Hello,

This may be a bit early as I know a lot can happen this early on but thought I would tentively see if there is anyone else in the same situation. Hmm

I found out I am 4 weeks pregnant this weekend. I am trying not to get too excited as it is so early but am finding it hard not to be! Blush

We have told my mum but have decided not to tell anyone else yet hence the reason I am here as I am desperate to talk about it.

Would anyone else like to join me on the 12 week wait and share feelings and experiences?

Hi all! highheels yeah I've done a few extra tests, 'just to check' Blush I just tried a digital one and it's very reassuring to see 'pregnant' pop up in the window :)

I also just realised that 12 weeks falls almost exactly at xmas, so I'm not sure what'll happen about the first scan... I'd quite like to make holiday plans but not yet sure how the appointments work, and I don't have a midwife appointment till 1st Dec to ask.

I'm not feeling sick yet either, just very tired and had to buy a bigger sized bra today. But like argylesocks I panic a little whenever I feel okay!

bananarama05 · 06/11/2010 21:26

One day at a time sofakitten one day at a time Smile

I fell down the stairs this week and have had horrible cold induced sinus headaches - I couldn't tell you what day it was most of the time or anything I've actually done at work lol!

Told my boss this week as didn't want him to think I was just being lazy and whingy and he was actually lovely about it all and seemed dead excited bless him!

SofaKitten · 06/11/2010 21:38

Ooh poor you, hope you're ok banarama - (I remember them!)
Running chemistry practicals are fun when you keep having to throw up in the prep room - I think it's going to be a video/past paper week coming up...

squirrel don't be too hasty to want to feel ill - that was my mistake! Grin

bananarama05 · 06/11/2010 22:04

Thanks sofakitten I think my workmates think I've gone mad, hobbling about, randomly rubbing bits of my face whilst looking at obscure sinus pressure point websites at lunch Grin

Here's to a better week next week eh?!

MissLolita · 06/11/2010 23:20

Hi ladies, can I join please? I'm 5+6 I think. We've only just moved house and I went to register at the dr's surgery yesterday and told the nurse at the registration apt in case it affected any of the details (bp, weight etc) and to find out what to do and she just said to make a m/w apt at the desk which I did for the next available slot which was 1 December. Nothing else...!
I'm a bit worried as I've been spotting every day for the last week - not masses just enough to create little pink or pale red streaks when wiping (sorry if TMI!) - I don't know if I should be worried or not - I wanted to ask at the dr's but the registration nurse ushered me out so quickly that I didn't get a chance to say anything. I'm not sure what to do. I know that spotting is commom, but when is too much? I'm not sure whether I should make a dr's apt or to wait for m/w...?

mslolita i'd make apt just to put your mind at rest tho know that spotting is very common.

mummyof...im waiting eagerly for my symptoms to start as i normally suffer terrible MS i know i will soon be regretting! Im just 4+1!! Never found out this early before so all a bit strange for me!!

tebbles · 07/11/2010 09:20

Am now 6 weeks (this last week has been sooo slow). Went to the doctor who was really nice and am now waiting for letter from the MW.

Not many obvious symptoms yet. Bloating has slightly subsided. No more light pinching cramps that I had for a few days earlier on. I am just so hungry!! When I need to eat, I need to eat straight away or I feel faint and slightly nauseous. Have started carrying bananas around with me. I am also so thristy all the time. Have put away my jeans as they were feeling uncomforable (maybe my imagination!) so will stick to leggings and loose trousers for now.

Have been avoiding my friends as I don't think I'll be able to keep my mouth shut! All going well I will tell a few very close friends at around 8-9 weeks. Everyone else can find out a lot later (when I start to show), that tragic miscarriage story in the news this week has made me change my mind about telling people too early.

highheelsandequations · 07/11/2010 11:18

Glad I'm not the only one who still likes seeing the word 'pregnant' appear on the digi tests squirrel. Was proud of myself today, first time I've managed to go to shops and not buy more tests for a week :o I'm pretty sure I'll also be 12 weeks exactly at Christmas, although won't know dates for sure until after scan (haven't had a period since August). Trying to decide whether I'll be wanting to cook Christmas dinner or if we should arrange to go and stay with my mum and dad for a few days.

Danilou22 · 07/11/2010 11:53

Yep, I am still testing. I love that I don't even have to wait for a line to appear, it is there straight away Smile

As for this feeling ill thing, I always thought that if I was pregnant I would be happy and excited enough for the sickness and illness not to get me down .... I was wrong ... I do mind and I do feel down and I am struggling to be excited at all!! i seem to wake up every morning with a hangover that doesn't go away!! roll on 12 weeks and fingers crossed all of us suffering will feel better!

i had ms with my other three til around 18/20 weeks Shock not nice at all.

squirrel007 · 07/11/2010 16:30

It's very reassuring to see that others are still testing! Makes me feel better, even though I feel a bit silly doing lots of tests.

highheels I'm in the same situation, last period was Aug but I think I skipped Sept's due to contraception, so not sure of dates at all!

tebbles I am hungry all the time too! Not nauseous but feel a bit faint and dizzy if i don't eat... felt really ill this week at work after having a long meeting and not being able to eat for a whole 3.5 hours Hmm But I am definitely having to snack a lot more and hoping that I'm not going to put on weight too early.

filey1 · 07/11/2010 17:05

Hi everyone,

I just did a hpt (well 3 actually!) yesterday and got a positive. I guess that makes me 4 weeks. Exciting times. This was our first month of trying so it has been a bit of a shock. No symptoms yet really but I'm waiting...

futuramamma I'm in Hackney too - have heard good things about the Homerton Hospital

Carla10 · 08/11/2010 08:08

Hi
Can I join? I have just recently found out this weekend after many times of peeing on about 5 different tests. I am in very early stages. Went to doctor and they did a urine test but was too faint, so had to have a blood test on friday and now another one today!! eeek!!!
Very nervous but very excited, currently suffering with a prolapsed disc and sciatica so am worried how my body is going to cope.

COngratulations to you all and good luck
Smile

MeesaMum · 08/11/2010 11:13

I'd like to join if that's OK. I'm new to Mumsnet and am only 5+2 wks. Feeling a bit sicky and sore of breast.

We told my Mum yesterday and will probably tell other parents at the weekend (when I'll be 6 wks). I'm finding the secret keeping impossible though!

Panicked a little last night after 1st time 'intimacy' since we found out I was pg. Pink spotting for about an hour. Not sure this will do our sex life any good - am terrified now (irrational as I know 'intimacy' can't bring on MC). Anyone else had this?

pearl297 · 08/11/2010 17:09

Hi everyone,
Congratulations to you all :) Can I jump on board? I?m 6 +2 and found out last week. I?ve had to tell work about it as I?ve had to be placed on light duties and there was no way round it. We decided to tell both sets of parents too as we wanted them to be the first to know. I?ve always been a bit of a worrier and now I?m anxious I?ve jinxed things. Trying my best to give my head a wobble and stop googling facts though Blush. Roll on 12 weeks!

MeesaMum · 08/11/2010 17:16

Congrats Pearl. The way I look at it is that telling close family and work where necessary doesn't change the odds of a healthy outcome. If (God forbid) anything were to happen we have support already in place too.

Re: Google - I'm not sure if it's the worst or best thing ever. I feel far less ignorant by having "facts" (?!) at my fingertips - I don't know who I'd turn to otherwise. Having said that I sometimes upset myself for no reason.

Luckily the MN mums and mums2b have been great on my post-intimacy spotting. Feeling much better about that now. They gave me search terms to use that have made Google a more useful resource.

Good luck with your pg Pearl and everyone else.

Mum2Pea · 09/11/2010 16:18

Hi Everyone!

Congratulations to you all on your pregnancies! Can I join? I'm 7+5 and have known since 4+1. DD is 2.5 years old and already very excited!

Have had the same problems as most of you with regards to GP being uninterested, however found the MW and hospital both really nice the first time round.
I have a MW booking appointment confirmed for this weekend when I will be 8+2 and have received a scan date for 10th Dec, so will be 12+1.

So far we have only told my parents and my sister and her husband. Everyone is very chuffed. DH has a difficult relationship with his family so we don't plan to tell them as yet.
I am suffering badly with MS same as last time and that time it went on til 16 weeks, fingers crossed it stops sooner this time.
Looking fwd to getting to know all of you over the coming months 

tebbles · 09/11/2010 17:48

I'm finding it so hard to keep it a secret! Today I got an email from a close friend who lives abroad who is 12 weeks! Only 6 weeks ahead of me! So tempted to tell her, but know I should keep it quiet for a little longer.

highheelsandequations · 10/11/2010 16:32

Am feeling very :( and completely panicked as went for early scan today and they couldn;t find anything. Plus told me I have a fallopian tube full of fluid and didn't really tell me what that means. Am waiting to find out results of blood hcg test and then have to get levels checked again on Friday to see if they're doubling. Am now absolutely terrified :(

catherineps · 10/11/2010 19:27

good luck highheels - thinking of you

MeesaMum · 11/11/2010 10:35

Thinking of you highheels.

Stangirl · 11/11/2010 11:05

Can I join? Tested positive today following IVF. 4weeks +2.

I already have one DD aged 9months and didn't have any symptoms for the first couple of months and haven't had anything this time yet either.

Mamafoof · 11/11/2010 11:52

good luck highheels - hope all goes well xx

inbetweener · 11/11/2010 12:09

Hello all,
Can I join please. I am 4+4 and found out on Monday morning. I was 3 days late and had previously tested BFN so I was quite surprised to get a BFP !!!

I am 36, have two daughters aged 6 and 8 and VERY nervous about starting this rollarcoaster again !! I had a miscarriage in Sept this year so am really nervous and praying this one will stay.

Im not going to go to the GP until I am aroound 6 weeks. Once I am throuhg this horrid 12 weeks hopefully I can relax. My previous two pg's and births were so straightforward and blessed Im utterly unprepared for feeling so anxious !
