Hey haven't been on here in ages & ages but just heard from caribou about viv

Huge congratulations viv on the wonderful news of the arrival of Phoebe (gorgeous name)

Have caught up a bit on the news while I'm here too. ivy hoping you're not waiting any longer

Hope everyone else is doing ok. With any luck I might be around a bit more quite soon.

Ladybee · 01/05/2011 21:58

Hi ladies, just dropped in to say congrats to Viv, and here as a present to you all is your updated list. do check please.

Ivy I went into labour at 40+10 with DS after a 2nd 'vigorous' sweep - although the MW didn't do anything like rupture membranes, they went by themselves at 3AM the following day. I still remember the eternal waiting and discomfort, I hope your time comes soon m'dear.

caribou don't count on that hair appointment. Mine was booked the day that I finally went into labour, and both my best girlfriends also went into labour (10 days early, cows) the day of, or before, their hair appts. Consequently we all look a bit rubbish in our photos Grin

Gi1da · 02/05/2011 14:12

Saw Freezing pop in so am jumping up and down in an attention seeking kinda way to catch her attention. Hope all is good with you Smile x

Hope everyone is feeling blooming or reassuringly shite depending on your dates Smile. Wow I remember adding Apple and Crochet to the list, now look at you. [misty-eyed]

Happy long weekend all xx If any of you are manically nesting and have run out of things to clean, pop round and I'll keep you in cake and tea!

Thanks for doing the list lady, really hope to see you here properly before too long.

waves to gi1da, I remember you adding me to the list too! eek... fifth from the top, that's quite close!

loopy is it dd's surgery today? Hope it all goes well, and baby stays put until your safely home and calm again. Here's praying for a wednesday homebirth delivery! Wink

Hope it's not too bad going back to work today nicks...at least it'll be a break from your toddler!! Mine is currently rolling around on the floor with a pillow Hmm they are a strange breed, these little ones.

ivy how are you doing?

All good here...very uncomfy so going to try and see the mw tomorrow just to find out if it's a) baby's beginning to engage and therefore nothing I can do about it, or b)something the physio might be able to help with.

big waves to all.

StickThemWithThePointyEnd · 03/05/2011 09:37

we have a little boy :) 3.8kg, name can be found on bf or I can pm.
born at home in the pool this morning after a quick labour, and with only a graze. the placenta arrived before the 2nd midwife, and I had to put up the pool myself because my dearest husband didn't believe me I was in labour :o

owlbooty · 03/05/2011 10:38

WOOO!

Ivy you star, thank you for saving his arrival for when I got back from my hols Grin Excellent stuff about the home birth with pool; that sounds fabulous. xx

And a very large hurrah for the arrival of MiniViv whilst I'm at it. :)

Got my first NCT class this evening. Am not sure whether it will be entertaining or horrific. Probably I will fall asleep in a corner and miss most of it.

Bee you are a list-updating hero; I always bugger it up and have thus chickened out and left it to more numerate persons than myself.

Hope the packing and preparations are going well for the epic move :)

Youremindmeofthebabe · 03/05/2011 11:19

Congratulations ivy! So very chuffed for youGrin

AlbaDeTamble · 03/05/2011 12:40

Ivy reiterating my hurrah from bookface but also Angry Shock at your DH for leaving you to do the pool on your own! I found it distracting enough during my labour just hearing DH get the pool ready, huge respect to you and well done despite his pessimism!

nickstermum · 03/05/2011 13:13

Huge congrats honey, already said this "you have the patience of a saint" and " huge congratulations" Grin Fab that you got the birth you wanted, sorry it took so long to get there, but fab that little man arrived safely - both you and he are fine... thats the main thing :)

loops 3yo was snoring from 6.45 so i enjoyed a blissful evening of solitude. Love him with all my heart, but he was devilish yesterday. Hes had a very very busy month with camping/daddy moving away/holiday/travelling and hasnt stopped - total and utter sheer exhaustion! Apparently mummy is horrid and he doesnt like or love me anymore!! [still ended up snuggled up in bed with me at 3am though Grin ]

So - whos top of the list now then?

Quietly mentalled over the weekend.. movements are sporadic, and very very low down... when i am bloated/need a poo/need a wee i cannot feel a thing at all... placenta is anterior and i know that muffles things, but even so... have had some wriggling this morning... but it never seems to backflip... or get kicks anywhere else, please reassure me!! Looking for 10 per day as per the guidelines... but for all those ladees who have mufflers on their uterus[s] - should i be concerned or am i being a nob?

apples i remember when DS engaged. I was in acute pain. I was walking down the stairs and felt a very very sharp pain in my pelvis...apparently it was engaging according to the MW. (i have a small exit apparently!) Hopefully its engaging and therefore not too long to go, but equally not good if its hurting you!!

PinkFondantFancy · 03/05/2011 13:18

Hello all! Congratulations ivy and well done for getting your own pool up!!!

owly hope you had a fab holiday!

I have had a fairly naff day - prepare for irrational rant... Went for my anomaly scan which as you all know, has been stressing me out for a few weeks now. Felt dodgy in the waiting room, ran to the toilets for the most impressive projectile vom you have ever seen in your life. According to DH the entire waiting room heard it Blush. So anyway, had the scan which was good in so far as minipink seems to be alive and well which is a big relief to see. However, it was a total let down in that minipink was in its usual favourite position of crouching which means it's impossible to see the heart, face or throat. We had this same problem at the 12 week scan, but because we'd gone privately for that (MW forgot to book a 12 week scan.......), they took enough time to wait for it to roll over enough to see what they needed to see. Not so on the NHS - the scan was literally 5 minutes long, no communication whatsoever on what she could see and whether things look ok, no attempt to wait for the baby to move or get me to move around or anything, and the earliest they can book a repeat scan is 3 weeks' time. No idea what happens if the baby is in the same position then as well. So have had all this stressy build up (which I admit is entirely my own fault) and still no comfort that everything's ok. I'm thinking about going back to the Fetal Medicine Centre for a full anomaly scan but need to check with them what happens if the baby's being uncooperative then as well. At least they will do a gender scan at the same time. Gah, I know I sound like a whingy cow, and I am grateful that what they did see looked fine which is great news. Just would have liked something a bit more conclusive Confused

Oi. Nix . Grin

The 10 a day thing is no use til you get to 28 weeks anyway. Owlet was going bonkers earlier this week, backflips and all sorts. Today he's doing bugger-all and I have decided he's just doing it to wind me up. I also feel a lot less when I am feeling bloaty or have indigestion - today it's just the odd muffled thud so I think he's turned around.

lucysnowe · 03/05/2011 13:22

Hi all!

I'm ready to add my name to the list at last :-)

Am 21+6, and went to see consultant today. My c-section is booked for 41 weeks (!!!) so my DD will be 14th September, ye gods.

My 20 week scan went well, and we are fairly obviously having a little boy. :)))
