BUNNY congratulations :) on the safe arrival of baby Daniel x

orange cant you get another scan this side of the weekend?!?!

Goodluckbear · 06/01/2011 16:11

Hi everyone,

Sorry it has taken me so long to report back - but glad to say I had a baby boy called James born on Christmas Day!! He was 8lbs on the dot. He had to stay in a little while but we've got him home now and he is doing really well, and starting to get the hang of feeding. I'm overwhelmed by him, he is wonderful.

Good luck to everyone,

GLB and James

Redheadgal · 06/01/2011 16:40

Great news Goodluckbear!! So pleased we had a Christmas baby after all :)

VivClicquot · 06/01/2011 17:00

Awww congratulations to both GLB and bunnybaby on the fabulous arrivals of Daniel and James. What lovely lovely news. :)

orange - hope things are settling down. If you can't wait untl next week, would you consider having a private reassurance scan in the meantime?

Welcome to lucy and womabt - so lovely to see you both over here

Hi to everyone else. Feel absolutely shattered today, and have had a troublesome day at work which, for the first time, has made me count down the days until I go on maternity leave. Only 3 months and 15 days to go... Hmm

Also very Envy at those of you who qualify for the Health in Pregnancy Grant as I've missed out by a matter of a week. Gah!

clareanna · 06/01/2011 17:08

Hurray! lovely news from bunny and GLB!! and a Christmas Day baby after all!

bunny lovely to hear how positive you sounds after your labour - I felt exactly the same with DS - the end went slightly wrong, but my overall memory was now damn proud i was of how I managed the pain and labour overall.

Gi1da glad you're still feeling perky - that baby will probably be as chilled out as you!

RHG happy due date!

viv sorry work is starting to feel urgh. Can you look at your hours and do slightly shorter days / work from home occasionally? That's what helped me... although as we know PR never sleeps Grin

orange sorry to hear your body is still playing mind games with you - is there any way you can get your scan tomorrow instead?

Meita · 06/01/2011 17:18

Congratulations bunnybaby, well done for having the labour you wanted, and aren't we just glad that c-sections exist as an option if all else fails!

Congratulations also GLB, wow a Christmas baby! Why did baby James have to stay in - was it 'just' the feeding? Glad all is well now!

big waves to everyone else :)

OrangeGloss · 06/01/2011 17:23

Goodluckbear !! what a great Christmas present! Grin

Dh reckons I should wait until Monday as I'll worry anyway Hmm Must keep reciting positive facts :)

lia66 · 06/01/2011 18:02

goodluckbear, Big congratulations on your very own special Christmas present. Hope staying in wasn't too awful.

gilda no pressure but you're next. :)

orange try and stay positive if you can, as others have said, is there any way you could get a private scan before next week? Fingers crossed for you and it's just your body settling down.

lucysnowe · 06/01/2011 21:20

Hi all

Big congrats bunny and Goodluckbear!

Orange I am so sorry things are mucking you about. The blood test is a really good sign, and lots of people bleed in pregnancy with no ill effects at all. Fingers crossed for the scan. Let's hope you and I and wombat get to spend a long long time chatting on this thread.

So now I am minutely comparing pg tests, faffing with my nipples every five minutes. The symptoms seem to fluctuate during the day, which doesn't help. Now I am worried because I don't crave lemon barley water like in my last two pregnancies Shock. What's the version of a fish slap for pregnant ladies? I definitely need one. Smile

AlbaDeTamble · 06/01/2011 21:32

-((((*>

Should do the trick... It got frequent use a while back when those of us now at the top of the list were where you are now Lucy.
But try to remember every pregnancy is different, as I was told by the midwife just this afternoon! The concerns are never ending... I was high risk at the end with DS but it's all fine this time, hard to get my head round. Could you slap me back please?

lia66 · 06/01/2011 21:39

loving the fish alba :)

Hello All

Blush for leaving you all for quite so long! After my 3 week hols in Sep we totally immersed ourselves in the house renovation as we realised we were running out of time and well I didn't really have time for much else especially when I started getting so tired. Then I couldn't find the thread and time just ticked by! Anyway, house now finished and I have just 12 days to go. Getting lots of pelvic pain and backache and the head engages further, birth pool has arrived and all going well (apart from having a flu virus at the moment). Great to see some of the people who joined the thread at the same time as me have had their babies and new members getting support. I'm in a reflective mood today as it's a year since I lost my last baby, but also looking forward to meeting this little person. Am going to try to be more organised re MN now!

dorcas111 · 07/01/2011 09:44

Hi Westyorkshiregirl, lovely to hear from you again- I've been wondering about you and how you were getting on. We got our BFPs within a few weeks of each other I think- and look at us now, almost at the top of the list! It's hard when you reach anniversaries of our lost little ones, even with so much to look forward to, so I hope you are taking good care of yourself.
Congratulations to GLB and bunny on the arrival of James and Daniel- wonderful news! Bunny, it is so inspiring to hear you talk positively about your labour, even if it didn't go quite the way you expected at the end. In the end all we want is for our babies to be delivered safely, that's the only thing that matters, and as someone else said, thank god we have other options if we need it.
LucyS, as someone else has done the honours with the fish I'm just sending you a hug instead. It is really tough in the beginning when all you can do is wait and hope that things will work out. As well as constant knicker checking I was always surreptitiously boob prodding as well, and getting paranoid if they didn't feel as sore as they did the day before. People on the tube must have thought I was a right nutcase, feeling myself up in public.
lia, lovely news about your son, you must be very proud. He sounds very talented!
Viv, that's rubbish about the HIP grant- very unlucky to miss out by a week. I hope that you can arrange work to be less demanding- and at least today is Friday!
orange, thinking of you, I hope that the weekend passes quickly and not too stressfully for you. The blood tests do sound very encouraging, I hope the scan gives you some peace of mind too.
Right, glida, alba, TMT and redheadgirl, one of you has to pop today!
Hello to everyone else, sorry not to namecheck you all, hope you have lovely Fridays x x

VivClicquot · 07/01/2011 09:53

Hi westyorkshiregirl - good to hear from you and glad everything is going well. You've got an exciting couple of weeks ahead!

Bless you clareanna and dorcas - it's not so much that my hours at work are particularly demanding or anything like that. I think I'm just in a post-holiday grump, which wasn't helped by the fact that one of my closest journalist contacts totally screwed me over yesterday over what I thought was an 'off the record' tip off; the knock-on effect of which meant that we missed the boat on a different opportunity, meaning I let down one of the partners here. Sigh. Still, you're right, it's Friday and to be honest, I've only got two weeks in the office left until I go to Thailand so screw 'em, I say... Wink

AlbaDeTamble · 07/01/2011 10:10

morning all. Nada happening here...

Viv anyone upsetting you at work better watch out, don't they know it's extemely dangerous to upset a pregnant woman?? Very Envy of your upcoming hols though!

WYG good to see you! I just saw your homebirth thread -- if you get no response there, scroll back here a little bit - Malteser had a lovely homebirth. And with a little bit of luck, both Gilda and I will have homebirth stories for you imminently

clareanna · 07/01/2011 10:41

Come on the baybees!!!

wyg lovely to hear from you again - im glad the house renovations are coming along well- nothing like the thought of a new baby to get things finished. Totally understand how you feel today, I don't think anything will take away that little bit of sadness- which is hard for some to understand (my mum in particular) but you're in good company here.

toomuchteaching · 07/01/2011 11:54

No news here. Envy

Congratulations GLB and bunny on the safe arrivals of your little boys, wonderful news.

Must go get dressed Blush so I can go for a walk.
