sorry, meant to say, no risk so long as labour starts. Why are they concerned about levels? If they were good today, no reason why you won't labour well. x

Gi1da · 07/01/2011 22:32

Thanks Lia, really appreciated.

Not quite sure why the consultant wanted to make sure baby had enough water, but was one of the things on the checklist today to let me keep going +42. Feel like I had a good MOT today. Getting excited now! (No more symptoms yet just same pressures Smile )

Ham anyone? xx

Winks at Jolls

GLB just read in prima baby that royal mint are giving away a free commemorative silver coin to Christmas day babies. Closing date to apply is 31 jan. If you're interested and you can't get hold of the mag (dec issue) PM me and I'll post it to you

gi1da pork at the ready here... Loving the image of jolls with a big fat cigar ready to go!

Gi1da · 08/01/2011 00:44

Midwife has been out to check me over and yes it is finally labour! Off to try and get some rest and hopefully tomorrow will be the day.

Just want to say again how much I appreciate you all xxx

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 08/01/2011 02:59

Bloody wide awake, heartburn, foot (at least one) under rib, bloody foxes, rain, burglar alarms and birds singing!

BUT looks like it is kicking off ladies so very glad I am MNing at ridiculous o clock! Huge baby influx ahoy!:)

Exciting! Hope you get some rest Gi1da :) x

Great news Ladybee we are here to help get you through the terrifying times look how many ladies have done it ;) already x Have you been to your GP to ask for a prescription/referral/early scan?

Hey Buffs!

Redheadgal · 08/01/2011 06:13

Gah 6am on Saturday morning and joining Magic for the night shift. Backache has disappeared (thanks to a lovely massage from DH - although I sort of wish it had stayed). Rain, wind and a scared cat have left me awake for the past two hours.

Gi1da - how exciting!! Overjoyed that something appears to be happening at last. Fingers crossed for tomorrow!

LadyBee - lovely to have you back!

OrangeGloss · 08/01/2011 07:39

Gi1da how exciting! I hope you got some rest Grin

crochetcircle · 08/01/2011 08:27

Wow ladies - so much going on here I can't actually keep up!

Offering massive words of encouragement to the ladies who's babies are nearly out. You can do it!!! I'm very excited tapping away at my keyboard!

Also words of encouragement to the ladies who've joined us recently - congratulations and good luck for the coming weeks. This thread definitely helped me through the first 12 weeks.

No news from me really - apart from that I am finally feeling great - am I finally blooming? I plan to enjoy it while it lasts! I tried pregnancy aquarobics this week. It was amazing. I was the least pregnant lady there by some weeks, but it was exactly the kind of exercise I've been looking for.

I'm thinking of keeping my gym membership for the rest of this month and then taking a few months off. I work full time and until recently I've been so tired that I never make it to the gym. It probably works out at 30 quid per visit which hurts me!!!

Did anyone keep exercising well into second/third trimester? What worked for you?

Redheadgal · 08/01/2011 09:34

Hi crochet i found exercise really beneficial but went into the second/third trimesters feeling really unfit (two first trimesters back to back when I didn't feel like doing any exercise whatsoever). Since August I've been getting back into it - trying to go to aquanatal classes at least once a week and doing pregnancy yoga. I even managed a couple of months of spinning classes till I got so big. Lately I've been swimming which has been really enjoyable. The Active Birth yoga has been brilliant so I'd recommend finding a class in your area. In fact I'm off to yoga this morning to try to encourage this bubba to shift on out ;-) Hope that helps.

Muser · 08/01/2011 10:10

How exciting Gilda! It could be your baby's birth day today. Wheee!

crochet I tried to keep running during pregnancy but found it hurt my pelvis too much. I now try to walk every day, just to keep mobile, and I go to pilates once a week. I felt too sick most of the time for gym classes.

AlbaDeTamble · 08/01/2011 10:11

I was up in the night too listening to the storm and drinking tea and feeling jealous of Gilda... I hope she's having an easy labour, or cuddling her baby now...

Another long walk for me today, and some running after DS on his new bike

Unbuffy · 08/01/2011 10:25

oooh, lots of excitement here today, has really cheered me up after looong and sleepless night with coughing snotty baby cluster/comfort feeding and lots of throwing up (him not me!)

Pompoms and champers at the ready...

Alba hot curry and sex Blush the night before started things of a lot more after me prolonged start, and walking and baths on the Thursday made it all stronger (and me waters break). So fingers all crossed for you today too (explains bad typing)

GO GO GILDA* ~#~#~#~#~#~ (bunting all ready)

NewImprovedJollster · 08/01/2011 11:34

disclaimer - drinks LOTS of fizz (given the chance)

Unbuffy · 08/01/2011 11:45

Me too Jolls... and i CAN (a bit) now! Hoorah!

Gi1da · 08/01/2011 11:46

Gosh sounds like there was a lot of disturbed sleep last night! Am still here, bit spaced out through only short snatches of sleep but less happening now. Grrr! Think it's going to be a long haul.

Glad I did the hypnotherapy cd, it definately kept me calm through last night's contractions. Also will recommend yoga for learning good positions to rest in and shift weight about, and some good breathing techniques too.

Did anyone catch Martin Clunes program on manta rays? In my slightly hallucinogenic sleep I was visualising a manta ray gliding through the water as I breathed through the waves of pressure. Wonder what sort of cigar it was Jolls has been smoking, think I had some too! Smile

WestY no pool here, but may use bath.

Damn forgotten my replies, wishing peaceful laboury vibes to Alba, Toomt, Redhead Smile

Mad big wave to Buffs

thanks to all for encouragement.

Orange hoping things are going well for you and hope to see you in this state in 9 months!!

littlemiss72 · 08/01/2011 11:50

Go Gi1da, I'm so excited for you! Hope things keep going, breathe through the waves!

Oooh how exciting.

I love this thread!

NewImprovedJollster · 08/01/2011 15:47

disclaimer; IRL wouldn't really be offering these round... JOLLSTER DOESN'T SHARE FOOD (a funny for any Friends fans).

Unbuffy · 08/01/2011 15:54

Got Christmas stilton to add to the picnic - any takers?

(dd (just 2) insisted on trying some, and gherkins, and pickled onions over Christmas. Not sure of the result, ate but did not ask for more... but she did demand smoked salmon for breakfast the other day!!! I blame her Granny for spoiling her...)

Watching for updates, room for a fatty on the sofa?

VivClicquot · 08/01/2011 17:01

Oooooh How exciting!

Am also feeling quite pleased with myself after reading Gilda's post, as my yoga course starts on Monday, and I've also ordered the hyponobirthing CD to take with me to Thailand - I figured it might be a good thing to start listening to while I'm lying like a beached whale by the pool :-)

Ps You can keep your stinking cheeses ladies, but by god, if you have any pate on you, please keep it quiet as I may combust with envy.

StickThemWithThePointyEnd · 08/01/2011 18:39

exciting news :) go gilda!

I have The Rage.

AlbaDeTamble · 08/01/2011 20:59

Nothing, nothing, nothing... And I really want some of Jollster's Brie Biscuit

on the positive side, lots of lovely baby movements this evening, which is good.

Gilda, Toomt, RHG and WYG hope you're all progressing more...

NewImprovedJollster · 08/01/2011 21:10
Gi1da · 08/01/2011 22:25

Grabs wine, takes slug and slopes back to yoga mat to moo and sway.

Better luck to A, T and R xxx Smile
