They're helpful like that aren't they horse. ;-) Definitely showing now. Keep bumping my bump on things.

Awomancalledhorse · 29/06/2011 17:51

I have forgotten to take my iron tablets since Monday...and have just fainted for the first time since december (I've always had iron tablets thanks to my anemia; thankfully I fainted ONTO the bed!

Do you think it's worth mentioning to MW at 16 wk appointment or not? I'm so used to fainting I forget it's not normal!!

kri5ty · 30/06/2011 12:25

yup Awomancalledhorse i faint and have blackouts/fits due to ME and low blood pressure etc, its normal for me too, but i was told by my mW to tell them if it happened... to which i protested " well it used to happen 5 times a day... its normal" they shouted at me and said they are here to look after both me and baby... and faining is not normal for a baby lol

kri5ty · 30/06/2011 12:26

Ps well done with the bed!!

I woke up and i was somehow wedgsed in a doorway with my head on the floor and my bum sticking up in the air lol

Awomancalledhorse · 30/06/2011 14:34

Oh kri5ty, sounds like you could've been injured alot worse with that fall (hit my head on a door handle once fainting), glad you weren't!
I forgot to mention, this pregnancy is the one time in my life I have had 'normal' bp; 100/60 which I know is quite low, but higher than it normally is! Grin

I see your point about the baby not used to fainting, will have to mention it then. I'm still loving my fetal heart rate monitor..used it last night when DH got home to reassure him everything was fine (alright I know it can't tell me if there is a problem, but hearing a heart beat is always nice).

I went to register as an NHS patient at my local dentist today, looking forward to some free dental work! Anyone else taking advantage of their NHS exemption card?

kri5ty · 01/07/2011 09:47

haha Awomancalledhorse i know, i am loving my "normal" bp!! Although like you, it is still low

I still havent bought the doppler, i'm useless at remembering things these days, plus yesterday i had a mad splurge on £75 perfume! And now feel very guilty as i could have bought baby things with the money!! haha

My lovely card came through yesterday! What are you thinking of having done at the dentist? I could really do with a polish but i only had a check up 2 months ago.... :( think i am getting gum disease too boooo to pregnancy!
maybe this could be my excuse to go!!

Awomancalledhorse · 01/07/2011 09:54

kri5ty, my one & only filling feel out last week so having that replaced, and I have developed gum disease (bleeding tender gums & one of my teeth is loose so I can't eat anything hard) :(
Although I've not been to the dentist in about 6-8 months so I'll get a telling off whatever the problem is!

Oooh, mad perfume splurge sounds lovely! Watched a bbc4 documentary on Perfume (to counteract the daytime trash I watch!) & it made me want to go on a splurge, but it would be wasted on me atm as I've had a blocked nose the entire pregnancy...where's this magically awesome pregnancy sense of smell?!

figgygal · 01/07/2011 10:03

Ha ha I have low blood pressure too I was also 100/60 on monday when I got it checked how weird

mopsytop · 01/07/2011 18:30

Hi everyone

unfortunately just spent last 2 days in bed with migraine. Again. Sigh.
But earlier in the week got some lovely new clothes in Mamas and Papas. Brought back the jeans that tore and got some nice dark denim skinny ones and some really nice tops as well. They are the only shop I can find with cute stuff at the moment.

How is everyone feeling? Does anyone have a bump yet? I just look fat! And I would be fine if it wasn't for the headaches, morning sickness and exhaustion totally gone.

Awomancalledhorse · 01/07/2011 18:40

Ooh! We're a low blood pressure gang figgygal!

Mopsy, you have my sympathies, I know how godawul migraines can be (thankfully not had one during pg..yet). Are you feeling much better today?

All the maternity clothes I've seen are a bit poo, so I've just been buying regular clothes in the next size up/mens t-shirts etc.
I have a 'bump' bump, it looks bigger when I'm dressed for some reason, still have the exhaustion too :(

newartriotstar · 02/07/2011 10:35

I have developed a bump in the last week (week 14), it's awesome, only little but very solid to touch and very round! I'm quite skinny and it's such a novelty to have a belly there! Nausea/sickness seems to be going now although I am still throwing up/retching when I brush my teeth. Still getting very tired in the evenings but don't seem to be able to lie in past 9am and wake up between 3 and 4 without fail every night. I'm weeing all the time still but I don't have the urgency behind it anymore if that makes sense?

figgygal · 03/07/2011 16:27

I have seemingly developed a HUGE bump overnight am scared it means I shall indeed be blimp sized by December. Am quite constipated at mo that may be adding to the bloat will see tomorrow I guess.

Had a matalan offer for being a reward card holder and could get £15 off if spent more than £45 so as I already had £27 worth of clothes and non wired bras ( they r hideous I need my padded bra) made it up to £45 with baby stuff - effectively got 5 white suits, 4 unisex pictured suits and scratch mitts for £3.50.

Am back to not buying anything else until after scan on 21st it's hard tho!!!

kri5ty · 04/07/2011 08:02

I have a bump! In most clothes i just look fat, but in certain clothes (maternity ones funny enough) i look like i have bump as you can see that my waist is thin, i am actually loving having a bump! It has got quite big over the last week or so (17 weeks now eeek)

ooo if anyone is buying things off kiddicare soon, enter the code "kiddibook" i think, and you get an extra 5% off, if it doesnt work let me know and i will check what it is!

mopsytop any luck with finding medication you are allowed? Big hugs :( they are awful, im just lucky i havent had one during pregnancy

Awomancalledhors good luck at the dentist! If they start shouting, start rubbing your bump haha , i use it as a guilt trip now if customers at work start having a go at me!

mopsytop · 04/07/2011 08:48

I have had 4 days of migraine now. I hope it doesn't come back today. I wake up with a bearable headache in the morning, bad but bearable, but by midday it has turned into awful horrible migraine and the rest of the day is gone. I really hope today it doesn't turn into a migraine. I am beginning to get to the end of my rope.

I am 15 weeks so hopefully the migraines will stop at 16 weeks, if not will have to go back on medication. I also hope I get a bump soon instead of just looking fat! It looks a bit bump-esque with no clothes on, but just podge with clothes on!

OP posts:
kri5ty · 04/07/2011 08:56

haha yes mine looks very like a podge i most clothes, although i had a lovely maxi dress on yesterday which is now my fav thing ever as you could not even tell!

mopsytop · 08/07/2011 10:03

Hi, how is everyone getting on? I have had so many migraines - nearly every day - it's a nightmare. Going to see a specialist next week as can't carry on like this. 16 week appointment next week too. What's new with everyone?

OP posts:
Felicific · 10/07/2011 15:50

hi mopsytop so sorry you're still feeling rubbish, it can get very depressing :( have you seen an osteopath/chiropractor to rule out neck strain?

I'm getting a tummy now, also found Mamma and Pappas good, lovely dress in the sale and caved and bought a half price baby blanket! We're very excited at mo as we've just collected keys for a new house we're renting - moving back to home town to be close to both sets of parents in two weeks, yay.

How's work been with time off?

mopsytop · 10/07/2011 16:55

hi Felicific, no it's definitely hormonal. I had already figured this out a few years ago and have been on medication since - until falling pregnant!! I love Mamas and Papas clothes - have 2 pairs of jeans and 3 tops from there!

Work has not been happening. Nightmare. So behind. Have to now intermit for a whole term as I have got nothing done. On the other hand, guess I am lucky to be able to be flexible. PhD has its plus points. Will just take me longer to finish. Have a very supportive supervisor, which is great.

Exciting re: new house! Hope the moving/packing isn't stressing you out too much!

OP posts:
kri5ty · 11/07/2011 08:34

Felicific aww good luck with the move :)

we moved 2 weeks ago, and was not as bad as i thought (although i did get really stressed i could not help, as i normally like to do everything my self!!)

mopsytop · 11/07/2011 11:14

Wow two moves! I think it's prob better to move before the baby. Then you can be all set up when it arrives! I think we probably will stay where we are for at least another year but don't much fancy the stress of moving with a baba in tow!

OP posts:
Felicific · 12/07/2011 07:41

Thanks Kri5ty just booked two removal men so I can just point to where things go :) My mum's coming up to help pack and clean so I'm not doing anything till then.

Good news about supportive superviser mopsytop i've been avoiding mine, report due in 1st sep, just hoping I can knuckle down after move and school finishes - MA and working would be poss if not pathetically sleepy by 3pm!

kri5ty · 12/07/2011 09:45

exactly what we did Felicific :) the best money i have ever spent...

Although i did hurt my back unpacking haha

I hope it goes well!!

mopsytop · 12/07/2011 09:48

hi girls guess what - I turned 16 weeks on Sunday and have not had more than a mild headache since. It's only Tuesday I know but for the past several weeks I've had a bad headache every day and a migraine minimum 4 days out of 7 and usually even more often. So I am feeling very hopeful that the migraine hell is over ... apparently it can just stop at 16 weeks - fingers crossed VERY hard!

OP posts:
kri5ty · 12/07/2011 10:00

yayyyyyyyyyyyyyy mopsytop :o

everything crossed for you!!

kri5ty · 12/07/2011 10:05

i'm getting a beard :( just looked i the mirror and have really long blond hairs all on the side of my face, near my chin!!!

I hope no one has noticed!! I don't think i can wait until i finish work to get rid of them, may have to go to the shops for some tweezers!
