Bloody better fit in our car Iwish we've got a pick up lol (but it's like a car inside and the back bit has a 'boot' and is all carpeted like a car hence DH doesn't want it damaged!!)
Ah, your bump is lovely :)

Any news Melly?????

OP posts:
Iwish · 08/06/2011 19:38

Should fit in yours hopefully klou I have a Clio sport so it's like a little roller skate with a rocket strapped to it Grin. Not much space in the back but pram fits in the boot lol.
My bump looks lovely from the side but I just look like I should have a 'wide load' sticker stuck to my back and ass lol!

Oooh maybe melly has gone onto labour!! I got all excited then lol!!

KLou111 · 08/06/2011 19:48

lol roller skate with rocket ha ha!!

DH and I just went to the loo at the same time ha ha!! Have 2 loos all plumbed in now. Not far to go now in the night since the regular weeing has started again!!!

PUSH MELLY PUUUUUUUUUUUSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHH!! Grin

OP posts:
Iwish · 08/06/2011 19:59

Hahahahaha klou I thought you meant you actually went to the same loo at the same time!! My DP says he's going to wee through my legs when he's desperate to go and so am I Blush. I think not!!
Woohoo having it all plumbed in now. What else have you got left to do now?

BREATE MELLY BREATHE!!! hehe

I want some bad food! Chocolate or sweeties.

Melly19MummyToBe · 08/06/2011 20:24

Sorry to disappoint you both :o but I'm still pregnant and not in labour. Officially overdue :( She best hurry up! Seeing midwife on friday and (lucky me Hmm) I should get a sweep. Hope she doesn't come on saturday though, it's simons brothers 19th birthday and I reckon he would hate it if she was born on his birthday. Ooooh it's my birthday a week tomorrow :o I hope she's here by then!

Anyway, nuff about me, how is everybody else doing?

Iwish · 08/06/2011 21:10

Oh melly I got all excited! Lol. Let's hope she comes tomorrow, friday or Sunday then hehe.
You are going to come back and talk to us after poppy arrives aren't you?
What Is a sweep? Ive heard of it but don't know exactly what they do...

KLou111 · 09/06/2011 11:01

Oh Melly, was geting excited too!!

Glad you asked that Iwish!! I was wondering that too. Just found this

Well, I am really pissed off now. Flaming puppy (15 weeks) has become a right houdini and keeps going into the field at the back of our house. Long grass so can't really see her when she goes. It's not farmed or anything, just left, so we kind of use it as an extension to our garden. Anyway, all that is separating the field from us is 1 strand of barbed wire at about a foot high cos the farmer is a lazy sod. We've got bits of cattle fencing blocking off where she can get out, but she found a way. Anyway, just ran after her trying to get out, tripped over the barbed wire, and landed smack on my left side and on the left of bump. Now I am so worried. Have felt bubs slightly since (fell about 30 mins ago) but I am so Angry not just at puppy but at myself esp as I went in Monday due to lack of movements etc. I have been so careful too, but I just want baby out now as I am so scared of something going wrong!!

Still got lots to do. DH putting side of bath on while I'm on here. He's got to cut a bit out where the pipes are boxed in and he was a bit Hmm and not a cheap one but it'll be fine I'm sure. He's set in the shower tray in en-suite, but can't plumb in til the sink arrives, then got to tile in there, finish a bit in the bathroom which he can't do til the en-suite pipes are in.
Booked plasterer, but he can't come for another 2 weeks Monday. Once that's done I can paint the rooms and gloss all the doors. Also got to paint nursery, put in furniture.
Then DH wants to put proper wooden flooring and rugs in the lounge rather than carpet as he thinks it'll get trashed with new baby and the dogs. It'll look lovely, and better, but I'm just a bit concerned about the heat aspect of it, and got to order some new sofas for in there. Phew!!
Got little finishing bits to do too like skirting etc.

OP posts:
lizandlulu · 09/06/2011 17:37

how are you feeling now klou if you are worried go back to where you went on monday, they wont mind, dont sit at home worried.

we have real wood floor in our living room, its oak and quite light ,but i never thought once about the hating aspect of it. it just looks lovely, you can wipe up spills and just hoover the dust up from round the edgesGrin i dont walk about bare footed anyway so dont really notice if its cold. if fact we only have carpet in the bedrooms.

have been on lulu's school trip to help out today, i am pooped and ready for bed. the getting there was ok, the place was good, but the trip back was hell! all the kids were getting tired and mardy and very very loud. good job it was only 45 mins away

KLou111 · 09/06/2011 19:35

Well bubs seems to be OK, has been bouncing around all afternoon, and currently swirling around in there so assume all is well :) Meant to have my 31 week appt today but they couldn't fit me in so not there til next Thursday which is a shame as I would have told MW about my fall, but all seems OK.

Have decided on the wood floor. Found an oak one, wanted solid but because we live in an old barn and the floors are concrete, we have been advised to get engineered wood. Similar price, which is odd as would thought it would be cheaper, but moves less or something Hmm Anyway, the one we found matches the living room through to kitchen door and it's not shiny and slippy, it's more rough, (rustic I think is the term lol!)
We walk around in slippers in the winter anyway so hopefully won't be too bad. It's more practical and like you say you can wipe up spills baby sick etc, and we've got the dogs aswell so carpet would be trashed in a matter of months!! We'll have a couple of rugs so bubs can lie on them. It's all carpeted upstairs so that's nice to have.

Bet your head is ringing with all the noise Liz bet that's all you needed!!! Was it good though?

OP posts:
lizandlulu · 09/06/2011 20:30

ohh sounds lovely, i love love love mine and had to get it from 5 different topps tiles shops as it was on offer and our local shop didnt have enough, so they rounded up all they hadGrin

yes the place was really nice, alot better than i thought it would be, the kids got to touch snakes and reptiles and watch birds of prey shows.

the kids on the way home though needed their heads banging together. my lulu can be a stroppy sod at the best of time and she had shared her biscuits at dinner with one of her best friends, as long as they shared the friends biscuits on the way home. WELL the girl didnt want to share and ate one in front of lulu which caused major strops. when they are only 5 and not your kids you cant really say owt to them, but my heart went out to lulu who was sat cryingSad

i am just waiting for my well deserved chinese for tea. not had chinese for weeks and i cant bloody waitGrin

Melly19MummyToBe · 10/06/2011 08:41

Course I'll come back after she's born, got to share all the gory details with you haven't I? :o

Glad baby is ok Klou, naughty Bella Angry. The wood flooring sounds lovely, we have a wooden floor in our front room, they're the original floorboards all sanded and varnished. Quite nice but I think I'd prefer a carpet. But doubtful we'll ever get one though because the front door opens straight into this room and I reckon a carpet would get filthy after one winter.

School trip sounds fun like a nightmare Liz! Kids can be so mean to each other sometimes can't they!? Where did you go? Chinese sounds yum, I haven't had one for ages! Hope you enjoyed it Envy Oh and about feeding at lincoln hospital, I'm not sure. I do know that when my friend had a baby there 4 and half years ago they provided a bottle and formula as she didn't have any. I should think most hospitals provide it don't they? It's worth asking if you go there to look round, just to make sure.

lizandlulu · 10/06/2011 09:17

melly they did provide milk when i was there nearly 6 years ago, but didnt know if it had changed.they wernt very good at letting me know where they kept the bottles and things, probably in an attempt to get you to breastfeed and remember having to ask for them several times before being shown where they were kept/ they didnt provide nappies or wipes or anything like that. i remember having not packed any wipes (me being totally disorganised) and i had to clean her up with damp green paper towels. not nice. they didnt even have any cotton wool or anything.

i will have to check when i go for scan in 4 weeks.

and yest we went to woodside falconry and wildlife centre, just past lincoln on the road to skeg.

lizandlulu · 10/06/2011 12:19

i have just been thinking about my hospital bag and have realised that i am going to have to hire a tens machine. the one i thought i was going to use, borrowed from my dad, doesnt have the booster button on that you need in labour. it just sets at certain levels. it says on the box that its not suitable for pregnancy or labour andi wonderedcwhat the hell that was all aboutHmm

KLou111 · 10/06/2011 15:16

That' a bummer Liz about the tens machine. You were all sorted there so it's a pain you've now got to sort another one.
Lol to green paper towels! I suppose they would go through loads of packets in a year if they gave them to everyone, but you'd think they'd have some just in case.
Poor lulu and her biscuits, little bloody madam who didn't give her any!!

Our lounge has the front door too Melly that was another reason for the wood floor, although FIL is going to help DH build us a porch (hopefully before winter).
Any niggles yet??

OP posts:
Melly19MummyToBe · 10/06/2011 18:36

Nope no niggles! Just a few cramps which aren't really anything to get excited about. Didn't end up getting a sweep today, my usual midwife is off this week (who said I would get a sweep today) and I saw someone else who said they prefer to wait until you're a week overdue before they do it so it has more chance of working. So I'm booked in for one on tuesday. Also got my induction booked! 7:45am, sunday the 19th which is also fathers day. Quite weird that is really, my mum was booked for an induction with me on fathers day 1991 :o but she started off by herself the night before, and along came me at 4:30am on 16th june, fathers day :o

Thats a pain in the arse about the tens machine Liz! At least you realised before you got to the hospital and needed it though. You'd have been even more pissed off if you got it out and were told you weren't allowed to use it!

GruffaloMama · 11/06/2011 12:07

Hiya. Klou that naughty Bella. Glad baby is still reassuringly wiggly. I'm totally with the hard floors if you've got pets and small children thing. We have hard floors all down stairs and they are brilliant. It's even better when they (the children!) start eating solids as cleaning under the highchair is dead easy (or the dog does it for you - tee hee). We have a rug in the sitting room and I used play mats/baby duvets for DS to lie on when he was a tiddler.

Liz I got my tens from Amazon. It was only about £10 more to buy than to rent and I thought I could flog it afterwards/give it to a mate locally who's expecting after me. I got this one though it was a bit cheaper when I bought it. There are other ones though that are suitable for birth that are cheaper.

That's a lovely bump Iwish - you look gorgeous. Melly I hope the sweep works - do you have any plans for your last child free weekend?

I'm feeling like a bit of a heffalump at the moment. I've had a lot of braxton hicks and am really 'heavy' and tired. Two weeks left at work, though and then I can try to relax a bit more during the day (DS will be going to his Childminder as normal until the baby comes). Am going to pack my hospital bag this weekend. All starting to feel more real. As it should - am 34 weeks today!

hope you all have lovely weekends.

lizandlulu · 11/06/2011 22:17

evening all.

melly i have been to your home town again today! had to take my mate to pick up a washer as we have a pick up and it wouldnt go in her car. she got it from coop as they are the only coop that has electricals for some reason.
lulu had a whale of a time running through them water fountains in marshalls yard but then had to walk about in her knickers and a t shirt i had bought her as she got wet through. she did love it though.

gruffalo i am with you with the heavy feeling, i honestly dont know how much more i can stretch. when i have a meal i feel so strecthed and full its untrue.

i keep looking at my hospital bag list and keep putting it off. think i will do it this week while lulu is at school.

what you all doing with the rest of your weekends?

Iwish · 12/06/2011 17:09

Hi ladies. Hope you have all had a lovely weekend?

I'm shattered. We went to DPs sisters 40th birthday party last night and it was a hours drive away so didn't get home till about 1:45am. Had a rubbish sleep as I got up 3 times for the loo and dp was snoring and woke up with a horrid headache! We have been food shopping and have sat on the sofa the rest of the day lol.

Oooh and managed to get a little bargain yesterday. Went to Lidl and got one of those long strait pillows for £10! So nice to sleep with! Got some little bootees for bubba that say 50% mummy and 50% daddy from asda too.

What have you all been up to?

lizandlulu · 12/06/2011 18:34

those pillows are ace iwish i am managing with a normal one at the min but had one first time round and it was relly good. i gave it way though after i had her, i didnt think about using it againHmm

well we have been to sheffield today so dh can pick a stock car up, the plan was to drop me and lulu off at meadowhall first, but the que to get in was so long that i just said dont bother and we just went for dinner on the way back. been in since about 3 and made flapjack, done some colouring, watched nick jr and 3 bits of ironing. oh the joys of rain! its not stopped all afternoon.

Iwish · 12/06/2011 19:20

Heh it Is fab and for £10 a bargain. They sell for s lot more than that at places like mothercare etc. I have been stealing DPs pillow for the past few weeks but decided I would just go for it Grin

How far away from Sheffield are you? We went there a couple of months ago to pick up a lawnmower of all things and it took us about 2 hours. I've heard meadowhall is fab, similar to out Trafford centre but bigger I think.
We went to a local shop yesterday and my mum bought us some bedding for the cot and a mobile to match. We are going back in 2 weeks to order the furniture, a Moses basket and swing chair. Which all match too lol.

I know exactly what you mean about the rain, it's been throwing it down here all day and it's starting to get on my nerves. It'd rained every day for about 4 weeks now Angry.

lizandlulu · 12/06/2011 19:26

we are 45 miles away from sheffield, meadowhall is the best place ever. its abit old and tired looking now compared to trafford centre, but it has all the shops trafford centre has, plus more. the only downside is that the food area is abit rubbish, but its being redone now so should get better. i am sure my car could drive itself there we go that oftenGrin

whats the stuff like? what pattern?

KLou111 · 12/06/2011 19:57

Tell me about the sodding rain!!!! Doing my head in, although means we can see the TV as it's so dull lol!! Been a motoGP day and F1 day in our house :) Although a bit bored with the F1 as not only is it the same bloke winning every race, they've now delayed this one cos of the weather, so just been sitting here for the last hour waiting for a restart.
Hope it doesn't hang around too long this rain, bored of it now, although DH is loving it as means he's not missing any good weather while he does the house lol!

Glad you got a bargain pillow Iwish. I've not really been using mine, as I get really uncomfy lying on one side, so gave up with it. May start to use it again when bump gets a bit bigger (if it ever bloody does!!)

OP posts:
Iwish · 12/06/2011 20:52

Grin Liz at your car driving itself to meadowhall!
Its just cream with a bear on it. Its a mamas and papas set but it was last seasons pattern so got it half price at £50. Sounds expensive but it had a bumper, quilt and cover, light shade, curtains and tie backs, fleecy blanket and a teddy with it. The new design which isn't much different is £99!! This is the new collection www.mamasandpapas.com/range/bedtime-hugs/3195/

hi klou! At least the rain means you can persuade him to do the house Grin hopefully it will perk up by next weekend tho.
You are getting a nice little bump now! You can tell the difference between your pics. I feel huge already and everyone likes to tell me how much weight I've put on Angry

lizandlulu · 12/06/2011 21:08

iwish that sounds like a proper bargain!

KLou111 · 12/06/2011 21:31

That was a bargain Iwish!!!

Talking of bargains, just got some more nappy wraps for a bargain. Got 6 Motherease Rikki white medium wraps for £12 delivered!!! So that's bubs sorted now til s/he is 20lbs lol!

Baby is being a right fidget today and currently I am being booted in the right ribs and punched in the fairy!!! Or punched and booted the other way round IYKWIM!!

Any news Melly?????
