Velvetcu · 19/11/2011 01:42

Ooooh exciting times at the top of the list!

bigmacandhappymeal · 19/11/2011 02:30

Anyone else up?

Velvetcu · 20/11/2011 04:36

Wow it was.very quiet yesterday! Are we to expect a few announcements today?

CollieandPup · 20/11/2011 04:39

Well it's THE DAY today!!!! Had the most disgusting amount of gunk which was lightly streaked with blood yesterday followed by intense period pains and what felt like mild contractions starting at night and lasting all day. Completely irregular though but felt/sounded very much like latent labour. Really thought it was going to be it! Bloody uncomfortable/in pain all day!

Went for a walk at teatime in the hope it would help move things on and i was totally knackered by the time I went to bed. But now, nothing!!!! Diddily squat!!!! All quiet!!!! Sad

Having said that, I'm also totally bricking it!!!! I'm sooooo scared!!! Will someone please tell me it won't be that bad and I'll be ok???? ....please? (I don't mind being lied to! Smile )

My smug friend who was due the day after me but popped last Saturday wrote that 'he'll come when he's ready' on my fb wall yesterday!!! Felt like walloping her!!! I know she's right and means well but I just wanted to scream 'oh fuck off' (sorry). I wouldnt mind but she had no niggles or signs, waters just broke and into labour she went!!! On that note, wiw please take note that BH (which I've had from 20 odd weeks and regularly for 3 weeks) are clearly not a sign that things will happen soon!!! When I mentioned them she hadn't had one and barely knew what I was talking about!!!

How are all the other top of the listers?! Ohhh it is sooooo exciting having so many fully cooked ladies up there!!!

OP posts:
CollieandPup · 20/11/2011 04:41

Sadly not from me!! Sad

How are you? How's Eva?

OP posts:
Velvetcu · 20/11/2011 04:49

Yay collie for edd Grin I had a few episodes of pre-labour so when it actually happened I spent the whole day thinking am I/aren't I? Labour and birth really is ok from my experience, it's the state of your fanjo afterwards that's the problem! Besides, baby has to come out one way or another so don't stress about it. Have you tried pineapple juice to get things moving?

CollieandPup · 20/11/2011 05:08

Oh god velvet I'm sick of spotting signs so god knows how you coped with your false labours!!! Something was definitely going on yesterday though, I'm just a bit fed up its gone quiet. They say latent labour can do that and then pick up a few hours later/the next day.....but then they also say it could go on for weeks!!!! I may shoot myself if it's the latter!!!

I've had fresh pineapple although not regulary as I've read you actually need to eat 8 whole ones to get the right amount of whatever it is that can set you off. I'm on raspberry leaf tea AND capsules, although realise they are more for 2nd stage of labour!

Was going to ave a curry last night but ended up with a rather mild (but yummy) Chinese! May have to substitute Sunday roast for something spicy tonight!

OP posts:
Ireneisback · 20/11/2011 06:46

Collie, it is awful when you're so desperate to get things moving. I really hated the ten days Joe was overdue. Ladies at the top, don't worry you'll forget the labour when your snuggly little ones come on the scene.

I feel nearly back to normal now, I'm so pleased at how easily I've recovered from the c section. It is so nice being able to lie down in whatever position I want in bed in comfort. My fat ankles and feet are even getting smaller although my fat belly is taking longer but is heading in the right direction. Still having to wear my maternity jeans though, the others rub my scar.

Baby is being fantastic, he sleeps most nights through until 4am, but then that's two hours of feeding and burping before DS1 gets up at 6am. Am tired but it could be worse.

wombatinwaiting · 20/11/2011 08:11

Oh collie - that's tough for you. Did you manage some decent sleep? I can imagine the waiting must be hard - on the one hand wanting something to happen and on the other, the anxiety of what's about to happen. SEnding you lots of hugs, stamina, mental strength and chocolate biccies.

Still not feeling anything remotely like wombatjunior is on the way - went to aquaerobics this morning which s/he seemed to enjoy. Generally getting a bit more movement it seems. Got some vits b6 and b12 on m/w's advice to help with depression - I can't tell you how low I'm feeling at the mo - I just want to curl up into a ball on my bed and hang the rest of the world. It's hard as the parents are here still and electricians are coming and going as the air con has decided to stop working in the middle of an unusually hot spell for this time of year..... grrr..... I'm usually such a positive person that I have been taken quite by surprise by the depth of feeling. I"m sure it's mostly hormones, bloody things.

Great to hear from you irene and glad that your LO is being quite a treasure and that you're recovering well from the c section.

And you too velvet - how is mumhood?

Glad you're feeling so much better bigmac and yay for LO latching on cep - your perseverance has been rewarded!

cep · 20/11/2011 18:51

evening ladies, hope everyone had a good weekend.

Haven't been on for a couple of days as things have been so hectic. can only be quick tonight as dh needs the comp, main thing was to see how collie was doing. I remembered it was your due date hon, sorry things seem to be so frustrating fx things will start moving soon, am thinking of you.

bfing still going well, except friday night/sat morning he was cluster feeding so on boob every 10-20 mins from 2.20 - 6.45 i am soooo knackered. last night we gave him a expressed bottle so i could sleep, which lasted till 4. Saw mw this evening and she reckons it was cause of the 10 day growth spurt. he's gaining weight so he's getting enough milk. still a tinge of jaundice though. right i shall be popping on tomorrow to see if there's any news.

good luck all you ladies due over next few days.

bigmacandhappymeal · 20/11/2011 21:12

Evening all

wiw so sorry to hear your feeling like this - when are you next seeing the MW? Are you talking to people/family/friends in RL? Hate to think of you keeping all this to yourself

Hello irene and all the others on the other side! irene i just spent a couple of minutes drooling about the idea of being able to lie how I want in bed :)

cep great news re bfing although cluster feeding sounds ... interesting

Lots of twinges in Camp Bigmac but nothing regular yet - fear not collie I would be very surprised if there was any baton stealing from me! And happy Due Date!

How's everyone else? What news?

stitchinline · 21/11/2011 13:45

Collie hope you are not left in limbo for too long and pup make an appearance for you soon

cep good to hear bfing is going well

wiw sorry to hear you are feeling so low atm

bigmac hello! sure you don't want to steal that baton :o

Waves to velvet and Irene

It is very quiet in here these days ? might have to go over to the FO room to lure some ladies over and then pounce with the stapler.

Have my GTT on Thursday which should be interesting ? would be horrible to have to give up sugar just before christmas , then the MW on Friday for a little check-up.

I am starting to get a few wibbles about it all, never expected to get this far and the prospect of actually having a real baby is becoming more a reality and it?s starting to scare me a bit Shock

shellshock7 · 21/11/2011 13:58

Yeah it is very quiet!

cep glad things have improved on the breast feeding front Smile

wiw hope you are feeling a bit better for the start of a new week

Hi stitch I had my 25 week appt today and they said they will take bloods at the next one...will this be for GTT? If so I'm hoping its ok too, no choc at xmas would be nightmare along with no wine!

Its still not hitting me really stitch that there is a baby at the end of all this, think its cos I'm finding pregnancy quite hard...decided to brave the shops on Sat and lasted a couple of hours, big mistake, couldn't really move yesterday with the pain, ended up crying on DH in the evening Blush Lot better today tho, so been ordered to do the rest of my xmas shopping online! I imagine I will feel a lot like you when the realisation hits!

My cousin has just told me she is pregnant, due 3.5 months after me so am really excited for her (and me having a buddy on maternity leave!)...she is going through all the early stage worries tho (she is 9 weeks) and I really feel for her - its not easy this baby lark is it!

minnie congrats on termness, hope you are resting with your feet up now you are on ML

Hoping all well with Collie, lara, Bigmac after the weekend rumblings.
mac how was the BP today?? x

WiW hope you are having a better day today?

izzy how're you?

cep so pleased to hear the bf is going well Smile

to Irene and to Velvet nice to hear from the other side, velvet trying hard to ignore your fanjo comment!! Grin

Shell sorry to hear you were in pain at the w/end - online shopping really is the way forward Smile

Stitch, Shell, I'm 38 wks, just taken delivery of a buggy and still haven't really come to terms with the realisation that a baby is on the way.

In terms of itch update - the porridge is still working a treat - and I rang the oncall m/w today, after an itchy night and nettlerash like lumps under my skin. She told me that PUPPS was so unusual I couldn't have it, and to take a piriton....Confused... so if nothing improves, other than the porridge remedy then I will head to gp. ((hugs to YRMOTB & Harassed I will be forever grateful for the porridge relief!)

stitchinline · 21/11/2011 15:29

Aaagh just got off phone from anti-co sister and apparently my last anti-x assay level was 0.23 ? am supposed to be aiming for between 0.3 and 0.6. This is stress I don?t need, why won?t my body behave itself. Is anyone else on heparin and if so what dose are they on??

I am now panicking about all the complications that can happen because of my stupid clotty blood. Going back Friday to have the test repeated and they?ll increase if still low but now wondering if I should be going back sooner. Only thing is I am already going to be at the hospital for most of the mornings on Thursday and Friday so didn?t want to have to do another one ? can?t have the test til 11am so effectively takes a half day to do it.

shellshock pregnancy is very hard, i?m in pain most of the time either from my back, belly, dry retching cos I haven?t got gaviscon down fast enough after I?ve eaten or massive lumps and bruises from a really bad injection. I feel like a horrible person when I moan to dh as I am so grateful and happy to be pregnant but would love to just fast forward to the end now and have my baby now. Hoping by finishing work early I?ll get in a better frame of mind for all that?s to come. Luckily we don?t have to do much xmas shopping at all so hoping to get most in the post this weekend and the rest will be ordered online for direct delivery to OZ :o

blackkat hope the itching improves ? you must tell me about the porride remedy, I?m quite an itchy person so that might come in handy :)

bigmacandhappymeal · 21/11/2011 16:11

7 at the top - blimey!

Bp is a bit better thanks blackkat but I'm puffy and headachy so have to go back on Thurs (or tomorrow if the headache doesn't go) for another recount. Have been getting the priorities sorted today - haircut and roots done - I wonder if I'll ever get my hair done again? :)

No other news from me - still really twingey but think this might go on for a while and very tired so am going to get off the computer and "do my hypnotherapy" aka have a lovely snooze

Sorry for crap update - go on stitch drag some of the FO ladies over!

dooscooby · 21/11/2011 16:24

7 at the top - gotta be a record! Quick phone catch up from me. Hoping collie is hanging in there and looking forward to hearing a flurry of happy announcents in the next week or so. Back to work for me tomorrow-only 9 working days to go-feels like an eternity!

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 21/11/2011 17:48

Hello all - goodness that list looks a bit manic, I'm expecting lots of good news over the next week or two (hopefully including my own, scary though that is!)

blackkat I'm not following the logic in "PUPPPs is rare so you can't have it" - clearly some people do!! When I got it, it started on my bump and was unbearably itchy. Do go and see someone else if it carries on because if it is PUPPPs they can give you low-dose steroids etc. And if you've got any questions feel free to ask me!

Hope all those with early labour symptoms see some progress soon..,

No news here - just feeling big and huge and big and huge...you get the idea. Not really sure I've got my head around it all yet - keep making myself peep into the nursery but can't actually imagine a baby in that cot!

LAF77 · 21/11/2011 20:40

Wow, 7 ladies at the top! Gosh, that could suddenly mean that I will seem a lot closer to the top in the next 2 weeks and I don't know if I'm ready for that! Thinking of you all and hope that you are as comfortable as can be.

BTW, regarding the list, I know banana hasn't been on here for a long time, but I know that she had a daughter, Olivia, 2 Saturdays ago, so not sure if she should be in the "thinking of" section. Ladybee is 16 weeks pg and hairy triangle goes by hairylights now and she is 31 weeks, but still on the freakout thread. I don't know what the protocol is for moving people around on the list!

I can feel definite movements now which is wonderful. I was sitting at my desk this morning and I felt this strange pulsing in my rib cage. I thought I was having some sort of spasm, but a friend told me that it probably was the baby. I was surprised that the movement was so high up, but I guess in a sitting position, it might be more noticeable. I can feel the flutterings in my abdominal area several times throughout the day. I tell myself that I have just over one more week to go before I cross into the week of viability. I want him to stay put!

stitch here's to hoping you can enjoy mince pies over Christmas. I found that I was eating a lot of sugary things last week. There was a lot of baking going on in the office for Children in Need. I haven't had too much today. I'm sorry that you are feeling stressed about the heparin injections and your results. I can't help you as I'm only on aspirin, but lady and kat are on heparin on the FO thread. I feel the aches and pains more now too and I don't want to complain because I am so happy to think about my baby, but sometimes it is agony.

shell I feel your pain about trundling around the shops and the effort that it takes. We took a look at prams on Saturday to try and get a feel for what looked like the one for us. I was on my feet for far too long and it was uncomfortable. Our bodies are changing and it is still an adjustment to realise that life isn't as it was before.

I start pg yoga this week and I moved into a maternity swimming cossie at the weekend, so I'm now an aqua blimp!

CollieandPup · 22/11/2011 12:00

Morning everyone. Just a quick post from me to let you know Isaac Thomas was born yesterday at 3.17 weighing 8lb 7oz. We had a great home birth with pool managing on tens and gas and air (which I'm both very proud of and amazed at), but had to go in for stiching for a 2nd degree tear. Home in a couple of hours though and enjoying him so much!

Good luck to the rest of you at the top of the list. I'll be lurking for news. Nice to hear more news from some of the newer members.... You'll have to lure more over from the FO room! Xx

OP posts:
Purpletoes · 22/11/2011 12:14

Congratulations collie hope you enjoy all the snuggles with Isaac

Biscuitsandtea · 22/11/2011 12:15

And then there were 6 left at the top!

That's super news Collie Smile congratulations! Grin and sounds like it was a nice home birth too (bar the stitching bit) so well done on that too. And a lovely name too

Look forward to hearing how you're getting on xx

LAF77 · 22/11/2011 12:20

Congrats collie I love the name Isaac, it is on my list!
