Girls poo up their fronts, not back - you will need cotton buds to get it out of their tummy buttons

Girls do secret wees too when their nappy comes off

However much you rile against pink it takes over your life and you then find yourself planning a patchwork quilt made from fabric covered in pink hearts and cupcakes...

Kindles are indeed marvellous, and if you get an Audible subscription it will play audio books too

Babies toenails are supposed to look like they're ingrowing (that would have saved me an embarrassing call to the health visitor)

Drugs are marvellous as are c sections

And finally two big ones

However anxious you are about being a mum, however worried about having one flavour and not the other, they get here and its all fine, in fact, better than fine, its lovely

And however anxious you feel, and however unreasonable you think those feelings are, there will be support for you here. You lot put up with my particular brand of mentalling so well. I recently reread your messages after pip arrived and realised I hadn't thanked you all. I honestly wouldn't have got through it all without you, so THANK YOU xxx

Oh and a final tip - if you send oh out with baby to find out what looking after them is really like, they will come back saying its easy as they will have had shop assistants running round after them all day

Hi, can I join you?
I have a 6 year old dd and am abut 7 weeks pregnant. We saw a strong heartbeat on Saturday but I have had several miscarriages in the past so am bricking it at the minute! I haven't had any spotting or bleeding this time but I have a really achey pre-menstrual back which is bothering me at the moment. I know this is probably just stretching and burrowing but it is a bit of a worry. Despite feeling sick and tired, and less anxious since the scan, I still feel like I can't be truly excited about this much longed for baby.

Right, back to wor,k 1 day and 1 hr to go! Bub is a lot less kicky these days but it has taken to really squashing my ribs in the last few days, I finally get what people mean when they say that now!

Hi ladies - vaguely back in the land of the living and just wanted to say thanks soooo much for all your lovely messages and of course all your support over these months - you really are fantastic - have some and or - as appropriate to your state!

Needless to say it's been an absolute whirlwind - I have been dying to get on to upate you with all the details and I will do this as soon as I can.

In the mean time, a quick update. We only had 3 night in hosp in the end and we're doing v well. Couple of b/feeding issues which I think have now been sorted with an hour's visit from a lactation consultant yesterday - BEST money ever spent - do not hesitate. Jack is adorable and seems to be pretty good so far - only cries when he needs to and even slept 4 hours straight last night

Have uploaded some photos onto my profile at last so have a ganders and I'll be back soon I hope.

Am 21 weeks today. Finding my sore hips aren't so bad in the morning anymore...but get a bit of mild groin ache if I walk for more than 20-30 minutes. Which is actually more manageable. Hoping with general 'pottering about' and limiting long walks I can keep the worst of the SPD away.

Izzy congratulations lovely it's just so heartwarming to see so many of you who I've shared this tough journey with get your happy ending. I'd also like to add a thank you to you for all your support during my dark days. You truely deserve this.

hi ladies sorry i've missed so much. wiw and izzy congratulations to you both, i'm so very pleased for both of you. enjoy your cuddles.

things have been so hectic this past week, with bfing (now he's only on boob, no bottles at all, (infact now he won't bloomin well have one at all, hope he does at christmas.)) But now he's had a really bad cold over the weekend, poor thing, coughing and sneezing, blocked nose, listening to him trying to breathe and those little coughs is so horrible. HV coming out again today so will get her to check he's ok.

Will try and check often, watching for news from bigmac and blackkat
