroit · 08/01/2012 22:16

OMG! Is that 37 of us?! Amazing!!

yay for the scan glittershoes - I may have to look into one properly now...Just really want to know what's going on in there!

Well, another week down and another one to go. Hope you all have good ones, better get to bed for the inevitable two hours of going to the loo before sleeping for two hours...!

xx

PoppyS34 · 08/01/2012 22:30

Wow, that's an amazing list :) pleased to hear about scan glitter, that's great :o

I'm also headng to bed, currently weeing every for hours on the dot Blush, still good practice for LO i imagine...!

First MW appt this week, at long last, and scan 2 wks away... Yay!

Night night everyone x

Angel786 · 08/01/2012 22:57

Welcome mrslister farmers and peer ie

Great news glitter so pleased all is well

Had my booking in appointment yesterday, soo long then was told to wait an hour to get bloods done as midwives at lunch, I left. Just watched I didn't know I was pregnant, the thought of not getting a big belly and/ or morning sickness is pretty appealing!

black cats your vision can change during pregnancy, often it reverts after pregnancy.

Think hiding the bump from work till march is going to fail Hmm

This sooooo much for the list needles

Lovemarmite · 09/01/2012 09:13

Thanks Needlecuties for the list - just one tweak to mine - I am 38 but loved reading that my age is 36... thank you :)

Got my MW appointment just booked in for tomorrow morning. Glad she called as I was a little concerned that my morning sickness was starting to subside - at week 9 she says this is normal - phew! Still tired and breasts are sore which are good signs... was thinking that something was up though as most the books I've read say that sickness peaks at 9-10 weeks rather than going away. Hmm won't celebrate quite yet though as it may be back tomorrow?!

Went for a good walk in the countryside yesterday and felt loads better for it. Definitely think exercise is good and don't feel so guilty about sitting on my bum a lot at times from tiredness.

Hope everyone a good week!

Lovemarmite · 09/01/2012 09:13

Typo!
Hope everyone has a good week

d'oh, brain like mush!!!

Angel786 · 09/01/2012 10:56

Hi - have posted separate thread but anyone got any advice please?

This is my second pg. Am 10 ½ weeks and last night had really bad cramps for 10 mins at 1am. Felt like contractions. No blood. Could it have been gas or something or do you think it could be something to do with the baby? It was v different to the ligament stretching cramps I had with the first pg. Midwife at booking in appointment said if any bleeding call hospital immediately but no blood. Scan is next week anyway, on Monday.

Has anyone had anything similar?

lynniegooner · 09/01/2012 11:48

Hello all August mummies-to-be! I'm due on 12/08/12 and, as I already have a 14 month old, am worrying about how I will manage looking after two little 'uns!! Also being 43 adds the worry of how my old body will cope with another pregnancy but fingers crossed all will be well!

Congratulations to all and their "Olympic" babies!! :)

MrsMigginslovespies · 09/01/2012 11:50

Thanks so much Needlescuties for adding me onto the list. You and I are due on the same day which is exciting! BTW, I'll be 35 next month. Feeling v tired today and bit sick again. had rubbish sleep last night as was up and down to the loo, plus think I'm catching my DH's cold. Meh. But am attempting to make homemade crumpets so not all bad Wink. Hope everyone else is doing ok today and aren't as grumpy as I am! Have my first MW appointment on Thurs and am looking forward to seeing her. My Mum is coming too for moral support as DH is back at school (teach obv, not pupil!!).

Happy Monday all, x

aflycup · 09/01/2012 12:13

Just when I was thinking morning sickyness was predictable..started back work this morning (6.30am start eek) and found that driving made me want to be sick :( so not sure how much longer I can carry on. Everyone says "Oh it'll stop don't worry" but I get this horrible feeling that I'll be the one exception :( Anyone else finding sickyness changing as pg going along? Got scan on Mon (week today) so really looking forward to finding out accurately how far along I am (mw thinks I'll be 12 weeks on Mon obv otherwise she wouldn't have booked scan for me!). Oh and I found out that I'm Rhesus negative: does anyone have experience of this/know about it?

JParkson · 09/01/2012 12:18

Hi all, glad everyone has had a good weekend - good news re the scan glitter :)

I've had a busy but good weekend. Friday was a cracking day as I hit my weight loss target! Yay, no more paying to step on the scales till I have LO - goody!

Then Saturday I met my doula. She attended me through DD's pg and birth, and it was lovely to catch up with her again. Really looking forward to the whole process again now

I have my first mw appt tomorrow - eek, not looking forward to that, as she's likely to demand blood I'm very attached to my blood! And waiting for my scan date to come through

The only darkness looming on the horizon is that my SPD I had during DD's pg is already threatening - popping hips and back and groin at any given time as well as agony walking is not much fun... DH visibly flinched when I got into bed last night! Talk about snap, crackle and pop!

glittershoes · 09/01/2012 12:37

Thanks all.

No advice Angel, I haven't had anything similar but I hope all is ok, maybe worth ringing the midwife if you are concerned? Put your mind at rest. It is so confusing isn't it? I am over analysing every feeling or twinge I get!

PoppyS34 · 09/01/2012 12:46

Hi Angel, no advice from me either really. I've had really bad cramps throughout so far, some which have been far worse than period pains, really breathtaking, can't move type cramps, but the nurse said it was just things stretching. However, not sure if this is similar to yours or not?! I hope you're ok now. x

tashaw28 · 09/01/2012 13:21

Hi all,
Thanks for the list Needles can't believe I'm not the oldest, I'm so aware of my age this time around (36) as the gp kept mentioning it!! I haven't heard from the mw or the hosp yet but have booked a nuchal scan privately. Not sure I can wait till 12 weeks though as am 8 tom and my symptoms come and go so never sure until I see it! Even though this is my dc3 I'm still sooo worried about it.
