Absolutely not, daisy - they will be lovely and soft unlike brand new stuff.

Hoorah for all the good scan news :)

Minnie I swear by antenatal pilates. My entire body is now properly fooked but my back is absolutely fine and I am convinced that is the only reason! It's really good for helping you regulate your breathing and helps you practice pelvic floor exercises whilst you're at it. Tis ace. I'm still going now (although suspect next week will have to be the last week).

  • everything okay missus? Are you still dahn sarf?

MamaP yes - I've lost a few epic posts like that too, I've got into the habit of copying them before I hit post as otherwise there is swearing Grin

Regarding the list - I think we may have to describe Wobblewatcher as missing in action as she doesn't appear to have posted on MN since February - Inbetweener is therefore now top of the list and me and Nix are second. Yikes. I will attempt to tidy and update it but in a separate post I think.

owlbooty · 21/07/2011 09:27

I've moved the 3 lurkers who I haven't seen for a while from the lurking part of the list to the MIA bit - but ladies if you're out there do shout :)

Also Hairy and Banana you're on the bottom of the list too in the thinking of section and I am not sure if you would prefer to be taken out of there and added to the lurkers now you have rejoined us - please do amend if you want to or not if you don't. Either way, I'm just delighted that you're back and hope it won't be too long before the others join us too :)

Daisy am loving the positions Grin Grin I've done both of this today already!! Definitely not too tight, I'd do the same. I was actually thinking about buying a couple of metres of muslin and making squares. I can't believe a small square of fabric is so expensive!!

Wonder if Urban chose a name yet?

Dachs if you're out there I'm thinking of you and sending you biiiig hugs

Good work on the list Owl though I had to steady myself when I saw I was fourth Shock Grin

Well, it's the start of the weekend for me, so my plans are start the damn knitting I've been putting off as it's scary, and waddle into town to buy a baby name book as we're struggling with girls

harassedandherbug · 21/07/2011 10:15

I was feeling all stressed out, and then read lollys birth story.... Grin Huge congratulations!!

Daisy I'm doing pregnancy yoga and loving it! My backache was just starting to niggle on the days I'm glued to my desk, but now it's non existent. Plus it's sooo relaxing, and learning how to breathe and go inwards is enormously beneficial during labour ( this is dc4!). And no that's not tight at all!! Pillowcases make fab moses basket/ pram sheets too, and very handy as you just turn it over if one side gets dirty Grin.

orange ooh I love knitting! Just not had the time/energy/confidence to do any baby knitting.

collie sorry you're not getting anywhere with the stomache pains. Could it be just stretching?? One of the girls at yoga class was in agony last night, that's a boy too strangely!

Having an incredibly stressful time, in a nutshell: dd's joint 5th party on Sunday with my friend who's having a cs on 28th. Bloody disco entertainers didn't show up!!!!! Sunday was a family christening. Monday I was feeling rubbish so phoned in sick, and got lots of attitude off my boss (again!) and car broke down. Tues took car to garage, diagnostic check showed prob with fuel something or other which apparently was a Vauxhall recall. Took car to main dealer who have taken 2 days to repeat the diagnostic test, charge us £50 and then tell us that particular part is not covered under the recall and will cost nearly £500! So today we've picked it up from dealer and taken back to our mechanic who will do it cheaper and quicker. Had to hire a car yesterday though....... Had mw yesterday, all good but have a doppler avoiding wriggler on board Grin. Bp up again so back at 25 weeks rather than 28. That's when they start testing for pe rather than considering preg related hypertension. Had exactly this with dd and it all settled down, so not unduly worried. I think I'm allowed a little raised bp at the moment!!!!

Awesome news lolly Grin - a pretty amazing experience it seems and yay for Rebecca/Isabella/Minilolly being a natural sucker.

Wonderful to hear about team blue lara and that all is well with anomaly scan - thrilled for you! What did DH say?

I'm in Sanderstead, South London at the mo pink - heading back to Doobs on Saturday and will be sure to whizz some sun over for you Smile - loving being back amongst friends though and feeling a bit blue over going back and not being among people who know me really well and help me through the tough bits..... Enjoy your meet up with mamap

Can't quite remember who was asking about movements - I was more certain of mine after 20 weeks and now they seem regular-ish at 22 weeks although a friend of mine didn't get anything until 23 weeks.....

Must dash - parents are always harking to get on the computer!

harassedandherbug · 21/07/2011 10:44

Lol @ your parents wombat, mine are exactly the same!

Something I forgot to ask was, has everyone's Rubella antibodies come back as ok? My bloods came back showing as no Rubella antibodies. Mw said just to avoid anyone with German Measles as I can't have the vaccination until at least 6 weeks after baby is born Hmm.

Any experience/ideas??

cep · 21/07/2011 16:16

afternoon everyone.

collie sorry mw wasn't helpful.

harassed sorry you've been a bit stressed lately, unfortunately i can't remember what my rubella thing is but noone mentioned a problem.

nickstermum · 21/07/2011 16:20

Owl am here in spirit, shits self at list though... How are you doing?
Im doing ok, few twinges here and there but nothing significant. Darn sarf til tomorrow then its serious nesting time for baby stuff as have done precisely NOWT! Have had to deal with a load of crap from work, plus co-ordinate house viewings up north whilst down here, god love the parents for helping!!
Finally i feel like i have started to relax, good times down south with good friends and their kiddies, loads of DS time which has been wonderful... feel like i have been a proper mum to him recently rather than being a stressed out mess!! Its been lovley :)

How are you Owl?
Orange - fourth on the list... gah i remember your bfp
Pinkster - love the bump hows it going - rubbing and stroking it yet>!?>!?>!!> lol. Hope you have a great time with MP on sunday x

Scary times are looming and i am crapping myself....havent opted for the doula route after all... she was lovely but we decided not to.

Hope everyone else is fab,.. great to see so many bfps and progressing beans... cant believe they seem to go so quickly now....!!

Dachs extra special big wave to you lovely, hope you had a woinderful holiday and you have come back refreshed.. catch up really soonx

DeterminedToGetDiffedDachs · 21/07/2011 16:38

Thanks orange :) Am lurking sporadically, but the further on you guys get, the harder it is. Am thrilled for all of you, just :( that there's no prospect of me joining you. Feeling a bit left behind!

Velvetcu · 21/07/2011 19:33

congrats Lolly that's lovely news, hope you are enjoying lots of cuddles

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 21/07/2011 20:35

harassed in my first pregnancy I had no rubella immunity and had the jab as I left hospital with baby - two days after birth. Maybe things must have changed to 6 weeks now, I don't know, as this time obviously I have immunity now.

dachs Hope you had a lovely holiday. It must be hard for you Sad Thinking of you xx

nix glad you are having alovely time darn sarf and enjoying DS time :)

Everyone else, hope you are all ok :)

Had a bit of an Argh! moment today when asked how long I had left and I realised it's only 10weeks. I remember how fast the first 10 weeks went so the final ones are going to fly by.

Also have discovered (TMI sorry) a vulval varicose vein. Blush Sad Blush Anyone had any experience? I've started a thread of my own about it as I really panicked when I saw it (in the mirror obviously Grin )

Back for more blood tests tomorrow for FBC and folicate things to check my deficiencies, might pop in on the MW while I'm there and ask her opinion on it.

Oh the glamour.

katherine2008 · 21/07/2011 21:01

Hi Everyone, have kind of being keeping an eye on the freak out room, but now I've reached 24 weeks, it seems kind of sensible to join you all here and lurk a little bit! I hope everyone I met on the other board is doing ok and look forward to catching up with you over the weeks to come.

Minnie74 · 21/07/2011 22:02

owl thanks for the info on pregnancy pilates, it sounds like just what I need. I think I might give it a go if I can get on the course.

Had a bit of an emotional blip day today. For some weird reason I thought my bump was smaller today (It's not massive to be fair yet anyway) and also I've lost 2 pounds this week so obviously being me I assumed the worst. Blubbed at work (which I hate doing) but the friend I blubbed on was great and told me to stop weighing myself!

Then it was the leaver's party for my class of 11 year olds and 3 girls had bought me a big box of baby stuff- nappies cotton buds etc. Such a lovely thing to do and obviously I was so grateful that they wanted to be a part of it all and they are great kids.
But then when they went home I blubbed again cos I was so convinced I'd got baby stuff for a non-existent baby! Came home and used the doppler and all is fine (hb 144)

When do you stop thinking the worst, start to think it'll all be ok and relax a bit? I know I'm driving DP mad at the moment! Hmm

CollieandPup · 21/07/2011 22:40

Minnie sorry your having back pain too. I've wondered if my upper back pain could be related to by boobs as they are now considerably bigger (2-3cups) but I've been to bravissimo twice now for a fitting and it's not helped massively.

I've done 1 pilates class recently and did a yoga class tonight. I would normally prefer pilates to yoga, as I prefer the focus on balance and I find it slightly more tiring. But I have to say, I thought tonights yoga was much better for relieving my back pain. It really just felt like a session of stretches. Are the classes near you specifically for pregnant women. It sounds like owls were...? I've not been able to find any close to home, nearest are in Manchester but during the day so a bit of a pain! But I think these would be better. People doing pregnancy yoga/pilates does it vary much from ordinary?

Sorry you've had a tough day. I agree with your friend, stop weighing yourself, and when you do remember how variable it can be. Your clothes, diet that day/day before etc. I think sometimes just the position of the scales can add/lose a pound. I don't know about anyone else, but I don't think I'll ever stop having moments were I fear the worst, until he's in my arms (and I don't doubt even then I'll find something else to worry about). I've had my own melt-downs over the past week or so. All irrational but there you go. Have you had your 20wk scan? I found I relaxed a lot after that (although my meltdown was post 20wk scan, but my excuse is it was my dd).

harassed sorry I don't know about not been immune to rubella. Odd though that you were immune in previous tests? No way it could be wrong?

coconuts ouch just googled vulval varicose vein and they look painful, are they? No help with them I'm sorry, although DH was showing me some pictures I'd cyclists injuries and lots of them had what looked like that???

nix where up north are you moving too? Is it up north? Your time with ds sounds lovely.

Nothing really to report here. Had a sick day today due to back pain, a week of now sleep and being utterly fed up at work. Feeling totally useless, as I'm not used to not being motivated to go to work and hate that feeling when you suddenly don't know why you bother. Pup has been quiet today, but lots of movement yesterday. In fact who said their bump was quiet on Tuesday's and Thursdays??? This is my first week of making a note, but he was very quiet Tuesday too!!! Smile

Right, bed beckons. Lets hope I can get some sleep! Night all xx

Hello Livin - congrats on your BFP! There's a brilliant thread in the conception forum called "freak-out room for the newly updiffed after MC" where you will find lots of lovely ladies at exactly the same stage as you (many are also at the pre-12-week scan stage). It's an awesome place to get through the joys and stresses of the first trimester until you're more certain of dates etc. Whilst this thread is super-fab (and everyone here is extremely welcoming), you might find that many of the ladies here are quite a bit further along in their pregnancies (one lady aptly referred to this thread as being the whale sanctuary).

Quick hello to all the other ladies... been in a bit of a daydream since finding out we're team blue. Makes it all so real! "Treated ourselves" to some lovely baby grows.

Will come on line later and post a longer, more personal message. Hugs to all!

Daisybell1 · 22/07/2011 17:43

Hello everyone, apols for lack of name-check but am on mobile. Horrible day here - sickness bug overnight resulted in me chucking up water all morning, dr gave me those electrolite sachets which can't keep down either :-( Coke is the only thing keeping me out of hospital atm as that's staying down. Daisybean's been going mental all day too...

Hugs to all, welcome to the newcomers and good scan newsees, time to try some lucozade again, something's making my wee smell horrible :-(

PinkFondantFancy · 22/07/2011 17:55

Just a quickie, daisy get some coconut water if you can-it's packed with potassium etc and easier to keep down than those gross sachets

PinkFondantFancy · 22/07/2011 18:46

Hello everyone! Sorry for not being about v much.

Hope owly and nix are doing ok-it's so exciting seeing you so close to the top of the list!!

daisy sorry you're feeling grim. Fingers crossed it's one of these 24 hour bugs that will leave you alone soon. I am loving your yoga positions too.

orange how's the knitting going? Have you got one of those groups near you where you can learn how to knit while having a chat? Any luck on the girls names front? I'm finding girls names much easier than boys. Fab news on being able to go to your first choice hospital by the way.

collie how are the pains now?

harassed that sounds v stressful! Hope all the car stuff has sorted itself out now. Is it the top or bottom part of your blood pressure? My MW had a really interesting explanation of it, and said that the bottom number indicates your underlying health and condition, and the top one indicates your emotional state. No idea about the rubella stuff, sorry.

wiw hope your journey back to Dubai goes smoothly!

nix sounds like you're having a lovely time on maternity leave!! Hahaha I have been trying to restrain myself from bump rubbing Grin was forced to do my best smug bump rubbing on the train last night though as I'd managed to bag a seat and an old lady was mouthing off loudly to the woman next to her about how no-one gives up seats for the elderly anymore-I agree someone should have but I think I deserved my seat!!!

coconuts I daren't look down there TBH, am in blissful denial!! What did your MW say?

Welcome katherine!

minnie sorry no idea when people stop mentalling-I haven't yet.....

collie I find pregnancy yoga really different to my normal yoga class-it seems to involve much more sitting around doing not a lot!!

Hi livin you're very welcome to stay here or the freak out room or both. Whatever suits you best! Congratulations on the BFP!

Lara congratulations on team blue! V exciting!!

Sorry if I've missed anyone, am shattered!!!

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 22/07/2011 20:01

daisy sorry to hear you've been ill. After suffering HG, I know all about dehydration. Honestly, it doesn't matter about food. Fluids are the most important thing and it doesn't matter if it is coke, lucozade or anything as long as something goes in. Lollies and ice cubes also help get fluids through without having to swallow too much at once. Hopefully you'll begin to improve in a couple of days.

pink I wish I'd never looked, now I can't stop Blush She said it is completely normal and it will possibly get even bigger between now and full term. But it shouldn't pose any problems for labour and should disappear after birth. Phew.

collie MW said they are just from extra pressure in pelvic area so possibly cyclists do get them quite frequently. Apparently they are just the same as getting piles so she definitely put my mind at ease. Hope your back is feeling better :)

Had my extra bloods done this morning, and DD went to my mums for the afternoon so had the afternoon to myself to relax. Instead I cleaned the oven! And washed the floors. And cooked dinner. And washed up twice. No rest for the wicked hey.

Velvetcu · 22/07/2011 21:45

Helloooo all

Quick post from me -coconuts I had my Brazilian waxing done today and I think I have discovered a varicose vein down there too!

PinkFondantFancy · 22/07/2011 22:20

coconuts why didn't you have an afternoon nap??! You are like a machine, v impressed!!

velvet you are hardcore, no way am I brave enough to get a Brazillian-a standard bikini wax is all I can deal with. Is it true that waxes hurt more when you're diffed??

LivinInTheMoment · 22/07/2011 23:32

Thanks for the welcome ladies! I'll pop over and check out the freak out thread now :)

Have a lovely Friday evening everyone

UrbanLolly · 23/07/2011 00:03

Hello everyone just a quick update to thank you all for your warm wishes......
We finally decided on Isabella, ds making final decision!! GrinGrin
She is currently curled up on my shoulder having fallen off my boob smacking her lips and smiling...too amazing for words.

Can't wait to hear some more good news from the top of the list....the final countdown is unbearable at times swinging from high's to low's...just be kind to yourself and try your best to stay positive.....listen to none of the crap people like to tell you.

dachs a special thank you for thinking of us, i can't begin to imaging how heart breaking it is for you and your dh, you continue to be in my thoughts & prayers...I have every faith you will get here...xoxoxo
