I'm not sure if anyone is still watching this thread, but I thought I'd update to say I had a little boy 12 days ago, 10 days early.

We were at Tameside under midwifery led care, I had a water birth, which was great! Highly recommended! Unfortunately I had a stubborn placenta which had to be manually removed after 1.5 hours by a consultant. I lost a lot of blood so had to stay in for 2 nights and had a transfusion. But again the care was fantastic. The staff on the post-natal ward were busy but always came quickly when I buzzed, checked on me regularly and always took the time to introduce themselves at shift handover.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

Congrats Bilblio!! Glad you had a (mostly) positive experience.

I'm on countdown now, just over 5 weeks to go and its whizzing by!

Hi to all newbies too!

I'm at Wythenshawe too Thumbelina and i've found the great so far, tiny tiny waiting times and everyone has been lovely, only thing is i had an appointment with a consultant at 14 weeks becuase i have gallstones and he tried to listen to the hearbeat for a millisecond and didn't get it so i was in a panick and cursing him all day, i posted on here terrified and was reassured that it can take 10 mins to find even weeks after 14 so i'm ok now! I wouldn't change as me and my bf were both born there so i think it's nice, we were both christened at the same church in Timperley aswell so gonna get baby christened there ;-) I'm at Wythenshawe on Weds fo 17 week bloods for downs screening as little monkey wouldn't let measurements be taken at first scan! Where do you live? x
