Oh no, how frustrating!!!! How far along are you? I'm 39 weeks tomorrow and praying for something to happen soon. Actually, that's not strictly true - I'm trying to enjoy the freedom I get when my other two are at preschool whilst I still can!
I'm sure all that you went through last night will have affected your cervix and something "proper" will happen soon... Had any other signs at all?

blushingbaby · 17/11/2011 09:01

i'm 37 + 4 so probab massively jumping the gun.
Other signs...
feeling sick
exhausted & nesting
lots of BH
tiny show on monday (non bloody)
lots of loo visits Blush
erm?? i'm sure there are more?
i wish i could enjoy this time, it's just all too achy and i want my body back now. Feel so sorry for ds, 19mo, as I'm struggling to keep him entertained.

Yep, definitely know how you feel - that's pretty much my exact same list of symptoms!! I've got two 4 year olds so at least they're at preschool...

It's for times like these that Ceebeebies was invented for!

Hope something happens for you soon.

cheeptrick · 17/11/2011 10:39

Can i sign in too?

I'm 37+3 weeks, the baby is engaged head down, had lots of BH - in fact i'm still having them and my back hurts but its not labour Sad

I just want to sleep but i have a 2.10 yo to look after.

I'm so fed up now i just want to have my baby.

SpicyMeatball · 17/11/2011 10:41

BlushingBaby, i know exactly how you feel.
I'm 37 weeks today and i'm getting exactly the same symptons.
Was having contractions for 2 and a half hours on tuesday night, but nothing since.
It's very frustrating!
Ah well.. not long now :)

blushingbaby · 17/11/2011 10:49

hi cheeptrick
My dh actually sent me to bed last night!!
I know what you mean about cbbeebies flipping just feel like a crap mum but with shit weather too there's just not many options.
Come on babies!!!

blushingbaby · 17/11/2011 10:52

Hi Spicy, i've seen you on the sweep thread, I'm going in for my first on Monday (38+1) so hopefully... When's yours?

OP posts:
SpicyMeatball · 17/11/2011 10:56

Ah yes i thought i recognised your name Grin.
Good luck, i hope it works for you!
Mine is a week on tuesday, the 29th.
I'll be 38+5 then. Still shitting myself!

blushingbaby · 17/11/2011 10:59

oh, I'll make sure i come and tell you how it goes. FWIW, with ds i had my waters broken when my cervix was still only 1cm without any pain relief, yes it stung but not unbearable at all, I think by then you'll be so glad that something is being done. It's all this sitting around waiting, not being able to control when or where it will happen that's unbearable.

OP posts:
SpicyMeatball · 17/11/2011 11:03

Thankyou that would be great :)
Yes, that's what i'm thinking, i'll just be so relieved to (hopefully) get things moving along!
I agree, it is unbearable! I'm just so uncomfortable, and seems that my morning sickness has returned! Fed up is an understatement :)
Well fingers crossed we see some babies very soon!!

blushingbaby · 17/11/2011 16:16

argh, my back aches really badly, but no coming and going, just hurts. I've hardly over exerted myself, 30 mins at pak with ds that's about it. Looks like i'm in for another comfortable night.

Dawnywoo · 17/11/2011 18:08

Oh yes, I'm 40+1 here and have had period pains / cramps / lower back pain for 3-4 weeks off and on. It's great fun!

The last few nights have been pretty constant though so i'm hoping it means I'm getting there. (If not, then please give me a decent night's sleep naughty baby!!)

twogirls1more · 18/11/2011 06:48

Morning all! Where to start really!?... Had approx 5wks of "signs" incl bouts of painful contractions, show etc etc.. Am 40+3 today, (or 40wks on the nail by LMP.) Had one sweep Mon and a massive bloody show 24hrs later. Soooo fed up now with the waiting around! Been up since 4.30am with semi painful contractions coming every 10mins or so so just really hoping they continue!! (May have to get walking? :() In my previous experience.. (this is baby 4 for me,) contractions haven't really got excrusiating until my waters have gone so may be a while before I know for sure if this is it!
Good luck girls and hope it happens for you soon! :)

flippingstupidnickname · 18/11/2011 06:58

Aww twogirls from the start of your post I thought you'd gone and done it but I see you're still waiting!! Arrrrgggghhhhh I really hope this is it for you - the signs sound promising!

SpicyMeatball and Blushingbaby - how did you manage to get sweeps so early? My next mw appointment is a couple of days before my due date and a sweep hasn't even been mentioned yet Sad

I'm so scared of giving birth now. I tried talking to 'D'H about my fears last night and as soon as it got a bit gruesome he scrunched up his face and said "I don't really want to talk about it" - as if it was him facing genital mutilation Angry Angry Sad Then tried to justify his reaction by saying "men just feel uncomfortable talking about this stuff" - pathetic!

twogirls1more · 18/11/2011 10:09

Good luck to you all! Contractions died down yet again flipping! (would you bloody believe it?!) and just 20mins ago seem to have started again?!! Starting to feel like a freak who just can't labour this time and been v tearful this am..(sodding hormones!!) :( Think if nothing else, nature's really trying to make 100% sure that DH will be off for the snip following this baby and with this being no.4, I NEVER EVER consider becoming pregnant again!!

SpicyMeatball · 18/11/2011 11:07

Flipping, because i'm under the consultant, she wont let me go over due so she's trying to get things moving as soon as possible. :)

blushingbaby · 18/11/2011 11:27

Well more period pains all last night and was on the loo for about an hour Blush, felt really sick aswell but wasn't actually sick.
twogirls you sound really close now, hope it's not long.
flipping my ds was induced (42+2weeks!!) but it ended in emcs so i'm hoping for a vbac but they need to avoid another medical induction (increases risks of rupture) so they want to get things going asap.
I'm due to have 3 from 38-39 weeks according to consultant but mws are being a bit awkward about apps. roll on monday - lets get going baby!!
Going for a walk with ds now, there's only so much bouncing on a ball one girl can do. Smile

OP posts:
twogirls1more · 18/11/2011 13:42

Well had a long walk along seafront this am which really seems to have ramped things up! Hope this is it and it doesn't fade out! Hmm

blushingbaby · 18/11/2011 15:23

ooh, good luck twogirls i'm sure you'll be cuddling your baby very soon!! Smile

OP posts:
flippingstupidnickname · 18/11/2011 16:43

Oooh, exciting!! C'mon twogirls!!

blushingbaby I keep getting period pains too but they are totally random and very infrequent. I had a really upset stomach today but I knew it was too good to be a sign as I feel absolutely fine now. Fingers crossed for more pain for you tonight!

blushingbaby · 18/11/2011 17:00

lol, this has got to be the only time in your life that you (and others) wish for pain.
flipping it could be the calm before the storm.
I'm having a curry tonight with pinapple for pudding but as dear mother pointed out - there is a difference between diarrhea and labour!! Grin

OP posts:
flippingstupidnickname · 18/11/2011 17:06

Although my tummy was so bad earlier that it did remind me a bit of labour... Blush Grin

A friend brought her newborn round today and it made me really broody - lets hope it induced the release of all the right hormones!

I think I'm too exhausted to carry on nesting now. The housework's gone a bit to pot (after having an immaculate house for over a week) but at least all my Christmas shopping is done AND wrapped! Grin (I'm like a little kid around Christmas time - I get so excited)

flippingstupidnickname · 18/11/2011 17:14

BTW Curry for dinner and pineapple for pudding made me PMSL - that's wishful thinking in dinner form! Is DH in for a lucky night too? Grin

blushingbaby · 18/11/2011 17:23

oh yes most definately! Grin good job we have two loos! I'm actually going to trest myself to one of those little bottles of lager too in the hope that it aids in the, 'you just need to be relaxed and it will happen' front, that and a long bath. and then if all else fails sex
I'm sure i've heard of spending time with newborns is a way of releasing hormones though which ones i have no idea.
I can't seem to get my house tidy no matter how much nesting i do, my ds seems to follow me around undoing everything i do.

OP posts:
twogirls1more · 18/11/2011 17:51

Sending you all "labour dust" girls! Looks like tonight could be my nt?!! :) Contractions got a lot more painful though still don't want to believe it's the real thing and be wrong!! Hmm Will let you know... watch this space! If it is the real thing it'll be my 3rd baby I've gone into labour with on my due date by LMP..., (quite proud of myself for that one lol! Grin)
