Loving your brian moments coconuts - they're corkers!

And yes dachs - I may lurk menacingly with fish with owl too with your hijacking thoughts - it's always so nice to hear from you and we are cheering you every step of the way x

On the names chat, what are people's thoughts on Jeremy? We love Jem and Jerry as abbreviations but wonder if it's a bit old fashioned? We have pretty much decided on Jemma (not Jemima - sounds too much like vagina to me Grin ) if it's a girl or Charlotte or Lucy. I'm liking Seth though - is it short for anything?

On the buggy chat, we had a fairly major shop around on Friday and got it down to M&P solar or the iCandy peach for ease of putting up and down mostly. Anyone have any experience of these? Didn't like the Quinny as much to be honest collie - seemed quite a faff but I think that may have been the sales assistant not quite knowing what he was doing Smile. fwiw, I think if you are planning on 2 or more, then new is the way to go, not 2nd hand.

wombatinwaiting · 26/06/2011 10:44

x-post dachs - sharp intake of breath at the boldness of nicking owl's stapler Shock Grin

owlbooty · 26/06/2011 11:57

It's alright, I've always got the superglue as back up Grin

cep · 26/06/2011 20:36

Evening ladies i hope everyone has enjoyed the lovely hot weather.

DeterminedToGetDiffedDachs · 26/06/2011 21:14

I can confirm that the weather will now be lovely for at least 2 weeks - it will be lovely until 10th July and then it will turn miserable again. I know these things (it's always lovely while I'm out of the country on holiday and then gets miserable right after I get back, so make the most of the next two weeks :) )

Am currently drinking strawberry margaritas - haven't had margarita for about two years as had first pg last summer and was then doing IVF. It's yummy! Grin

nickstermum · 26/06/2011 21:48

And there was me thinking that was tongue in cheek sarcasm owl Pmsl :)

Too hot....., need a bigger fan!

Daisybell1 · 27/06/2011 08:14

Grin Grin at Daisy's prams and Dachs antics with Owl's stapler. I'm not sure a women with low alcohol tolerance on strawberry margartias is safe to be let loose with a stapler! Grin

Have an amazing time on the Orient Express and in Venice Dachs it sounds like a brilliant trip!

Nix I'm with you on the heat. I'm melting! Thank god for air conditioned offices, though the train and tube this morning were pretty vile. Might be really rash this eve and get a taxi back across london to avoid the evening rush hour tube...

Loving the name chat - we're totally stuck. We have a few written down but don't seem to be getting any closer to making a decision. I think there's a certain lack of a sense of urgency because we still don't really believe there's going to be a little person to name...

House moving might be going in the right diirection finally. Fingers crossed for some investigation works happening this week. Have signed the contract and transferred the deposit to the solicitor so I'm hoping that won't tempt fate!

Hope your move chaos is resolving itiself Pink? What's happened?

Waves too everyone - hope you're all surviving this lovely bloody hot weather!

cep · 27/06/2011 12:58

daisy i'm not allowed to buy another pushchair. I have one that's in good condition but i found it dificult to steer, and has a tiny basket. then we bought a second hand one which is now falling apart but dh is determined to fix it, at the moment the foot strap is kept together by silver gaffer tape. I'm not even allowed to buy a cheap one off e-bay.

OrangeGloss · 27/06/2011 13:07

Sorry for lack of catchup but I had to share this

Miniorange had been quieter than usual so I mentioned it when I booked my NHS classes, and they said come in. They were happy with heart beat, movement etc, but turns out I've been having Branstons and not knowing it! One was a level 9. I thought it was just miniorange getting comfy Blush

owlbooty · 27/06/2011 13:37

Dachs the minute I find out you are IVFing again I will be on hand with a supersized tube of superglue, you have been warned :)

Daisy good lord, 4?? I've bought one. It's an oyster. It's tiny.

orange I've been feeling the branstons since about 20 weeks but when I went in for monitoring it transpires that I, like you, am not feeling the half of what is actually going on in there - there were loads showing up on the trace and loads of movement I couldn't feel either. Weird isn't it? Even the MW seemed fairly surprised that I was feeling so little. Owlet is currently tapdancing on my ribs; I can definitely feel that. Glad all is well with MiniO :)

wombat whoop for contract signing! That sounds like you're almost there; fingers crossed there are no last minute hitches!

Right you lot; time for a raindance. I'm too bloody hot and it's making me feel pukey. Someone pass me a strawberry margarita please for refreshment whilst raindancing

DeterminedToGetDiffedDachs · 27/06/2011 13:46

owl I was hoping it would be about 21st July but AF is lasting way longer than usual so am now worried about having a ridiculous cycle so now I have no idea and am getting :( about that fact that I may not be able to fit it in before i go back to work. Hence the strawberry margaritas to cheer me up Grin

Daisybell1 · 27/06/2011 14:19
Blush

Although can I just say in my defense that I've only spent £50 in total...having acquired

Urban detour off Freecycle - for use on the farm
Chicco Pram/Pushchair for my parents to have
Umbrella stroller thingy
Herqules Raptor 3 Spin which I got yesterday off Ebay for 'best' - and oh god its gorgeous! Its everything I could ever want in a pram - the instructions even refer to it as a 'vehicle' Grin and its got adjustable air suspension AND disc brakes. It can't get any better for me!!!! Oh, yes it does, its got a carrycot, seat can be parent or forward facing, and its bright red! Am in love Blush

Loving the names talk here too - you lot have got really good taste!

Tunnocks I;m thinking of doing the sling thing too. Esp as OH has said he can then take madam out with him on the quad bike to give me a break

Wombat and co down south - my utmost respect to you coping in this heat. I'm melting up here, so god knows how you lot are coping! Dachs any chance of a mojito???

What do branstons feel like? If I walk too quickly then bump goes all hard and tense - is that it?

really hope your cycle settles down so you can start your IVF

Owl can you tailor your raindance so that it doesn't rain up here? OH is wanting to silage and he needs several dry days. He's starting to pace, and has three weather forecasts constantly on repeat....Angry

nickstermum · 27/06/2011 20:24

Orange am sure i have had some branstons also.. feels like bump getting comfy, but bump goes rock solid hard...!! Good for the hb/monitoring etc... hes probably having a rest in the heat.

Rain dance worked - up here anyway

Dilemma... door open = FLIES but cooler.... Door closed NO FLIES but too stuffy...What to do?!?!

OrangeGloss · 27/06/2011 22:03

Dachs the dresses sound amazing, especially the red slinky one :) I shall have to join in and give you a light tap with this tin or sardines. Lovely lady don't you dare not post and tell us what's happening, we want to hear from you so you're not hijacking
Nix good tip about the loo, I've found leaning forward at the end gets a bit more Blush
Apples we're going for our NHS class next Weds so I'll keep an eye out for little Malachai's birthplace :) thanks for the offer too, I might be asking questions after Weds. Henry is a great middle name, you're right it's such a responsibility
Collie I've replied to your other post about travel systems so won't bore you again by answering here :)
Daisy Shock prams!! Grin I can see your theory there though. Turns out the Branstons I've been putting down to either trapped wind or miniO doing a mammoth move - both sound similar to your description. The MW said movement and BHs can be linked
Wombat congrats hopefully on the house move. The jinx pixies have been banned in all forms here and that applies to houses too
Owl :) at the tap dancing. I can't believe I'd felt them and not known what it was Blush
Nix that's exactly what it feels like to me. It's been busy tonight so put me in a very good mood but nice to have had the checkup too what about one of those dangling chain type things that hang over the door? Might not fit your decor but pretty sure they work
Pink I've noticed that NL have new colour options of the jersey maxi dress Grin sold out of my size but I'm checking again in a few days

CollieandPup · 28/06/2011 05:24

Aghh I just can't sleep! I wake up daily at 4am!!!!!

Nix esmee was suggested by a friend and I loved it. Don't watch twilight so never heard of it before but good to know! Shelby, don't think hooker so much, but tbh I'm not so keen... Sorry.

Wiw Jeremy is a good solid name that I don't think is either fashionable or unfashionable iykwim. Seth - don't think short for anything but it's Hebrew means 'appointed'... very grand!
Not looked at the solar but found candy very heavy. Good reviews though, and do like fact you can add a seat when baby no 2 comes. Not too keen on the look though personally too much crome going on. Bugaboo bee has great reviews abd we're going to gave a look before buying the quinny- decided on new.

dachs hows the bleeding? did you get checked out by the gp? Hope you're all packed and ready for your amazing holiday. strawberry margaritas sound lush, glad you're getting some practice in so your less of a cheap date for your hols Grin

daisy Shock at FOUR prams!!! But well done on the bargain hunting!!! I'm
Not sure my mum will be having her own pushchair!!

wombat yay for contract signing! How exciting. Hope it goes smoothly from here on!

Enjoying your talk about branstons. I've no idea if ive had any or not, but I'm starting to feel pup on a daily basis mow so I'm Smile funny to think though that you have all that going on in there abd can't necessarily feel it! organge how could they tell from your check you'd be having them?

How do you know where your placenta is ladies?

wombatinwaiting · 28/06/2011 06:23

Wow - fancy so many of you having all those braxtons going on and not knowing about it - amazing to think what is happening right inside us. I'm still waiting for these flutterings etc (18+5) today but prepared to wait out a little longer before flapping (plus we have 20 week scan in 9 days time).

Just texted Lara to try and confirm our meet up today! Will be v strange but great fun I'm sure.

I was told where the placenta is at the 12 and 16 week scan collie - can't quite remember if it was anterior or posterior but he said it was wherever it is good to have it.

Nearly fell over at daisy's confession but to be fair 4 for 50 quid is damned impressive -well done!

Tis funny to hear about the heat complaints - I guess we're so well geared up for it here that it's just a general dash from air con car to air con office to air con shop to air con home - If it carries on when I'm back in the UK next month, I'm bound to be the worst complainant!

OrangeGloss · 28/06/2011 06:53

Collie I hope you got back to sleep, I have a 2am slot where I'm just lying there. The machine I was attached to recorded movement of baby and uterus, so there was a small uterus spike I didn't feel and a massive one I did but didn't realise what it was. I think it said on my scan notes where my placenta was but they didn't tell me I just read though it all

WIW not long until your scan, though I found the wait impossible

PinkFondantFancy · 28/06/2011 07:58

Hello all

Sorry this will be a lame attempt at a name check because I have had no sleep at all due to the minging humid weather.....

V bad mood today-first day back at work yesterday, air con in office stuffed so spent the day at 33 degrees. Trains then all messed up coming home due to signal failures and broken down trains so had an hour and a half commute on a train with the heating on. That's right, the heating was on. Mini pink decided to lay low and not do any wriggling which although sensible added to my general distress so cried all the way home :( got in a cold bath when I got home which made the baby have a little wriggle so felt a bit better after that.

It's still soooo hot and humid today though-I'm on the train and melting again. This is grim. 5 more weeks until i finish work so anyone who's enjoying the weather, make the most of it as August and September are now guaranteed to be the coldest and wettest on record..... Grin

wiw that is so nice that you're meeting up with Lara!!

daisy PMSL at your prams, that is fab!

orange have you seen their strapless maxi dress??? It's luuuurvely, wore it yesterday!

collie at your 20 week scan they put on your notes where your placenta is but it's worth asking for more info as mine says anterior but really it's at the top and a little bit at the front.

wombat fab news on contract signing! Mine's ground to a halt due to some issue pulled up on a survey further up the chain so now they're arguing about prices and getting quotes for work etc.

dachs sorry to hear about messed up cycle this month, that sucks :( hope you're working on building up your alcohol tolerance before your holiday!

Sorry about rubbish catch up, going to shut my eyes and try and sleep/try not to puke

Daisybell1 · 28/06/2011 12:25

You ladies down south are heros, you really are!

I'm in great sympathy with Orange and Collie re the night waking - I can't get through the night now without waking at least once, and the night trips to the toilet have started again - what fun!

WIW I like Jeremy! Enjoy your mini-meet!

Keeping FX for Wombat and Pinks house moves!!!!

cep · 28/06/2011 15:54

afternoon ladies.
I was awakened as well last night but by ds who woke up at 2:15 and couldn't get back to sleep. The best bit though was when he found his drum at 3:15 and started playing it.

i had a lovely moment in the bath last night, baby kicked me so hard my tummy bounced, now i know you slimbies have probably had this loads already but as a hunker chunker i wasn't expecting it so soon. it was so nice, i had to spend the next 10 mins not moving so i could watch my tummy move, i got more but not so obvious.

crochetcircle · 29/06/2011 02:23

Just a quick update to let you know that minicrochet arrived safely on Sunday morning after a long, induced labour. 8lb 4oz and a full head of hair. She is adorable!

We stayed in hospital until yesterday, and enjoyed our first day as a family in our home today. Lovely memories. No name yet - too many other things to process and focus on.

I'm guessing I won't be on MN for a while but wanted to thank you all for your support during these 9 months and wish you all the best with your pregnancies.

Special love to apples my due date buddy.

PinkFondantFancy · 29/06/2011 06:41

Fantastic news crochet, congratulations!!
