Hello,

This may be a bit early as I know a lot can happen this early on but thought I would tentively see if there is anyone else in the same situation. Hmm

I found out I am 4 weeks pregnant this weekend. I am trying not to get too excited as it is so early but am finding it hard not to be! Blush

We have told my mum but have decided not to tell anyone else yet hence the reason I am here as I am desperate to talk about it.

Would anyone else like to join me on the 12 week wait and share feelings and experiences?

Well ... we have been rubbish and have not been able to keep it quiet Blush so now all our close friends, family and some work people know!

I feel like I have been hit by a bus, I am not sure I expected to actually feel ill! I thought I would just be a but sick and more tired than usual!

Also .... I am like the side of a house! I seem to have piled on weight already and look about 6months! I am so uncomfortable already!! Doed anyone else feel like this?

I'm 5+2 with first pregnancy so incredibly anxious about every little thing!

I can't stay awake during the day, I can't sleep at night and I've gone through half a bottle of gaviscon already. And the morning sickness seems to be kicking in this morning :( So I'm feeling pretty rough so far but I guess feeling so sick is reassuring in a way that I'm still pregnant!

inbetweener · 14/11/2010 10:16

Im only 5 weeks today but with baby 3. I am having a LOT of abdominal discomfort. Any one else ???

I ha a miscarriage 2 months ago so while I am happy to be pg again am also terrified !

squirrel007 · 14/11/2010 10:33

highheels hope things work out ok for you

dannilou I also wasn't expecting to feel so different so early on! I naively thought I might just feel a bit sick occasionally and that would be it. Didn't really believe that feeling pg could make you feel rough so early on.

I've only told my mum so far, but all my friends have started speculating - making it hard to keep quiet!

belle453 · 14/11/2010 16:32

Hi I am almost 6 weeks pregnant. The problem is I am 48 years of age-this cannot be happening-help. Is there anyone out there of a similar age?

MeesaMum · 15/11/2010 11:31

I was taken aback by how rough I feel somedays too. I was so niave to think morning sickness was feeling a little queasy first thing! I am feeling sick all day everyday at the moment but am blessed to not have been actually sick yet. I have woken up with a streaming cold though and am avoiding paracetamol etc. so am not much fun to be around.

Told Dad and inlaws at the weekend (am 6+2). I never expected them to be so emotional. I've never seen Dad cry in 30 years - he did on Saturday though. It's a happy time. Roll on 12 weeks.

HI, I've just found out I am pregnant, I don't know how far along because we have been using contraceptive Blush.
It is a bit of a shock, and I'm not sure how I feel about it yet, well actually
I'm a bit Shock Sad and Angry tbh. I'm due in July I think.

I have to wait until christmas (or just after) for my 12 week scan. I too want to talk about it but can't as yet which is why I'm posting here as I hope that by talking about it I can get my head around it and start to feel excited.

Congratulations to all, I hope I haven't upset anyone.

highheelsandequations · 15/11/2010 17:10

After an up and down few days, think we have some good news. Had yet another scan this morning, definitely pregnant, definitely in uterus, definitely a yolk sac and doctor reckoned she could see a heartbeat :) HCG levels still aren't doubling but they are increasing. So now more waiting, have 3rd scan next Monday morning. In the meantime my boobs are agony and I could have put my head down on the desk and slept at work this afternoon but am worried that I'm not yet feeling very sick. Nausea seems to come and go at the moment and I'm not sure if I'm imagining it! Still reckon I'm now maybe just about 6 weeks so still plenty of time for it to hit me badly.

inbetweener what sort of discomfort? I was having cramps for all of week 4 (although dates are guesses!) and some of last week, panicked on a number of occassions and phoned NHS 24. They were quite reassuring and said as long as the pains weren't sharp and there was no bleeding or spotting it sounded fine.

Congratulations to those who have just got their BFPs :)

MeesaMum · 15/11/2010 17:51

SO pleased for you HighHeels. Have been keeping fingers crossed for you.

argylesocks · 16/11/2010 20:45

12 weeks today! now just waiting till scan on saturday to breathe a little easier once i'm sure the little bean is actually in there!

wickedwitchofwaterloo · 16/11/2010 22:04

Can I join in?

Having had IVF which was stopped after egg collection, I had been waiting for AF to turn up and hadn't batted an eyelid at the fact she was 15 days late... Having been badgered into doing a strip test (faint positive line) I then did a Clearblue Digital which low and behold informed me I was pregnant Smile
Shocked doesn't quite cover it!

I am concerned about an ectopic pregnancy because our reasons for IVF were that I had polycystic ovaries, blocked tubes and a fibroid Sad
I have been getting cramps in the evening too (which I assumed were AF ones) and a dull ache in my left side... Will hopefully be seeing the doctor on Friday.

I estimate I am about 6 weeks gone (going by LMP), however the conception indicator says 1-2 weeks, so 3-4 weeks, but I am assuming this is because it wasn't the first wee of the day and I'd drunk a fair bit of water??

Symptoms so far are craving chillis and brine, very sore nipples, achey breasts, feeling quite tired and weeing like there is no tomorrow.

broccolitrees · 17/11/2010 09:33

hi can i join in?
i am 5 weeks pregnant and also can't wait to broadcast it, i only tested yesterday but haave had my suspicions for about a fortnight as have been intermittently nauseas for that long.
we have had a difficult journey to get to this point, and it is a lovely feeling to read the pregnancy threads without feeling like a bit of a fraud Blush
we have a 5 year old dd who we have decided not to tell until the first scan and because of my history i am having an early scan in a fortnight - hope that doesn't exclude me from this thread.

cake4breakfast · 17/11/2010 13:58

Hi everyone and congratulations! I'm only 4+ weeks and am still waiting for first appt. DP and I have agreed not to tel anybody til 12wks but I don't think I can hold it in!

Xmas is coming up and I think it's gonna be obvious when I'm not drinking but I don't want to jinx things...

Bonnie27 · 17/11/2010 14:53

I'll Join, my husband and I just found out this weekend that we are 3 weeks pregnant, we couldnt keep quite and told both our parents and sisters. But as for everyone else we are trying to wait the 12 weeks, but yes it is incredibly difficult so badly want to announce to the world right now, and have so many questions as well.

millimurphy · 17/11/2010 16:02

Hello - think I am about 6 weeks, not sure. Feel apathetic about the whole thing. Parents and siblings all know and all overjoyed, partner is overjoyed, just me who couldn't really give one. Fed up already with conflicting advice on what I can and can't eat, what I can do and how I am fucking meant to live my life from now on. Can't look at pictures of babies or baby stuff - they just seem strange and abnormal. It's like there is something alien growing inside me. Just want my life back to normal :(

natmay27 · 17/11/2010 17:06

hello...my 12 wk wait is over but wanted to reassure everyone waiting! i am just 12 wks had my scan monday was convinced there was going to be nothing in there, due to absolutely NO symptoms only cramping for a few weeks that stopped ages ago...only for there to be a tiny little thing with a massive head lying there with his legs crossed! (not sure why but since scan have been calling it a he!)am relieved and nervous all at once very strange millimurphy i felt the same when i first found out as only 22 and not married (bit old fashioned!) although in a relationship for 6 yrs worried about there being 3 of us rather than 2, not excited atall just petrified...sick of not being able to eat chorizo! mum made it worse by asking all the time why wasnt i excited blablabla plus partner v v v excited and weirded out that i wasnt...felt bad that i wasnt excited when other people try for yrs and are over the moon when it happens and mine was a bit of an accident i felt ungrateful in a weird way!
promise once you've had a good few wks to gget used to the idea and had your scan you'll feel a million times better...i do!! :) remember things happen for a reason!

wickedwitchofwaterloo · 19/11/2010 19:28

Bad news Sad

I started bleeding last night, had a scan at the EPU this morning, they couldn't find anything so they have taken my blood (my HCG level is 210) and will see if it has doubled on Sunday.
They said I may be having a miscarriage or I may be less pregnant than originally thought, which is why the scan didn't show anything. The bleeding seems to be stopping tonight though and I'm pretty sure I didn't pass any clots but not sure what I'd be looking for anyway... Fingers crossed it doubles for Sunday but I'm preparing myself for the worst x

Piglet33 · 19/11/2010 20:21

Oh, you poor love Wicked. I know it's easier said than done, but try not to worry too much just yet. You could be earlier on than you thoughht and bleeding doesn't always mean the worst. I've had lightish bleeding for three weeks now since 6 weeks and my EPU quite relaxed. Take it easy tomorrow and good luck on Sunday x

witches · 20/11/2010 10:45

Hi everyone
I have a loooonnng way to go only just found out preggers this morning so only like 3-4 weeks! I am feeling quite scared can't quite believe it and so worried going to jinks it all. Feeling uncomforatable in stomach but not other signs. Will keep everything crossed for you wicked x

Danilou22 · 20/11/2010 15:11

I am so sorry to hear that wicked, how worrying. I really do have everything crossed for you xxx

I have got a week to go and then I have my first midwfe appointment. She is coming to the house which is great and at the weekend too which is even better. I still can't believe how terrible I feel or how much weight I seem to have gained already!

I hope everyone else is ok? I am still waiting for the 'blooming' stage to kick in!

LDNlady · 20/11/2010 16:01

Aw wicked I do hope that all will be okay for you. x

So, I finally have my first scan a week on Monday. Danilou Sorry to hear you are still feeling so rough. I am so pleased to be over the worst of the early pg feelings. Mind you, knowing my luck something else will kick in sometime soon! :) Can't believe the wait is nearly over, it seems to have taken aaaaages just to get to this point.

How much longer for the rest of us to wait for the first scan? x

wickedwitchofwaterloo · 20/11/2010 18:11

Thanks everyone Smile

Bleeding started to get a bit worse this afternoon so I won't be getting my hopes up Sad

On the plus side, I didn't even think I could get pregnant naturally so if nothing else, that is something to hold onto!

Thanks again and I hope everyone else is doing well x

AliMidwife · 20/11/2010 18:11

Girls how exciting for you all. This is the hard part not telling many people and maybe feeling tired and a bit rotten? it will all be worth it though!
Please look back at the antenatal class thread I created yesterday.... It may be of some interest to you before you book antenatal classes elsewhere! www.antenatalclass.net
Hope to hear from some of you!! :)

Danilou22 · 20/11/2010 19:22

14th December is my first scan so not too much longer. I just hope I stop feeling so ill and sick after that.

I am really concerned about my weight. I am not a little lady anyway (size 16) and I seem to be getting huge already, I look about 6mths. I am so worried I am going to get a good roasting from the midwife and scan etc, what if they can't hear the heart beat through my stomach??? Blush
