It's half done. The clothes and stuff are in there - I just need to pick up a few bits from Boots on the way home from work tonight and I promise you it will be complete.... Wink

nickstermum · 11/04/2011 13:53

owlbooty · 11/04/2011 14:11

Me neither. Surely this baby is going to arrive very, very soon. Am I allowed to start prodding her yet? Grin

Viv whoop! Ace news :)

PinkFondantFancy · 11/04/2011 14:23

Happy birthday penguin ! Hope you are having a lovely day with lots of cake! Mmmm cake Grin

clareanna good point about the cotbeds - I hadn't even considered that..... Oh man, this is going to be a whole new world!!!

Fantastic news viv , that v. exciting!

News from over here, I think I might have been feeling the baby move today - if I sit very still it feels like sort of scratchy bubbles in one place. Either that or I am brewing a biiiiiig chuff, which is entirely possible actually Grin

nix how did yesterday's train journey go?

Come 'ere Teacake , let me staple you to Velvet who I have already stapled to Wombat who I believe if memory serves me right is stapled to the carpet Grin

Massive congratulations on getting to 12 weeks after all the shite you've been through :)

PFF Hope it's not a chuff but v.hard to tell early on, isn't it?

Nix yes, hope the train journey was not too hideous, also hope you're not still in transit Grin

Wombat33 · 11/04/2011 15:57

Hello ladies. I'm loving the chat about all things baby shopping-related. We've put an offer in on a house so I'm getting prematurely excited about buying stuff even though (i) we haven't bought the house yet and may not have our offer accepted and (ii) I'm on a self-imposed baby-stuff purchasing ban until 24 weeks! Grin

Daisybell1 · 11/04/2011 16:40

Hello all again

Thank you for making me feel welcome, I appreciate it Grin

Weyhey to Wombat on the house, that's brilliant news, and I'm right behind you Owl at rugby tackling Teacake onto her beanbag.

I don't think I've shared much here, although the conception ladies know all this backwards - have been struggling with a lot of things recently and have ended up with being borderline pre-natal depression.

This is stress related, and particularly to some exams I've got coming up. My Dr, partner, MW and mum have all asked me to defer them on health grounds, and so I'm coming round to this. After making the decision, I feel that things have become a lot brighter and I feel less 'torn' between two pathways/roles - does this make sense?

Basically, I'm going to ignore the exams and concentrate on moving in properly with OH, and on being pregnant. And it feels so much more manageable Grin

Velvetcu · 11/04/2011 17:03

congrats Viv for getting to term

come on Ivy yours is gonna be my first baby whilst lurking/stapled to the floor here!

nickstermum · 11/04/2011 18:09

OrangeGloss · 11/04/2011 18:35

Apples how lovely! And very exciting
Ivy a cabin bed with slide sounds awesome! Bit scary but nice you have an eager MW. I won't know which one I'll get or might not have met. They all seem nice so far
Happy birthday Penguin!! I hope you're sat eating lots of cake somewhere Grin
Yay for Viv on term!! Is your bag now packed?
Pink it sounds promising, I hope you get some more to confirm it's pinkbean not windypops
Wombat I said the same thing about buying Blush but a bargain's a bargain
Daisy don't blame you, that's the priority at the moment
Nix will you see Mr Nix on Friday for the weekend? Must have been hard saying goodbye

Well, we bought the Quinny. All the bits and pieces for far far less than anything we liked the look of new, 2nd hand from a friend, and all really good condition. We do a lot of walking so hopefully it'll come in use

I had a teary moment thinking I've tempted fate, but am now going to put it all in the spare room and shut the door :)

nickstermum · 11/04/2011 19:39

Who has been talking about a cabin bed with a slide? must have missed that... i saw one the other day... cabin bed yes, slide NO CHANCE!! can you imagine trying to get them to bed Grin My little scamp would be a nightmare at 3am Grin

YEY for the buggy Orange fab news! know a few peeps with quinnys and they seem popular :) YEs friday night... have spent the last 12 months wanting rid of him, and now hes gone im sad :( and DS has been misbehaving so is either totally shattered from the weekend and todays pre-school or is starting to attention seek. Bit of both probably. Rang mum for a chat earlier and started bawling, needless to say i didnt do much work today Hmm

pink lying really still on your back in the evening/nighttime did it for me, thats when i have felt most early movement. Now i tend to feel more movement if i lean forward whilst on the puter... pressing it against the placenta Grin so i can feel it better Hmm

Right, DS is snoring, where to start where to start... chores!!

clareanna · 11/04/2011 21:18

OMG! In 24 hours I'm going to be at the hospital getting ready to have my baby - I am now absolutely peeing my pants!!!!

Loopy get that book running - more than happy for Ivy to go first Grin

Ivy hope the reflexology gives baby a nudge in the right direction but enjoy the relaxation anyway. Smile

owlbooty · 12/04/2011 09:59

Ivy hope the reflexology is lovely and gets things going again - but failing that, it should at least be lovely :)

orange my brother's just bought a second hand Quinny, he seems v.happy with it so far. Prams are so damn pricey I think it makes really good sense to grab a second hand one if one you like comes up - which they rarely do. I've been scouring all the second hand sites for weeks :)

Can I just say that I feel fat and uncomfortable, I need to chop a semi-circular notch out of my desk to fit my stomach in it so I can reach the keyboard comfortably and my maternity jeans don't fit round my arse any more. They fitted last week. Why? Why? Has my arse expanded in the last week?

I'm not complaining - these are just the facts, people Grin

Emoo · 12/04/2011 11:12

Hello everyone!

I'm starting to feel a bit braver about all this, and ready to spend a bit more time over here with the grown-ups . I'm 14+4 today, had a rocky 1st trimester with bleeding from a subchorionic haematoma, but that seems to have settled down now and I'm hopefully "normal". (It's all relative...)

Lovely to see you here too teacake after all the stresses so far... excellent theory about the maximum cash extraction. I am still struggling along in normal jeans with an elastic to expand the waist, but have had to buy some maternity work trousers. Looks like you might get your wish for someone to share your birthday... I've not read enough to lay bets on whether it might be Ivy or Penguin though. Or both?!

Owl - clearly your arse hasn't expanded. How could that possibly happen? It's just you've shifted into a parallel universe this week where all your clothes are all smaller.

appleblossoms · 12/04/2011 11:14

Lovely to see you ladies venturing over!

Happy Birthday for yesterday penguin....and this time tomorrow you'll be having your baby!! woop! Can't wait to hear all about it Grin Grin Are you very nervous? excited? impatient? oooooh...I love arrivals!

Congrats on reaching term viv...wow, how quickly has that gone! I remember you getting your BFP! Have you packed your bag now?? Wink

How's it going today ivy? You really do have the patience of a saint. I've forgotten, do you know what you're having? Coz it sounds like a girl....keeping you waiting already Wink

exciting news on the house wombat... hope the offer gets accepted and it all goes through really smoothly. The jinx pixies have long since been banashed from all on this thread...so you are quite within your rights to get excited about buying baby stuff... they is not allowed to interfere!!

daisy that sounds very sensible. tis only exams at the end of the day...babies are MUCH more exciting! Wink Glad you're feeling better about things.

Exciting about the buggy orange! Well done on making a decision Wink ...but I bet you'll be popping your head round the door of that spare room at least once a day week just to gaze at it and daydream!

big big hugs to nicks...tis not easy being on your own. I find it hard when DH goes away for two nights with work, so can't imagine a whole working week Sad. Hope the week days pass quickly and you treasure the weekends more and more.

I'm with you on the general uncomfortableness owl... I keep thinking "surely I can't get any bigger"...and then I do. I'd forgotten how HUGE you get towards the end. I agree with tunnocks, surely part of the 'risk assessment' they need to do with work should involve desk alteration?! and maybe the addition of a little bed to have nap midafternoon to catch up on the sleep you can't get at night due to taking an hour to roll from one side to the other!

Poor you tunnocks, hope things 'firm up' for you quickly... if it's not one extreme it's the other eh?!

I'm in a bit of a grump with work at the mo...I have six weeks left, but am cutting down hours from this week...and they decided last week that the person they had planned to cover me (who I have already been training up since January) didn't have enough time. So now I have no idea who is covering me, and I will need to train this person in all aspects of my job whilst I'm getting bigger and more uncomfy and less able to think straight. Decided I'm going to spend this week basically writing out exactly what I do, and then just pointing my boss in the direction of the files. sounds reasonable right?!

appleblossoms · 12/04/2011 11:15

Blush I always write such long posts! sorry!!

appleblossoms · 12/04/2011 11:17

x-posts welcome emoo... owl will be along shortly to staple you down, but have a Brew whilst you're waiting Grin Grin

owlbooty · 12/04/2011 12:03

Buahahahahahaha

apples you're not cheering me here. Occy health are supposed to be coming to inspect my desk/chair combo but I suspect I will have to bring in the hacksaw myself Grin
