Sounds like the stage I was at blushing a couple of hours before I went into hospital. Mine ramped up very quickly and by the time I was in car on way to hosp couldn't really talk thru them. Good luck! I have a feeling it'll all kick off for u about 3-4am!? Will be thinking of u whilst up feeding! :)

flippingstupidnickname · 24/11/2011 06:43

Any news blushing?

Hi twogirls if you're up feeding...

blushingbaby · 24/11/2011 09:01

well i'm still here!! Angry
every 7 mins then every 6. I phoned the delivery suit at about 11pm who said stay put and phone again at every 5 mins or if it got too painful (being vbac i want to give them plenty of notice) continued at every 6 mins for another hour then fucking trailed off!!
Have tried to sleep but tbh i cried for about an hour after dh had dropped off Blush then at 4 was awake with pain every 10 mins which again vanished.
My body now aches and i feel like i've got the period from hell.

TMIalert!! i can't imagine how there could be any more plug left in me. I've had nothing on my pad but every time i wipe i get a big blod of dark red mucus. Must have lost about the size of a golf ball throughout the night!?

Hope you're all having more success.

flippingstupidnickname · 24/11/2011 09:59

Noooooooo!!! I felt so sure there'd be a baby blushing by now. Grrrrrrrrrrrr, I feel your pain Sad

Still, maybe on one of those visits to the loo you'll wipe and a baby will drop out instead of more plug...

Keep up the stamina lady, you're very close xx

blushingbaby · 24/11/2011 10:03

lol at wiping out a baby!
Going for a gentle walk with ds, we both need some fresh air! See what today brings.
You ok flipping?

twogirls1more · 24/11/2011 10:21

Big hugs blushing! I soooo feel for you as sounds so much like my work up to labour and quite frankly it was torturous! Hormones all over place too aren't they. :( I echo flipping though, keep up the good work hun, you're so nearly there now! Just think that by this time next week you'll surely be holding your gorgeous new bundle! :)

blushingbaby · 24/11/2011 12:41

Thanks twogirls i know an extra few days is nothing in the grand scheme of things but it feels like an eternity - hormones are shocking.
Been for a walk and still just feeling achy. to make matters worse PIL have inited themselves down for the weekend (though not actually stopping in our house thank god, just near by) MIL phoned last night and asked my plans for tomorrow afternoon (after 3rd sweep) as they'd be down mid afternoon!!! WTF?? I know they want to see ds but my god, i'm not up for making coffee and showing them round the area. Angry

flippingstupidnickname · 24/11/2011 13:16

Aww blushing how bloody annoying! They sound like my PILs Angry...

Still here checking up on you frequently. I'm suddenly feeling very sick and like I'm going to have a really upset stomach Sad. Really could do without a stomach bug at the moment...

blushingbaby · 24/11/2011 14:12

ooh, maybe its the start of a clear out flipping i've heard it can come out, ahem, both ends...

OP posts:
flippingstupidnickname · 25/11/2011 08:32

Blushing - Any news?! Really hoping you're not around because you're in hospital popping out a baby...

Been pretty much awake since 1am - this anxiety is doing me in. 40 weeks today! Smile

blushingbaby · 25/11/2011 10:21

Morning, no still not in labour yet. Had my 3rd sweep this morning, cervix still slightly posterior but 3-4cm now, soft and very stretchy!! Mw said it was very easy to do which i'm sure is good and it didn't hurt so much so i'm guessing everything is that much more flexible iyswim.
Going for yet another walk. PIL down at 3pm but dh is going to take half a day off to look after them so i don't need to.
Congratulations on getting to 40 weeks flipping, you know it can't be long now!!

Just tried to have a nap while the kids are at preschool but couldn't sleep because I was having such painful contractions every few minutes. Was about to phone DH and they completely ground to a halt. Not a dickie bird since Angry If my body's going to play tricks on me why does it have to do it when I'm trying to catch up on sleep?! Angry Got to go and pick the kids up in a bit so that's my chance for a sleep gone... grrrrrr...

Blimey blushing this is turning out to be a very slow and frustrating labour for you... hopefully when it finally gets going it'll be nice and quick and straight forward x

flippingstupidnickname · 26/11/2011 07:33

OK, my optimism about enjoying the calm before the storm is wearing thin now.

I can't sleep because I keep waking up with baby and birth swimming round my head. I spent two hours in the living room sobbing last night because I just didn't know what to do with myself. There's no way I feel I have the energy to give birth and am starting to genuinely worry it's going to get me into trouble.

To top it off I have a cold coming- can't stop sneezing this morning and neither can DS. I really don't know how I'll cope with labour with a stinking cold (or how I'll then cope with a baby and two grumpy, cold filled children) Sad Sad

Sorry for being full of misery and wallowing this morning - just suddenly had enough of this but there is no sign whatsoever of impending arrival...

blushingbaby · 26/11/2011 21:11

Oh flipping I hope you're feeling betther this evening. I know exactly what you mean about fearing that you will not have the energy to give birth, I felt exactly the same yesterday. I think we really have got to the point where we need to take every opportunity to sleep when we can.
I still have not had any signs other than continuing back and period pains. I've spent the day walking round town with dh and PIL and am very tired. I'm also beginning to have huge doubts as to whether my body is actually capable of going into labour naturally. As I was induced (on full drip) last time and it still took an age and emcs to get ds out! Also, I'm 3-4cm, dont seem to have any mucus plug left, mw described waters as easily breakable so I can't really get my head round what's keeping it in there. (me and dh even did the deed last night and nothing!)
I'm trying to stay calm but its such an obsession. I go to bed thinking about labour, i wake up thinking about it and i spend the day thinking about it!
We'll be there soon! Smile

flippingstupidnickname · 26/11/2011 21:28

Good grief, I was convinced you were off having baby blushing today...! You poor thing, sounds like you're suffering a fair bit and I'm amazed that you had the energy to do the deed!!

DH was lovely today and took the kids out so I could have a sleep but I only managed 20 minutes. I'm shattered but I just couldn't sleep Sad.

I ordered a chicken tikka masala in an attempt to get things started but it was the most mild curry I've ever had!! I thought a masala was meant to be hot...

Going to buy some castor oil tomorrow and try it on Monday. I was quite impressed to see that in one study of 100 women over their due date, 58% went into labour shortly after taking castor oil as opposed to 4% of the control group... got to be worth a try, not meant to be a pleasant experience though!

twogirls1more · 27/11/2011 13:20

You poor girls still waiting! Keep checking on here for news! Agony isn't it! I'm already now sick of still looking 7mths gone and desperate to get rid of my leggings! Baby gorgeous and feeding every 1.5hrs so I too am totally knackered! (All worth it though!) Grin

blushingbaby · 27/11/2011 16:14

pleased to hear about your gorgeous baby twogirls, i can't wait! Grin
flipping, I hope you are off having a baby today!
I've got my 4th (yes 4th) sweep tomorrow lunch time. I'm still kind of hoping that i might go before that but it's looking unlikely. Sad
Confession - I had a glass of wine and some blue cheese last night!!! It was sooo nice.

OP posts:
flippingstupidnickname · 27/11/2011 17:13

Nothing wrong with that blushing! I had a glass of wine too and blue cheese is supposed to be fine now!

Blimey - 4th sweep!?! Poor you Sad What are your views on Castor Oil? It's far more controversial than I thought... have you seen my thread on it? I'm seriously considering buying some tomorrow. I know it'll give me a serious dose of upset stomach and make me feel really unwell but I'm quite used to feeling like that as I have endometriosis...! Not sure what to do really as I certainly don't want to do anything risky for the baby, I'm just not convinced it is risky...

twogirls1more · 27/11/2011 17:56

Glad you girls are indulging in a couple of "naughty" treats that you sooo deserve! If nothing else, will take the edge off! I had a glass of wine once in a while towards the end...(helps to keep you sane Wink)
Sorry to hear it's come to a 4th sweep flipping! You must be so fed up with being messed about with! Look forward to news soon frm you both! :)

blushingbaby · 27/11/2011 19:16

hmmm, not really sure about caster oil. When I went over (16 days!!) with ds i looked into it but my gran had used it to try and get my uncle out and said it just made her really poorly before birth (a few days later) I'm not sure if she would have gone into labour then or if it did work. I suppose I'd be a bit worried about the loss of fluids etc and i have heard that it can cause fetal destress though i dont nkow why.
Have you tried inserting oil of evening primrose capsuals? They're supposed to soften your cervix. I used them before my first sweep (which i suppose is not a great advert) but it was soft from the start and with ds it was always a cervix of steel right up until they whacked the drip up onto full!
Sorry not much help. I wouldn't personally unless it was that or an induction/c section but i'm a bit of a coward and my bum's unpredictable enough without any extra help.
Let me knw what you decide though!

OP posts:
blushingbaby · 28/11/2011 09:04

flipping, I've just read your other thread. Have you made a decision yet? It really seems quite inconclusive...
If you do maybe you could start with a tiny amount then take a bit more if nothing happens?? I really sympathise with your desparation. How long have you got before hosp induction? Could you wait until a day or two before that? I completely understand wanting to avoid induction and would refuse to ever have that done to me again. What about sweeps??
Just sending you lots of hugs and spontaneous labour wishes!
I'm wondering how long it is physically possible to walk around at 3cm dilated without baby falling out!? Hmm

OP posts:
flippingstupidnickname · 28/11/2011 14:39

blushing - I can't believe you're still pregnant!!!! Grrrrr! PMSL at the thought of the baby dropping out - it does seem rather gravity defying!

I think I've decided to hold off the castor oil until a bit closer to an induction looming. I have a sweep on Wednesday so we'll see what that brings. Hopefully I'm panicking a bit prematurely as I'm not that far over yet, it's just that there doesn't seem to be ANYTHING happening to make me think this baby's going to come out before I need to be induced. I've not had a show (other than the tiniest bit a couple of weeks ago), am having no twinges and even my cervix has popped well out of reach again - I seem to be going backwards!

I like your idea of maybe trying a small amount, maybe half a dose or something but I'll wait and see what Wednesday brings first...

Hope you're feeling ok, you must be INCREDIBLY frustrated now. I really hope things get a move on for you soon - at this rate you'll be giving birth to a toddler! xx

blushingbaby · 28/11/2011 15:58

lol at giving birth to a toddler!
4th sweep this morning and feel very sore and achey now but hoping that's good. Cervix as it was, 3-4cm, stretchy, soft etc but has now moved to anterior rather than posterior which is good. I've got m 5th booked for wednesday.
flipping I think you're right to wait until after sweep, only two days (she says desperately hoping she's not pregnant for another two days).
Remember, lots of women never have a show and their waters don't break until they're in labour. Also I've had loads of bloody show and its got me nowhere!! you just can't tell whats going on inside.
Smile

OP posts:
flippingstupidnickname · 29/11/2011 08:53

Blimey blushing can't believe you're on your 5th sweep. Doesn't give me much hope for mine to work tomorrow!

The anxiety of the whole thing is really getting to me now. I'm so worried about how the whole thing's going to pan out in terms of childcare and even more worried as it gets closer and closer to my twins' birthday. I just know that sod's law means that I'll be in hospital for their party Sad.

So I'm working on the premise that having cramping intestines and an upset stomach can bring on labour. I have endometriosis which causes IBS symptoms... I know for a fact that if I eat cream I get an upset stomach so I'm going to drop the kids at preschool and then go to Sainsbury's to pick up a big, fat cream eclair. If it doesn't work at least I'll die happy Grin...

blushingbaby · 29/11/2011 10:10

When's you twin's birthday? Can't there party be reorganised if needs be? Did you go over before in pregnancy? Sorry to hear about your IBS. My mum and grandad (did) have it and I know how much pain it can cause. Lol at waiting for someone to tell you that it will cause complications - i'm sure someone will!!
I've had lots more cramping and more bloody show since yesterday's sweep. Praying something happens today so i don't get to my 5th. I really do have a cervix of steel so don't let me having so many put you off.
Oh, and try rubbing your ankles (on the inside above the sticky out bone) that's a reflexology point. It seems to cause a few cramps (though that might just be the effort in bending over to reach them)
Good luck with the cream! Grin
