lara aghh I hate that MN keeps swallowing your posts. I find I log in, type a reply and press post and its taken me so long that it logs me back out!!! Never used to do that and HUGELY annoying!
lara I got my pram from a small local baby shop ? but affiliated to a larger independent home furnishing store. I think the prices in there were standard and very much comparable to JL, but they had an offer on so we got a free maxi cosi car seat and I joined their baby club which also gets me £50 any purchases when I collect the pram (and we still need but footmuff etc) and free afternoon tea in their cafe! YAY! I did look online but very few places have competitive offers, especially not when you take into account the free car seat. I think in all we could have got it £40 cheaper, but for that I?d rather have bought it from a store I can go back to (with a good local reputation) and good returns policy. Having said that, without the car seat offer the savings might have been more like £150+ but I still think buying from a reputable store is worth it though.
Thankfully the whole pram buying experiences wasn?t as painful as anticipated as we only paid a deposit!
Izzy I looked at the Oyster and think its very practical. In fact, it was DH?s preferred model. Its really easy to manoeuvre and has a good turning circle and is the easiest pram to put up and down that I?ve come across. But what I didn?t like about it was it felt a bit flimsy (and my friend who has one says it is a bit) and I am not that keen on it atheistically. Its also quite a reasonable price. Haven?t tried the Icandy Cheery but did like the Peach. Very good quality.
orange well done on the bag packing and for feeling relaxed about it. That is definitely one thing I can?t imagine being prepared for!
Yay for mamap and pink meet up. How lovely.
cep sorry bump is still quiet. Are you ?counting the kicks?? Do you feel like you get 9 a day? (Is that the right amount?) Pup is definitely quieter in the days, and some days I don?t feel much either. I think if your feeling movement at night things are probably ok, maybe that?s just its pattern? But if you?re worried see your mw. A Doppler fix is never a bad thing!
Ps VERY impressed by your homemade blinds!!! No, will please everyone stop being housewife/mother goddesses as I am starting to get a complex that I am a useless, talentless whale.
daisy glad you are feeling a bit better and managing some food. Now, WHY do you need pushchair details? Don?t you already have 3????
harassed haha, that does look suspiciously like a bugaboo. Good price too! I was reading a post in products the other day and a poor lady had bought a cameleon off ebay in what she thought was a great deal. Turned out if was a fake. So not such a good deal. How?s things with you? Have you settled into your new place nicely?
minnie how are you today? Did you ask about movement ? sorry I think I missed it but saw someone else?s reply. I think the little flutters I thought I could feel started to feel little stronger at 17wks and I?d say but 18-19wks I was definitely sure I could feel the baby. DH even caught the odd kick at 19wks too ? if we concentrated really hard. I was mesmerised the other day watching my belly bounce!!
yrmotb how are you? Thanks for updating the stats, but what about you? We want to know how you are?
Hello to LivinInTheMoment and Katherine - sorry I missed you both last time.
Special waves to nix and owl - whooo 38wks!
Think I?ve decided to change our NCT classes. I know the Nov dates gives us 2 weeks, but if pup makes an early appearance we?ll miss out, and I think I really need DH to hear from someone other than my mw our homebirth options, as he?s completely anti it at the moment, for no reason other than ignorance and fear. I don?t know if its what I want, but because of this attitude (perpetuated by MIL and SIL) a conversation about it is impossible.
Ohh, and I booked a 4D scan for us today for 31st August. DH is mega exited!
