Still here. Still fat and grumpy and bad company so lurking rather than spreading the angst. Still waiting and getting lots of false starts. Expect me to still be here in a fortnight when they'll insist on an induction. Little sod won't even engage - it bounces in and out of me pelvis.

grump...

Happy hoping you get there first in a funny way! It's no fun by now.

Good weekends to all x

toomuchteaching · 27/11/2010 18:12

Oh Unbuff I was hoping you'd be busy!! Fingers crossed it happens soon. And to everyone else who's so close... exciting times!

clareanna I just can't get properly comfortable, I've got a pillow between my legs (although not a fancy Mr Blue I admit!) but to be honest I think whenever I turn over manoeuvring the pillow into a new position wakes me up even more. At least I'm not going to the loo every 5 minutes. I suppose I'd better get used to it. I feel like I get my best sleep for an hour in the afternoon, but obviously that's not happening with work. Am soooo jealous of your holiday, and you too Viv, I don't like the cold.

SamB and sparkly if I can keep going til the end of term my ML can start on 4th Jan (with a due date of 5th) which is so much better for pay, time etc. as the Christmas hols won't count. I'm lucky that as SENCo I don't have a heavy teaching load so I'm not on my feet too much, but I do have loads of SEN/EAL reviews to do before the end of term, and a really big handover to a totally inexperienced cover as we're due OFSTED anytime, so it's still really busy. Sorry non-teachers - although I could've been more acronym-tastic with ease!

Thanks so much for bunting Gi1da, went out for dinner last night, it was lovely, and somehow I managed to shove 3 courses in (with a bit of a pause between each one to make room) yum yum! Grin

Welcome back Moo fab news... hope it's a quiet time ahead for you. And welcome purplehib (is it because of the book? One of my favourites), I just about managed to wait until 8+3 for my scan (though it was really hard) but was so glad I did - good luck! Apples and crochet hope the weekend wait is going ok, keep busy, it'll be time soon.

Hope everyone else is well, waves to everyone I've missed.

Muser · 27/11/2010 18:57

toomuchteaching I bought a body pillow from Ebay, not a fancy pregnancy one, just a 5ft long pillow. Cost £18 with postage. Because it's long I can put it between my ankles, knees, under the bump and up to my chin. I end up cuddling it. Much easier to turn over as you don't need to readjust things as you can just grip it with your knees and arms. I adore it.

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 27/11/2010 19:09

Just a quickie from me as I am off to catch up on some zzzzzzzzz as I spent last night and today in hospital as I was short of breath and had chest pains last night. They were concerned it may be a PE but all signs pointed to strain on my chest probably from too much work etc. Spiderbabies are fine and performed all night and all day, just the mothership that needs a service!

Buffs hang in there lady! xxxx

StickThemWithThePointyEnd · 27/11/2010 20:39

eeek magic. glad it turned out not to be a PE. I had one early on (8ish weeks) and I'm still on heparine injections. owww. sorry you had to spend that time in hospital.

buffy hang in there, baby will come out soon :) and remember, they aren't false starts, every BH does something to prep your uterus and cervix.

moo HIIII!

muser I have one of those, too. I love it. Grin. DH says it gets more action than him . hehehe.

thanks for all the well wishes. I haven't felt this ill since I had hyperemesis with DS. absolutely vile.
Had regular baby check and my lovely GP even came out one evening to check on me because I was getting dehydrated. With her ~goodie bag~ - a hydrating IV Hmm
feeling infinitely better now I'm not puking every time I breathe. But I shall be abstaining from cheap ice cream from now on.
Still catching up on the tiredness, but I'm getting there.

I'm a bit :( tonight. Had a big fight with DH earlier, and he called me horrible things. He said I was a worthless piece of f*ck and deserve to be sat at the bottom of a deep hole until I pull my head out of my arse. All that because I was sitting on the sofa with DS instead of letting DS run all over the underlay he was trying to put down (and I wasn't helping). Not sure how to forgive him for this..

HappyGirl1 · 27/11/2010 23:31

Oh Ivy that sounds like a rough evening but emotions are running high in your household, just try to remember you both love each other lots, have made a lovely little baby and hopefully maybe after some sleep you will both feel better and DH will apologise to you. I feel sorry for you that's hard.

Unbuffy keep going.. it'll be worth it in the end to meet your gorgeous little baby.. I can empathise though as I'm getting rather impatient myself although I know I've got a while to go yet. Are you geting BH/Contractions? That's what confuses me, like they start, you think it's "it" and then subsides. Really hope you get natural movement soon soon soon. Got fingers crossed for you.

Alba glad to hear you feel better too.

Magic you poor thing, glad to hear all is well now though that's good news and good that babies are both doing well too Smile. Get lots of rest.

Okay well might try to get some sleep now. These crazy dreams make me think I've run a marathon when I wake up.

I'm still here, snowed in, running out of food and Tesco have no deliveries for another few days so DH going to have to for a big walk tomorrow to get in some supplies. This weather is meant to continue though for a week which is a wee bit worrying. Alba thanks re the info re the army - how dramatic would that be! I think once we get out to the main road we would fine but I say that having not been out there in a few days so who knows. I was relatively calm about all this but having heard the news it could go on another week it's bit like eeeeek!

purplehibiscus · 28/11/2010 08:22

VivClicquot, CaribouMoo, HappyGirl1, and toomuchteaching thanks you so so much for the welcome and reassuring words. It makes a world of difference I assure you.

toomuchteaching purple hibiscus is quite literal i am afraid, as i love drinking hibiscus tea :) In fact I am sat with one right now:)

Happygirl1 An army assisted delivery would be rather dramatic but hopefully it won't have to come to that:) good luck!

Unbuffy all the best with the next few days.

Magic glad you are feeling better!

Ivy I am sorry to hear about the stress with DH. Wishing you strength and patience!
and wishing all a warm Sunday.

louisesh · 28/11/2010 09:34

Not posting too pissed off, sad, angry, fed up , jealous and a whole range of other emotions that are all she. Soo fed up of this whole f+ing nightmare it's Soo unfair and I or Georgie didn t :/ don't deserve it.

malteser1981 · 28/11/2010 11:55

Louise - how right you are, you don't deserve it. Wish I had some fabulous reassuring words to make you feel better. Chin up, we are all behind you.

Magic - glad to hear you and double trouble are ok.

Ivy - men are the limit arent they? My DH went out for a few pints with the lads ( last chance and all that) and came home steaming drunk, 4 hrs late in a blizzard whilst I was having kittens at home alone in over a foot of snow. And then he couldn't understand why I was angry. Said I was a miserable bitch! Ha ha. This was shortly followed by remorse and begging, hope your DH does some grovelling soon!

As for me, a little bit of knowledge is never a good thing. Woke up this morning quite oedematous, it's the first time I've had even a bit of swelling and instead of the gradual progression I seem to have blown up overnight. Half an hour to get my rings off (they were fine before bed) and my face and legs are also a bit puffy. No headaches, visual disturbances, epigastirc pain or any other symptoms of PET, but of course I've still diagnosed myself with it! BP has always been perfect so I'll just get it checked tomorrow at the clinic. Just something else to worry about.
As you've seen on the news the NE is snowed in, my DH is currently trying to dig the car out. 15 inches of snow here. The PERFECT conditions for a home birth? I think not.

But hey, could be worse right? I could be joining Happygirl in the helicopter!

Have a good sunday all xx

HappyGirl1 · 28/11/2010 12:23

Malteser although it's something to worry about, it's good that you are on top of the symptoms and can get it checked out tomorrow, hopefully it's okay. Hopefully it's just normal end of pregnancy symptoms.

I don't think there has been more snow here in the NE overnight thank goodness but apparently more on the way. Fun and games! Currently my 4th day not having stepped out of the house - I'm trying hard not to go stir crazy!

Hope everyone has a warm and cosy Sunday.

HappyGirl1 · 28/11/2010 12:24

So much snow here and now thunder and lightening. Getting really bad headaches in the last hour and just want the darkness.

Hope everyone is feeling well and unbuffy thinking of you lots and sending u labour vibes x

SamanthaB123 · 29/11/2010 00:18

Good evening... And good morning, which it will be by the time I actually post the message. It's really cold here although we are snowless. I quite fancy a dusting, it's not like I have to go anywhere is it! We might get some this week according to the forecast. All is well in Sam's World although we do have thrush again. Back to the doctors tomorrow then. I'm really sore and have had to dig out the nipple shields. It does make feeding outside of the house much more tricky. DD1 isn't very well so will be at home tomorrow, she is all flu-y. In the nicest way I want to keep her away from Ruby so that she doesn't share her germs by accident. Ruby is working very hard on smiling. She's been doing it for a while nut they are getting bigger and bigger. She smiles at pretty much anything, doors, walls, chairs but the biggest smiles are for us! She looks divine with it and has begun to makes cooing sounds with the smiles. What a sheer delight. We went into London on Saturday and managed lunch at Jamies and tea at the Covent Garden Hotel. Ruby was a star and wooed everyone she smiled at (whoever they were!). Right, that's all the news here, I am going to post and then name check with the next feed!

SamanthaB123 · 29/11/2010 02:50

I an too tired to name check with this feed Sad - can I wave wildly and be forgiven? My eyes keep closing...

OP posts:
Gi1da · 29/11/2010 05:06

Morning SamB! Just practising a little noctural posting in prep for feeding! Must have woken from a strange dream as all a little confused, but hope to be back zedding soon (zzzzzz). Sorry to hear about the thrush, that must be very ouch. What can they offer you for it? Ruby sounds just wonderful. Lovely that you had a great day out on Saturday. I used to work (how weird it sounds in past tense) just by Covent Garden hotel, looking forward to going back as a visitor rather than being on duty. Going back for acupuncure in Neal's Yard on Wednesday with an early appointment so will be on the commuting cattle train again. Have only had one week off so far but feels like ages ago that I did it every day!

Random question, am I mad to consider adopting a cat at 36 weeks dufferoo? Am definately going to adopt in the coming months, was going to sensibly wait till baby was here, just that one who looks rather perfect, and is apparently excellent with children has just come up at local homing charity. Have had cats before, just worried about toxomoplasmia (?). I know several of you have charming kitties Smile so it is obviously possible to combine cats and babies. Presumably you keep a cat in for a little while as it readjusts to new home so would need a litter tray for a short while before it goes out?

Hmm eyes getting bleary, will wrap up before I start posting weird things.

Loopsy how lovely! Congratulations on more pinkness for your family. Poor DH! Smile

Buffs hope you are managing to stay cheery? A big dose of Humph for you! x

Ivy and Malteser hope you are both feeling better, and to Happy and anyone else in Narnia, hope the snow doesn't cause you any problems.

Louise sorry things are so shite. Sad

Nightie night all.

Gi1da · 29/11/2010 05:12

Oh and MagicSpiderMum take it easy and look after yourself. Remember you are very busy on the inside so no need to be busy on the outside!

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 29/11/2010 09:50

Thanks for your well wishes ladies. Spent the day in bed yesterday and feel much better for it. I have told 2 of my parents that I can no longer look after their children due to lifting with immediate effect and they have both been fine about it. Just have 2 left on my books so down to 2 days per week (they are both fairly independent and able). Shall be sorting out my accounts this week for MA.

Freeeeeeeezing this morn! Thankfully we have missed the snow.......SO far..........although I feel cheated that we have had nothing Narnia like....but purely for selfish reasons in that DH & DD will have to stay home. Those of you with the white stuff please please take care and keep warm x

Gi1da as long as you stay away from tray litter tray I wouldn't worry about the toxoplasmosis. The puss might be a bit miffed though if he only gets a week or so with you before miniGi1da arrives & might protest.......but then it could do this anyway if you have had the cat for years! What do the adoption bods suggest?

Lovely news on girl numero 4 Loops! Your snow twins story Shock I am petrified we will have a dumping of snow and get stuck........we are all main roads mostly to my hospital but Confused still!!!!

Morning Sam I hope you got some shut eye!

Try not to worry Malteser good luck at the clinic today.

Hugs to Louise

Unbuffy · 29/11/2010 09:57

Hi all

Another quickie I am afraid, I've become really quite crap at posting since sitting in one place for any length of time ahs become sooo uncomfortable. Please miss may i be excused from a major namecheck?!

Waves at all you snowbound folks - we just have ice and a dusting on the hills so not too bad - although i'm not convinced they've gritted anywhere. Feeling much sympathy though as even ice is bad enough and we have been snowed in the last 2 Januarys!

Hello everyone else, have kept up, really, but brian really not engaged and doesn't always make the right connections and I'm bound to say something wrong/offend someone/etc. But special waves to Happy and hope it's going better for you... sending happylabourvibes your way! Can't believe we're all so far along, where has all the time gone?

So I'm in slow-motion labour I reckon, lots of contractions (either real or branston I dunno) in back, lower abdo and top of bump... but a long time apart! Keep thinknig 'this is it' and then they all fizzle out for another few hours. They are getting stronger as the days go by, so who knows, the little so-and-so might actually make an appearance at some point. Timeclock says 9 days until medical intervention, come on baby! Anyone any ideas on what I should be doing/expecting at the moment? Ah well.

Right, back after break for bending over and breathing... Nesting has halted due to boredom and immobility, baking has taken over. I'm off to make mince pies (have already done cakes, biscuits and jam tarts in the past 24 hours, plus planning extra-complicated suppers to try to invoke sod's law - ie, make something extra special and won't get a chance to eat it). Will leave a big plate of warm pies on the table for you ladies when done!

xx

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 29/11/2010 10:01

Ah bakerbuffs was thinking about you but didn't want to do that "Any news yet???" Sounds like something could be happening xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Unbuffy · 29/11/2010 10:01

ps ended up not such a quickie as it took nearly an hour with breaks to write! Just saw the list today and noticed that everyone until Bunny is on number 1 baby (as dd was breech/elcs she don't count in some ways) so all of us are in the same boat re labour... Best of luck to all of us!

Unbuffy · 29/11/2010 10:05

Hi magicdouble8, Don't mind you ladies asking but if my ruddy mother phones up ONCE MORE i will start getting VERY FED UP! She's panicked because she's never done labour, she had 4 (!!!) caesars. She comes up with useful comments like, 'why don't you just go into hospital and have an epidural straight away, just in case?'. ARRRRGGGHHH, bite tongue.
Now, must go make those pies, they are calling to me...

sparklyrainbow · 29/11/2010 10:09

Apologies for any mistakes in the list ^, very hard to add on two days! Hmm

Had a busy weekend supervising helping DH decorate the living room. Finally it's done and we are getting a nice comfy sofa delivered on Thursday so I will be able to sit and be supported better for (hopeful) nursing. Beginning to feel slightly more prepared for this baby now...

On the mat clothes front, have nicked a jumper from DH (not sure he's noticed yet though I've been wearing it Hmm) and have a borrowed dress in a bigger size from a recently preggers friend so should be ok-ish. My problem is bump is all at the front (literally, I've had strangers commenting how I don't look preg at all from the back). Have lost weight from everywhere except bump and boobs so very much hoping I'll shrink quite quickly afterwards Grin

Gilda agree with Magic, what do the rescue say? I'm not a cat person so have no ideas!
Congrats on another girl Loopy, your poor DH!
Hope you feel better soon Malteser.

Buffs and Happy all the best and positive labour fairydust your way. But not any more snow...

Hugs to Louise

x

sparklyrainbow · 29/11/2010 10:13

That took me ages to write- enjoy your baking buffs. My mum has just started to remember lots of things about her pregnancies and labour, having claimed a few months ago she couldn't remember anything, and saves them up to tell me when she phones. On the plus side she has confirmed I came at 38w and my brother at almost 37 so it would be quite nice if that runs in the family...
