grouting? blimey you are being brave! i thought i was good fitting a new toilet seatGrin

the nappies were good! frogs sound cuteSmile

Melly19MummyToBe · 07/06/2011 14:47

Crikey 6lbs? And how many weeks are you now, 30 something?

I'm glad you like your pram Iwish, it would have been awful if you got it and it looked like lego :o
Simon won't let me unpack our pram yet, not entirely sure why Hmm I have had it out and had a little play when I first got it but haven't touched it since then! I have the carrycot out, but not the rest of it.

We love a good bargain on this thread don't we? :o That was a brilliant one Klou! Frogs do sound pretty cute, I have to agree with Liz on that one. Good luck with the grouting :o

Well it is officially D-Day, no signs yet. So it looks like we'll be going into extra time :( I hope she comes soon, I want cuddles! Don't know if I told you all this but if I end up being 12 days overdue and have to be induced, it will be on fathers day! That will be ace if she's born on that day, I was a fathers day baby :) Best present ever!

Melly19MummyToBe · 07/06/2011 14:48

Oh my 40 week bump pics are up now. Try and ignore my map lol!

GruffaloMama · 07/06/2011 14:51

Hi everyone. Klou really pleased all is okay and impressed at your grouting! I think I'm doing well to get up and down to manage my yoga exercises.

Am off work today as DS was sick yesterday at his childminder's. He's totally fine now but can't go back until tomorrow. Actually really glad to have the day off as I am VERY bored with work. Though obviously would rather it wasn't because DS had been ill Grin. We had a lovely weekend at the Wychwood festival. Camping was great - DS loved it and I slept better in the tent than I have been at home. Confused

liz wow 6lb... I hope the turning thing works okay. I guess there's still time for it to turn naturally, though if it's 6lb there'll be a bit less room for it to flip round.

Iwish the pram bit is really exciting. So glad you're enjoying it. When is your due date? I've got to get mine down from the loft along with the baby clothes for washing etc. DH will have to do it at the weekend. I'm feeling a bit better as I've bought some first size nappies and maternity pads. So will actually pack my hospital bag this weekend!!! Will be 34 weeks by then. Aaargghhh!

Melly how's it going? V excited for you.

GruffaloMama · 07/06/2011 14:53

Sorry Melly cross post - glad you're okay.

lizandlulu · 07/06/2011 16:34

wow melly thats some bump you have thereGrin not too unlike mine and i have 8 weeksBlush to go!

yes i do think there is a difference between the bottom 2 pics, you look alot bigger in the bottom one but might just be the way you are stood?

dont worry about the mapGrin i am sure they will fade over time. i am getting a map on my left leg! i found at least 2 lumpy varicose veins last nightSad proper ones, not just the bruise like marks i have on the front of my leg. chris kindly pointed out the one on the back of my leg that i didnt even know was there, but he seemed very sympathetic. i sailed through my first pregnancy really, apart from sickness and heartburn, it didnt leave and actual marks on me (apart from stretch marks, but they were there before i got pg!)

gruffalo glad your ds is better now, there is nothing worse than when they are ill. camping sounds fun! although hope you had good weather.

KLou111 · 07/06/2011 18:07

Glad your DS OK Gruffalo :)

Love the pic Melly, not long now!!
I will have to put my update on did one Sunday (30+3).

Well grouting was a success and meant DH could get on with ensuite. He's just taken Bella for her first class at 'school' so he couldn't quite get the loo plumbed in, so we'll have a 2nd loo tomorrow hurrah!!

Just running a bath. All I need is a glass of wine!!

Bump pic up, feel huge now :)

OP posts:
lizandlulu · 07/06/2011 18:51

wow klou you are so so so bloody lucky! i know you probably feel huge, but you look so well and not a mark in sight

Iwish · 07/06/2011 19:35

I dissapear for 2 minutes and you have a good old natter!

melly you will get to have a play with yours very soon when little maddam arrives! Any day now hopefully. Bet you can't wait for a cuddle :) would be lovely if she arrived on fathers day wouldn't it. What a nice gift that would be.
Your bump does look bigger on the second pic. Time for her to make an appearance I think!
Yeh luckily it seems really well made and solid. I would cry if it was rubbish when it arrived. I loved playing with it. Can't wait to have my little man in it.

gruffalo glad your DS is better. Bet he loved the camping. Strange you had a better kip there tho Grin
My due date Is 3rd October, can't come soon enough lol!
We have 3 boxes of newborn nappies up to now. We are going to get a few different sizes so hopefully we will be prepared (well a bit prepared)

Very nice of your DH to point out the veins liz Shock. My dp pointed out my stretch marks and I was v upset with him. Told him he should have kept his gob shut!

klou your bump is lovely. Like Liz says not a mark in sight!
I feel like a horrible fat heffer at the moment. Was sulking go DP last night that I look awful.

My little chicken Is doing s lot of wiggling tonight. I love it.

KLou111 · 07/06/2011 19:47

yeah yeah. I feel massive!! But still feel small for weeks if that makes sense??
DH said he can't wait to be able to get near me and give me a proper cuddle lol! He's scared of squashing the bump!
Bubs has been moving constantly since I went in to the hospital, as though s/he knows s/he was being naughty not moving!!

DH still not back from doggy school, am starving!!! Got a curry on the go, think will just bloody have mine lol!

I found ours really solid too Iwish think we did good there :)

OP posts:
Iwish · 07/06/2011 20:09

U just have your curry klou. You and bubba are hungry hehe.
You got the slalom didn't you? We did v well considering we never actually saw them! Did you get the matrix carseat/carrycot with yours?

lizandlulu · 07/06/2011 20:20

iwish 3 boxes!!wow, it can get confusing tho looking at all the different sorts. some of the newborn size have a cut out bit at the front to allow the umbilical cord to breathe, i am not sure which tho, think it night be huggies.

klou does it say in your notes how big you are measuring? i am massive but have been measuring a week behind right up till last week when i measured spot on. i cant understand how i can be so big and not be measuring bigger.

melly whats lincolns policy on feeding? i am bottle feeding and i dont know if i have got to take my own bottles and formula or not. i didnt last time but thats just cause i wasnt prepared at all, i only just managed to take nappies!

Iwish · 07/06/2011 20:31

Yeh I got 3 boxes, they have 80 nappies in each box. They were on offer at asda £9 instead if £14 so got a box a week for the last few weeks. Got 4 packs of wipes too. Don't know how long he will be in newborn tho so don't know how many boxes to get. I was thinking about opening them and having a nosey at how tiny they are lol. Didn't know some had little holes cut out!
Maybe you have a lot of water. My mum tells me she was massive with me but had loads of water. I was the cleanest baby in the hospital aparently lol Blush

lizandlulu · 07/06/2011 21:41

are they asda own brand? i used them alot with lulu and found them to be one of the best i tried. i couldnt get on with pampers. always leaked. a few people have told me pampers are better for boys than girls but dont know how true that it. i wouldnt buy them again tho, just from past experience.

so i ialways used asda own, huggies, sometimes morrisons own and when she got older, aldi own were also good. i dont usually shop there but used to make a special trip just for the nappies!

GruffaloMama · 07/06/2011 22:05

Hiya. I used Pampers with DS as Huggies and everything else always leaked Grin. He did have a very explosive bum though!!! The first time I went to our post natal group he pooed all over himself and me. And I mean all over!!! Blush

Liz my bump is massive compared to other mums I know locally but I'm measuring spot on for dates too. It is weird isn't it? At the festival at the weekend several people stopped me and made really odd comments:
"Of course there is more than one in there, isn't there? I've never seen a bump as big as that since I had my 9lb12oz baby."
"I feel so sorry for you" (totally random woman wandering up to me with no intro) (I was actually feeling pretty good until she said that!)
And a bloke who came up and asked when the baby was due as he had a bet on with his wife about whether she or I was more pregnant. It turns out I was.

People are properly odd aren't they?

I hope the curry was good klou and that Bella liked her puppy class. Melly it's a great bump - and if it's any consolation the marks really do fade and I haven't got any new ones with this baby (so far anyway!).

lizandlulu · 07/06/2011 22:23

maybe the pampers/boys thing is right then?

i just got chris to take a pic of meSmile will put it on now

Iwish · 08/06/2011 08:27

They are pampers I have got Liz. Hopefully they will be ok for Likkle man, let's hope do anyway hehe. Your bump ls lovely too! I took one on Monday so I will try and put it up tonight.

gruffalo Shock at your DS pooing all over you at the group!! Think I might put clothes for me in the changing bag Grin
and how rude of people to say those things. It really makes me mad. People say to me now that am massive! Angry

Uurrgh work at 9:30. Would rather stay at home!!

KLou111 · 08/06/2011 11:12

Have any of you got your free box of huggies from Asda mother and baby group??? You get 27 nappies, wipes and a hat :) Got DH to sign up too so we can get another box lol! I'm planning to use washables, but have a stock of huggies for the very start lol! Know someone that works for Kimberly Clark so have loads of freebies of wipes, newborn nappies, little swimmers (bubs will be going in the pool asap) and an andrex puppy teddy :)
Went to claim my free nappies off that website not sure if you remember, but they sodding wiped me off, tossers!! Might email them and give them hell!

Not any measurements in my book Liz but I was measuring 25cm at 29 weeks, and MW didn't seem too concerned. Think maybe it's cos of first baby so not as big, although I'll prob explode at some point!

lol a the poo Gruff

Yes got the matrix light Iwish, but DH told me am not allowed to try it in the car until he's sorted a cover for the leather seats lol! A friend told us that car seats trash leather if you put them on direct, so of course he's worried now!!
I keep getting it all out of the box though and playing :)

DH not come home til 10pm so had my curry in the end. He really enjoyed going (it's straight across a few fields from our house) so he'll go every Tuesday evening now. The guy knows the farmer who owns the fields around where we live, we would like to buy the one out the back (farmer went bust, we live in one of the barns where he used to farm before he sold to a developer, but still owns the land) and the guy said just ask him, you never know. He doesn't farm the land or anything, it just sits, and we walk the dogs around them, so would be good if we could get our hands on it!

right, just a quick update from me! just had EON on the phone, the meter test results say the meter is running slowShock so they are saying that we have used MORE than £6200 in a year!!!!!! i have told them to test it again, there must be some mistake. is it is faulty, even though it is supposedly in our favour, i have been refunded the £93 it cost to test it, so will just have to pay again to do antoehr test.

i will wait till they get the outcome of this next test and if its the same, i am going to citizens advice.

just what you dont needSad

KLou111 · 08/06/2011 13:32

Sorry Liz :(
I'd have the meter checked that it's imperial rather than metric (or it may be the other way around). There was a thing on watchdog a while ago that people had meters in one and being charged for the other therefore had really high bills!! It's like being charged in miles and your meter is in in kilometers if that makes sense??? Basically bills were around 1.5 times what they should be.

OP posts:
lizandlulu · 08/06/2011 16:26

ohh thank you klou i will look into that. its really getting me down. i dont owe anyone any money apart from abit of mortgage on the land we bought, but never have any debtsSad

on a lighter note, hows your boobies? still leaking? i keep feeling a damp sensation, but when i feel, there is nothing there, very strange!

KLou111 · 08/06/2011 18:02

Boobies leaking if squeezed lol!! but not had any damp patches on clothes or bed for a couple of weeks now :)

OP posts:
Iwish · 08/06/2011 18:44

Klou I had to try the car seat in my car to make sure it would fit lol! DP keeps telling me my car is not practical for a baby and i should get a different one! I like my car!! The seat is bigger than a normal seat i think tho so i did struggle getting it in the car. Got no chance having DP in the front and little one behind any of us. We would need to go in DPs car if we all went out. Love it tho. Lol at the nipples! im sure i have it all to come.

Liz that sucks about EON. Like Klou said have the meter checked and hopefully they should find its all wrong.

Ive just uploaded my 23 week pic i took on monday. DP has decided to take up golf so is at a driving range at the moment so im relaxing having some little kicks off bubba :)
