Hi ladies-can I be a bit me, me for a moment. Just been to see mw and I've been measuring small all along, but she's asked me to stay for another scan. I had a growth scan about 32 weeks which was fine, she says she just wants to be on the safe side but I'm panicking a bit cos I'm on my own. I think a few of you have had this and kindly reassured me before and I know it's no exact science the way they measure but I was at a hen do at the weekend and no-one would believe how far along I was-I'm getting a bit scared now! I noticed they didn't even tell me the measurement so I figure it must be pretty under normal Sad

stitchinline · 23/11/2011 10:19

Doo sending (((((hugs)))))) am sure it is fine - I think daisy measured small and pip was all fine in the end - good they are doing a scan right now though to set you at ease.

KatAndKit · 23/11/2011 10:25

doo hope your scan goes well and all is fine. I think the tape measure system is somewhat approximate at best and if you have been measuring small up to now, fingers crossed that this is nothing to be concerned about.

dooscooby · 23/11/2011 10:50

Thanks guys -you're right, its just anything a tiny bit 'abnormal' and the fear is right there again, especially getting so close to the end. Looks like I might be waiting a while, there goes my 11am work mtg!

Welcome kat -wishing you all the best with the scan and glad to have you over here.

wombatinwaiting · 23/11/2011 11:00

Lurking for news of digi (good luck today) and big welcome to kat.

From what I know doo the measuring thing is massively unreliable, even taking scan measurements into account. Keep us posted on what they say - sending hugs and doughnuts.

Blackkat - I have heard that you need to eat 8 pineapples to get the right amount of enzymes necessary to get things going - after you, m'dear! IS anyone else on r leaf tea? I can't get it here and slightly worried what I'll suffer from by not having it....

Hugs to irene too. Can DH or anyone else be a "gatekeeper" for you with all the visitors? If only for a couple of days while you're feeling low?

Pleased to report that I am def feeling better and believe it or not, got a burst of excitement today and the thought of bringing wiwjunior home..... slightly Shock it has taken me this long, but it's a nice feeling Smile

dooscooby · 23/11/2011 11:27

I'm on the r leaf tea wiw-I quite like it but most seem to hate it. Happily send you some over-no idea whether it works or not but I drink liquids by the gallon so it's just nice to have something different! So pleased you've got a bit of excitement creeping in now Wink. Still waiting for scan-feeling sick with hunger now and the vending machine is broke!

Blackkat · 23/11/2011 11:55

doo sending hugs xx sure daisy did have this scan too and pip ended up at around 8 pounds I think. Think velvet had this too and all was well with Eva. Hope you get seen soon and find some food and drink x x

wiw I have 6 more pineapples to go then! Grin
glad to hear you are feeling better and getting a little excited x x
Can also send you rasp tea if you'd like?

waits for news from digi

dooscooby · 23/11/2011 14:10

Thanks for the hug blackat. So all seems well with baby, perfect size and estimated weight of 5Lb 11 oz-phew. That was my second growth scan so I think I can relax about bump size now and ignore anyone else who tells me I'm small. Nice to be reassured tho and I got to see bub-full on face shot this time. The sonographer said twice-"look at its chubby cheeks!" feel like a proud Mum already Grin

KatAndKit · 23/11/2011 14:11

Fantastic news, so glad all is well and you had a lovely scan too.

stitchinline · 23/11/2011 14:12

Brilliant news Doo so pleased all is well

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 23/11/2011 14:12

Aaaw doo that's great Smile sounds like everything's on track for you and baby now...

Biscuitsandtea · 23/11/2011 14:14

Great news Doo - well done :)

wombatinwaiting · 23/11/2011 15:06

Great news doo and chubby cheeks are the cutest! Grin

I should think with 8 pineapples blackkat, something inside would move, but it may not be your baby! Grin

wombatinwaiting · 23/11/2011 15:07

Oh and thanks for offer of sending r leaf tea but I reckon it would take 5-7 days to reach here and all being well, it might be too late by then!

And on another subject, who wants to start the new thread? I think it should be one of our latest signups.....

KatAndKit · 23/11/2011 15:09

I'm hoping digi will come along in her graduation cap and gown and kick off the new thread to celebrate!

digitalgirl · 23/11/2011 15:50

Scan went well, baby measures fine and we're team surprise! Am 19+2 today.

On another happy note, my friend had her baby (one week overdue) in same hospital yesterday and we snuck in a quick visit after the scan. So lovely to see a newborn and remind ourselves what it's all about.

On phone at the mo but will try and start new thread.

Biscuitsandtea · 23/11/2011 15:53
