Melly19MummyToBe · 31/05/2011 11:49

Hello everyone! Sorry I haven't been on for ages, sorry to disappoint you all but I'm still heavily pregnant and still fed up. Thursday and Friday I spent the entire 2 days reading books, and haven't had time to come on over the weekend. 1 week to go, can't believe it!! Anyway I'm in a bit of a rush just on my way out, be back later xxx

lizandlulu · 31/05/2011 12:37

well melly consider this a warning! you must come on here at least once a day or there will be troubleGrin

at least its not scorching hot. there are laods of people moaning that its not nice weather for this time of year and it should be hotter. well i hope it stays as it is for the next 9 weeks anyway!

Melly19MummyToBe · 31/05/2011 14:32

Consider me warned :o

It's pretty warm here today, makes a change from yesterday, it rained almost non-stop! Apparantly it's going to get a lot hotter towards the end of the week which I'm not looking forward to. Nice and warm is ok for me!

Your furniture arrived yet Liz?

GruffaloMama · 31/05/2011 14:35

Hiya. Glad to hear you're ok Melly. Thought you'd snuck off and had poppy without mentioning it. I'm 32+3 now. Just had an antenatal at the hospital. All is fine so have been discharged as low risk. That's great as it means I can go to the midwife led birthing unit. Hurray!
Liz glad you are seeing the midwife about your leg. Hope it is all ok. Gotta go - on bus!

KLou111 · 31/05/2011 15:41

Yes, consider yourself warned Melly bloody hell, don't DO that!!

Beautiful here too. Done 2 loads of washing and managed to get them out after the crap weekend we had. Just done a baby wash too as bought some more new things :) I know I don't have to wash them, but I think it's nice to have them smelling nice ready for bubs :)

Klou you are so organised. V jealous... (though obviously my own fault for being lazy). I've managed to order a wardrobe for ds and we've nearly finished the decorating so will be able then to start on packing my hospital bag and working out what I want to change in the nursery. Not too much to do as we have the basics. But would like to freshmen it up with new curtains and that sort of thing.

Iwish - thought of you this weekend. My mum, though excited about the baby, was driving me loony by saying that I was soooo huge that the baby is clearly going to arrive any time. When I pointed out that it would be 2 months early and that's not great she still kept going on. Had to tell her she was upsetting me to get her to ease off. And when I went to the hospital today I am measuring spot on for dates. I think she thought she was being helpful but how it's helpful to suggest she thinks (with sod all medical training) that I'm going to have a massively early baby is beyond me...

lizandlulu · 31/05/2011 16:45

good news from the hospital gruffalo

well, showed teh midwife my leg and after looking at it for 2 seconds, she said its varicose veinsSad i am really peed off that i have them as they dont look anything like other varicose veins i have seen. still just look like bruises. i do have one on one leg and a tiny one on the other leg which have always been there though. dad has them really bad so its only to be expected i suppose.

she said to sit in the evenings with my legs up to take the weight off and drink more water. they might go after the birth but dont really know.

klou i am going to wash all my new baby stuff too, just the babygrows and vests i have. mum said it will soften them up abitSmile

i think i am going to pack my hospital bag at about 35 weeks and start the washing then

Iwish · 31/05/2011 18:08

You know I disappear for 2 minutes and look what happens!
melly was lost and presumed in labour! Looks like the girlies have given you a good enough telling off so I'll just give you my best mum look . Hope you aren't feeling too fed up. Maybe it's time for the ways to start labour if you are lol.

gruffalo woohoo for being given the ok at the hospital!! And bless you for thinking about me, you are sweet. I think mums think they have the all clear to say stuff like that to us when pregnant, good you put her strait tho. I told my mum I had booked my 4d scan. Guess what she said - NOTHING! she completely ignored me.

Liz Sad for the varicose veins, I'd there something you can do to make them better?
Did your furniture arrive?

klou awww yey for the baby clothes washing!! Bet you enjoyed that. I know I would. I've only got 4 sleep suits so no point washing anything yet lol!

Last night DP and I were lay in bed and bubba was kicking away. Every time I put DPs had on my belly bubba stopped kicking but last night DP just put his head on my belly not thinking anything of if and got about 4 big kicks in the head lol!! It was lovely that DP finally felt a kick and funny he kicked him in the head!! He Is getting strong now! Awww it was so lovely I nearly cried!! (emotional freak lol)

lizandlulu · 31/05/2011 21:27

no iwish it didnt bloody arrive! waited in all morning and never showed up. cause the people who made it are dads friends i didnt want to ring up and chase them, but now i wish i had as i dont have it and could do with it being here.

the midwife said all i can do is put my legs up to take the weight off them and drink more water.

yay for the baby kicking your dpGrin mine always stops too when dh puts his hand on me, although thats not very often. we are not getting on very well at the moment. hes just come back from a 5 day stag weekend and didnt even bring me a present. he said cause i dont wear perfume or need any creams or anything, there was nothing else to buy.

its really pissed me off as i would never come back empty handed, its the thought that counts and he left me to cope on my own for 5 days. i wanted a bloosy medal, never nind a box of sweets.(not that he actually does anything when he is here, so it wasnt really that different!)

Iwish · 31/05/2011 22:03

Liz I know what you mean about not wanting to chase them. I would be the same. Too nice the pair of us Grin
my nan keeps telling me off for sitting with my legs crossed, said I will get varicose veins. Hmmm. Keep your feet up on the sofa hehe.

Awww that's not nice, something little just as a souvenir would have been nice Angry I would have sulked at DP if he hadn't got me anything either. then again I would be thinking of something not to do for/get him!

Yeh it is lovely that little one decided to kick him (especially in the head - I trained him well hehe Wink).

Do you think you are not getting on because of the pregnancy or hornones or because he's not pulling his weight? Me and dp are definitly not getting on as well now as my hormones just make me cry/angry/worried about everything.

lizandlulu · 01/06/2011 08:51

i think its a combination of my hormones and his not pulling his weight. i am more mardy that i was, i know i am, but i just want things done right. i am not nesting as such, but want things to be neater and cleaner than they were and he just doesnt help at all. leaves his boots and clothes everywhere and just expects me to sort them out and magically appear clean and washed in his wardrobe

KLou111 · 01/06/2011 12:51

Aw Liz a box of chocs would've been nice. Yu're not alone though, my DH rarely ever bought me anything when he went away, but made it all the more nicer when he did :)
Sorry about your furniture :(

Iwish lol at the head kicking!! DH puts his hand on my belly and baby stops. They must know mustn't they!! DH also got booted in the head the other day (twice) as he was trying to hear bubba's HB, didn't hear it, he gave up as kept being kicked. Last night we were watching TV and bubba started moving around so we could see. It was VERY odd. Have seen movement before, but this was different, like there was an alien moving, not just the odd kick, it was a proper move IYSWIM?

Melly19MummyToBe · 01/06/2011 14:10

I think most babies must be like that, Poppy was when I started to feel her movements from the outside. She'd be moving loads and as soon as simon put his hand there to feel she would immediately stop. But she's got used to him now and is such a daddys girl already. She has a massive teenage-style strop (stomping around, probably would slam doors if there were any to slam) in the mornings when he gets up and goes to work, and when he gets home she does this happy little wiggle. It's so funny! And in the evenings he'll put his head on my belly to talk to her and she'll respond with wiggles and kicks like she's talking back to him :o Oh and sometimes she gets quite stroppy and active at night so I just roll over a bit and put my belly against simon and she calms right down :o

Gruffalo I bet you're so pleased! I'm so happy for you :)

Liz I don't know what to suggest about your DH, sounds like he needs a damn good kick up the arse to be honest! Maybe you could try that?

Iwish that was a very good 'mum look', it was very mumly :o love that pram by the way, lets hope you can find it in the flesh!

Klou how are you getting on with Bella? I bet the baby wash was even cuter than the nappy wash wasn't it? I took a picture of our airer with all the little pink vests and babygros hanging on it :o and a row of dinky white socks :o

My sister brought round a basket full of baby clothes last week and in it were a couple of outfits that were hers and then mine when we were babies :o can't believe I was ever that small!
Also can't believe I only have a couple of weeks left of being a teenager! I wonder if I'll end up being a teen mum or a young mum. All depends entirely on which side of june 16th she will be born on!

lizandlulu · 01/06/2011 17:05

my baby is moving more too rather than kicking. it does kick too but i can just sit on the sofa and feel part of its body move under my hand. its very strange. i cant decide if its lovely or wierdGrin its also kicking me in the bladder and sticking out my stomach at the same time.

are you doing anything nice for your birthday melly or have you not planned anything just in case? i havent even given mine a thought yet, it seems so far away but think its only 3 weeks

Melly19MummyToBe · 01/06/2011 17:17

To be honest Liz I've barely thought about it! My mum texted me earlier to ask me what I wanted and I was just like "errrrrm, no idea!" it's only 2 weeks actually, 2 weeks tomorrow! I don't think I'm going to plan anything really, I'll either be extremely pregnant, in labour, or just had a baby and totally exhausted. Think I'll just sit around all day and expect to be waited on hand and foot :o

How about you?

lizandlulu · 01/06/2011 17:59

melly that sounds like a bloody good plan to meGrin

i dont even know wha tday it is on. might treat myself to a massage though now i think about it.

Iwish · 01/06/2011 19:25

Liz Angry at your DH. Don't know what to suggest. Men are just useless!
Yeh treat yourself to a massage! That would be so nice and so relaxing. :)

Why thank you melly I have been practicing. I will need to use that look very often if Likkle one is like his daddy!
Would you rather be very pregnant and uncomfortable, in labour or nakered with a newborn on your birthday? Choices choices lol. My birthday is 18 days after bubba is due so I should defo be nakered with a newborn hehe.

klou it must be really wierd being able to see bubba move! Don't think I will see that anytime soon as I have a little extra padding Grin!
maybe our little ones hiding from daddy is a sign of things to come lol

DP has gone to get me ice-cream! Yum!

Melly19MummyToBe · 02/06/2011 12:33

Lol Liz it's a thursday :o go for that massage!

Iwish, I think I would rather be knackered with a newborn, at least then I'll get a card off her :o Simon said depending on when she's born, what he's got me for my birthday will either be off just him, or both of them :)
It doesn't matter if you have extra padding, a little or a lot! My step mum is a size 20 and you could see my little sister moving around in her belly, and I'm a 16 and always see lumps and bumps moving around. It just looks so weird! You have a thing for ice-cream don't you lol?

Iwish · 02/06/2011 17:31

Mmm yeh I like ice cream at the mo. And chocolate cereal! Oooh yey can't wait to see him move then! Can't wait to see a foot or a hand sticking out the side of my belly!
Awww yeh you can get a 'mummy' card! Best get practicing all those things to get her to come. Curry, sex lol!
How are you feeling now?

DPs mum is going to order the pram today I think, yey! Can't wait to see it. Think we are ordering the furniture in about 3 weeks too.

KLou111 · 02/06/2011 18:07

Neapolitan in the freezer here :) Although I'll prob only eat the chocolate lol! That drives DH mad!!

Good news on the pram Iwish :) Can't wait to order our furniture either, which hoping will be in a couple of weeks.

DH just finishing off the bathroom, with a little bit to do in the morning, and hoping to get our en-suite loo in tomorrow hurrah!! Can't wait to have a loo 'there' instead of walking across the landing. Never had an en-suite before, definitely miss having 2 loos though (used to have downstairs loo in old house).
Think he's going to have a go at plastering this weekend, as if he can't do it, will book in plasterer for a couple of weeks.
Ordered changing table from Argos today and changing mat for the top

30 weeks today, 3/4 and getting close now!!!!

OP posts:
Iwish · 02/06/2011 19:14

Yey pram ordered now!!
Ooh I'll have your strawberry ice-cream if your having chocolate lol! Sat here hoping ice-cream man is going to come now Grin
I wish we had 2 loos klou. We only have the one :(. And I'm sure the changing table will look fab in bubbas room.
can't believe you are 30 weeks already. Im 22+3 and wanting time to go faster!

Melly19MummyToBe · 02/06/2011 19:46

Our changing table is in the downstairs bathroom/utility room. Didn't think there was any point having one upstairs, it would only get used a few times in the night really! Just got a 'My Jungle Family' mat from mothercare for the nursery which will live in the wardrobe during the day.

I LOVE neopolitan ice cream, haven't had any for aaaaaaaages! No room in our freezer now though, it's all stocked up with frozen meals :o love mint choc chip aswell. oooooh [drool]

I'm just going to prep some strawberries that simon picked out the back garden earlier :o got a proper allotment thingy going on in our back garden lol!

I bet you can't wait for your pram to turn up Iwish! I can imagine you'll be test driving it all over the place haha :o

Gosh klou 30 weeks has soon crept up hasn't it!?! Won't be long and you'll be just as fed up as I am now lol, just waiting around for something, ANYTHING to happen!

KLou111 · 02/06/2011 19:55

oooooooo mint choc chip is my FAVOURITE!!! That's it, got to nip into Tesco to get some tomorrow now!! Love sorbet too but didn't have any when were in on monday.

Someone on another thread has just recommended this to help babies to sleep. Looks good to me! Think will be investing in one if any problems :)

Fingers crossed not too long melly lucky cow Wink

Iwish · 02/06/2011 20:32

Yeh melly I have given MIL strict orders to tell me when it arrives so I can ho round and have a play. Will test the seat in my little car and try putting it all in the boot.
And I'm sure something will happen v soon. As soon as you dissapear for a little while tho we will presume your in labour :)

I've seen those klou can't remember who told me about it but it looks good.

And re the ice-cream. DP is in the bad books - he wouldn't go and get me one!! The van parks practically outside my door and he wouldn't go!! I was in my nighty so no chance of me going out. Angry
