hope it all went well madkatz?

KLou111 · 03/03/2011 19:25

£25 Liz off englishop on ebay

Hope everything went OK Madkatz.

Have a clever DH here too thank God! He's got til end of May to sort our shed of a house lol! And I get to have a shower tomorrow morning after a week whoop whoop!!

Well, went for my bloods today, then Doc wanted to see me after cos of my bleed on Sunday. They scanned me again, and all is fine in there, bouncing around :) Gutted as DH not there. He came with me yesterday when I bloody forgot my notes, but he was sorting bathroom and thought I was only having bloods done. He said it was OK, but I can tell he is gutted as we've done everything together so far.
I didn't really get to see baby much as there was only a monitor for them, but saw him/her briefly.

Can relax a bit more now. Grin

I'm really happy for you klou im glad everything is fine :)

DP was gutted when I went to see the MW just before christmas because I got to hear the heartbeat for the first time and he missed it. He missed it last week too bless him.

Lol i've just been reading AIBU threads, and theres one about stuff off ebay. Someone posted on it saying they bought some maternity jeans that smelt of dirty fanny Shock how minging is that!?! Those threads really crack me up sometimes :o

MadKatz · 03/03/2011 20:06

Evening Ladies,

Well it was fine, really don't know why I was worried.

My midwife is lovely and I am so happy/relieved.

Had a long talk about diet, tests, etc, gave me loads of paperwork and booked me in for my scan, just got to wait for a date now, should be last week of March.

And we've finally made a decision we don't want to know if it's a boy or girl before they're born.

I would hate to be a midwife, all that paperwork they have to do! Im glad it all went well for you madkatz :) I tell you what though, be prepared for feeling REALLY impatient because as soon as you get the date for your scan the time will just drag and it will seem like a snail with a tortoise on its back wil be travelling faster!

WOW! Where did this St Davids come from???

KLou111 · 03/03/2011 20:26

The daff came Monday for St Davids day in Wales :)

Soooo much paperwork. Our garage used to be filled with so much shite when I was younger and my mum used to bring it all home. Gutted she still hasn't got all her instruments though, would come in handy now!

True about the scan, next one on 22nd and it can't come soon enough :)

Melly19MummyToBe · 03/03/2011 20:32

Well I've had both my scans now, and a sexing scan because they couldn't tell at my 20 week one, so 3 altogether, the next thing I have to look forward to is cuddles and seeing whose eyes/nose/mouth/ears/eyebrows/hair colour etc etc she has :o

Melly19MummyToBe · 03/03/2011 20:32

St Davids hehehe thats ace :o

lizandlulu · 03/03/2011 20:55

ohh i thought St Davids was a magic wandGrin (must have been watching too much ben and holly!

klou i forgot to tell you i left my notes at home when i went for my first scan too! i totally panicked that i needed them and would get told off, but they were fine about it, although it has made me remember them ever since!

i am all bunged up, its been coming for a couple of days but now my nose is totally stuffed and my head is banging. great.

Melly19MummyToBe · 04/03/2011 10:40

WOO!! Just got my new pair of jeans in the post :o I was really hoping they would turn up quickly, I was only surviving on one pair Blush of maternity jeans (I have 2, but one is under-bump and SO uncomfortable!) and the bottoms were getting all scraggy where they'd been dragging along the ground :/

Im confused about my belly/bump. I was quite podgy before I got pregnant, size 16, and im now 26+3 weeks gone, and my stomach hasn't grown masses, only a tiny bit. BUT it's not squishy and flabby anymore, its pure bump. So where the hell has all my stomach fat gone??? Confused

MadKatz · 04/03/2011 12:57

hey don't grumble melly your tummy fat might not come back!!

lizandlulu · 04/03/2011 13:26

melly its strange isnt it! it must stretch out the layer of fat under the skin, but like madkatz sais, dont complain about it! i still look just fat!

KLou111 · 04/03/2011 18:52

Happy Fr idayall! Got my doppler today Grin been so nice listening to little one whoosh-whoosh-whooshing!! Kept bloody moving though. DH said he/she must be shy or their way of saying can you please just f-off and leave me alone to sleep! :)

Lol on the 'fat' Melly, yes don't complain!

Just had my first bath for the first time in almost 2 years!! Soooooooo good you would not believe. Followed by a sit down shower. I have a week without to make up for!!

What are you all up to this weekend then? We've got my 2 brothers coming this evening for the weekend. Weather been gorgeous all week, hoping it'll stay like that! x

OP posts:
lizandlulu · 04/03/2011 20:01

i have got £20 in my paypal, i think i might just have to get one! do you have to get gel for it?

*i just had a bath too, although mine included a squirmy 5 year old and bloody bath toys, not the relaxing experience i would have likedSmile

this weekend dh is off racing, both sat night and all day sunday. its my choice not to go as its a long way away tomorrow night (3 hours) and sunday will just be plain old boring. we have got the circus in town so going to take dd there on one day, then just got a load of jobs to do, bit of gardening, spot of shopping, got to clean out the caravan, allsorts really!

how odd is it that 2 lads who work for us have had babies within a week of each other! both boys, one by cesarian and the other induced. the gilr who was induced was 38 weeks and has got group b strep so needed to be on a drip when she gave birth and she has them that quick (last one was on the kitchen floor after she woke to go to the toilet) that they wanted to induce her and it took nearly 2 days!

Melly19MummyToBe · 04/03/2011 20:47

Im not complaining really, im just a tad confused as it's all vanished :o I sincerely hope it doesn't come back!

This weekend, im going to West Stockwith Basin to watch the relaunch of my dads narrowboat, he's just had her stretched 8ft so my little sister has her own bedroom :)

Hey klou, when you get further on in your pregnancy, 25+ weeks, have a bath and splosh your bump with water, its hilarious :o

lizandlulu · 04/03/2011 20:55

wow a narrowboat sounds cool, my dad has always wanted to go on one for a holiday, just never got round to it. minly cause mum isnt thrilled with the idea, so she hasnt arranged anythingGrin

i went to the docs earlier and saw a lovely young lady doctor. she had to have a look 'down there' even though i told her it wasnt a pretty sightGrin she said my rash is some fungal infection, probably linked to the thrush. i have had something like it on my arm last year and she said that it was most likely the same as that, just worse as it is warmer and more moist down there, so she gave me some cream to hopefully clear it up.

got some gaviscon tooSmile

Melly19MummyToBe · 04/03/2011 20:55

Oh, just incase anyone doesn't know what a basin is, it basically looks like a big car park, just boats instead of cars, and water instead of tarmac :)

Melly19MummyToBe · 04/03/2011 21:09

My dad lives on a narrowboat :) with his fiance, my 4 year old sister and a dog :o I love going out on the boat, its just so slow and relaxing!

I hope it clears up for you soon liz sounds quite painful [ouchy face]

lizandlulu · 04/03/2011 21:37

sounds lovelySmile we have a river that runs at the bottom of our yard and i love to watch out of the kitchen window at all the boats that go by, some look mega money!

MadKatz · 05/03/2011 06:57

Our flat looks out over the basin in gloucester docks, lots of money there too. I quite fancy a narrow boat but I get very sea sick - even with the slightest motion - so not sure its a good idea!!

Melly19MummyToBe · 05/03/2011 09:43

You might be ok on a marrowboat madkatz, they move very slowly, you can walk faster than them sometimes! The only time they bob about like boats is when they're moored up and other boats go past :)

Could strawberries and cream be considered a craving do you think? So far i've eaten it every evening since monday, and today I couldn't wait for pudding later on, so I eating it for breakfast now Blush

GruffaloMama · 05/03/2011 15:27

Hi all - haven't been narrowboating but we did hire a boat on the Norfolk Broads for our honeymoon - was really lovely.

Liz that all sounds horrid - hope the cream is making it feel a bit better.

melly I'm podgy curvy too a (16/18) and my belly has disappeared but been replaced by a very solid bump - and only just 20 weeks. Given the amount I'm wolfing down I can't believe that I've lost the fat so I'm prepared for it to reappear after the birth. If it doesn't at least I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Off for my 20 week scan on Monday. My mum was supposed to come as well as DH but unfortunately she's had to go back to Dorset - she's been really unwell. Had made me a bit teary as she would have loved to be there. And she's been so sick over the lst year that I thought that she might finally be on the up.

Still, when I took DS upstairs for his nap earlier he snuggled into me, said 'lub you' and stroked my hair. Heart-breakingly lovely.

Melly19MummyToBe · 05/03/2011 18:40

Awww bless him thats so cute! How old is he? Thats a pity that your mum wasn't able to stay for your scan, at least you will be able to copy your pictures and send them to her though!

I got the best top ever today from new look, it says "Mummy In Training" on it :o thought it was ace so I just had to get it!

MadKatz · 05/03/2011 20:06

aaww melly where did you get that top? I've been looking for tops with things like that on for me and DH
