Hi Ladybird - I'm on twins thread too! They're very welcoming but obviously most of their chat centres on DCDA, MCDA, TTTS and preparing for twins coming! I find using both threads is good. Good luck with the next scan.

I typed a lovely long message on my way to see Take That on Monday and then lost it all Angry so I'll keep thus brief but rest assured I had thought of every single one of you!

nix and owl I can't believe how far along you are, that's fantastic Grin nix try to let work stresses wash over you now, it won't be your problem anymore in a day or two. I think a doula sounds a good idea, I went to first pg yoga class yesterday, the teacher is also a doula and was talking a bit about that and it does sound pretty good.

collie yay for team blue!!! Grin Grin. I have my 20 wk scan next weds but think we're staying team yellow (although I'm sure if dh wasn't going to be there I would crack and ask - he's adamant he doesn't want to know)

ladybird sorry you're having a difficult time, lots of people do have some bleeding with no problems so please take it easy and try not to worry too much (easier said than done!)

OrangeGloss · 07/07/2011 06:38

Coconuts did your MW predict a boy and was right then? Ours thinks it's a girl
Ladybird sorry you're going through this, I haven't had bleeding as you described but did earlier on and can sympathise how terrifying it is. Hopefully you will get some reassurance from these ladies who have gone through similar, but take it easy and be kind to yourself. There's a beanbag for you whenever you want/need it :)
Blackkat good news on the wriggling :) and glad to hear your enjoying Spain
Owl not long to go now, good you have a closer space. I'm sure when you're off it'll seem a bit more real
Collie that's amazing news, and team blue! Has it made you think differently about names? Or is it too early for that?
Nix will your MW tell you mininix's position? [innocent emoticon] Is that long to wait? Mine's easier as it hasn't really moved position the whole time
Izzy I'm finding team yellow tough, but it makes for good speculation talk

My bouncy-ball arrived and it's fabulous Grin so comfy after sitting on a horrible chair for a course all day. From Birthease and £21 Inc p&p I'm not on commission honest. I did the foetal positioning, erm, position and I could feel minio move. But I sat normally and felt it wiggle right back to it's usual diagonal position. Might work, if not I've realised that if I do need a cs it'll be for minio's health and therefore the right method. Dh did some more talking to it last night and was rewarded with major wiggling and an impressed wife :)

PinkFondantFancy · 07/07/2011 06:47

ladybird sorry you're having such a stressful time. Pull up a beanbag and come and join us whenever you're ready.

tunnocks glad you had a good MW appointment!

collie v. exciting about team blue! Glad the scan went well.

izzy did you have a good time at Take That?

blackkat hope you're having a good time in Spain. I was supposed to be there this week but I bottled it - I heard it's 39 degrees where I was going to go and definitely wasn't up for that with no air conditioning!!!

coconuts captain calamari looks fab!

orange maybe I'll crack my ball out then - minipink is allegedly head down (that's not how it feels from the wiggling though.....) but think it would be comfier to sit on a ball rather than slobbing on the sofa when I get in from work.

Urghghg talking of work, worst day ever yesterday Sad got shouted at by boss (I wasn't the only one but not that that makes any difference) and instead of sucking it up like a normal human being I instead had a big sobbing meltdown in the middle of the office for about an hour. TOTALLY embarrassing. Blush Blush Does anyone else have this complete lack of emotional control these days?? It is ridiculous.

cep · 07/07/2011 07:35

are the bounce balls good for getting baby into position then??

pink sorry you had a bad day yesterday, and yes my emotions are all over the place.

I'm not too bad at the moment, seem to have gotten addicted to ice lollies they do seem to make baby move so had 2 yesterday. Am feeling baby move again but very light again, so i reckon mw was right last week about the uterus getting bigger about now, so baby further away from the walls. Work going well at the moment am enjoying it more now that i'm not on the phones any more. Birthday tomorrow so i'm hoping we'll go to chiquito's never been before and am rather curious as to what it's like. Dh is still being an arse about some things, doesn't want to discuss names till nearer the time, which is annoying as we just don't agree on boys names, as i've said before won't let me buy a pushchair, and doesn't want me to buy a pramsuit until nearer the time, so i didn't get to buy one of those gorgeous ones at half price from mama's and papa's. oh well day off tomorrow but still no lie in as have to get ds to nursery. Hope everyone has a good day today.

OrangeGloss · 07/07/2011 08:14

Pink it felt like heaven :) especially on my back coccyx. I had to have a day off on Monday as I couldn't stop blubbing after thinking I was making my baby fat, took me about 4 hours Blush have been fine until now but it's just suddenly hit me

Cep I don't know if it's coincidence but miniO definitely shifted at least for a while, and have felt new pressure in the middle this morning Happy birthday for tomorrow Grin Chiquitos is fab and not very helpfully does amazing marguaritas. You're better behaved than me, I would've bought it anyway. You're growing the baby, you get at the very least an equal say!

OrangeGloss · 07/07/2011 08:15

*hormones suddenly hit me

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 07/07/2011 08:50

orange No she was wrong. DD came out a DD not a DS Grin I have had no predictions this time round. I might pretend I don't know at my apt tomorrow just to test them and see what they say! I bet they think I'm having a girl this time when apparently it's a boy!

ladybird33 · 07/07/2011 09:03

Morning all, sorry I'm still hanging around. Spoke too soon yesterday about the bleeding stopping... it started up again last night, along with cramps, and still going this morning (cramps going all the way down my legs). Sorry to dump on you guys, the EPU did tell me to expect more bleeding but it just feels so wrong... I'm wondering how long this will go on for... 12 week scan a week today so hopefully can control the mentalling until then!

Tunnocks sorry, our posts crossed last night, thanks so much for the reassurance, I am feeling especially edgy today. I was hoping that one day of bleeding would be it but is obviously going to be on and off for a while. Grrr. Am so pleased that you had a good mw appointment.

Tiggersreturn was lovely to see you on both threads! Am going to try to keep bleeding stresses to mc boards so as not to freak out others!

Thanks to everyone else for kind thoughts -
Izzy am v jealous of you going to see Take That - was it amazing?!
orange glad you are loving your bouncy ball - it is great for watching tv in the evening!
pink sorry about shouting boss and sobbing incident - those crazy pregnancy hormones can be very irritating sometimes :)

Daisybell1 · 07/07/2011 10:53

Collie many congrats on the team blue - fantastic news Grin

Very Envy of Blackkat's holiday

Pink and Orange hugs re the work traumas - I am also an emotional wreck but haven't disintegrated at work so far....

Cep I really want a chicquitos now! Lurvely and they do mocktails!!!

Izzy also very Envy of you seeing Take That. Were they fab????

Ladybird sorry you're having a stressful time - I don;'t know if it helps but m BF bled throughout her pregnancy and was hospitalised several times. But LO was perfectly fine and is now nearly 2!!!! It was stressful for her, but they just put her on bedrest every time it happened.

Update from Chez Daisy Counselling was fab yesterday - she does CBT, and is a former neo-natal nurse so has done a lot of parental counselling/working with midwives etc, much more professional and understanding than the previous one. Then pregnancy yoga was ok last night, but 1/2hr was spent in a talk on hypnobirthing which was basically a plug for the local practitioner. And then this morning: the return of morning sickness!!!! Lovely (with the added bonus now of straining to throw up, only to have a little wee at the same time Blush Sad)

Wombat33 · 07/07/2011 11:28

Grin Daisy I am full of sympathy for you but your description above is hilarious and totally sums up pregancy for me - oh so glamorous!! Wink Hope you are coping through the latest trials and tribulations? Your counsellor sounds fab.

Izzy also Envy at the Take That concert!! Did the music make miniIzzy dance?

Ladybird so sorry you are still having stresses. Huge hugs. I really hope it all settles down for you. If you feel you can't hold out another week, can you afford a private scan? The FMC in london are fantastic if you are a near here.

Cep wow- you are being very restrained on the purchasing! I'd admire you for respecting your DH's wishes. We had a bit of a role reversal on your situation - I know my DH found it very difficult when he got to the stage when he wanted to start planning and enjoying the prospect of a little one, while I was still too apprehensive to even tell people if I didn't have to.

Pink, Nix, anyone else having work traumas. Huge hugs. Not long to go now!!!

Orange interesting to hear the ball seemed to do something. Mine is due to be delivered by amazon any day now so I'll keep everything crossed. MiniWombat has 5.5 wks to turn of her own accord before we have an appointment with the consultant to discuss csections Confused

Waves to Lara, Collie, coconuts, Tigger, blackkat, owl, urban, freezing, tunnocks and anyone else around today.

In other news: we exchanged contracts on our house yesterday!!! Completion in 11 days' time (planning to move in in 2 weeks' time to get some bits of work done in between)!!! Grin Grin Grin Stay put for a while yet please MiniWombat!

Wombat33 · 07/07/2011 11:42

CollieandPup · 07/07/2011 12:01

Just popping in quickly! Thanks everyone for lovely well wishes yesterday! It's still only sinking for me! It hit me last night (at 4am) that this really was happening. I think I've gotten this far just thinking about and focusing on the fact that I am pregnant- this was a big enough step forward in my eyes! But haven't really been thinking about what's at the end of the pg journey. For example, I'm always x many weeks, and when I look at fetal gowth I'm very amazed by it but never seem to make the connection between that and what's going on in my tummy! Also when I tell people i'm pregnant, that's what I say, as opposed to friends who say they are having a baby. And I even noticed yesterday I was team blue.... Not having a boy! That's right! I'm having a BOY!!! OMG it's so scary! This reality is strangely just dawning on me.

Ok, sorry about that massive me me me off load! I'm clearly a lunatic!

I actually wanted to pop on to give lady a big ((hug)) sorry the bleeding has started. I know nothing I say will make you worry any less, and I know I'd be feeling just the same. But as you said, the nurses did say it could continue. I think bed rest is a good idea. Are you able to be off work? And please don't apologies for posting your worries. It's what we are here for. Everyone on here is pg post mc, so has already done their own fair share of freaking out. Don't feel like you can't post. Xx

will have a proper catch up later, on phone at work, so can't do a good name check! Xx

LaraandLittleBean · 07/07/2011 12:11

Hi ladies

Just a quick one to amend my dates slightly as they're a bit out...

So glad it's sinking in Collie - well deserved! I hope the planning will start now with full abandon!

Well done on house exchange Wombat (the next bestest feeling after a good scan).

Hang on in there Lady - try and keep calm and remember the nurse's words.

Anyone heard from MummyA? Worried and hope she's okay.

Went for another6am swim this AM and felt great... until sheer exhaustion kicked in at erm, 10.30am. Thought "sod it", left the lap top downstairs and went up for an hour's snooze. Anyone else at this stage (allegedly the high energy phase) get hit with insane exhaustion? I had dinner with friends last night (first time in weeks), came in at 9.30 and fell asleep on the sofa in five mins.

Finally fretting slightly cos I can only feel tiny flutters that might just be wind. It's normal not to feel the kicks of your first baba until later, right?

Anyways - big wave to all and here are the updates dates:

Well....

I have just ordered my travel system!!

Precious Little Ones has an offer on. I got £450 worth of buggy for £299 inc. free car seat!! It was too good to miss!!

I got the Cosatto Cabi 3in1 system. I can't wait for it to come!!

cep · 07/07/2011 16:00

orange i do keep wanting to just go and get things, just don' really want to do it in a subterfuge (sp?) kind of way

wombat it's just easier not to fight, i do need to have a chat to him though cause having a baby in Nov is not the same as having a baby in May.

A lot of stuff is the same though isn't it?? i mean you still use vests and baby grows, surely i just need more cardigans, am i right? my mind is drawing a blank.

What are people doing about mattresses, the one on the cotbed is still perfectly fine, i know they say you should replace mattresses but i really don't think we need to.

owlbooty · 07/07/2011 16:09

Afternoon lovelies :)

I write this from the luxury of my sofa, where I am putting up my hoooge fat feet as maternity leave starts NOW Grin

To anyone who is considering working past 36 weeks I would strongly suggest you reconsider; this last week has been completely knackering.

Collie Hoorah for team blue! Double hoorah for good scan! V.pleased all is well :)

Coco that sounds like a bargain and that's a nice buggy, I remember looking at it.

Wombat thank goodness for that - hope you're all in and settled and sorted before WombatBean decides to turn up :)

Ladybird Some wise words from the ladies in here so nothing much I can add except that I hope the bleeding does stop properly very soon x

Pink Absolutely - I wail at the drop of a hat. Even certain chord changes in songs set me off. I am not safe to be out in public. Mr Boots finds it hilarious because whilst I am wailing I am usually also trying to explain that there is actually nothing wrong at all :)

daisy hoorah for the good counselling session - I've found CBT very helpful in the past.

Orange I have that exact same ball and it is fab. It is far more comfy than a chair and seems relatively robust. No idea if it's helped with positioning as Owlet seems to turn from side to side daily - I might start leaning over it though as I want him to end up back to front and NOT back to back. At the moment he's sideways so it could go either way.

Lara flutterings were pretty much all I got til fairly late on - the definite booting only started some distance post-20 week scan, I am sure of that. Plenty of time yet!

:)

Ouf; epic catch up. I need to lie down now. Oh wait. I already am Grin Hoorah for maternity leave!!

Woo-hoo!!! Welcome to yrmotb - about time, lovely!! owl - get the stapler out! Grin Grin

owl v Envy of you being on maternity leave, you lucky thing!! Hope you manage to put your feet up and enjoy it Grin

coconuts well done on buying the travel system - I really must start looking around. So far I have one babygro and some reusable nappies, which isn't very impressive. Also, although we have a potential nursery, it is at present only accessible via a ladder in the playroom ceiling so I really need to get that sorted out at some point! Smile

pink I think over-emotional goes with the territory! So far this week I have cried or nearly cried at: 1. Take That Blush 2. Dd and class singing happy birthday at party of child I don't even know (?) 3. Sports day (WTF?!)

daisy your counsellor sounds fab, how are you feeling about things now?

All those asking about Take That: they were absolutely fab! Just amazing. And yes, miniIzz did get up and boogie, obviously a TT fan in the making Grin

I went to my first pg yoga class last night; really enjoyed it. Just a qu for others that go though: do you find it makes you fart? Blush

On that note Grin

What a lot of chat to catch up on! Glad everyone's doing ok (although ladybird I am sorry for all the stressing you're going through - fingers tightly crossed all will be ok)

Congrats on team blue collie!

Have been super busy and generally stressed with huge presentation at work followed by moving house yesterday and today. The good thing was that it completely stopped me stressing about today's 20 week scan and all is tickety boo! Have also had definite flutterings this week which has been hugely reassuring so can honestly say that I'm relaxing into this pg at last and even my bump is looking more bump-like and less whoateallthepies-like Grin

Will do a better catch-up tomorrow. Desperate for my bed after all this moving lark. We were in a one storey villa before with no stairs and we've moved to two storeys and my calves are killing me!

Thanks again to everyone for your lovely supportive comments - it really does make things better knowing that others have been through it. Cramps have been so bad today I am finding it hard to ignore them. DS had his nursery summer play this avo which was so adorable, but I stupidly went for long walk after which had me doubled over in pain and had to leave DH and DS and get a taxi straight home. So frustrating and scary... Tried to find the heartbeats again with my doppler but couldn't - wasn't really surprised but would be nice to have that reassurance.

Daisy - sorry about the return of the morning sickness, I hope it disappears soon...

Wombat - Brilliant that your scan went well! Am so pleased for you and big congrats also on moving house! Good planning to do it early so you are nicely settled in and can "nest" to your heart's content before MiniWombat arrives. I have got a scan booked at the FMC but it's in a week and a half... I'm just going to have to get a grip!

Collie thanks for your lovely post. :) I think bed rest would be ideal to be honest as lying down makes a big difference, but have DS (who is 3) to look after, so I have to just grab opportunities to get horizontal when they arise! So glad that it's happily sinking in for you that you are actually going to get a real little baby boy at the end of this!!

Lara am totally impressed with the swimming, it's annoying about the falling asleep later bit! Don't worry about the lack of kicks - for a start, as it's your first your stomach muscles are probably rock hard and kick-resistant but anyway I would put money on you feeling the first big kick and then realising that everything you have been feeling up til now was the baby all along...

Coconuts congrats on ordering the travel system!

Cep you are right about needing a nice warm winter pramsuit and other outdoor wintery things like hats, mittens, thick blankets etc. Inside I would agree with more cardigans and woollens in general... Your DH will understand in the end I'm sure!! Personally I would not replace the cot mattress - I'm not planning to and don't know a single person who has for a new child (unless I'm missing something major here)...Hope you have a lovely birthday tomorrow!

Owlbooty am thrilled for you that you have started you maternity leave now! Enjoy!!

Wow, another mega-post (too many lovely people on this thread)!!

7quid from t k max and is perfect lol... Ds certainly thinks so anyway Grin

Waves xx

nickstermum · 07/07/2011 21:34

that is supposed to say 7 quid... 87 quid where did that come from?!

PinkFondantFancy · 07/07/2011 22:11

Grin at nicksters gold plated ball!

wiw fab news on the good scan!

daisy how's the stealth knitting going?? The blanket I'm crocheting won't go with the pram so I'm trying to finish it so that I can crack on with one in wool that will go! Having to go to work is getting in the way of my crocheting tho!

Lara am seriously impressed with your swimming. I need to start I think-looking in bed tonight I seem to have lost any ankles and my feet and hands are HUGE!! I've had to take my engagement ring off and wondering the wedding ring will have to be next :( really don't want to take it off but also don't want to cut it off either!

owly congratulations on maternity leave and nix hope your last day is uneventful tomorrow.

ladybird I hope the next week and a bit go quickly for you and that you get a lovely reassuring scan.

Gotta go to sleep now but will catch up properly tomorrow. Thanks for all your reassurance about the crying-I didn't cry today yay! Grin
