Hiya,

I live in Derbyshire but travel to stay with MIL every week for a few days, and planning on moving in for a few weeks when baby is born as DP is from there and got friends there. Urmston area, is that near chorlton? There's a baby sale at the grammar school on the 4th :)
x

kri5ty · 15/05/2011 21:39

Ooo at urmston grammar? I may pop along to that! I used to live there and its not too far at all! Part of me says I should wait until my 12 week scan before I buy anything, but I'm too excited!! X

Yes, I'm at Wythenshawe too, I have my first appointment on Thursday.

Baby sounds great, but I'm in London that weekend - typical!!

applecheeks21 · 18/05/2011 14:50

Hiya,

I'm exactly 9 weeks today living in Old Trafford, just out of Chorlton. Its our first and I am excited and VERY nervous.

I've had some symptoms - nausea, headaches, tiredness and have gone of some foods. I feel sick pretty much all the time but never am sick (in some ways I wish I was sick to get it out!)

My doctors have asked me to confirm which hospital I want to give birth in but I can't decide as I am considering a home birth. They didn't like me not making a decision and said that I couldn't be referred on until I had. I argued this with them and eventually she said she would pass on that I am happy to have scans at Wythenshawe but is considering a home birth. I felt like I'd asked for the moon on a stick.

How much advice did you get from your docs? I had NONE. The doctor, receptionist AND practice manager all told me conflicting info - not helpful when it's your first. I have made my own app with the MW for next week. Its sooooo exciting!

It would be good to keep in touch.
:)
PS - sorry fo long post, kind of needed to get all that off my chest.

Hi everyone :)

I'm living in fallowfield! Am 29 weeks so a bit further along than you all! Am having him at St Mary's!

CarolineLou · 19/05/2011 08:14

Hi I'm also from Bury, I'm 26 and 11+1 with my first and very excited! x

bennybenbear · 19/05/2011 12:19

Hi Ladies,

I was living in Sale but just moved Bolton way. I'm 31 and 11+1 with my first as well! Very excited but super nervous as first scan tomorrow so praying everything is ok as not had many symptoms, well no MS anyway (I know I should be glad!) I did have food poisoning at about 7 weeks though!

Haven't dared post before in case I 'tempted fate' but this thread was too good to miss as I've only been living in the area for a year so don't know many people outside of work.

Am currently still under Wythenshawe but thinking of moving to Bolton - any experience?

x

Hello all,

I'm 30 and live in Umrston too (hello Scheherezadea!) I'm 11+6 and giving birth at St Mary's, although all my ante-natal appointments are at Trafford General.

No big problems yet apart from weird upper back problems, so I have an obtetric physio apointmenmt at St Marys next week. Dating scan on Monday too.

applecheeks21 I was asked to decide on hospital at my check in appointment too. I think it's because of the way the ante-natal teams are totally separate between St Marys and Wythenshawe in our area. Even though I have my appointments at Trafford General, I see a specific St Mary's team rather than the Wythenshawe team.

Hello everyone,
This is my first post on these boards, but have been reading for a while getting lots of helpful tips and answers.
I live in Prestwich, currently 24 weeks with my first. Registered with Bolton hospital - as apparently Fairfield maternity unit is closing soon.
Good to hear there are over manchester mums out there!

MrsCLH · 20/05/2011 16:14

Hi ladies, another Manchester Mum To Be here! I'm in Chorlton. 21+3 with my first. I'm at St Mary's - they are wonderful! I'm high risk cos I have type 1 diabetes and the care so far has been absolutely brilliant.

applecheeks21 you sound just like me, felt sick 24/7 until about week 14 and sometimes I did just think it would be better if I was sick but I wasn't sick once. I promise you it does get better - well if your experience is anything like mine then it will - the problem is everyone's pregnancy seems to be different!!

justabigdisco · 20/05/2011 16:20

hi I'm in Ramsbottom and have just booked at Fairfield - it is closing but they have no idea when yet so carrying on as normal. Am pleased as it's so much nearer than any others

kri5ty · 20/05/2011 17:20

Hi everyone,

I had my first midwife appointment yesterday (at Wythenshawe) I'm low risk except that I'm a bit of a fatty and my BMI is way too high. Blush

We were too late to book my scan last night, so she gave me the number to call, which I did this morning. Unfortunately the first available scan is 20th June.....not sure how I'm going to wait until then - I'll be 11 weeks tomorrow by my calculations. Oh well.. Hmm

MrsNJDrury · 20/05/2011 20:59

sorry kri5ty I havent been on here for a few days didnt see your reply I live in Newton Heath in Manchester. This is my 2nd baby I will be going to North Manchester General Hospital, apparently they have a new birthing centre now, they didnt have that last time so looking forward to seeing it. :)

Does anyone now if i can change hospitals?
I had problems early on, and i was under st marys and they were fab... im 11 weeks now and my booking in app is tomorrow however as i am still registered to my docs in sale, i am under wythenshawe as i was told thats the only place they dealt with...

Can i somehow switch to st marys after i 12 week scan?
