Hello ladies thought it was time I delurked for a bit of a catch up.....!!
Loving all the chit chat re names and to purchases or not!! Been through it all myself......everything I've bought still has the price tag on and all receipts are in a separate envelop. In fact still haven't told parents my due date!! All they know is that's it's some time in July!!
I have decided on Rebecca Jean as our name dh isn't so keen, Rebecca is from my side & Jean is dh mums name...he does not get a choice since baby automatically gets his surname....no boys in my family so it's the end of our family name..,

pink we have a stokke best money we spent I love it....in fact I'm convinced it helped to make ds the social little boy he is, being so high they are always involved in whats going on. What colour? I've cleaned mine all up and got some new textiles from eBay it's the older bright green version but would love a new one!!!!

Lovely to see lots of new names....and fantastic to see hairy freezing Fingers crossed for you guys xxx
Congrats to apples & concret (sorry totally spelt wrong!) on phone no option to scroll back...

YEAH!!! For maternity I started on the 23rd just over 37 weeks..... It's so amazing to be off GrinGrinGrin I appreciate it so much more 2nd time round...ds is off school and we've been having a lovely time doing very little just so nice not to be in a RUSH iuswim.....! He keeps on telling everyone I'm off for a hundred weeks....we spent the morning holding hands and snuggling on the sofa......think we are in for a bit of a shock soon!!!!
nic 3 days to go yippie....hope the doula turns out to be a good fit x

Jeeze wish I could remember more of what I've just read to name check proper.....

Anyway diddly squat happening here not even a branston worth mentioning...ho hum just a bit sore in the fanjo region. due on the 12th but have an appointment on 11th think doc will have a look and a fiddle... Dh words.....!Blush to see if he can get things moving yuck!! Not looking forward to that...... Praying my piles don't pop out when my legs are in the air will totally die!!!!! Otherwise I'm booked in for induction on the 19th.

Much love to you all It's so much busier now all you chatter boxes have been stapled or glued by owl love it...

O I'm an Anti-d girl too there seems to be alot of us!!! Just got 1 injection this time at 28 weeks in the arm.

PinkFondantFancy · 05/07/2011 21:50

Hey urban lovely to hear from you! My stokke is Ferrari red- DH's choice! I was keen for the dark purple but if he's keen for red I'm more than happy. They also chucked in the sand coloured summer kit Grin. It's really good to hear you liked yours, I'm v excited about it! Fingers crossed something exciting happens before 11th-your DH has a lovely way with words!!

collie don't beat yourself up about 20 week scan mentalling-I can completely sympathise, I was doing some hardcore mentalling with nightmares and everything for weeks before mine. Fingers crossed all will be well. Any gut feeling on flavour?

coconuts they sound like fab purchases! Chinese after fasting sounds like a fab idea!

wombat yep have got phone number for sellers so have been having text conversations which is v helpful. Good luck for exchange tomorrow!! V exciting! Sorry about the measurement issues, sounds a bit like there's been some dodgy measuring going on.

nix sorry about the aching, have you got one of those bump support band thingies? Good work on the doula, I think it's a fab idea. Like you say, will give you loads of reassurance while DH is travelling up and also means that DH could have a little break during your labour if he's tired without leaving you by yourself. Sorry work is minging-I've got similar issues although sadly 3 and a bit weeks to go over here :( I'm thinking of writing down how I feel in a diary or something so I can remind myself of what it's really like when I'm making decisions next year.

Minipink kicked the midwife in the head today while she was listening in with the pinnard Grin DH and I were so proud! Grin

nickstermum · 05/07/2011 21:52

wow not long to go now... hope your fiddle gets you the results you need :))

cep · 06/07/2011 07:34

collie good luck for today hon. i know what you mean i keep getting nervous before scans. And i still get worried when i get days with not much movement like yesterday. can't wait till it's big enough to feel everything it does.

nix sorry you're in pain, hopefully when you're off you can put your feet up as much as possible.

I've still got about 14 weeks of work left, Sad i have got a countdown calendar on my computer at work though but it doesn't take off weekends. so it isn't technically correct for working days left.

lolly hopefully baby will come before fiddle. fx for you.

OrangeGloss · 06/07/2011 07:47

Pink the Stokke looks fab, red is nice and classic. It's a good plan to move hospitals if you are at all unsure. I hope the anti-d is going ok, I don't know anything about it so glad you have other more knowledgeable ladies to discuss with. Excellent work on the MW kicking Grin
Coconuts I'm so Envy your shopping sounds so exciting. I want a Captain Calamari too! I've had 2 offers of stuff today so am not saying no to anything at the moment
Daisy I think you're right, I'm trying my best to ignore em all
Tunnocks oh what an awful dream :( I've had one recently that I was sat waiting in hospital knowing something was wrong but didn't know what I think it's just my subconscious coming through. Groin pains could be needing the loo or muscle/ligament pain? Has been both for me. I felt jealous of my NCT ladies being pregnant which is totally irrational as I am too, but they just seemed so optimistic, more than I'll manage now
Wombat I hope today goes well. It sounds like muscles stretching making way for your LO growing. The old tape measure trick doesn't seem to be that scientific tbh, it's probably just their technique
Freezing congrats Grin a good milestone to have passed
Nix sorry you're having pains :( the doula seems like an excellent idea, especially with dh away. I'd like one but there aren't many around here. Not long now until you can leave your boss and work behind :)
Collie my sisters helpful advice to the comments was 'don't let it get to you' Wish I'd thought of that Wink I've got a delivery at the post office, which I'm wondering is my ball, will find out tonight :) I may have to go and google bumps. I hope today isn't too nerve-wracking, it seems perfectly normal to mental pre-scan. And you get to find out the flavour!
Urban that's a lovey name and good reasoning for why you get to choose. Very Envy of you finishing work and sounds like you're having a lovely time with dc too

I had a blood test at 28 weeks for gestational diabetes and also iron, it seemed a routine thing here that I was told about at booking app, got results in 2 days
I've been counting down, and after leave and courses I have 23 days (I think) which doesn't take the 3 days flexi-time I've built up too :)

Daisybell1 · 06/07/2011 08:31

Morning Smile

Good luck with the exchanging Wombat FX for you. FX for you too Pink bashing solicitors/estate agents heads together!!! And sympathies for the measuring worry Wombat - as has been said, a tape measure across your stomach isn't exactly the most precise way of doing things!

Hugs to Tunnocks I think we've all had the jealousy of other people's bumps/pregnancy

Nix bloody work!!! Still, only 3 days to go Smile I think a doula is a fab idea to give you the extra peace of mind - well worth it!

Masses of good luck to Collie for your scan later.

This diabetes test thingy - my MW wants to do it on me, but not until 34 weeks.... Isn't this too late (from what some of you have been saying)??

Oh, and why am I the only one to have had the anti-D in the bum Angry! Humph.

CollieandPup · 06/07/2011 08:43

Morning everyone!

Thanks for all the good wishes and for not haddocking me! Dh came downstairs with the Doppler last night and before I could protest he'd whipped it out, splattered gel over my tum and had found pups hb pounding away! I don't think pup must like the Doppler as it was instantly on the move and continued to wriggle for about 30mins after which was lovely! cep I know what you mean, just wish i could feel it more of the time!

Scan at 1pm so at least only half a day of pre-scan mentalling to get through. Working from home, but doubt much will get done! pink my gut from a very early stage has been team pink and a few old wives tales indicate that too-mil has done the ring test twice and my mum had a go too as she was unconviced and all 3 times indicates girl. Also v fast hb which is said to be girl. We are so convinced it's a girl we've unconciously started to call it she!!!! So no doubt it will be team blue, just to prove us all wrong!!! Grin I don't care though. Secretly I'd love a little girl, but Id also love for dh to have a boy so it's a win win. Although we have 2 boxes of pink clothed of SIL which might not suit a boy!! Smile

pink Grin at minipink kicking mw in the head!!! I bet it saw it's opportunity to get it's own back for all the previous weeks of being poked and prodded!

Cep I check my diary at work on an almost daily basis to double check how far november is off!! Grin I've strategically booked a couple of weeks off to break up the next few months so the longest I'm in work for now, without time off is 4 weeks!! Oh and I have 61 working days left!! Grin

urban what a lovely name! And well done getting the final say! In the middle of labour my friends dh told her she could have any name she wanted as she was doing so well! Im Holding out for that! Grin

wombat are you exchanging today? Good luck! And how annoying that mw is concerned enough to scan for growth bcs of just 1cm! I think my belly size varies more than that in the day depending on when and what I've eaten! But surely another scan to see bean is a bonus?

lara are you still lurking on here??? Get yourself over from the FO room!!!

Daisybell1 · 06/07/2011 08:51
OrangeGloss · 06/07/2011 09:23

Collie bless your dh for the Doppler ambush Grin !! good you ot some movement too. Mine seems to like dh's stroking, might be the different firmness. He tried talking to it but felt silly, I told him to just say usual work things as it'll just be the voice not the subject. Not long now until the scan
Daisy I'm not sure about the test, maybe it's standard for your area?

CollieandPup · 06/07/2011 09:26

daisy my mw predicted a girl at my 16wk apt too after listening to hb!!!!!! I was really surprised she'd openly make a judgement! Well, hopefully we'll know in 4 hours!

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 06/07/2011 10:15

collie good luck for your scan today :) My MW predicted DD would be a boy by the hb, just to throw some confusion into the mix!! I mentalled badly before my scan, at one point I thought I was going to have a panic attack! I also insisted on a go wih the doppler before my appointment just in case!

wombat Good luck with the house move, I've never moved house so have no idea what it involves but I expect it is very stressful. I also wouldn't have thought the belly measuring is very accurate. Although, saying that I'm quite looking forward to getting mine done just to see if I'm on target or not.

lara Envy at your midnight fasting. I seem to get really hungry about 9pm so going to be pretty difficult to ignore my mad cravings! Strange how it is so different from place to place.

nix sorry about the achy bump, it's miserable isn't it. Good luck with the doula, I'd quite like one but not many in my area and I think OTOH I'd like it to just be me and DH this time :)

pink haha at the headkicking baby! Grin

orange the captain calamari is quite a big bigger in RL than it looks online so I was quite surprised at that but it is a really cool looking toy :)

Nothing to report here bar lots and lots of movement higher up, really feels like he is growing in there. Got some stabby little kicks down below last night when cooking dinner so hope he doesn't find that position again in a hurry.

Waves to anyone I've missed :)

ladybird33 · 06/07/2011 10:32

Hi everyone, sorry to barge in on this thread - I'm only 11+2 but I had quite a lot of bleeding yesterday and was looking for a bit of advice/reassurance.... Collie kindly recommended that I ask around on this thread from those who had been through it (Tunnocks - I hear you've been particularly unlucky with bleeding? So horrible for you.) I went for a scan yesterday and they said I have a sub-chorionic haematoma which is where the blood is coming from, but the beans were fine, and to expect more bleeding. I know that should have been enough to reassure me but I had a really busy day yesterday with more bleeding and lots of painful cramps which really stressed me out. I think my question to you guys is - did anyone else have cramps with any bleeding around this time? The bleeding seems to have stopped for the moment but the cramps have carried on - they're not agony but are really uncomfortable. I've been having cramps for most of my pregnancy so far but not as bad as this and these are just really worrying me (I think mainly because they accompany the bleeding). Sorry for the really long ranting post... any advice very gratefully received....!

LaraandLittleBean · 06/07/2011 10:37

Morning Ladies... Am here Collie - no need for superglue!

Good luck with your scan this morning Collie... It was one of the first things I thought about this morning. Hope you jump on line as soon as you possibly can afterwards!

Nix - I too am considering a doula. Keep me fully posted. Sounds like a perfect fit for your situation. I am probably going with a doula because I don't have full confidence in my hospital - they are way too stretched.

Here all is good this morning. I woke up bright and early so went for a 6am swim. Was lush. Of course now my body thinks it's about 2pm. Pool is only a five min walk from the house so it's a super convenient form of exercise.

Quite Envy about the movements... I feel the occasional flutter but it's not significant enough for me to be convinced that it's definitely kicking. Would like to think it is though. Wish I had a doppler....

Daisy - you're not alone - I'm going to get a bum attack with the anti-D as well.

My DD is 25th Nov and I am seriously lacking in motivation - it still feels so far away but my productivity at work has seriously declined!

Loving the buggy talk - now thinking I will investigate a Stoke (we're planning on getting a Bee).

Off to do the ring test.................

Blackkat · 06/07/2011 11:07

Wishing good luck to Collie for today, ((hugs))

Fantastic news on the scan Hairy so pleased for you

Pink I just laughed out loud in a hotel foyer at minipink´s antics with the midwife.

Lara well done on joining the gym, great stuff, and I loved the 55+ aerobics.

Wombat fab news on the exchange, hope all is going well

Ladybird hope you are ok?

I´m in Spain this week (very last minute to stop mentalling about being away) so I´ve just done a very quick scan of all your news.
Needless to say most of suitcase was taken up by the genii which is the best thing I´ve bought so far.(Smile emoticon, can´t work out how to get square brackets on a Spanish keyboard!)
Bean has been wriggling like hell and DH felt too, and now looks like a Cheshire Cat, I know it´s a little early, but after his (am convinced) performance at the mw at 16 weeks she told me it wouldn´t be long before I was getting "my insides kicked about"

to everyone and will catch up properly when I´m home.

owlbooty · 06/07/2011 11:15

Good luck today Collie :)

Ladybird hello lovely - I didn't have any bleeding at that stage but I had some belting cramps around the 11-12 week mark. It's horrible and frightening having a bleed at any point and there's a load of people in here who have had them so it's far more common than the books make out. LoopyMumsy had a haematoma too - she's delivered now but might be worth trying to track her down in the post-grads thread? I hope it's nothing and the haematoma goes away. Do come in here for a quick mental any time you like, we will save you a beanbag x And if you're feeling grotty and crampy and rubbish PUT YOUR FEET UP - it's far too easy to try and carry on as normal and right now is the time you should be being waited on and taking it easy :)

Nix I feel like a whale. If I went to the pool I swear to god someone would try and harpoon me. I've got two days left to work and they've given me a disabled parking space - the relief at not having to walk in is massive. Big sympathy for your inability to walk about comfortably :( The MW delivered the home birth kit to the house last night. Which is nice, but I still can't actually believe I might be holding a baby in a month's time. It seems far too unreal still. I hope the doula is lovely - sounds like a fab idea with DH being so far away, at least you know you'll have someone you can ring immediately.

Lolly - whoop! Almost there :) Hope the rummage goes well and you're delivered very soon, also hope the piles don't embarrass you Grin Ah,. pregnancy, the sheer glamour of it.

Freezing stapler coming your way my dear, welcome and make yourself at home :)

ladybird33 · 06/07/2011 14:00

Owlbooty thanks so much for the reassurance and advice. The books always say things like "you may experience mild stretching pains" which is a massive understatement in my case!! I feel so lazy just sitting around so early on in the pregnancy but am trying to ignore my to do list for the moment! I hope your last 2 days at work fly by! :)

Blackkat hope you have a fab time in Spain. Lovely news about the wriggling bean!

CollieandPup · 06/07/2011 14:12

Just quick post whilst in waiting room for mw. Scan went well. All seems fine, so huge relief! Was lovely to see it's big heart beating abd it jiggling around again!!!!

And, we're team...............blue!!!!!! Would you believe it!!!! So thrilled, can't wipe the grin off my face! Is this really going to happen?! I'm starting to think so...!

Wombat33 · 06/07/2011 14:26

collie fab news on the scan!! And congrats on team blue Grin

ladybird I have bleeding on and off all first tri (and at 18 weeks). I've also had lots of random pain and so far (touch) wood, all has been okay. I'm 30 weeks now. Hopefully it will be the same for you. I second the advice to rest as much as you can.

LaraandLittleBean · 06/07/2011 14:59

Brilliant news Collie! How exciting - now you can refer to your little pup as "him and not "it"!!!!!!!!!!

Did you cry? I have been in floods of tears at each scan so far!

I hope you have a fab afternoon celebrating...

Enjoy Spain, Blackkat - miss you!

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 06/07/2011 15:32

Fab news collie welcome to team blue!!

cep · 06/07/2011 15:43

afternoon ladies,

collie yay, congratulations hon.

blackkat have a fab holiday.

nickstermum · 06/07/2011 16:12

Ladybird, i think Loopymumsy had that same problem.... she will be on postgrads now i expect... :)

nickstermum · 06/07/2011 16:17

Sorry Owl just read your post - DD twins and great minds huh?!? Grin
I feel huge too...and hurting. and swollen... still no idea about position of mininix! cant tell one way or t'other. All i know is that i get belted at each hip bone, still swimming around my huge uterus i think. Spoke to doula today, meeting on friday. sounds lovely. see what that brings!

Ladybird, lots of ladies on here have had bleeding, you are in good company. Did i see BEANS plural? Theres also a very good twins thread... if i read that corerctly!!

Thanks wombat and nickster that's all really good to know. No bleeding at all today and pains seem to have eased off a bit (probably thanks to me taking it easier today) but mentalling is never far away! Hopefully I will get to join you on this thread in a few weeks/months.... I have popped in on the twins thread but am too nervous to join full time until after my 12 week scan. I also don't like scaring people who aren't used to mc chat like you lovely ladies! Hope you have nice evenings.... :o
