I emptied a bin onto my shoes instead of the bin liner yesterday. Which made me cry. Pity any baby coming out of me.

kri5ty · 09/06/2011 18:39

Ade.... I cried at deal or no deal.... and made a brew and put it in the fridge.... cue 10 mins trying to find it again!!

Scan was great, it was kicking and waving away, on the photo it looks like its scratching its bum lol

Still no sign of the MATB1 from Oswald Road, so I got it from my midwife, so worth remembering to ask her at your 26 week appointment. I was a bit worried about getting to Wythenshawe, especially if I go into labour during rush hour, but the midwives there are really nice and they have two birthing pools whereas St. Mary's only has one. My midwife said not to worry as at the end of the day you can turn up at either on the day! Missed the sale as we had friends over, so hope there's another one soon. :)

kri5ty · 10/06/2011 07:48

well my first impression at wythenshawe was pretty bad, waited over 2 hours for our scan as they "forgot" about us... im high risk as i have ME, so no chance of a birthing pool :(
I have registered with a docs in didsbury as i couldnt get in any in chorlton... going to try and make an app for next week, so i may ask about transferring to st marys, and also i need the form for free prescriptions lol although im not sure how it will work as i have app with my consultant at wythenshawe in 2 weeks hmmm

Good to knoe feliz we coul djust turn up to either! Would we woddle in to A&E or to the ward i wonder hehe xx

Is anyone else crying at nothing??

I cant even remember what it was about, but on sunday something caused me to break down in massive sniffle sobs, saying how i couldnt take the stress...to be honest it was prob something like my bf asking me "what do you want for tea"

I know it makes you all hormonal but to be honest i thought it was just a myth lol

Hiya,
Another Manchester (Prestwich) first timer here. I'm 18 weeks this week and booked in to Fairfield too. Anyone in the north of Manchester fancy trying to organise a brew and a meet up?
Bron

kri5ty · 13/06/2011 09:46

Im south man Bron but i always love a good brew! :)

Hey bronp. Would be up for meeting up with other mums to be. I live near you, prestwich/whitefield border. Am 27 weeks at the moment. X

adewonder · 13/06/2011 12:12

Had scan privately on thurs as couldn't take not knowing anymore, all fine, little gremlin of a thing had a heartbeat and the right number of limbs in what looked like right place. Really quick, I sort of thought the ultrasound would have to delve through organs and stuff before finding the baby, but it was straight away.
Booking in appt at st marys was ok, they made the appropriate referrals to a mental health midwife due to my history of being bonkers at times, and I'm going back in 2 weeks for their scan, which will be the nuchal screen and will be in the time frame for that by only 2 days. Apparently they just changed their policy on scanning, last month I would have had scan at same time as appt.
I am crying a lot. I make myself cry by thinking about baby related anxiety, or other people are nice to me and then I cry at that. People know after this weekend, oh was proudly masculine with his mates at drunken barbecue who were all pretty much congratulating him for strong manly sperm. I fell asleep as per usual, then watched tv on my own, one of them came in to see if I was ok and even stroked me on the head. Weird.
One of the reasons I'm off work is due to crying, I don't think I Stopped last week, apart from when eating.I was told that 10 to 14 weeks is most known for weepiness and irrationality. I'm irrational most of the time anyway, so perhaps I will have swings of extreme logic and be like Spock from star trek.

Scheherezadea · 13/06/2011 12:24

My emotions are all over the place. I've found the main catalyst to be our dog - I either cry because he's just.so.cute. because he's being naughty, or the other day it was the thought of his previous home and how he must have felt being dumped and abandoned and then stuck in a horrible cold dogs home (he is a rescue).

I went to the baby sale! It was great, got loads of cheap sleepsuits.

kri5ty · 13/06/2011 12:37

ade that most put a smile on my face as it sounds just like me :)
Im off to my new docs tomorrow to ask if i can be transferred to st marys, although i have an appointment with the nurse rather than a doc... i hope they can do it

Congrats on the little gremlin :) where did you go for your scan? And if you ever fancy a brew let me know as we are very near to each other x

BronP · 14/06/2011 12:32

Hi collieandpup, I looked for NCT classes in the north too and couldn't find much of anything NCT past Didsbury! So... when thinking about alternatives, I rememebred a conversation about hypnobirthing I'd had with an old friend who used it for both her births. Now got an appointment with someone to talk about a group (much cheaper that way) hypnobirthing class later this week. I think there's lots of general preparing for birth and once the baby is born stuff included in them too. I'll let you know how it goes. If you're interested and in the east Mcr area I think they're running a pilot hypobirthing scheme at Tameside General tho...remember seeing something about it on the news.

adewonder · 14/06/2011 14:24

Baby bond in stretford. Fastest £100 ever spent, but still worth it to relieve the anxiety. I told the sonographer how worried I'd been, she said that's what being a parent mainly is, just worrying.
Oh thinks Hypnobirthing will be where he hypnotises me during labour a la Paul McKenna. I have assumed that isn't right. I'll google it.

kri5ty · 14/06/2011 18:21

Are they nice there adewonder? We are thinking of having a 3d scan done there.. I saw kym marsh in work last week, and she recommended them!
Im so glad you can relax a little more now, it was 100 well spent if it put your mind at rest....
Ps I am waving to you, we have had to move back to whalley road for another week and a half as our new place needed decorating ahhh!!!

bilblio · 14/06/2011 21:01

Collie - the local NCT group is Oldham, Rochdale & Tameside. I'm sort of involved with them because they're trying to set up a separate Tameside branch. At the moment most things happen in either Rochdale or Oldham because depending on your postcode in Tameside a lot of people get linked into the Glossop branch.
I did NHS classes last time and I think it will be the same, or nothing this time. I didn't learn much from the the NHS classes... that I hadn't already learnt from MN anyway :o and I can't afford the NCT ones.
Hypnobirthing does sound interesting though. I'm back at Tameside on Monday so I might ask about it.

I had my 20 week scan last week. Baby is good but I'm suffering with a lot of back pain and probably SPD, so I'm back at Tameside on Monday for a physio referral. I've also got a low lying placenta so I'm looking forward to another scan at 35 weeks :) I had the same, but more severe problem with DD and it moved so I'm not worrying too much.

kri5ty · 16/06/2011 09:24

hey girlies... any of you free to meet up on the 9th july at the trafford centre?

OP posts:
kri5ty · 20/06/2011 12:26

Omg i need a rant... wythenshawe hospital seem to be so rubbish! i was left waiting 3 hours before my first scan as they "forgot", today i had my first appoitment with consultant, who was rubbish... kept wuestioning everything i had written in my history, and asking why my doctors hadnt written all of this in the referal letter!!!

Im def trying to change to st marys.. although this is proving harder than i thought!!

OP posts:
kri5ty · 27/06/2011 08:15
