orange sorry you had a naff day. Ignore them, as sOmeone else said, they wouldn't be calling you stuff if you really were fat.

owl pleased to hear owlet is the right way up!

hairy congratulations, that is fantastic news!

Sorry can't remember anyone else's news. I have had stressful day with house purchase and would love to put the estate agents and solicitors in a room and bash their heads together!!! Angry in good news I have bought a pram and car seat but the shop will hold them till I'm ready which is good!

nickstermum · 04/07/2011 21:35

SORRY.... HAIRY?!?!?!?!?! as in formerly TRIANGle?!?!?!?!? Diffed..... WOW! fab news my lovely xxxxxx Oh that is just wonderful news Grin

hairylights · 04/07/2011 21:45

nickster thanks - yeah it's me. Not just diffed but twelve weeks diffed!

nickstermum · 05/07/2011 06:24

aah pal thats just incredible news.... soooo pleased for you honey x thats just fab fab news!

OrangeGloss · 05/07/2011 06:54

Pink thanks, I'm wasn't so worried about myself, but the way they talked it was like I was creating a fat baby and I felt like a bad mother already, but you're right hopefully they wouldn't say things like that if true. Anyway, what pram did you buy?? :) nice of the shop to hold them for you. Estate agents aren't my friend at the moment either Angry

PinkFondantFancy · 05/07/2011 07:26

CEP how is your cold?

mamap and coconuts those conversations are shocking!! Noone has touched my bump, I think I must go around pre-emptively glaring at people.... Grin

coconuts what did you get from babies R us?

orange the labour ward was good thanks, I think I'm going to move my care to that hospital, the one I'm booked at scares the hell out of me. Yep it's like a bandeau maxi, black at the top and printed colours on the bottom part. I usually have the same bra issue but got a good one from M&S. ooooh and I got a Stokke Xplory Grin Grin

I'm off for anti-D this morning :( it's a bit worrying given no-one can actually explain the benefits of having it during pregnancy and I just get told NICE guidelines say I should... So have read the NICE guidelines and understand their reasoning but noone seems to know how it works. It's supposed to protect me for 6 weeks at a time in case I have a silent bleed. But if that's the case, why, if I have a bleed subsequently do II have to go to hospital for another shot? Makes no sense. Anyway......

orange I hope you're feeling better today. You're definitely not a bad mother. I think it's impossible to be a bad mother if you're worried about whether you're being a bad mother IYSWIM?!

I am officially addicted to French Set yogurts. Mmmmmmmmmm

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 05/07/2011 10:58

Good morning :)

My babies R Us order came at 20:30 last night! Couldn't believe they delivered up until then! So am feeling quite positive today.

pink we got a changing mat, a Captain Calamari Lamaze Grin , some muslins, 2 blankets (buy one get one half price), the Avent feeding set which was half price and a fantastic bargain. I'm planning to try and BF so we may not even need it but it was such a good offer to pass up in case BF doesn't work. And we also got that Johnsons box of toiletries that was half price too. So all in all a good old bargain hunt.

My friend from school came to see me with her baby yesterday and gave me loads of boys clothes and I think DH's friend who donated the original "Bag" is giving him some more today so we'll have loads of stuff by the end of today.

The antiD stuff is so confusing isn't it. I have mine on Friday along with the dreaded GTT. Anyone else have to have that? Is it awful?

owlbooty · 05/07/2011 11:00

Hairy my lovely, it is an absolute delight to see you in here, when I saw your scan news I did a little happy dance at my desk Grin

Pink Do not fret about the Anti-D - tis a very good thing and definitely will do no harm and will protect you and the LO. I suspect possibly they dose preventatively on the grounds that people tend to do daft things like not mention they've had a bleed subsequently (or maybe not even realise they've had a small bleed) - better to get two lots than none at all.

Daisybell1 · 05/07/2011 11:04

Morning ladies

Coconuts wow on the shopping, go girl!!!! And Pink Grin for the pram/car seat - many more details needed though! Poor you on the house though - have things settled down?

Woo hoo for Tunnocks 24 weeks - yay!

Orange maybe this is the mentalling but it just changes from 'will this work out?' to 'will I be a good mum?' - that's certainly where mine is now.

Pink if the hospital scares you, then I think your decision's made, isn't it? However bad I was at the MLU, I hate to think the state I'd be in at the local hospitals...

Owl I am also lining up to hit someone if they tell me I'm massive. Also measuring spot on here.

Pink I had anti-D last week - it was a bit of a nasty one in the bum Shock but live-able with. i'm afraid I didn't question it, but used the 15mins waiting around time to check I'm not allergic to it Hmm for a nice gossip with the CMW. I automatically get another shot at 34 weeks which presumably would cover me until 42 weeks, and then maybe another one if LO turns out to be +ve...

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 05/07/2011 11:21

daisy and pink Is the antiD legislation the same from place to place? As I got told I'd only need one at 28 weeks not one at 34 as you mention, Daisy. And in the bum? Mine go in my arm.

Dreams can be very upsetting, please don't beat yourself up. I have bad ones from time to time (the worst was the one where I dreamt OH sent my pet lamb Midge to market. That morning I made him take me out to the field to check she was ok and he hadn't sent her anywhere Blush)

Around your number of weeks, I also had a premature baby dream about him being left in a unit alone. Maybe its to do with viability playing on our minds around 24 weeks....

I also get groin pains - every time I stand up at the moment. I also get cramps which I 'think' are LO booting my insides ie towards my back (if that makes sense). Could it be this? Our insides must still be stretching constantly, particularly if the mini-mes are spinning round and round changing positions all the time.

PinkFondantFancy · 05/07/2011 11:58

tunnocks sorry you had a horrible dream :( I had groin pains quite a lot, turns out it was my bowels, could that be it for you too? Is v scary, can definitely sympathise.

Thanks for all the anti-D support, was fine, had a chat to the MW about it and the reasoning so feel a bit more reassured. coconuts some areas give a big dose at 28 weeks then nothing until birth, and other areas split it into a dose at 28 and 34 weeks. Was in my arm, she said it's because it's important it goes Ito muscle and people have differing amonnts of fat covering tier muscle on their bum Grin

Proper catch up later xx

Wombat33 · 05/07/2011 12:17

Quick hell oas having a manic day!

Hairy whoop! congratulations - that's fab news!!! Grin

Pink same here with estate agents. In the end we and the people we are buying from have cut ours out of the loop and are talking directly to each other - makes it so much easier. Is that an option?

We're meant to be exchanging tomorrow - eeek - fx that nothing goes wrong between now and then!!

Big hugs to everyone feeling down today. I also get lots of pains and cramps and all sorts of weird sensations. Very unnerving, but as DH keeps having to remind me, I've had all sorts all through this pg and so far none have turned out to be sinister so hopefully the current crop of discomforts are fine too.

Sorry for no name check xxx

PinkFondantFancy · 05/07/2011 13:03

coconuts what's GTT?

tunnocks it's not silly, you can't help the way you feel. Plus I can completely identify with the jealous feelings - they make no sense but that doesn't stop you feeling them!

Freezingmyarseoff · 05/07/2011 13:36

So made up for Hairy I must delurk to do a little dance Grin

LaraandLittleBean · 05/07/2011 14:54

Is it standard practise to get a letter inviting you for a GTT? I received mine yesterday and panicked that it's cos they know something I don't... Reading the leaflet, I am at higher risk due to South East Asian genes and also PCOS. Now of course I am scared each time I eat anything sugary......!

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 05/07/2011 15:06

pink Yes it a glucose test for Gestational Diabetes, has to be done between 26 and 28weeks.

lara I didn't get a letter inviting me, I was told I'd need one at my 12weeks booking in appointment and then had to book it myself nearer the time, for the same day as my 28 week bloods.

I am in the higher risk category as I too have PCOS. I am eating as normal, as I'm sure I don't have GD.

Not looking forward to it though as I have to be at the hospital for 08:30, having fasted from 7pm the previous evening, have all the bloods done, have my 28weeks bloods done, drink the lucozade stuff, sit still for an hour, see the MW for antenatal appointment, see the next MW for my antiD appiontment, wait another hour and go back for my final GTT bloods so will be in hospital, starving, for three hours. Then I have to get a bus back into my town, still starving, to meet DH who is taking me for a chinese :) :) He has had to take a day off work to have DD while I go as I can't look after her on my own in hosp for three hours she'll go mad with boredom. And I don't get the results for two weeks!

Wombat33 · 05/07/2011 16:51

Humph. MW just measured me 1cm smaller than her colleague did two weeks ago Hmm More likely than not an issue with their measuring than with MiniWombat's growth (she's certainly not likely to be shrinking!) but not terribly reassuring all the same. She's going to plot my growth chart and let me know whether she's going to send me for a growth scan. Joy. More scans.

Velvetcu · 05/07/2011 17:18

woohoooo hairy i'm soooo pleased for you Grin Grin

congrats on 24 weeks tunnocks I made it there today too! Sorry you had a bad dream, they really do set the tone for the day.

wombat 1 cm makes no difference really does it? it's probably just where miniwombat is sitting today

LaraandLittleBean · 05/07/2011 17:24

Coconuts - my letter said I can fast from midnight. My appt (mid Aug) will be at 08.05. Great idea to have a Chinese though... ! I also have to have anti-D further down the line.... You are my "annoying and traumatic pg process endurance" twin....

Woo hoo for the 24 weekers... Got 4.5 weeks to kill before I'm there....

cep · 05/07/2011 18:30

evening ladies.

tunnocks sorry bout the bad dream, i get them every now and then.

pink thankfully not developed into a full blown out cold, just having problems with my throat and phlegm (sorry) and my voice going.

I will be having a gtt test but don't know when, the consultant didn't say anything about having to fast for it though.

nickstermum · 05/07/2011 18:52

My bump is aching so much, down below. :( hurting to walk, hurting to sit, cannot get comfy.

Have made contact with a doula, through another lovely doula lady on here.... :) going to meet with her and see how i feel... I think it will be good for me! even for a hospital birth. At least i know i willl have someone on call even when DH is 4 hours away :)

other than that, fat, grumpy and although i only have 3 days left of work - i am still getting a load of shit that i could really do without. My boss mentioned wind down this morning, i could have punched her. Worked 4 hours last night and will do so again tonight, cheeky bitch! feel like binning it off now and never going back - oh well never mind!

CollieandPup · 05/07/2011 20:10

coconuts and mamap Shock at the comments you have had!!!! How very rude!!!! I am impressed you refrained from punching them or commenting on the size of their arse!!! Grin I'm sick enough as it is with people asking me if I'm sure there is only one in there! Including my own mother who last time I saw her exclaimed 'OMG look at the size your bump it's huge. Are you sure there is just the one in there!' BUGGER OFF!!

coconuts well done on the purchases! What a lovely little on-line shopping spree!

orange I agree with all the other ladies, the weight gain is normal and your not making your baby fat. I'm sure your baby will be a healthy size and remember that under weight babies carry big risks so having tiny bumps doesn't come without a whole other set of worry! has your ball arrived?

I think obsessing worry over bump size is natural though. I go through stages of thinking 'omg I'm huge, the size of this bump is not normal' to then flipping and worrying it's too small!!! Lol I have actually been known to google images pregnant bumps/bellies at Xweeks to compare Blush

tunnocks yay for reaching 24weeks!!! What a milestone! Sorry your feeling fragile today. It's funny how other people's pg and births are still upsetting. But hopefully it won't be long until we've got little bundle of joys in our arms and we'll no longer care!

I've posted on the FO room but yay again for good scans!

pink hope the house sale progress improves! Bloody estate agents drive me mad! And yay for pram purchase!! BIG step!

nix sorry you are so uncomfortable. I'm rubbish, I've no idea what to suggest! Confused Angry at boss for you making work so hard! But only 3 more days! Yay!

The metalling has set in here! 20wk scan tomorrow! [20+3] Not really felt any movement for last 36hrs so that's put the fear in me! I've had a can of sprite to try to induce movement with no success Sad too scared to Doppler incase can't find anything!!! Aghhhhhhhhhhh Just want to be happy and look forward to it. We plan on knowing the flavour so lots to look forward too, so why can't I just be happy???? And if one more friend just tells me to relax and try to enjoy the pregnancy I may well throttle someone!!!
