i am feeling pretty guilty as i havent been watching what i eat at all :( just eating worse if anything... a nice tuna wrap sounds lovely to me (think im passing my junk food stage)

Mmmm ihave just had some s&v crisps... sorry!! It was actually the kettle one mmmm i love them!

I think i may have tuna jacket spud for tea and loads of salad! I go to spai tomorrow for 3 nights, and im banning any photos as i will be in an old bikini that will be a bit snug!!

kri5ty · 15/07/2011 11:58

Mopsy u are making me feel really bad! I have had special K, and egg sandwhich and a packet of crisps already! saying that i start work at 7... so i guess for my body clock its around 2 or 3pm!

mopsytop · 15/07/2011 12:03

I wouldn't feel bad if I were you. That sounds reasonable to me! I love egg sarnies. I love Kettle chips too, esp. salt and vinegar. I also really love those walkers ridges salt and vinegar. Mmm. I get the odd craving for vinegar, a few weeks ago had it REALLY badly but it has abated somewhat now. Feeling better after my apple. When I was a child and I wanted a snack, my mum always told me to eat an apple. If I grumbled she said if I was really hungry I'd want an apple and if I didn't, then I wasn't really hungry and just wanted a treat. She was right because I REALLY enjoyed that apple. I love pink ladies!

your mum sounds like a wise woman! i Like that and must rememebr to pinch it and use it someday on my LO! mmm talking of apples i would say i love cox.... bur saying that out loud just sounds wrong!!

I hated vinegar pre pregnancy, and now i loveeee it... even drove 15 mins to the nearest shop the toher night as we didnt have any in the house!

mopsytop · 15/07/2011 12:26

It's weird isn't it? Wonder what's in it that pregnant bodies like? I think I may have to go and get some s+v crisps now!

figgygal · 15/07/2011 12:28

Im loving the vinegar hence the increased frequency of chips in my diet its not the same on anything else, am also sucking on Salt and Vinegar snack a jacks for a hit as crisps arent as vinegary as i want.

I am trouble getting more veg into my diet but fruit is easy i eat a tin of grapefruit without even thinking, Innocent Smoothies are a great help too.

This time next week i will 20 weeks eek!!

kri5ty · 15/07/2011 12:44

I remember from science somthing about viengar heling break down calcium... no idea why that would be anything to do with pregnancy though!!

ooo salt ad vinegar snack a jacks... will keep an eye out... healthier than crisps!

kri5ty · 15/07/2011 12:45

and makes the calcium easier to absorb in to the body*

mopsytop · 15/07/2011 16:35

Had a lovely lunch of tuna wrap with loads of veggies and some cherries, then an apple mid afternoon followed by a granola bar. And I am still STARVING. What is up with my greedy baby? How much food does it want?!

It's gone quiet so thought I would bump.

Scan on Thursday I'm wracked with nerves convinced something is wrong as not felt any movement and had been every day up to Thursday. I dont want to be a hysteric though so trying to be calm.

Also have convinced myself itself a boy to extent I'm thinking of it as he him his I really really want a girl always have done but i think it's the old reverse psych at work in that if it is a boy I won't take as long to accept it.

Sorelip · 19/07/2011 09:01

Hi Figgygall, I'm having the scan on Thursday too, though I already found out I'm having a boy at 17 weeks, during an impromptu scan by a consultant. Good luck for Thursday!

TeacupTempest · 19/07/2011 11:41

Hi

Wondering how much people are showing now. My bump arrived within the last couple of weeks. Sometimes I think its little but other times I already feel like a whale. Hard to know whats normal I guess!

I have a wedding to go to in two weeks and am trying to decided whether to wear something to hide my bump a bit or to go the other way and show it off!

Sorelip · 19/07/2011 12:03

TeacupTempest, I'd wear something that showed the bump off, but that you are comfortable in. I'm sure there are some lovely dresses that would be perfect, if you like dresses.

People just today at work have started exclaiming "Wow you look pregnant now!" to which I've been replying "You what? I'm pregnant? Oh no!" :o

newartriotstar · 19/07/2011 12:27

I have a bump now (17 weeks). It sticks out nearly as much as my boobs (I'm a dd) I'm not sure if I've felt movement yet, there have been a few little pops/bubbley feelings in the bump area but I have IBS too which can cause all kinds of odd feelings so I have no idea if it was the baby or not!

Good luck with the scan figgygal, mine isn't for another 2 weeks and I'm already shitting myself.

We've decided not to find out the sex. I veer between boy/girl daily and quite like speculating! I'm really not into gendered baby clothes so not knowing doesn't make any difference to our preparations at all. My baby is going to be in red, green and purple rompersuits regardless of penis/vagina!

figgygal · 19/07/2011 13:34

My bump comes and goes today it is not too bad and i am in normal clothes saw someone for the first time in 4 months today as she off on mat leave and she couldnt believe i was going to be half way on Friday on the other hand on Sunday i was the size of a house and nothing fit. would like to have a consistent proper bump so peeople dont just think i have put on almost a stone and look like a massive fatty.

I think i have decided on my pushchair now i have abandoned the travel system idea and going for a baby jogger city mini, might actually buy it at end of the month and then that expense is out of the way.

mopsytop · 19/07/2011 14:13

I would like a proper bump too - sometimes I look pregnant and it looks like a bump, the rest of the time I just look fat. Hope your scans go well! Mine isn't for another 3 weeks nearly so I am not nervous yet. I haven't felt the baby yet either. I am only 17+2 so I guess it's too early for my first baby.

Today I have brought loads of snackage to stave off the greedy baby - cherries, apples, carrots, apricots, almonds and granola bar. Hope it works as this hunger is just insane. Don't want to end up the size of a house!

Hi everyone, I've just noticed this thread so I thought I'd pop in and say 'hello' as we're expecting our first in December - due date is 24th, so poor baby will have a birthday around Christmas if it's on time, which everyone with a birthday around then says sucks.

I have a bit of bump - you can only really notice it when I've got my clothes off. When I have my clothes on I just look a bit fatter than normal - but my usual clothes are getting a bit tight and uncomfortable. Bought a couple of maternity dresses/tops in the sale, but I don't feel I've got the bump to justify wearing them just yet, even though they would prob be much comfier than my usual clothes.

mopsytop · 19/07/2011 15:11

I have totally given into the maternity wear and did already at 14 or 15 weeks. It's just WAY more comfy. Ordinary clothes were a) digging in too much and b) for some reason made me look even more podge than maternity ones. I am feeling rather podge though!

I am due Christmas day! Maybe our babies will be a week late or early. I hope so! Early rather than late would be my preference. Only by a week or so though!

Hehe, so many Christmas babies! I'm due on the 27th - "Twixtmas"!

kri5ty · 20/07/2011 07:46

hey girlies :) how are we all?

Good luck for everyone with scans this week figgy im sure you will be fine :) parenting is a life full of worrying... we are all just starting it now!!

My bump comes and goes too, somedays it looks huge, then other days it is tiny... in my "normal" clothes i just look a bit podgy, and in maternity clothes i look like i have a bump!

I was in spain over the weekend (just about fit in to my old bikini) but i felt like i looked like i just had a beer belly, rather than a baby in there! Although i think i may have felt movement when my belly got too hot! not 100% though... next thursday can;t come quick enough so i can relax a little more after my scan!

OiMissus · 20/07/2011 09:29

Hello everyone, it's so reassuring to read all these threads:
I'm 20 weeks, 5 days - not felt any movements yet - sometimes look podgey, sometimes look pregnant - just back from a glorious 2 weeks in Italy, looking like a fatty in my bikini, but I have a lovely brown little bump so it's Ok.
I have a few maternity things, but have mainly bought baggy dresses. ...But I am disgusted with the underwear I'm wearing these days! The delicate, French lacy thongs and bras have been swapped for MASSIVE comfy cottons. I'm now a 34E/F, and my 38yr old's boobs (which were starting to feel the force of gravity) are now fantastic!
Whilst on hols, I had a horrid night of lower abdominal pain coming and going in waves for over 8 hours - I was in a cottage at the bottom of a cliff so couldn't do anything... The next day the pains had gone so we carried on as normal. We had our 20 week scan on Monday and I was so relieved to see the little heart still beating, and to hear that the baby is growing normally and looking healthy. Phew!
As kri5ty said, this is where the worrying starts - we've got the next 30 years or so ahead of us. :)

kri5ty · 20/07/2011 09:45

oiMissus did the hospital say what it could have been? That muct have been so scary! Glad everything is good now and that we shall be soon having a brewage!!!

kri5ty · 20/07/2011 09:46

And re the underwear.. i am currently in horrible Asda's own 5 packs of cotton big knickers!! I am being a cheapskate... £4 for 5 pairs lol

mopsytop · 20/07/2011 10:13

I agree re: the underwear. Ugh. I hate non underwired bras for starters, and having gone from a B to a DD and having to buy new bras, my boobs have now grown AGAIN and they are all too tight, so will have to buy more. Not impressed!

Migraines have stopped thank GOODNESS but still very headachey. At least I can get up and get on with things more or less, as opposed to being able to do absolutely nothing except lie in the dark, but it's still no fun as these headaches are still fairly bad. I feel like I shouldn't complain as they are still so much better than those hideous migraines but I would love just to feel NORMAL and not have sicky headaches all the time. It's very frustrating.

2 and a half weeks until my next scan, feeling impatient ... !
