IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 28/11/2011 18:09

Oh wiw how exciting!!! I mean, infuriating about baby moving to oblique lie of course, but how exciting to know you'll be meeting him/her in the morning!! Will be thinking of you and hope all goes smoothly xx

No news here I'm afraid...actually I'm not as impatient as I was at the end of my previous pgs, but am more nervous, just scared of anything going wrong, so it will be a huge relief to just get it over with. In all honesty, I was kind of assuming I wouldn't go too far over, as I was only a day late with dd, but I suppose baby will come when he or she is ready...

Tis scary being so close to the top though, not sure I'm ready to take the baton tomorrow...

digitalgirl · 28/11/2011 19:38

Wow wombat definitely having a baby tomorrow then! Sorry it's not the way you were expecting but yay a baby to take home and snuggle!!!
Can't wait to hear all about it!

bigmacandhappymeal · 29/11/2011 14:26

I feel a bit like a proud father! I'm delighted to announce that the lovely WiW has had a beautiful baby boy! Jack Albert was born this morning at 08.36am, weighing in at a very respectable 8lb 8oz

Both are doing well and the lady herself will be on once things have settled down to tell us more about it

More team blue :)

Biscuitsandtea · 29/11/2011 14:30

Yay! Well done WIW GrinGrin
In fact, double well done as at 82 posts I think I was closest on the sweepstake Wink

bigmacandhappymeal · 29/11/2011 14:42

Good heavens, it's sobering doing that list!

How are you doing izzy? Hope you're OK with that baton!?

Lovely to see new names added to the bottom of the list. There's so much Team Blue action going on isn't there?

All going OK here - I'm going to stick my neck out and say I'm in latent labour. Lots of pains that radiate to my hips and thighs coupled with mega-tightenings and my appetite seems to have gone... but nothing that makes me think I need to call the hospital yet (any guidance post-popped ladies? I'm thinking of waiting until I've got something regular to let them know about). Just been for a good walk and I'm going out for thai green curry tonight. Come on bean!!

Hope everyone else is OK - what news?
xx

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 29/11/2011 14:52

Congratulations to wombatinwaiting - fantastic news, and welcome to the world, Jack!!! Grin Grin Grin

On the other hand, my god, that list is scary and I'm at the top!!!! Shock

Freezingmyarseoff · 29/11/2011 15:22

Congratulation to WIW, I love the names. Grin Grin

Exciting Bigmac, no advice here but you'll know when you're ready to call the hospital.

Izzy Smile
I'm on twice daily lurking now

KatAndKit · 29/11/2011 16:16

Congratulations WIW lovely names. Enjoy the newborn snuggles :)

stitchinline · 29/11/2011 17:04

Congratulations WIW brilliant news and such a lovely name :o

Oooh bigmac that all sounds very promising and exciting ? no advice to offer here as totally clueless still about all that stuff

Yay dachs lovely to hear from you and congratulations on team pink, look forward to seeing you around a bit more as things progress.

izzy hold on tight to that baton!

LIL I?m going on mat leave at 30 weeks! quite early really but a combination of reasons including horrible commute, DH work patterns over Jan/Feb and desire to nest all added it up for me.

I?m madly busy at work now ? only 16 days left and a million things still to do plus we are expecting to have painters in at home in that time. So not enough hours in the day at the moment [frantic emoticon]

Booked for my maternity unit tour in a couple of weeks, thought it best to get it out of the way pre Christmas ? also weekends in Jan will be taken up with NCT and DH working. They said to book it in pre 32 weeks.

My dad ? bless him ? keeps asking if i have a date yet. Ummm no update since I last spoke to you. They are just desperate to book flights over but really can?t give a definitive date - the little pudding will come when she?s ready. We?ve named her pudding as DH said I look like I ate all the pudding Hmm

Blackkat · 29/11/2011 17:23

Such lovely news from wiw tho that list is super scary!

bigmac hope the latent phase moves up a notch soon, thanks for sorting the list x congrats on d day too

izz so great to see you at the top of the list, hoping things move quickly soon xx

Also wondering, given we're all team yellow that the blue trend will continue????

Fantastic news from katandkit so pleased to her all well at 20 wk scan and hurrah for team blue

Lovely news from dacha too, team pink, how lovely!

stitch congrats to you too, exciting times ahead!

For those of you talking my leave, I managed ft until 36 and a half weeks, the hardest bit was carrying on despite the lack of sleep. Insomnia kicked in abt 32 wkd for me and I needed at least a week to catch up on sleep.

Lovely to hear from those the other side to collie pink and velvet.

harassed fx you make it to Thursday for home birth, waves to Minnie and doo

milkys hoping all well with you, not heard from you in a while

News from here, few twinges and just about keeping this dreadful itching under control, baby can't arrive soon enough for me!

Made christmas cake yesterday, moat of the sherry burned off so it's fine, leaves slices with chunks of Wensleydale cheese mmmmmmmmm Grin

Blackkat · 29/11/2011 17:25

That post isn't supposed to read so self centeredly, it should read those of you discussing mat leave.........

sunnysunchild · 29/11/2011 18:25

Yay HUGE congratulations to WIW :) Love the name, and hope your C/S all went smoothly...
eeek! That list is getting so short at the top.... scary stuff!!

dooscooby · 29/11/2011 18:41

Massive congrats to wiw -such lovely news-can't wait to hear more once youve got time.

Hope things start to move soon for izzy and bigmac. Great to hear from blackkat too - your cake sounds yum, I only hope I can be so productive on may leave.

dachs - cant remember whether I've said it before but massive congrats on the pink scan and I hope you had a lovely bday. Wishing you lots of strength over the next couple of weeks.

Right-best get dinner on, been working at home today as I'm wiped out with a horrid cold, roll on next week!

Waves to harassed, minnie and anyone else near the scary top of the list!

Minnie74 · 29/11/2011 20:04

So much team blue! Congrats wiw. Cute name x Looking forward to hearing all the story too.

dachs congrats on the scan and being team pink!

lil i lasted till 37 weeks working (was meant to go to 38) so glad I stopped when I did, was getting really tired and feel so much better having had a full week off.

izzy keep a tight hold on the baton please I am so not ready for it. The list is getting scarily short at the top. Waves to bigmac and blackkat

blackkat hope the itching is not causing you too much anxiety-it's just not what you need is it.

Had some scary period pain type feelings this morning-though only when I laid on my right. Could it be the baby moving down a bit? Although it does feel rally high under my ribs still. I just really have no idea what to expect!

Biscuitsandtea · 29/11/2011 20:13

Just on the maternity leave thing, I stopped work at 34 weeks with DS (well mat leave was supposed to start at 38 and I tacked 4 weeks of holiday that I had to use on the front of it. Good job I did stop then too as DS came at 36+5....

Good luck to all those at the top of the list as those various symptoms keep coming! I think with going into labour it's like getting a BFP in the first place. The symptoms could be anything and are different for any 2 given people so you're constantly wondering! Good luck though. Looking forward to the next snuggly newborn announcement Smile

dooscooby · 30/11/2011 12:37

It's quiet in here today-hope everyone is ok?

Bit late but just saw that Lily Allen had a baby girl the other day-great news for her and the husb!

Only 1 day to go til fully baked and finishing aspirin-eek...

shellshock7 · 30/11/2011 14:53

WIW congratulations, hope you and Jack are doing well Smile

bigmac how exciting for you, hope things are progressing well

stitch very jealous of you finishing work at xmas, I finish on 31 Jan (will be 35 weeks) and it can't come soon enough...I have a days left in work countdown on the go! We are going to go on the hospital tour after xmas, bit scared!

I'm so excited for all you ladies at the top of the list, don't know how I will feel when I get there but if I could go to bed tonight and wake up tomorrow holding the baton I would Grin

LAF77 · 30/11/2011 20:47

Congrats to WIW and welcome to the world, Jack!

On babywatch right now for izzy bigmac blackkat and minnie although once they come, that means I'm 11th on the list and I think that seems too high!

kat so pleased for you to be joining us, you are well and truly stapled to the thread! Team blue is well represented on the thread I'd say.

dachs Congrats on team pink! I can imagine your anxiety as you approach the milestone for your twins. This time, it will be different. You have had the stitch and you have a singleton pg this time, but I know that each day can seem like an impossible wait.

Hope you are OK milky haven't heard much from you lately.

For me, time has flown by between 20 and 24 weeks. I'm at the week of viability today. In some ways, I'm happy because they could help him if he needed to come out early, but I don't want that to happen. I've got my next scan on Friday, so hopefully, they will say everything is OK. I've had this weird random pulsing in my upper inner leg today, like a little spasm, lasting for a couple of seconds. It seems to happen in one place, but it doesn't hurt at all. Has anyone else had anything like this before? I don't think it could be the baby. Could it be a blood clot? Dr. Google doesn't seem to suggest this, but of course, I always jump to conclusions.

bigmacandhappymeal · 30/11/2011 21:16

congratulations biscuits, winner of the wiwsweepstake! I think wiw must name the prize though when she's back online...

laff so brilliant that you are on the 24 week cusp. I felt a definite sense of relief when I got to that point. Before you know it you'll be clutching the baton with sweaty palms Grin No advice on the pulsing - could be the bubba leaning against a nerve? Would ask your MW. And I'm afraid I'm going to have to administer a with the haddock for Dr Googling - bad laff :)

doo it was lovely news about Lily Allen wasn't it...

blackkat how are you doing?

minnie I started getting period pains at late 37 / 38 weeks. Very sporadic and now get them a lot . For me I'm getting them all the time but like you also get them when I lay in bed but on my left hand side. I wondered if it's my poor womb saying that there's nowhere else for this enormous baby to go :)

BTW, no news :) Loads of pains and tightening as per normal now. I've been for reflexology today - it was really lovely but I did fall asleep mid-way through and did a great big nanna snore which woke me up. Pure class.

izzy hope you're OK ((hug))

dooscooby · 01/12/2011 14:19

Hello there!
Congrats LAF on the big 24 point - I think that stage was probably my fave to be honest, visibly pregnant but cute and manageable bump and slightly less worries then the rest of the time for some reason!

bigmac your nana snore story made me laugh - did you pretend you hadn't been asleep though (my Mum always does and that makes it even funnier imo). Must look into the reflexology thing for when I'm finished up at work NEXT WEEK......woooohooo!

Been checked into the birthing centre today, was a nice experience, aside from one lady arriving in tears as she was obviously in labour and got whisked through and for some reason this caused me to both well-up and panic at the same time. All the other women sat there and didn't bat an eyelid - silly me!

Wondering how izzy is doing with that baton?

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 01/12/2011 14:52

Afternoon all. Yes I'm still here, still holding that baton

bigmac sorry I can't help on the nerve thing although I've come to the conclusion pg does all sorts of funny things to your body so who knows?! You did make me Grin re the reflexology and nanna snoring though...think I may give my acupuncturist a call later and see if she can help me get things moving.

MW appt at 3.50, am thinking she'll probably start talking about induction, might actually be a relief to have a date. Although this is my 4th pg and 3rd baby, it's the most pregnant I've ever been!!

LAF congrats on viability, it is a bit of a milestone Grin

dachs how are you doing, lovely?

Better go, will update later after mw.
