these ones are best

Youremindmeofthebabe · 21/09/2011 13:04

daisy very good luck for tomorrow! Fx for labour overnight, but if not then the end is in sight! Can't wait to hear all about your new baby!

Blackkat · 21/09/2011 13:16

YRMOTB thanks so much - you've really put my mind at rest Grin
Yep team yellow so white stuff all the way Smile

to Onions nice to have you back and hear all is well...despite kitchen renovations!

harassedandherbug · 21/09/2011 13:53

Hello from the sofa! I was sooo stupid and didn't go to the docs on Monday as we had people popping round for my birthday. So typically was in absolute agony on Monday night. I got 2 hours sleep, and spent all night on the sofa watching crap tv. I was in tears it was so bad. Dh took yesterday off, saw emergency gp and now have cocodamol and a sick note for 2 weeks. My boss is faaaar from impressed, but I can finish my projects from home this week....... otherwise he can get stuffed. I'm soo sore, glad I have consultant next week.

onions lovely to see you back, I do think you're mad on the kitchen front Grin!

Blackkat just to second everything bigmac says! I also have 30% off at Gap code if you're ordering online? Message me if you want it, not sure if I'm allowed to put it on here.....

Collie & velvet how are you feeling??

CollieandPup · 21/09/2011 14:14

Ohh harassed poor you!!!

You silly billy for not going to the doctors but I do understand the torment you end up feeling about it! Glad you are off now, make sure you dont do too much finishing those projects- Sod your arsehole boss!!

blackkat I'm a little Sad to hear you still feel too anxious to buy anything for baby, but you must do what ever you feel is best, no point making yourself buy things and getting stressed about it. You really don't need much, as you've said. And there is always online shopping during feeds to be done when kitten arrives! I would say in addition to what's been said already, a blanket, somewhere for baby to sleep...Moses basket? And car seat. If you think you'll need to order your pram in advance, ie if it's new there tends to be a wait, maybe you could ask your mum to order this and deal with it? Don't you live in the sticks too? If so, I'm planning on getting a bt of formula milk in... Just in case, as the nearest shop open at night is a 20min drive. Not sure on your views about that, but might be a good idea....but DH could also get this later on way home from hospital.

yrmotb I've read lots f people on mn say that about gap socks!! How strange!

I'm ok thanks for asking. Sleep awful Sunday night, very restless but did sleep Monday night, and quite good last night so today I'm feeling much better and have even been out for a swim!

Ohh harassed can I have the gap code?

Also, I wondered if any of you ladies want to connect via bookface? So many of you, who have been my lifeline through this journey, are getting close to popping/already have, and I would really love to be able to stalk you keep up with babies developments, as understandably people are busy and have babies to look after post birth, so we dont hear much from them on here.

PM me if you do.

bigmacandhappymeal · 21/09/2011 14:26

Afternoon

blackkat you'll be fine with a few bits I reckon (i'm also not going mad on clothes). Like collie i'm just sad that you're feeling that way. However you want to handle it is fine - that's what 24 hour shopping and the internet is for.

collie I do preggers pilates and really rate it. I did it for a year pre-pg and it made a huge difference to my posture. The preggers version is more focussed on relaxation, breathing techniques , posture and pelvic floor, pelvic floor, pelvic floor. Oh, and doing exercises that knack your legs but in a good way.

Hi onions! Hope the house is sorted swiftly and pre-babyonion.

Could do with a nap this afternoon... wonder if I can get away with it?

cep · 21/09/2011 14:28

harassed is this for your head??? what did the gp say about it as you've had it for sooo long now?

blackkat hiya sweet, babygrow/vests, sleepsuits, socks, couple of hats (imo don't really need more than 2 of these unlikely to get dirty), and a cardigan as it'll be winter. Should be fine, and as yrmotb said you want some in both newborn and 0-3. I'm packing a couple of each in my hospital bag just incase.

daisy so glad your dh was able to stare her down, wishing you all the best for tomorrow. Can understand your wibble but YOU WILL BE ABSOLUTELY FINE

harassedandherbug · 21/09/2011 14:28

collie I've messaged you!

I think bookface is a good idea. I met a bunch of ladies from a different forum Shock when prg with dd. She's now 5 and we're all still in touch, we're on bookface and set up a private group for just us. It's been great. We all meet up and the support over the years has been amazing. They really are some of my closest friends! One of them has just sent me, for free, a huuuuge box of re-usable nappies..... They're fabulous!

bigmacandhappymeal · 21/09/2011 14:31

Oo can I have the gap code too please harrassed? Hope you start to feel better over the next few days and hurrah for sticking it to your boss. Don't make me get the haddock out on you for working from home though...

I think bookface is a lovely idea collie. Will PM soon with details.

cep · 21/09/2011 14:32

oh xposted with a few.

collie obviously have each other on fb already but like the idea, maybe another private group like harassed said?

bigmacandhappymeal · 21/09/2011 14:37

private group is a great idea cep/harassed

harassedandherbug · 21/09/2011 14:50

cep it's for my spd. Headache is long forgotten compared to stupid knackered pelvis!!!

Blackkat · 21/09/2011 15:10

Harassed so sorry to hear you are still feeling rubbish, so pleased you've been signed off though, what a relief. Please do get some rest and make sure you're properly waited on. Your bday presents sounded lovely. Smile

I'd love the Gap code if you wouldn't mind please.

collie I know I'm probably being stupid, but I still can't really believe it's happening. We've kindly been given a Moses basket and are being lent a carry cot, bath and car seat base. I know I need to buy a pram, I've even asked how long it will take at Mothercare, so I can put it off until I need to. My Mum has knitted two beautiful cable blankets, and my MIL has a steriliser from nieces and nephew that is coming our way. It's the clothes thing that gets me, bcs I've wanted to do it for so long that I'm worried I'll go beserk and on some mad Hollywood-esque spending spree in wait for it Mothercare, or Sainsburys Confused - hence thinking sending Mum to get some basics means I can do it more leisurely later and not look like a woman possessed I'm reassured by YRMOTB and Harassed that I can cope with a few bits at first - and yes having some formula is a good idea a couple of people have mentioned that in case I can't BF.

Right trying to stay calm, despite ongoing wibbles

Blackkat · 21/09/2011 15:12

Sorry x posts with you all, private group a splendid idea...over to you Collie! x

CollieandPup · 21/09/2011 15:32

Oh blackkat it's not silly at all!! Sorry if I suggested I thought that at all. Just Sad because as you say, it's been a long road for you to get here. But you will have plenty of time for buying gorgeous stuff you don't need once it's here! Sounds like you having lots given to you too which is handy, and you really don't need to buy many clothes as you'll just get lots as gifts too.
Smile

Ok, I'll get on the case and try and set up a group later when I can be bothered getting our ancient laptop out and waiting an hour for it to boot up!

harassed you soooooo don't look 41!!! I want some of whatever cream you've been using! xxx

milkyways · 21/09/2011 15:36

bigmac Hope you're having a better day today! A good cry seems to make everything so much better!

collie Glad you had a good nights rest!

blackkat, I can completely understand why you wouldn't want to buy anything for the baby, but I second what collie says. You know what is best for you, and just take your time. Maybe start with a few small bits like a pack of vests? Then work your way up?

Agree with YRMOTB, GAP socks are brilliant. My DD lives in them, and even after a million washes, they still remain in excellent condition.I couldn't resist these socks They are nice and thick and so cute!

harrassed Hope you're feeling better! x

Well had my backache again last night. It doesn't hurt during the day, because I try to stay active, and then it hits me at night. Thankfully DH used the palms of his hands this time, and it felt better, but ended up sitting up in bed with a cushion to keep my back straight. He massaged it again before leaving for work this morning, which was lovely! The tennis ball massage sounds amazing - I can imagine how great that would feel. Need to go out and buy a tennis ball now! We only have a cricket ball in the house, somehow I don't think it would give the same effect!

Oh, also didn't have my parentcraft class last night! Mine are in October, when I will be nearly 29 weeks. I've been booked into the all day one on a Saturday, because all the evening sessions were fully booked Angry. A bit annoyed about that, as they told me to wait until 20 weeks to book them, and when I did, they were all booked up!

bigmacandhappymeal · 21/09/2011 16:02

I've just had a look at the Gap site and have come over all funny at the sight of the little things. My mum has bought me a winter suit in white with little ears. Gulp.

I am having a better day today thanks lovely ladies but can still feel the hormonal tidal wave around the corner. It was a very good cry indeed with some lovely irrational declarations, grumbles and Alice Cooper eyeliner running.

milky poor you and that backache. I wasn't allowed to open the packet of tennis balls under our stairs last night as the rest of the balls in the tube would "lose their bounce" Angry. I assured MrB that some other balls might also lose their bounce if the packet wasn't opened double quick time!
Avoid the cricket ball - you don't want red bits on your whites.

My parentcraft session is in a couple of weeks when I'll be almost 33wks (now worrying that I've left it too late!)

Daisybell1 · 21/09/2011 16:27

Afternoon all!

Bigmac Grin at the pram usage. I tried to tempt my friend's daughter into it today but friend didn't want to mess it up pre Daisybean. Am starting to think that no-one loves my pram Confused wibbles at thought of being a pram reject Good luck for your consultant's appointment - if they can't do an epidural, is there something else you could have instead?

Loving the mummy-wisdom from Pink, so glad all is well and am besotted with your name choices. It may be a bit late to start but I've downloaded some birth hypnotherapy stuff to take with me tomorrow. At the very least it should help me sleep at night.

Izzy good luck for your tests, FX for you

Blackkat sorry you're having wobbles. Your little list sounds perfect. When my health visitor came to visit she wanted to know if we had a pack of nappies, something for baby to wear, and somewhere for it to sleep (a drawer would suffice!). She was very chilled about it. My first purchase came from the charity shop (a pack of little vests), they didn't feel 'significant' if that makes sense?

Collie that domino birth thing sounds perfect! Proper continuity of care, as it should be

lovely to see you again!

Harassed glad you have a sick note and sod your boss!

Can I do the bookface thing too please? I do worry about crossing over to the dark side leaving you all!

Thank you for the reassurance re induction, and the t-shirt. Am feeling better about both today, all's packed and ready to go. A few niggles from Daisybean over night but nothing major. Need to persuade OH that DtD is worth a try to encourage her out....

IreneHeron · 21/09/2011 18:05

Ooh, how do you do a private group on FB. I'll join.

Velvetcu · 21/09/2011 18:08

Can I have the gap code too please Smile

CollieandPup · 21/09/2011 18:13

okay, bookface group set up (i think)!!

For those of you that i am already/now friends with, i (think) I've added you.

If you want to join, PM me your fb name and either a description of your profile pic or your email address attached to your account, so if there is more than one of you i can find you.

cep · 21/09/2011 21:55

just popping back on to say GOOD LUCK for tomorrow Daisy.

harassed i hate spd, i get a constant ache in my groin all day. and can be horrendous at night if i lie on my back. But it's both my groin and my back that hurts.

CollieandPup · 21/09/2011 22:42
