proper fucked off with this weather now. Can't do or go anywhere, been in for FOUR WHOLE DAYS and tesco just cancelled my shopping for the 2nd time this week and now I'm crying my eyes out. The thought of even trying to get out later tonight with DH to do the shop is just too much. I understand why it s been cancelled am just fucked off they told me this morning "yes madam it has all been picked/on van they are running an hour late"...................Angry sorry for mememememe post.

HappyGirl1 · 03/12/2010 14:50

Oh Magic I know how you feel, I hadn't been out in 7 days until yesterday afternoon and we were literally down to the last bits of the freezer. I was totally starting to freak out and then we managed to get to Tesco but I was totally down in the dumps too before that.. I totally feel for you.. really really hope you manage to get even a few bits to keep ye going. Hope your babies are happy happy Smile

Littlemiss welcome Smile - hope your scan goes really well.

Sparkly I had a growth scan at 37 weeks and baby was 7lbs 6oz. I was like that's huge but apparently it's within the boundaries. I've since read up on it though and apparently there is quite a big margin of error on the scans. Hope it works out for you. When is your growth scan?

Apple hope all goes well at the EPU - i've read also that post sex bleeding is normal.

Unbuffy I can't wait to hear your good news!!

No news here, definitely starting to get quite impatient. I'm just ready for baby to come. With the weather don't think family will get to visit tomorrow which is disappointing but nothing you can do really. Just ready to meet our baby now. No contractions or anything today though.

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 03/12/2010 15:49

sorry am just so grumpy today and feeling sorry for myself especially as my bump is starting to make things difficult, I am tired and itchy (not OC itchy though) so bloody uncomfortable all the time. Thought I could get some sympathy from DH but he just moaned down the phone at me. I need to man up and get over myself I still have a long way to go.

Not long to go Happy yay!! Wonder how Buffs is doing? Sparkly I feel your pain honey! Not sure what the deal is with big babies so can't really help I'm afraid.

Big wave to Littlemiss!

Try not to panic apple, it is so common esp if you have just been Wink. Good luck at the EPU.

yes single placenta and gestational sac but they are both in their own amniotic sacs (monochorionic/diamniotic) because they share placenta there is a chance that one can hog more of the good stuff which is TTTS (Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome).......so far they are growing fairly equally so neither getting the lion share BUT it can happen at any time, even during labour. Everything I have read seems to point to about 35 weeks.....ish.......They say to pack your bags by 28 weeks.

waterplate · 03/12/2010 21:05

Thank you so much to everyone for your good wishes - it is actually possibly good news for me for once. I went to the doctor today and she was very reassuring - she said that faint lines can be ignored so long as they're there, and with so little bleeding and no cramping it may well all be fine.

I ended up feeling a bit silly having cried all over her! Did a different make of test tonight and it's clearly still positive so perhaps they were just a dodgy batch.

She's faxed the hospital to book me in for a scan early next week - just waiting for the hospital to call. I'll either know it's bad news or be reassured.

My heart goes out to alibobs and appleblossoms and anyone else having scares -thinking of you all. Thanks again all for being so kind :)

WhenStNixgotstuckuptheChimney · 04/12/2010 08:42

hi ladies,

Im the artiste formerly known as nickstermum fresh off the MC/TTC thread, but in christmas disguise. Finally got another BFp Xmas Grin but so totally not ready to grad just yet of course. I just wanted to ask is it normal to feel sheer terror, that terror being derived from already having recently lost a baby...as well as complete and utter happiness. Im trying not to think about it, am trying to stay relaxed and i think thats the best way...for me anyway.

My story is age 34, DS age 3, MC aug 2010 @ 12 weeks (blighted ovum) BFP end Nov 2010.

Any advice you can give me early on will be gratefully received, and if this one sticks i will be ready to join you a bit later on

clareanna · 04/12/2010 08:45

good to see you littlemiss got everything crossed for you!!

apple I had bleeding after sex as well in early pg and all was fine - I hope is OK for you this morning too - take care x

sparkly how is the baby roo this morning? I second everything the wise Loppy says, they thought my DS was going to be big, he was 7lbs 10oz... but did have quite big feet too! try not to get too worried about size, you want to be calm and positive during labour not going into it think THIS IS NEVER GOING TO WORK!
But speak to your HCPS and get advice from them so you have all the facts.

loopy meant to say a few pages back - CONGRATULATIONS on DD4! As someone who always thought she wanted agirl, but is having another wonderful boy, I know how your DH is feeling a bit, but what IS is always infinitely better than what might have been!

Magic have image of you in a bunker huddled around a candle sending DH out on foraging missions... there are always the cats...! hope you get some food soon, supposed to be a bit of a thaw today? HOpe everyone else with bumps is taking it easy on the icy pavements!

happy not long now - hope you're not going too stir crazy

water fx for you - glad your GP was reassuring.

Waves to alba samb louise gi1da viv moof anyone else I've missed... will try to catch up from my sunlounger!!!
Doc said iron levels a bit low, white blood cells a bit high, suggesting an infection. Have been coughing a bit so she' given me some antibiotics to take with me just in case.

After a previous flight with undiagnosed bronchitis leading to me being put on oxygen at the back of the plane I'm adopting a better safe than sorry mentality!!!!

sparklyrainbow · 04/12/2010 09:05

Thanks loopy and clare, useful info and very encouraging about your DS clare! :) Baby roo still bouncy I think is the best way of putting it! Scan will be at some point next week, still waiting for hospital to confirm but midwife has done the referral (I assume...shall be hassling her Monday to check). I'm not overly concerned at the moment, in my/DH's immediate family the biggest baby was 8lb6. I was 7lb10 at 38 weeks and my brother was 6lb8 at 36 weeks. So we'd both have been above average if we'd gone to 40 weeks I suspect, but not massively so. I just keep telling roo he can come out in a week or so if he wants...

Hi Nix was wondering when you'd come across, had a little peek at the TTC board the other day, think there might be a couple of others when they feel ready too :)

Happy hope you're ok and keeping occupied, have a lovely break Clare and glad you're feeling a bit better Magic and spiderbabies are happy. Waves to everyone else, have a good weekend all xx

appleblossoms · 04/12/2010 13:16

Thank you so much everyone for your support. All was beautifully fine this morning Xmas Grin Such a relief. The doctor said I most likely have cervical ectropion, which means I may well experience more light bleeding/spotting throughout, and not to worry unless it's more than I just had.

Welcome nix! It is horribly scary in the first few weeks...I'm still terrified now.... no advice other than just what you're feeling is normal...and remember, you're pregnant right now, enjoy it (as much as possible) Are you going to have an early scan? I found mine really reassuring but I know people have different opinions on the benefit of them.

Glad your GP was reassuring water, it makes all the difference doesn't it! Good luck for your scan next week. Let's hope for some more good news.

magic and happy you can send me some of your snow if you like?! I'm gutted we haven't had any yet. I want to take DS sledging!!!

Big waves to all. Going to try and relax a little more now and try and enjoy this pregnancy. Hope you're all having nice and relaxing weekends.

Gi1da · 04/12/2010 13:47

Phew hope I got that right!

Sorry have been awol for a bit. Got a bit depressed as there was some awful news on the December thread, one of the ladies lost her baby at 37wks.

On better thoughts lovely to hear good news here - congrats and welcome to Nix, glad to hear all well Appleblossom and Water.

ooo - gotta go, will catch up later on - DH just back and we have to go and pick up a cot we've been given - I want to get the drive over before it gets dark as not quite sure where it is!

BUFFY hope you are having lovely cuddles with your baby! xx

waterplate · 04/12/2010 18:32

Unfortunately woke up this morning to cramps and bleeding so have been to hospital and mc confirmed as the most likely situation. It's weird, both my mcs (and I have no children) have come on exactly the same day in the pregnancy. Off to investigate TTC/MC threads to find out what the wisdom of mumsnetters can do for me...

BEST OF LUCK to everyone for happy, healthy pregnancies, and hopefully I'll be back in a few months (ignoring doctor who told me it's best to wait SIX months before TTC again...that is completely different from what I was told last time!)

CaribouMoo · 04/12/2010 19:16

Waterplate I'm really sorry to hear that, what a horrible time for you. As far as I know the advice has changed now and you don't need to wait? After my first MC it took 6 months to get pregnant, which sadly resulted in another MC. This time I got pregnant 3 weeks after my ERPC and have got to 16 weeks now. All the best, have a look at the TTC after MC thread that a lot of us here came from on the conception section. There's also a good thread in the pregnancy loss/ MC section called recurrent buns, where the ladies have had multiple MCs and are very wise on tests that can be carried out. Hope to see you back here soon.

Apples sorry to hear you had a scare but glad all worked out well and you had a good scan. DH and I both agreed no sex during the first trimester this time, i know it isn't meant to cause any harm but we wanted to play it safe. Now I'm in the second trimester we still haven't and I'm scared!

Gi1da glad you are back, that is terrible news indeed. So, so very sad. Good luck finding the cot!

Nix good to see you here pal! Utter terror was the norm for me for a while but you've got to do your best to relax and accept all will be well. As Alba said earlier, its best for baby too. Hope to see a lot more of you and Littlemiss soon!

Have a great holiday Clare, what a brilliant time to be going. I'm with 8s on being heartily sick of the sight of the white stuff and regular temperatures below minus 10.

Thanks everyone for your advice about the anterior placenta. Its reassuring to know so many of you have had the same experiences and I've got good sources to ask. TBH, I wondered why the MW was asking about movement at 16 weeks. With DD though I'm sure I felt her around 17/ 18 weeks, so I had expected to feel movement soon. It wasn't my own MW, she was snowed in and the other MW obviously hadn't read my notes.

Have a good Saturday everyone. Is Unbuffy definitely having her bub? x

waterplate · 04/12/2010 19:41

Thanks for your kind words caribou - DH has just made me a rare burger with blue cheese sauce and I'm half a bottle of red down and strangely enough I am starting to feel a tiny bit less sad! Tomorrow that will probably change but WE CONTINUE!

Will definitely check out the recurrent buns threads, thanks for the tip off.

CaribouMoo · 04/12/2010 20:05

You'll have your ups and downs water. Just be kind to yourself and take it one step at a time. Your meal sounds amazing!

I meant to ask earlier about telling your wee ones about their sibling. We were originally going to tell DD after the 20 week scan but are now thinking of telling her sooner. She told me last night that my tummy is getting a bit big! Also I'm worried that now that its public someone else will talk about it in front of her, or ask if she is excited etc. What were your experiences and when did you find was a good time to break the news?

AlbaDeTamble · 04/12/2010 20:10

Running in quickly to say good news from Unbuffy on her other thread...

Unbuffy · 04/12/2010 20:12

Very swift updating-type post, will try to catch up with y'alls very soon...

Am currently doing the CS Shuffle around the place! Baby James Anthony born yesterday, will copy/paste list with details below, otherwise see other thread for exhaustive (and pretty traumatic looking back on it) birth story. Don't want to burden you with all the details here too - especially the easily nervous (Dum dum DUM threatening music link...)

HAPPY!! WELCOME TO LIST-TOPPING-NESS!

Will post more soon

xx

Hello ladies, I'm creeping in to your thread from the 'just mc' thread in search of some advice. I hope you don't mind...

I was wondering if there was anyone in here who'd got pg on their WTF cycle? I'm 7 weeks post erpc and had a several positive tests this week. I've spoken to my gp and the ward sister at the hospital and they've both said it's most likely to be a new pregnancy.

Basically, I'm in total shock. I've been charting so can clearly see my temp increasing and I did have a -tive test after the erpc.

I guess what I'm looking for is anyone's experience of this, is it more likey to fail? I've decided not to tell DH for another couple of weeks (if I get that far) as I can't bear to get his hopes up again.

Sorry for the ramble. It took me 12 months to get pg with the baby I lost so I'm in complete and total shock. Confused

x mouse

ps) congrats unbuffy I'm now off to find the other thread - I love a birth story... Smile

CaribouMoo · 04/12/2010 21:26

Unbuffy that's great news, congratulations!! That's a good strong name you've chosen too, I've always liked James. So pleased everything is well - you're the first person I've known on here from BFP to birth, amazing! You've got me intrigued about the birth too, especially since I'm down for a VBAC or whatever they call it.

Hiya Mouse, yes me. I got pregnant 3 weeks after my ERPC and this baby is still doing well at 16 weeks. I'm not sure if they just don't like it for dating purposes or if there is another reason they suggest having a period (like some sort of clearout). Good luck to you

mousebacon · 04/12/2010 21:44

Ooh thank you caribou xx

Did you go for an early scan?

PenguinsMummy · 04/12/2010 22:35

Crikey! You disappear to Center Parcs for a week and how much talking do you ladies do! Wow - it's going to take me a few days to catch up so hope everyone is well.

Passed the 20 week stage and have my scan on Tuesday so will hopefully find out if it's a blue or pink one! Smile
