wiw that sounds stressful! Glad everything was ok in the end though. How do you feel about having an induction date set? At least you know you'll get to meet your baby within the next week - how exciting!!

lili I have a Sophie and it's a fab name imo. Some of my friends did comment on how popular it is now (thanks ) and admittedly it is popular, but dd is the only one in her class, and I only know of one other in the school. I still love it. Also like all your boys names [sorry, no help emoticon]

Nothing happening here, but some of my scans put due date as tomorrow so I'm trying not to see it as being overdue just yet...

Hi, everyone. We've had a tiring week so I'm only just finding the energy to post but I've been lurking.

Isaac is of course the most beautiful baby in the world and we are totally smitten!! Im overjoyed with him and can't actually get my head around the fact we've grown him and I've been carrying him in my belly!!!! He's really good so we aren't doing to bad. The nights are hard, he likes to wake up 12-4 and feed and feed and feed.... He feeds, falls asleep on my Breast so we put him in his basket and bang wide awake. Wants holding and 5 mins later wants another feed . It's exhausting. But we went to bed earlier last night and somehow by swaddling him we managing to trick him back into his cot at 2am so Ive managed to get some sleep before this mornings feed. Any tips on cluster feeding though?

Also, We are managing with the breast so far, but one in particular is VERY sore. I'm feeding him in the rugby ball position on that boob which helps but the pain when he gets on is toe curling and they are generally very tender to just touch. Any tips on his latch? How to ease pain? I'm rubbing in milk after feeds and using savoy cabbage. Will get some cream later today too.

lil I like all you're boys names expect Cameron, but that's just because I couldn't bring myself to use a name that would remind me of our a tory prime minister! Oliver would have been on my list expect its my aunts family name and we are a small close family. I love Alistair but DH vetoed it! Love sophie too.

collie - sounds like you're going great. I recall the toe curling pain though - used to actually make me cry out sometimes. It does pass though.

Get Lansinoh cream! It is more expensive than some others but oh so much better. And you can leave it on when they feed whereas some others you have to wipe off first (I think) - and you don't want to be fading about when Isaac wants to get on with it. Seriously though - it does work. In the early days I used it after every single feed whether they felt sore or not. After that I used it at the first sign of soreness until the soreness was all gone.

I do hope the soreness passes though. No particular advice on the latch I'm afraid. Ds had a bad tongue tie so his latch was awful for 8 weeks (ouch) until we finally got it snipped. Up until that point feeding was a bit of a nightmare for both of us! But if you have any concerns re the latch is there a local bf counsellor or bf group you could go along to? It's often easier to fix latch type issues by actually looking?

I'm sure others on here though night have more suggestions on that. I'm a bit rusty 3 years on!

Collie I'd second getting someone to check your latch, it shouldn't be toe curlingly painful. If your latch is ok, I'd get thrush ruled out. You have my sympathies on the cluster feeding, we used to have the sane thing here too. Only thing you can do is make day and night ad different ad you can and gradually the clustering will move back into the evening.

Oh and I second Lansinoh-worth every penny

collie I had that awful pain too for around 10 days. One day when it was awful I fed from my good boob and expressed from the bad one to give it a rest then gave her the bottle when I had enough to give both nipples a rest.

I agree you need cream. I didn't have lanisoh although I've heard it's great but used asda little angels nipple cream which is brilliant IMO.

I've also found that having some no bra time and letting the air get to them is good too! I just have a muslin wrapped round me at night now and I think it's made a huge difference

Morning everyone-nice to see some familiar faces from the other side over here. Hope you'll stay around and advise when it's my turn-this bf business sounds pretty tough! I shall google cluster feeding during my conference this morning!

Hope those top ladies are coping ok. I have a horrid stinking cold which I could do without, hope everyone else is staying lurgy free.

Whoever was asking about mat leave (lili?) I'm supposed to be working until 38 wks-finding it really tough going at 36.5 wks though-less physical and more mental for me-I just feel ready to leave work behind and focus on becoming a mum and I'm finding it stressful to keep thinking about work. Maybe that's because I've got no replacement though and so everything feels like its getting left and is really messy and disorganised!

Bit of a me, me, me post but I need to get to bed for reasons explained below.....

So, after Saturday's little incident, here's another one for you - a c section for us at 8am tomorrow! !! Had some very odd movements today so rang hosp who said to come in for a check (was due to go in for one anyway tomorrow) and then the scan showed wombatjunior is being very naughty and has moved into oblique lie position and they have decided s/he's better out than in, particularly as it's imposs to have natural birth with an oblique lie and at 40+5, s/he's unlikely to move back into engaged position. So, please send me lots of positive vibes for tomorrow morning - eeeeeek! I struggle to get onto mn on the blackberry but can get onto fb so any of the ladies I am friends with on there, please feel free to share here with hopefully a lovely update..... eeeeek again!!
