No nothing against Sam/Samuel - just trying to think of ways to put the dp/h off it!

kleggie · 29/10/2005 15:48

Definitely stay away from the J's. They're lovely, but just so popular at the moment. Jack is actually the most popular boys name at the mo, followed by Joshua, James, Daniel and Thomas I think.

I like some of the ones on here though and some of my own:

Finnigan
Theo
Samuel
Nicholas
Harry
Benjamin
Bartholomew
Arthur

And not know Joshua is biblical?!?! He fought the battle of Jericho! You must have had the song stuck in your head at some point. Nice name though, strangely enough means 'leader of men'.

munz · 29/10/2005 15:49

I'm not up on my bible storys, apart from the noah moses ones don't shout! lol.

Noah is a nice name!

I like the name Sam/Samuel too - I think it just sounds really sweet. Its my SIL's b/f now so maybe not!

I like Declan too but our surname is Donnelly!

kleggie · 29/10/2005 15:51

Just looked at the Boys Celtic Name site and it has Pony on it. Definition? Small horse.

Also has Mungo, what a great name!

JenumGeranium · 29/10/2005 15:52

uurrgghh I really dont like the name Mungo - sorry!

Always reminds me of Mungo Jerry!

kleggie · 29/10/2005 15:53

Not up on my bible stories either Munz

DH is a Joshua and his MIL sings it at him all the time. Just one of her many annoying habits!

kleggie · 29/10/2005 15:54

I stand by my comment. Mungo is a great name.

For a dog.

JenumGeranium · 29/10/2005 15:55

ahh well thats different! lol

munz · 29/10/2005 15:58

some of the names are odd yes kleggy - I can't see anyone naming their child pony! - or mungo come to think of it - isn't that the name of the hospital in harry potter?

OMG, Kleggie, my sister had a dog called 'Mungo'. Now, sadly, everytime I hear it I think of an energetic black Lab, bounding towards me with ears flapping in the breeze.
