Morning Ladies...

Yeyyy for WIW's positive scan news. I remember you're staying firmly team yellow...

Very impressed with all the knitting, Ladies. I don't have the skill or the patience.

Collie - how's the genii? You haven't complained about mentioned bad sleep so can I assume it's doing its job?

Quite Envy re the commencement of maternity leave Owl and Nix. Mentally I'm already on maternity leave with 3.5 months (and counting) to go. Oops.

Bricking myself about my belated 20 week scan (in one week and five bloody days time). Convinced I'll be the 1 in 100 with bad news. Worried that the lack of kicks is because there are no kicks etc etc. The mentalling continues. Then to totally contradict that I couldn't resist buying a baby gro last night. Returns policy is 2 weeks which means that if scan is bad, I can take it back!

WIW - great the "pie-tum" (you didn't have a pie-tum BTW) is turning into a bump. Mine too is also growing - there's no doubt I'm pg now (I know that also totally contradicts with my panic above but my fears will remain irrational).

Pink - I can't recommend the swimming enough. It's shorter than most other exercise classes (only 30 mins!) and I don't get hot and bothered. I am seriously body conscious and no one can see me under the water plus I go at the crack of dawn so I "get it out of the way" and can enjoy the day or come home and sleep.

One last gruesome note to end on - sorry for TMI. Since Dubai I am, erm, terribly itchy. I assume it's thrush... I have been using Canestan and it gets better until I have a "jeans day" and presumeably get, erm, a bit warm down there (sorry, this is gross) and the itching starts again. Anyone else had this? .

On that note, will swiftly depart....

owlbooty · 08/07/2011 09:32

YRMOTB ! Special extra large stapler for you my lovely, tis very very nice to see you joining us :) :)

Lara From what I've read it's horribly common when prg - which kind of makes sense given that your immune system is all over the shop and your innards are doing all sorts of weird stuff. And do not fret about the kicking!! Some people don't feel anything til 24 weeks. Then my god, you do feel it and before you know it there will be little feet stuck up under your ribcage and all sorts of cute but uncomfortable goings on :)

Owlet has pretty much run out of room now, so instead of kicking he stretches out, headbutts my cervix (ow), shoves his arse into the tiny remains of my stomach (reflux; boak) and pushes his feet into the side of my ribcage (really not meant to stretch like that), all at once. I forgive him once I've finished swearing and leaning on things because obviously I am far happier than he is doing this than not doing anything but it's getting me some funny looks in public. Grin

I really need to get a swimming costume that fits. I should be swimming too. The idea of floating about is so lovely.

LaraandLittleBean · 08/07/2011 09:38

Owl - you need to sign Owlet up for baby-gymnastics... You clearly have a future champion in there!!!

Daisybell1 · 08/07/2011 10:18

Morning lovely people. Am 'working' from home today Grin, or should that be knitting?

Owl those gymnastics sound lovely! Daisybean seemed to spend last night scraping fingernails down my insides - makes me shudder!

Lara I didn't get movements until late, and even then only very rarely up to last week, to be honest. So please don't panic, I'm sure the scan will be fine! I think I also had a touch of thrush after being in Crete - I suspect its the sitting down on the plane for so long - I'm sure the Dr will be able to prescribe something to help?

Pink stealth knitting is going ok - have nearly finished little jacket - if anyone wants an easy pattern I could try to scan it? Its knitted sideways if that makes sense, in just 'knit' stitch, and there are no seams or making up to do. I've got the back of the ballet cardigan done too, but I postponed that to try and crochet something for my friend's baby. Have realised that I can't crochet! So will unpick it yet again and knit it into a jumper... Grin at Pink's rushing through a project to get on with something colour co-ordinating!!!

Hope Nix has a lovely holiday with her diamond encrusted ball Grin

Ladybird Take it easy! I know its not easy, but Owl will be stapling you down if you're not good....

Woo hoo for WIW's scan - yay!

Izzy Mini-Izzy clearly has excellent musical taste - am currently force-feeding Daisybean recorded episodes of Glee in an attempt to get her to embrace the full musical cheese Confused. The counselling was just an initial explanation of how it would work, but it appears logical and sensible so that's reassuring. And she 'gets' pre-natal depression which is marvellous. And yes I have spent at least one yoga session trying not to fart Blush

YRMOTB - hurrah!!!!!

Wombat so glad to have made your day yesterday...

LaraandLittleBean · 08/07/2011 10:33

Speaking of musical taste (am hard at work this AM as you can see...), went to dinner with some old colleagues on Weds. There were two of us pg ladies there. One of the other girls asked if either of us are playing classical music to our bumps every day. I nearly spat out my pasta (I fully appreciate classical music, have full respect for anyone playing it to their beans but it's just not really me). The other pg colleague said quite seriously "yes, I do every day - it's all I listen to now". My poor little bean - R&B gets played in my car!!!! Am I going to give birth to an uncultured (but very rhythmical) gangster-baby?!?!?!?

Daisy - thanks for kicking reassurance... Really appreciated reading that.

Euch - totally put off pg yoga now if I'll be in a room of farting pg women (there's only enough space for one farter at the mo - moi!)

Daisybell1 · 08/07/2011 11:14

Lara I'd heard about the classical music thing, but figured Glee was more balanced Grin

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 08/07/2011 11:38

Hi everyone,

Am back from my GTT. It was a bit grim having to drink lucozade so quickly but good news is I only have to wait until Tuesday for the results.

Antenatal check was ok although I am measuring 3 weeks bigger than I actually am. Should I be concerned about that? MW didn't make anything of it and I felt too tired and sick to ask any questions. Everything else like urine, BP, FHB were all ok :)

Going out for a chinese for lunch as a treat for my starvation, if it stops raining!!

UrbanLolly · 08/07/2011 11:40

Sneaks in with a tray of freshly made chocolate brownies our first ever attemptGrinGrin......boy O boy they are chocolately.......there's a pot of real coffee and some decaf also......!

Needed some of the strong stuff to shift me off the sofa
Have a lovely day everyone xx

Last day nix owl ?!?!!?!!

Wombat33 · 08/07/2011 13:31

Lara my lovely maternity jeans have sadly been relegated to the wardrobe. It's maxi dresses and loose fitting trous only here Blush

LaraandLittleBean · 08/07/2011 13:47

Wombat - glad to hear you've been in the same boat (I assume). Wearing jeans today and in a foul mood because I'm itching like hell and have a splitting headache...

Wish I was at home where I could lie on the bed, legs akimbo, one cold flannel on forehead and another cold flannel inbetween my, erm legs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

owlbooty · 08/07/2011 15:38
owlbooty · 08/07/2011 15:39

Also, Owlet has been listening to me singing all manner of rubbish along to the radio. Classical music has not featured. Sometimes he kicks along which is funny. I suspect he's horrified at my singing and asking me to stop Grin

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 08/07/2011 15:49

owl thanks :) I'm sure it is very inaccurate considering when i lay on my back my bump competely disappears so if I'm big laying down you can imagine how big I am standing up.

Maybe I need to eat a bit better, I dunno. It's worrying me a bit too much I think. Petrified of baby being too big. Petrified of needing EMCS or any help whatsoever. Scared of the shoulder thingumyjig, scared I've got this diabetes thing. All my fears seemed to have switched completely within the last day.

Velvetcu · 08/07/2011 17:34

sorry for a mememe post and run but 2 questions - 1) today miniv had moved right up under my ribs and i kept getting faint because i couldnt breathe properly and 2) i had a really bad hot flush, are these both normal?

ta lovely ladies Grin

Daisybell1 · 08/07/2011 18:45

Not sure about the hot flush Velvet but I can't walk upstairs whilst talking without getting out of breath. It can be a sign of anaemia I think - how are your iron levels?

PinkFondantFancy · 08/07/2011 21:15

Haha my pregnancy yoga isn't strenuous enough to make people fart but normal yoga definitely is Grin

coconuts glad test went well, hope your Chinese was good.

velvet not hot flushes but I definitely feel warmer than everyone else. Not had the lungs thing-mini pink is head down but i don't feel kicks anywhere near ribs or lungs.

Silly question- how do you inflate your balls?do I need a bicycle pump and that needle adapter thingy you use to inflate footballs? My midwife has lent me a ball but I haven't checked how to inflate it....

nickstermum · 08/07/2011 21:20

Velvet i struggle getting up the stairs.... and iron levels are fine...!!

PinkFondantFancy · 08/07/2011 21:28

Oh meant to say Lara you poor thing. Slop some natural yogurt on at nighttime and switch to cotton pants and skirts/loose trousers if you can. You're ok to use canesten cream on it too-your dr can prescribe it. Hope it clears up quickly, it's really miserable having thrush

PinkFondantFancy · 08/07/2011 21:29

nix how did your last day go?

cep · 09/07/2011 08:27

morning ladies, hope you're all ok.

nix hope last day went well.

lara hope itching stops soon.

OrangeGloss · 09/07/2011 08:35

Pink how?s the ball going? I hope work?s going a bit better, I think people give a bit of leeway for pg hormones
Ladybird how are you feeling today? I?m sorry you?re having this trouble. When I had my bleed early on, I do remember the MW saying that bleeding/cramps do not have to be an indicator of anything sinister. I know it doesn?t make it any easier to deal with though. My MW has struggled to find HB a few times, so it would be easy to miss at home. I hope you are resting and looking after yourself x
Daisy good to hear the counselling is going well, and the knitting too ? stealth and otherwise! That?s so kind of you knitting for a friend too
Cep did you have a good birthday? I know what you mean about buying, it?s easy for me to say buy it anyway, but it isn?t worth it if it?ll create tension. I read advice to replace any mattress, we didn?t have one to start with so had to buy new regardless
Wombat I hope your ball helps miniwombat, was it your MW that said that? It was only at a drs app last week that raised the issue, but maybe they?re thinking there?s time. Congrats on completing!! Grin
Collie I still find it hard to match what I?m told/have seen happening is actually happening to me
Owl I?m so Envy of your mat leave! miniO seems to rotate from sideways to front to back, there?s time yet for owlet to settle once he?s finished with the gymnastics Wink
YRMOTB tis lovely to see you here Grin
WIW great news about your scan and the flutters :)
Nix Envy of you too! Good work of babynix nearly being engaged
Lara I wish I could click my fingers and magic your scan so you don?t have to wait, I hope time goes quickly. The jinx pixies are banned, so you can buy away
Coconuts how was the Chinese? I hope Tuesday comes around fast for you. The MW had trouble one week as it was so lopsided and skewed my overall average. You just listed pretty much everything I?m scared of too, I don?t think it means you an irrational crazy lady just a pg lady with natural concerns :)

Talking of music, miniO doesn?t get much apart from PlanetRock FM in the morning and my ukulele in the evening ? so who knows what that?ll be doing for it!
I have 6 weeks of work left, but 10 days of leave to take and about 5 days worth of courses so in effect about 3 weeks of actual work! I?m not sure my manager has really realised this yet and I?m trying not to panic about all the work I have left to do.
MiniO seems to be doing more wiggle-type movements than kicking now which I?m taking to mean there?s less room left, quite entertaining in a tickly sort of way. We?re going shopping today, am very excited and a little scared :)

OrangeGloss · 09/07/2011 08:35

oh, and I'm liking the [hsmile] [hgrin]

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 09/07/2011 09:29

Hi all proper catch up time while I have a minute...

Firstly - Why are there halloween smileys already? It's July Confused

pink Yes for my old one we just used the bike pump with a pin on although it took bloody ages and was definitely a job for DH. And Chinese was gooood!!

nix Hope the last day went well and you can enjoy some relaxing times now :)

velvet breathless and dizzy is how I feel all the time. Apparently a symptom af anemia. And I am generally alot warmer than I was before so I don't think that bit is an issue.

orange Those three weeks you have will fly by. :)

Music wise, mine just hears the bloody Peppa pig theme tune, the toy story songs and DDs nursery rhyme stuff. nothing classical or remotely cultural by a long shot!!

cep · 09/07/2011 13:04

coconuts harry potter.

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 09/07/2011 13:08
