Dale,

I wanted Charlie or Archie for a boy..

GeorgieVickyLou · 28/10/2005 21:02

Oh, and my brother little Boy.. Ethan..

JenumGeranium · 28/10/2005 21:03

My ds2's middle name is Ethan! I also like Elliot too. Dont like the name Arthur - I look after a little boy called Arthur and it feels weird when I have to call him!

pmsl @ Nimrod Ping!!! Poor little soul!!

This thread reinforces how much trouble I'm going to be in if I have a girl... I love all these boys names but can't think of a single girl one I like.

I still love the bame Harvey which dp was strongly against for ds last year but when I mentioned it the other day he said "Hmm that's not bad"

Zephyrrywitchescat · 29/10/2005 09:29

I have 3 boys - Dominic, Arran and Joel. We wanted something unusual without being off the wall. Dominic is a bit more common now and I was gutted when there was another Arran in my son's class. With the baby (he's 7 months) I'm hoping we've finally hit on one a bit more unusual.

Mandy.

Gobbledispook · 29/10/2005 11:08

I know two Joels!! Sorry!

Nightynight · 29/10/2005 11:39

My 3 youngest all have very unusual names. It is because they are very old traditional names from dx's country. I believe, but I am not sure, that at the time they were born, each one was the only living person with their name, though there may be others now.

Oh I'm still not feeling it... I have a Joseph (Joe) James and a Max David (love David and unusual these days). Their surname is also a common boy's name. Still liking Jack for this babe (but so overexposed) and still liking Finlay but still not 100%.

PMSL at Isambard - I used to have a real thing about that name, also Vyvyan (after Ade Edmondsond in the young ones!).

Quite like Charlie and Frankie (my ma n pa! - actually her real name is Shirley but that's another story...)

munz · 29/10/2005 14:57

hi guys,

thanks for continuing with this, there's been some def good ones - mainly my choices DH is sticking with his jack/joe idea - and tbh I don't want jack.

zeph - pheobe - that was our girls name (or outsie runner isobel) but had that sorted we didn't think about boys names as u know we were certain it was gonna be a girl! lol. I love harvey to - I said harvey he said nicholls!

JG - we're def no to keiths - v v horrible ex of mine as is stewart. (althou don't mind andrew/drew)

tinkers - still love bo - but the view was it's somehting u'd name a dog (no offense anyone as that's not my view)

examples of one's I like which have been discredited are...

archie,ashley,bayley,william,blake,bradley,brett,callum,charley,cain,cody,connor,dale,drew(not andrew),Ewan,finnlay,flynn,grant,hayden,harry/harrison,jay,jesse,joel,jonah,kane,kieran,liam,lloyd,
miles,owen,oliver,rhysmackenzie,kian,leo,noah,riley,russell,taylor,alfie.

some common some not so all DH liked so far is sam (not samual) Zach, (has now said no) Jack, Jake and Joseph.

how popular's jake these days?

Hiya Munz Totally know where you're coming from with your dh saying something after every name, my dp does it too and is obsessed with calling it Sam as well! He was for ds but I managed to talk him out of it. Now once again anytime I give he a name he just says "Sam" and won't listen!!

Jake is pretty popular at the moment. Have you been onto the Bounty website? They tell you the top hundred for the last year and how many places the name has moved up/down the list and how many of that name have been registered in the last year

munz · 29/10/2005 15:06

no will have to have a look - how did u manage to get aroun the sam idea - this jack one seems to be coming abck up - our middle name as u know is paul (after both our dads) and jack is the male form of MIL's name - and not that I mean to sound horrible but it would be jack (MIL) paul (FIL/DF) iycwim - I wante a completely seperate first name.

I haven't got around Sam yet. I don't hate it but prefer Samuel and know it would get shortened to Sam/Sammy. Next time he says Sam say Fox! Also make up some nicknames to put him off like jammy sammy or something - that's a trick I use!

I like the name Jonjo though would probably call them John Joseph and then shorten it!

munz · 29/10/2005 15:15

lol@zip - I have been usin gthat tatci - althou I do feel a bit mean as well cos I'm picking all the naems and he's saying nope nope etc! lol. waht do u lot think to rueben or lennon? - althou lennon - he'll say john to! lol.

spookyserenity · 29/10/2005 15:21

Oi! Sam's a good name, but far better for a girl imo.

Ruddy Sam Fox grumble grumble.

My nephew is a potential Sam too (Samuel)

Zephyrrywitchescat · 29/10/2005 15:24

they're on my list too - I love lennon because it's a bit different but wouldn't like Len or Lenny....

munz · 29/10/2005 15:24

lol - yes nothing against sam from here - well apart from I knew a sam once - right dogdey charecter he was. (I think sam's better suited to a girl, samual for a boy) - besides the dog in work is called sam/sammie.

why is it u associate names with ppl u know/knew/pets etc?

done DH another list so will leave it by the comp. quite a mix in there.

OP posts:
munz · 29/10/2005 15:25

ooh zpeh didn't think of that - no i'd hate len/lenny esp as well.
