Cod, you are right. Wilf is NOT good. Wilf is my insane bigoted rude mean Grandad. NO!

Not traditional but what about Jenson?

Blu · 28/10/2005 16:04

I like wilf!

PeachyClair · 28/10/2005 16:10

But you wouldn't if you'd met my Grandad. And names are like that aren't they? Entirely coloured by people who share them.

zippitippitoes · 28/10/2005 16:22

Isn't there a rule that says what ever name you choose it will be extremely popular within three years of you choosing it?

JoolsToo · 28/10/2005 17:01

ds1 (31) loves Stan

SerahScarer · 28/10/2005 17:04

GhostofNatt...

May I take the opportunity to congratulate you on your excellent name ideas -

I named my son one of them

Is it a bad thing or a good thing that he will never be able to find a pencil/keyring/door name plate with his name on it???

tabitha · 28/10/2005 17:34

What about:
Archie
Andrew (wanted to call ds this, but dh 'won')
Hamish
Finlay
Iain
Robert/Robbie
Alfie
Ralph
James
Charles

princesspeahead · 28/10/2005 17:37

right - names of all the boys in the peahead family (nephews, sons etc)..
theodore (theo)
charlie
sam
freddie
miles
alexander
giles
tobias (toby)
jeremy
matthew
henry
miles

any of those? my friend has an edward who is called Ned - I like Ned. I also like Will, Tristan and Louis.
I loathe celtic names, unless you are actually bona fide irish or scots with an accent to prove it - and actually I don't like them much then either!

princesspeahead · 28/10/2005 17:37

archie is nice as well

aloha · 28/10/2005 17:39

Listen to PPH! She chose my dd's name! And I'm very pleased with it too.

zippitippitoes · 28/10/2005 17:39

pph is there an appropriate accent to go with yournames?

sweetkitty · 28/10/2005 17:50

Sam
Charlie
Michael (Mikey quite cute)
William
Thomas
Andrew

or John? think how exotic John will be growing up!

If I ever have a boy his name would be Elliot

SoupDragon · 28/10/2005 17:51

There is an appropriate accent to go with PPH's names but it's not Welsh, Scottish or Irish!

zippitippitoes · 28/10/2005 17:58

Kesey
Steinbeck
Burgess
Dickon
Hardy
Kingsley

roomonsammacsbroom · 28/10/2005 18:07

Munz, I'm defending your choice of K names. Ds is a K, and we're certainly not chavs, never met another one, and it goes with our very (long)Scottish surname.
Dh was at school with a boy called it many moons ago, and always really liked the name. It suits him very well and 'goes' with his sister's name too.

vickiyumyum · 28/10/2005 18:16

we have a k name too and i am certainly not a chav (the are you a chav test proved it ) ds1 name is Keir which is a celtic name, which apparently means dark, swarthy, its a shame ds1 is fair!

ds2 is William most definatley not bill or billy, occassionaly he is called will, but usually william (we liked Liam to keep the celtic connection but decided that was too common in the area that we live in)

CarolinaFullMoon · 28/10/2005 18:25

v literary zippi! can you imagine shouting "Steinbeck" at your kid across the playground?

my ds has one of the peahead names, it's lovely

I know a Kai - he is the naughtiest boy I know in fact. Charming with it though.

zippitippitoes · 28/10/2005 18:26

I think it would be quite cool

zippitippitoes · 28/10/2005 18:27

Was actually looking at my stock order for new mugs based on penguin books

Avoid the J's if you want something unusual, I teach a baby group and they are all Jacob, John, Jack, Joshua etc.

never met another 2 year old called Bob...
