Hi LucyS I remember you well from the TTC thread, I was Moofold then. Congrats on your BFP!! The first weeks are horrible and you're going to need nerves of steel. All the best with your pregnancy.

Alba hope that the sweep and your exercise get things moving for you. Good luck with yours gi1da. The thought of it is making me cross my legs but its all for a good cause and I bet you'll gladly accept one now!

Sorry to hear about your bad news Louise but well done for your body getting back on track so quickly. Lets hope the next few months bring you good news.

All went very well at the anomaly scan today. Lovely to see him again and to be able to start to relax after being assured again that he is doing really well.

Organge keeping my fingers crossed for you pal

lucysnowe · 05/01/2011 14:19

Thanks Moo, I remember you too! Just realised my dates don't make any sense, I mean 19 dpo, into week five.

OrangeGloss · 05/01/2011 14:20

Thanks everyone for thinking of me, the blood test came back good, numbers had doubled. I have a scan on Monday to check progress.

I'm sorry I've been so selfish in my posting, I hope that I'll be able to stay and get to know you all

Cariboumoo glad to hear your scan went well, that's another step closer and must be nice and reassuring, and good to have another peek :)

Gi1da · 05/01/2011 15:12

OrangeG I am skipping (yup who knows it might help kick things off too) round the kitchen in delight for you - brilliant news! Did they give any possible reasons for your bleed? I always had trouble keeping a serious face when the ladies here mentioned their friable cervixes. I kept thinking of a cross between a Robin Hood character and Asterix - Friar BullCervix. Hmm

LucyS welcome, welcome! Smile We're all here to support you through the menkhul minefield that is duffers post mc.

Glad to see 2011 brings us a new and improved version of la Jolly Jollster. Wishing you a great year lady xx

Carimoo lovely to hear all is well, such a relief to have that one out of the way isn't it. [congratuatory hug and triumphant woot woot]

Alba I will not be in the slightest put out if your lad wants to make an appearance first, good luck!

Magic how's your skin doing? Hope you're more comfortable. Smile

Had a little wander about the boards earlier, so many new names it was confusing (and yes Jolls appalling list keeping tsk tsk tsk) but there does seem to be some rather lovely news on the old thread. Looking forward to seeing some more old names soon.

Off to do my human glove puppet impersonation shortly.... Am leaving my dignity here with Brian for safe keeping.

nickstermum · 05/01/2011 15:37

YAY for moos scan, hopefully now you can start to relax and enjoy him...(boys are ACE!!) and a yay for lucy's bean, FX for a sticky onex x

Im trying to keep myself positive by that stat you see that 98% of pgs where you see a hb at 8 weeks goes to term.... otherwise i will drive myself nuts in the next 3 weeks!! Not sleeping brilliantly, but figured if i boost up on 4 weetabix before bed i tend to sleep better ....have gone right off chocolate though...gutted as have a cupboard full of it Grin good news is i havent had any brown goo since nye, which was a day after my 8.5 scan. Counting down daily to 12 weeks Grin

We've had a run of bfp's and good scan news on the MC/TTC thread lately, which is fab. (so FX for a few more to join in the coming weeks all being well) But also a large influx of christmas newbies which makes me somewhat sad.

orange did you do a cbdigi too? I dont think you need to with levels like that!! fab news

louise im so sorry you started the new year off with a cp... i was rooting for a new year bean for you x I hope you are ok, and as the others say, clearly you are super-fertile and hopefully it will be next month x

Loving the dreams.... save some ham for me!

toomuchteaching · 05/01/2011 16:25

Due date has come... and it looks like it's going to go too. Oh well. Went out with my NCT class for lunch today, one baby and then a lot of nervous looking huge people! When the mum went to the loo, we all looked at each other and realised we had no idea what we'd do if the baby started crying. I can't actually believe I'm about to do this.

So the sweep... how was it?? Mine isn't booked until next Thursday (the only day midwife does), so I've got my fingers crossed something happens before then. Am thinking about you Gi1da, bunny and Alba... and wishing for some ham Grin

Great news orange, hope things continue to look good for you! And welcome lucysnowe, here's to a quiet and uneventful 35 weeks or so. Lovely scan news too Moo, I thought the 20 week one was just brilliant (once you can breathe again after hearing everything is ok), the things they show you... fab! Fingers crossed for your counting down nicksters, hope it goes quickly.

Had my lovely foot massage today... please let it work! Off to go bounce on the ball.

dorcas111 · 05/01/2011 16:27

Thanks magic I will ask the GP about that next time I see them- although last time I asked if there was anything other than gaviscon (bleurgh...) I could take she said no. Is there a reason why ritadine is not widely prescribed? I have to say I can't wait until I no longer have to drink gaviscon- I even have to take it after a glass of water for god's sake! My home and handbags are literally littered with bottles of the stuff. Hope you are well and not itching too badly.
orange that's great news, so happy for you. Don't apologize for being selfish, you aren't at all. I think everyone on this thread completely understands how terrifying it is being pregnant again when you have suffered a previous miscarriage. It is hard enough anyway, but when things give you cause to worry, like a bit of bleeding, it can feel unbearable.
nickstermum I'm glad things seem to be going well for you too. I think the first 12 weeks of my pregnancy were the hardest for me, it felt like an endurance test just getting to the first scan. I don't think I have ever 100% relaxed, even now I am still scared of something going wrong, but it did get gradually better. The constant knicker checking in the early weeks can drive you a bit mental!
Moo that's great news about the scan and congratulations too to LucyS, I hope you have a very boring nine months ahead off you!
Gilda, good luck with the sweep. They are obviously very snug and cosy where they are and in no hurry to get anywhere! alba, fx for you too that you start to see some action soon.
Hi to anyone else that I have missed, hope all is well,
x x x

OrangeGloss · 05/01/2011 17:12

Thanks everyone, just after I wrote this I had awful pains and a bright red bleed which is just tailing off. I really thought MC was starting. Has anyone else had this? The blood was scary but the pain totally freaked me out

Wombat I completely understand, and give my congratulations in this thread too Grin Grin may your next 8 months be uneventful and boring :)

Redheadgal · 05/01/2011 18:07

First off - huge congratulations to Lucy and Wombat. Here's to trouble-free pregnancies and September babes.

Excellent news too for Moo and Orange and keeping fx for Nickster.

Can't believe I'm 40 weeks tomorrow and still so low down the list. Get on with it babies... you know who you are! Not a sausage happening here. Am hoping her head's engaging as I've been getting seriously painful twinges, but nothing to indicate I'll go into labour any time soon. She's comfy and happy and all snuggled up. Had the flu jab yesterday and feel rotten today so I'm glad in a way that she's not going to put in an appearance.

Yum... ham sandwiches...

StickThemWithThePointyEnd · 05/01/2011 19:04

louise sorry to hear about your CP. Yay to being fertile, though! Really have everything crossed for you!!

orange fingers crossed for you, too. hope all is well.

lucy - welcome!

gilda good luck with your sweep. hopefully a good old rummage will do the trick.

moo great news about your scan. chuffed for you :)

wombat congratulations!

penguin have you asked about HIP grant? my mw says she doesn't think I would qualify, even though the government people say I do.. Hmm

magic how are the spiderbabies?

alba you have a polite little baby :o

dorcas I know the feeling (well, kind of). unfortunately, I can't physically drink gaviscon or eat rennie tablets, they make me vomit. simple as that. so I eat tons of yoghurt and hope for the best. No idea what's the deal with ranitidine. I had some in labour with DS and it was brilliant.

redheadgal happy due date for tomorrow.

Waves to everyone I missed!

I don't think I've ever done that long a namecheck ~grins proudly~

not much to report from my end. I've been inundated with work because one of our local nurseries was flooded over new year, and they are probably going to be closed till april. we're one of the overflow settings, and now have 4 extra toddlers every day, which means I've gone from working 1-2 days a week (reduced my hours when I got ill) to working 6 days (every other saturday), and with early morning starts. On the other hand I have finally handed my maternity leave notice in and will be finishing on march 1st!

have now passed my EDD for my mc (:() so it's full steam ahead now.
Hubby still hasn't told me what we are having, and I still haven't been tempted to ask.

nickstermum · 05/01/2011 19:35

Ivy your hubby knows the sex but you dont?!?!!?! Golly gosh thats restraint for you Grin

clareanna · 05/01/2011 20:14

Welcome to lucy and wombat i very much hope you'll be joining us full time soon and looking forward to seeing a few more grads here soon...

orange sorry to hear you've had another scare - when is your next scan / appt? My mw said that any bleed should be checkedo ut, so just because you've had a scan recently shouldn't stop you from having another one. And please don't worry about only posting about yours news - we've all done it and been there! When you're moving towards the top of this list in the months to come you'll be the perfect person to pass on reassurance to others joining the thread x

ivy and penguin my mw has been very quiet about the HIP grant too - I want my cash!!! I've written a note to mention it at my appt next week.

The Govt website says the following:

Who can get the grant?
You can get the grant if all of the following apply:
?you reached the 25th week of your pregnancy before 1 January 2011
?you are still pregnant - you can't qualify once your baby has been born
?you have been given health advice from a midwife or doctor to help you and your unborn baby stay healthy during pregnancy
?you are present, 'ordinarily resident' and have a ?right to reside? in the UK - 'ordinarily resident' will depend on your circumstances, but it usually means your main home is here
You can't get the grant if you reached the 25th week of your pregnancy on or after 1 January 2011.

If you're a new arrival to the UK, the residency rules are the same as for a Child Benefit claim.

When to claim
It's important to remember to send in your claim form on time.

You should get your completed claim form to the Health in Pregnancy Grant Office:

?within 31 days of your midwife or doctor signing it
?while you are still pregnant

gi1da hope that ham's not getting cold - I was looking forward to being named thread mystic after my spookily accurate prediction dream... fx for tonight...! Grin

dorcas your heartburn sounds awful- poor you, hope magic's tip helps if you can get hold of it.

Well I've been to waddlers anonymous today (SPD clinic at the hospital) which was in part useful and in part full of bonkers advice - "take a plastic carrier bag with you to allow you to swivel into car seats and fixed benches" being my favourite.

i've also sorted through all of DS's newborn clothes and I'm delighted to report there is legitimate reason to hit the shops and buy baby clothes - yippeee! DS was born at the end of May, and BB is due on 3rd Feb, so I need cardies/hats/ warm things otherwise he's going to be dressed in shorts / t-shirt combos it appears.

StickThemWithThePointyEnd · 05/01/2011 21:11

nickstermum yeah, I never wanted to find out, but he was desperate to. I also wanted to stop stupid questions and would have wanted to keep it to just us knowing IRL, so we made the decision to ask the sonographer to write it down. DH looked at the paper when I was in the loo after the scan. Massive grin on his face when I came out! :o For him, this was important because otherwise my bump would just really be a swollen tummy with freakish alien movements.

clareanna My midwife was saying stuff about how they aren't even supposed to hand out the forms before 25 weeks, definitely not the 25th week, and that I won't be getting it. Well, I've phoned HMRC, and they told me that you had to have been at least 24+1 on 31/12/10. Which I was. Exactly. I've asked them to send me this in writing and will be MAKING my mw give me a form, if not I shall be getting myself one from her supervisor. I really like this woman, and she was my midwife with DS as well, but she's more stubborn than me my husband!

Does anyone else get indigestion when they lean forward?

louisesh · 05/01/2011 21:56

Thanks Ivy And Nicks XX Heres hoping.Hope alls well with you 2 also?

Hi to everyone else XX

BunnyBaby · 06/01/2011 09:20

Just a little update. Daniel George was born 5/1/1 at 2.07 he was a whopping 10lb 1oz.

I am pleased to report i had a natural 18 hour labour, which was perfect with no painkillers. They only needed two pessaries to set me off and all was manageable.

When at 10cm they asked me to push and I mentioned it didn't feel right they checked and discovered baby was back to back, and firmly stuck. Ended up with unexpected c section but a fine strong boy! He's a red head we think so we're really pleased, he's healthy and until that point I was enjoying the natural labour I wanted.

Will talk to you over the next few days. Thanks so much for your love and support!

Will do a detailed hello later! xxx

PenguinsMummy · 06/01/2011 09:34

Morning Ladies.

Congratulations Bunny and welcome Daniel George!

Welcome to all the grads too and here's wishing you uneventful months ahead.

Ivy and Clareanna I am not seeing my midwife until 28 weeks so next appt is 26th Jan and planned to ask her then for the form as we do just about qualify.

All well here. Now getting lots of movement and have expanded rapidly over xmas. Now getting the OMG you are massive and have HOW long left!!!! comments - nice!

And the heartburn has set in so a welcome return to my friend Gaviscon Smile Had my flu jab on Wednesday too - just in case.

DH going to be working in London loads over the next month so I will have to get DD1&2 out to nursery everyday on my own - arghh!! But have got an end date now - go on leave/maternity from 11th March - 9 weeks tomorrow - woohoo!

AlbaDeTamble · 06/01/2011 10:01

Huge congratulations Bunny, great news Grin

lia66 · 06/01/2011 10:36

hi all,

Congratulations bunny I'm glad you had the labour you wanted, sometimes mother nature for whatever reason decides that babies are going to be born a certain way, so although little Daniel ended up with cs, he would have enjoyed the benefits of a labour. Enjoy your babymoon. Hope feeding is going well.

Gtt came back nice and normal for me, (no surprise there) Feel huge though, alba I think you'll notice a difference when I see you next. Shock

Got poorly dd (5) home today with high temp, came ghome from school yesterday saying she had headache, still got it today despite calpol on a nd off so have kept her off today.

Small boasting moment, ds (7) has been invited to audition for a dance troupe based at Pineapple studios on Sunday and some of it is going to be filmed for Louie Spence's entertainment programme, Hmm. Kids are supposed to be 8 really but lady in charge thinks he'll be ok. Very exciting for him. They need some youngsters for a music vid too (undisclosed artist as yet) and will be choosing from the new auditionees.

orange hope everything is ok with you, If yu are concerned, please go back to hosp.

louise hope you are ok. x

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 06/01/2011 12:14

Bunny Congratulations on Daniels arrival! Glad you had a good/positive labour even if you had to have c-s. Yay for your boy!!!!!!!!!

Lia hope DD gets well soon and great news for DS - good luck!

Penguin people are so rude, I know they mean well but fgs! Hope the gaviscon keeps the fire out :)

Dorcas poor you, it sucks! Gaviscon was giving me about 10 minutes relief, plus I was starting to be sick & go off my food Confused. I googled (as you do!) about its use in pregnancy and although it's not licensed for use in pregnancy it has been used for years without any effects on baby. I don't think I could cope without it tbh. Ivy it does get worse when you lean forward.

Clare your MW is naughty!!! She should have given you that form at 25 weeks. Ring her and get a copy asap because if baby boy brother comes early before your form is stamped you wont get the money! Ivy ask to see another MW if she refuses - what difference to does it make to her, she only confirms your EDD! Clare sorry I can't help but Grin at the carrier bag! Happy shopping btw (I love bubba clothes shopping!!!), I need more stuff, they recommened at least 12-16 sleepsuits for twin hosp bag. I have 6 white and 6 blue......(tiny/early baby) and hoping one of my friends with girls has some tiny pink they can lend me until I get out of hosp as I only have newborn which will be hooooj.

Nickster hope the times flies, I know these are worrying times but try to stay positive :)

How you doing today Gi1da?????? The itch seems to have calmed a little thanks for asking......aqueaous cream has helped but also have been taking spatone as hb was low on last bloods so wonder if this is helping too.

Orange how are you doing lovely after?

Happy due date Redhead! and you too Toomuch for yesterday! BRING ON THE BABIES!!!!!

Wombat Congrats! Look forward to seeing you when you feel ready to graduate Smile

How are you feeling Louise I hope things have settled for you x

Hi Lucy I remember you! Fab news and welcome ;)

Hey Alba how are you doing post sweep?

Moooooooooooo so glad your scan went well ;)

Actually had a good nights kip last night but my bump has had a sprout and I am finding it almost impossible to turn in bed, will need a hoist soon! I am MAFUCKINGHOOOOSIVE! Pissing down with rain here. Need to finish packing twins hospital bag but my new buggy has just arrived!!!!!!!! Grin so I might have to have a play Grin

Love to you all xxxx

Gi1da · 06/01/2011 14:06

No gammon yet ladies! Great to see updates from so many, quick post here as just back from town and need to get dried off properly, great weather for ducks but my comfy yoga trousers are very long and capillary action got me wet to the knees!

Delighted to see Bunny's news, well done you. Welcome to the world Daniel Smile

Not looking like anything imminent here, LittleGilda quite happy and cosy. MW could only just reach cervix yesterday (no sign of readiness at all) so not really sweep, more of a tentative prod.

Had acupuncture today and off to hosp for monitoring and expectant management discussion tomorrow. Ho hum. I do feel very well though, so at least that's a bonus!

Hope everyone is keeping cheery on this wet ol' Thursday.

Wishing good things for OrangeG

Redheadgal · 06/01/2011 14:12

Congratulations BunnyBaby - what lovely news. Welcome to the world little baby Daniel!

louisesh · 06/01/2011 14:23

Congrats Bunny

Hi Magic enjoy your playing!!!!

Things are settling i m just having a normal af now.Hopefully this will be the last one for a while.Viewing the cp as a positive sign as obviously everything is working and working well.

Lia Hi..Well done on your son,may he grow up to be a worldwide star and be able to keep you in the custom you 'd like to become accustomed to!!!!

Still attending my counselling sessions been today.Shes very good and always give me a different perspective on things. She said i m not to plan but oh i can t not!!! So shout me !!!!Whats the worst thats going to happen? Oh right, it already has.

Hi to all XXX

louisesh · 06/01/2011 14:24

Oh that should be shoot me, not "shout" me!!!

OrangeGloss · 06/01/2011 15:01

I'm feeling very Envy of all you at the top of the list, but it's good to see too. Congratulations Bunny Grin

I had a blob of dark red/orange this morning, and now I'm back to a bit of brown when I wipe :( I'm trying to stay hopeful, but it's hard after what's happened. The Dr said my cervix might still be sensitive from the erpc in Oct. My scan's on Monday, but I keep swinging between being scared of the bleeding and trying to remember the blood test was good
