is anyone else feeling a little left out by the first-timers due in December thread? This will be my second DC (DS will be 3.5). I think I'm due on 15th December.

Welcome BCC

Dolly have you heard from the hospital about a scan?

Got the results of my blood tests back today and shows healthy pregnancy for my gestation so made me happier today.

Sickness is back and certain smells are setting it off - Not good :(

harassedinherpants · 10/05/2011 16:24

Hello...... can I tentatively join you? I'm so terrified of jinxing myself as I've two mc's already this year. Obviously no probs getting a bfp, just staying that way.

Anway, I'm 40, married to my lovely dh for nearly 2 years and we have a dd who is 5 in July. I also have ds1 who's 21 (nearly 22 - same day as dd incidentally) and ds2 who's 20 plus my dgd who's nearly 2 (ds1's dd), and not forgetting dsd who's 12. So we're quite a crowd!!

I'm 6+6 today and had a scan last week as my symptoms were starting to subside, and we saw a heartbeat!! Am reassured for now..... but hoping for another scan soon as I had a mmc in Jan at 10+1 but baby measured only 7 wks.

I have all day sickness, sore boobs and shattered. All good Grin!!

dollyshouse · 10/05/2011 19:23

Hi darcies managed to get through to hosi today thanks and got scan date of 6th June, 27 days away! what were your blood tests about? god I wish I was coming with you on holiday! GNM hosi said there is a walk in early preg unit at the hospital if I just want to go there but do you not need a reason? ie bleeding etc? don't want to feel like a muppet just saying am worried but apparently they don't offer early scans for reasons such as worried cos last baby MMC at 12 weeks!
welcome babychoochoo I am 7+3 pregnant with baby no 3 and I am 44! similar ages of kids, my DS is 6+5 and my DD is 4+3 and I also had a MMC at 12 week dating scan (baby size 9 wks old) devastating so have everything crossed for this one which also unplanned (like the last one) must keep finding out what is causing it Blush

dollyshouse · 10/05/2011 19:25

really really weird question but do anyone else's boobs smell different??????? tmi I know but for last two days they smell a bit weird!!

sevendwarves · 10/05/2011 19:39

Hi bcc and harassed.

dollys can't say mine smell any different, did they have a smell before?

OP posts:
dollyshouse · 10/05/2011 19:43

I don't know, I don't think I smelled em before Grin I can't even explain what the smell is like, it's not unpleasant just different!!!

harassedinherpants · 10/05/2011 19:58

dollys I know exactly what you mean!! I remember that with dd. Kind of yeasty maybe??

Also, if you have a walk-in epu then I don't believe you have to be bleeding. Certainly the one another lady I know from Miscarriage board uses, you don't have to be.

I had a mmc in Jan and am just dreading having another one. Baby measured 7wks at 10wks. I had a scan last week at 6+1, but I'd really like another one before 12 week scan. I don't want to get to 12 week scan, but the birthing centre, with loads of other prg women and have it happen Sad.

DarciesmumandBump2 · 10/05/2011 20:19

Dollys Glad you spoke to the hospital. Have you asked if they can scan you any earlier?

Blood tests were to check my HCG & something else. Due to chemical/very early miscarriages in the past and because I was getting cramps last week. thankfully all come back as normal healthy pregnancy :)

Really need my holiday to be here now and DD to behave and not create a scene when it comes to eating don't think my BP can take it.

babychoochoo · 10/05/2011 20:49

Im amazed at how many (dare i say it) older mums there are about this time round. Also everyone on here is very welcoming thank you.

Went to the docs this morning and gave her what i think is the date of my last period which would make me 9+2 weeks. Waiting now for my hospital appt and dating scan. Hope it's soon.

Dollys - How weird we are so similar. Hope you get an earlier scan, if you have a EPU at your hospital, nothing to lose and it would put your mind at rest.

purpleflower123 · 10/05/2011 21:37

I'm still waiting for the community midwife to call, the midwife at the doctors said it would be the community midwives that sort out my dating scan and notes, by my last period I'm 10 weeks now although I think I'm 8 as I was on the pill 10 weeks ago and stopped taking it 8 weeks ago. I'm not sure when to chase it up, I went on Wednesday last week. I'm not even sure who I'd ring to chase it up.

No idea if my breasts smell different, to be honest I've never smelt them. My sweat smells different though.

I can't drink coffee anymore, I really fancy it but as soon as I take a sip my stomach turns :(

Glad you had a good scan harassed although I understand why you are still a bit worried, I can't wait for my 12 week scan just to know for definite.

Good to see you got your scan date Dolly and the good blood test results darcies :)

I think I may be the youngest here Blush I still find it odd that up until I was 17 I said that I'd never have children and now I'm 24 and expecting my 3rd!

LittleMissFlustered · 10/05/2011 22:15

Purple, I can't stand coffee either, and I love the stuff. My weekend treat is a sneaky bucket of latte in Starbucks, and now I would rather avoid the place at all costs:(

Babychoochoo, out of curiosity, what do you consider old?

babychoochoo · 10/05/2011 23:08

LittleMissFlustered, im 43 yoa and will be 44 when this baby is due

dollyshouse · 10/05/2011 23:49

hi harrassed yes yeasty as good a description as any I suppose, kind of wholesome but different, I made the mistake of asking DH to smell em last night but he only has one thing on his mind once he sees em ha ha!
Darcies so glad all bloods ok Smile I spoke to hospital but they do not do earlier scans as a routine thing but she did say I could go to the EPU for a scan but not been there before and it's a good drive away, don't know if you get seen straight away or what? so don't know what to do now Hmm
purpleflower you just made me feel ancient Sad I think I'm the oldest on here, better start calling me granny!

LittleMissFlustered · 11/05/2011 10:46

Age is relative. I'm thirty but feel at least double that at times. Especially on mornings where I just want to go back to bed!

goodnightmoon · 11/05/2011 15:21

i'm feeling about 106 today. work is running me ragged and i keep telling myself i have to stay calm and not rush around. haven't noticed anything with my boobs beyond their enlarged size but with my son i remember absolutely hating the smell of my pee! i had ketones showing up in my samples all the time so maybe that was something to do with it.

dollyshouse · 11/05/2011 18:23

My pee smells weird too ha ha ha bet I smell lovely all round eh? Grin

LittleMissFlustered · 11/05/2011 19:16

I'm choosing to believe I smell normal :o

thinkingpositive · 11/05/2011 20:01

Breasts are larger and tender!! But then again my breasts couldn't get any smaller....Ha! Ha! However i cant say they smell of yeast. Gonna have to check with DH.

I cant smell meat cooking, cant eat meat and the smell of a braai (BBQ) is dreadful!! Terrible thing as i was always convinced i was a carnivore....

Plus i have to catch an hours zzzzzzzz after work or im in bed at 9pm.

dollyshouse · 11/05/2011 22:01

girls I have been feeling some little flutters/pops in my belly, surely not the baby? feels exactly like it does when baby starts kicking. I'll be 8 weeks on friday?? anyone else experienced this? been happening last two days, wind? I felt DS at 20 wks and DD at 16 wks Hmm

dollyshouse · 11/05/2011 22:14

I think its wind Blush

harassedinherpants · 12/05/2011 11:32

dollys I would say wind too, I've had similar. I also can't tell the difference between cramping and wind Hmm!

I'm 40 and will be 41 when this one comes (fingers firmly x'd). I had my ds's very young (they're 21 & 20) and had this wonderful bit in my late 20's-early 30's where I did everything I'd missed out on! Girly hols, nights out etc and I learnt to surf Grin. Was fab, but loving being a mummy to lo's again.

I've been totally freaking out tbh. I had a mmc in Jan at 10+1 with baby measuring 7 weeks, and I'm 7+1 today. It's all very scary. I have booking in next week and I'm going to cry/beg for another scan and if not hope we can afford a private one. We're moving on the 28th so need all the ££'s for that!

thinking I'm like that with meat Envy and I normally love my meat. Dh is an am boxer so eats loads of meat and it's killing me. Stinks!!!

Oh and bless him for cooking bacon and eggs yesterday morning with no extractor fan on and every single door and window shut..........

goodnightmoon · 12/05/2011 15:43

i have been eating some meat but there's a street near where I live where there are about 30 butchers (and we're talking crazy meat and fish of the world being sold) and I thought I was going to die from the smell.

best wishes to everyone worrying about mmc's. I totally understand - my last one was at 8 weeks 5 days and I'm 7 weeks 5 days now so can't wait to get past that hurdle. Actually my next scan is exactly a week away so that could give me confidence or another massive disappointment ... yikes.

dollyshouse · 12/05/2011 20:04

girls bit of advice please, went to loo this morning and had a bit of whiteish discharge that I have had before but this morn there was a tiny tiny tiny amount of extremely faint very very pale pink, you had to look to notice it was that pale and nothing else all day and no pains etc and I had exactly the same with my DS and DD but earlier ie when period due but am now 7+5 is that too late for implantation spotting? is this normal? am slo paranoid following MMC 18 months ago (no heartbeat at 12 weeks baby died 9 weeks)

dollyshouse · 12/05/2011 20:19

actually more of an extremely hint of a pale pink mixed with a hint of a pale orange if that makes sense and only a tiny bit and nothing since, what is it? surely too late for implantation?

womanwholivedinashoe · 12/05/2011 21:06

Hello ladies,

May I join I'm 41+ and on my 6th pregnancies, DD1 21, DS1 20, DS2 14, DS3 8, DS4 6 months am only 5+2 at present seeing DR next week but no symptoms as yet as I have always had them (well the ones I can remember lol) before?

dollyshouse sometimes the stress of worrying about something makes it worse, i'd just get it checked out with gp just to be sure. Not sure if they would hear heartbeat yet but you can ask for an early scan to reassure you xx
